Gripping

Alana Khan has written a winner again, only its more.
Revikk is a deeply serious story of a child conditioned to be a sex slave, servant, and cold hearted killer. For fifteen years Revikk served a monster. When he finally broke free he suffered from ptsd and a personality disorder.
Dawn had an easy life as a slave to the same monster. It seems he just forgot about her.
What started with flirting, then sex, morphed into love. But when you've never known love, how do you recognize it?
Ms. Khan has successful navigated the delicate lanes of communication between the wounded and the lover. You'll binge Revikk, and it will be worth it.

The third book in the Galaxy Sanctuary Alien Abduction Romance Series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Human Dawn and Revikk will have a lot of ups and downs to get through, before they get their happy ending. I would recommend.

He’s too damaged to Love

Revikk has survived a horrible past of unthinkable horrors. He has never known love from anyone, including his parents who abandoned him when he was 5. He finally escaped and rebuilt himself but he is broken inside and doesn’t allow himself to feel anything.

Dawn was abducted from her bed in Georgia by Aliens. She is sold to Daneur Khour, a mafia kingpin, and kept at his compound on Fairea. Since Khour was killed and the slaves were freed Dawn has been selling eggs at the fair to help earn money for Sanctuary. She has been flirting with a handsome male who sells leather products, Revikk, for several months.

Revikk is intrigued with Dawn but doesn’t think he is worthy of her. He gives her a ride back to Sanctuary and stays for dinner and meets the other people living there. When they start talking about Daneur Khour he freezes, until he finds out he is dead.
When he hears that they have found Khour’s missing accounts he offers to figure out how to retrieve the money. But it requires him going to the planet and bank with a female that looks like his daughter. Dawn is the only one that fits the bill. Reluctantly he agrees to take her.

Revikk has to reveal to Dawn that he was once owned by Khour. He knows she will hate him when she finds out about his past. So he closes himself off and pushes her away. They will retrieve the money and he will disappear. Of course things go wrong and they are on the run together.

Can Dawn convince him she loves him and his past doesn’t matter or will Daneur Khaur continue to ruin their lives even from the grave?

Excellent book! Love how the relationship develops between Dawn and Revikk. If anyone deserves happiness it’s definitely Revikk!

This well-written, fascinating Sci-Fi novella grabbed my attention within the first few pages. The plot is intriguing with an emotional undertone and has good world building with excellent descriptive scenes. The two main characters (a turquoise-skinned alpha male alien “Revikk” with secrets) and (a feisty human female “Dawn” with OCD tendencies determined to get her man) each of them have strong-willed personalities even though they have traumatic pasts but ultimately they get their HEA. The secondary characters offer good support.
There is: an alien mafia boss (Daneur Khour), MarZan cartel, a compound (Sanctuary) on a planet (Fairea), rogue gladiators, various kinds of aliens, humans, abduction, slavery, twists & turns, drama, action, adventure, intrigue, suspense, friendship, attractions, longings, determination, well-meaning manipulations, memories, devastating memories, protectiveness, danger, threats, enemies, attacks, conflict, violence, contentment, some steamy scenes & a wonderful, epilogue with a well-deserved satisfying conclusion for this couple.

Excellent book in the series. Love this world of Fairea and the Sanctuary. The author’s world building is outstanding and the character development is deep and meaningful. It’s also steamy and romantic. Plenty of action and drama as well.
I loved that they both had traumatic pasts to overcome and that he’s actually the more broken of the two. That’s a welcome change. The honest and thoughtful way the author deals with trauma makes this a high point of the story. This book was pretty easy to read and kept my interest the whole way. I look forward to more in this series. Definitely recommend.

Trigger warning.
His name, Revikk, means "Courage or the strength to persevere"
His past left him dead inside. What he went through, , ,he walked through hell and came out the other side with his jacket still smoking!
We usually read about the male being the hero but Dawn is an amazing person! She not only excepts all of him and what he had to do to survive but holds on to everything she wants with a strength and determination of her own. She doesn't hide her emotions and specks up for what she wants,(when she learns how). She may have called him a hero but, so is she.
While reading this story, I didn't realize I was crying until I felt the tears roll down my cheeks. My heart broke! Then I cheered with a fist pump in the air!
Please don't miss out on this one!

I really enjoyed this sci fi story of overcoming adversity to come back stronger. Dawn is a human woman who is drawn to Revikk, an alien male. It was nice to see initial attraction between the two to then spin into more as the plot unfolded. As hard as it was watching Revikk reveal and almost “relive” parts of his dark past, it was that much more satisfying to see him face and overcome those thoughts/feelings. The uncomfortable sorting through of feelings as well as the suspense brought on by the task the pair sets out to fo made this a very enjoyable read. As well, the extended epilogue completed the HEA for me.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

Warning: This book may trigger people who have been abused. There are also adult situations so should be for mature readers only. Having said that, I have to say that I fell in love with Revikk. He endured so much and has the scars to prove it. He is more than his scars however and Dawn is finding that out. This is an extremely well thought out book. It takes you places with your emotions that you don't often want to go, yet once you are over that part, you understand the complexity of the character. I LOVED this book and would highly recommend it.

This book literally grabbed me right from the very first page. The story is amazing. Dawn is a beautiful feisty woman who has been selling her eggs at market and she sees Revikk and she is smitten. Revikk is a sexy grumpy sexy alphs male who has had a hard life as a slave.

These two are magic together and their story will grab you and hold you all the way through to the end. I received th ARC of this book in return for a review and I have to say you really will love this book, every single page will hold you enthralled wanting to know what happens next.

I have loved every single one of Alana Khans books they are full of action, adventure, romance, hot hot hot sensual moments and humor as well as danger. All her books are must reads. This book really touched me and I highly recommend it to everyone who loves romance. Be sure to pick up a copy. You will be so very glad that you did. I loved it so much I bought the whole series.

I love this series. Alana Khan has created a very detailed universe that spans several different series. The Galaxy Sanctuary series is set in the world of Fairea where gladiators and other former slaves have found a sanctuary to live their lives as a free people. This is where Revikk and Dawn meet.

Revikk sees the world through the lens of his soul-consuming past trauma. It’s left him closed off to the idea that he could ever really love anyone until he meets Dawn. Dawn used to own a farm in Georgia. Now, she raises alien chickens in Fairea. She likes Revikk but it’s going to take more than her sunny disposition to convince him that they really are meant for each other. Dawn’s up for the challenge, though.

These two get sent on a mission and very quickly find themselves being chased by bad guys. Both Dawn and Revikk were very likable. They worked their way to that HEA through intense action scenes spanning through several solar systems.

Excellent addition to the series. Highly recommend.

We gradually learn about the horror of the hero’s past life, if you can even call it living. When he meets the heroine, he seems to change. Something about her pulls him to her. When danger follows them, he reverts back, becoming cold with no feelings what so ever, existing, but once again, not living. What will it take to bring him back?

I love all my book babies. Of course I do. I would never send them out in the world if I didn't think they were loveable and the best book I could write. I sure love this guy. Call me crazy, but I have a soft spot for damaged heroes, and this gorgeous blue guy certainly qualifies. You don't get to know his backstory until the middle of the book, but it certainly explains a lot about who he is.

He and Dawn have to work hard to get to their happily ever after, but by then hopefully you'll love Revikk as much as I do.

Book 3 in Sanctuary - and we meet Revikk and Dawn
Revikk is damaged, broken and has the lowest self esteem of any creature I've come across. He is a victim of time spent in the Khour compound as a toy. Degraded and punished to breaking point. But he escapes and becomes Revikk - a leather worker at the Fair where Dawn sell her eggs. They chat each time they meet and soon are more than friends.
The journey they undertake together is filled with horror, emotion, determination from one to distance and disappear and from the other to mend bridges and start afresh. Can it happen or is Revikk too damaged and full of self loathing.
Alana weaves her delightful imagination into a beautiful story full of hope and new beginnings.
Highly recommended read.

Dark themed PNR w. all the feels, ❤️ and triumph! HIGHLY recommend!

This is the third story in the Galaxy Sanctuary series. While this one could be read as a STAND-ALONE, I do NOT consider it be. I highly recommend they be read in the Galaxy Universe publication date order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers. There are multiple reoccurring characters, concurrent / consecutive timelines and overarching themes that are built from the foundation laid by the first story (Zar). There are also a lot of details that occurred previously that would be lost, as they cannot be adequately explained within another story.

** There are multiple scenes, themes and references to subjects that will be difficult for sensitive readers. These include abduction, enslavement, rape and trafficking. A high-level list is included below. **

— Although I try to watch it, if you have not read this (or the previous stories in the series’ universe), the following may contain spoilers. —

The one thing that I miss, and believe would be extremely helpful, is a published reading order for the Galaxy Universe. Otherwise, I love this dynamic series. As I stated previously a good series is not all that easy to find. Everyone of the stories have to fit together without being repetitive, while still being engaging, which Alana Khan has done beautifully.

This is a dark story which features a couple of former slaves that meet at the Renaissance Fair held on Fairea for centuries. Their chemistry is electric and the scenes are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. The story universe and characters are wonderfully detailed and really come to life. The story is a great pace and not rushed, which also helped with my ❤️ of Dawn and Revikk, as it allowed the time for their relationship to develop and come to terms with his past. The feelings evoked was 💔, but extremely well done. There are details but they are dealt with in the past tense through flashbacks and recollections.

I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There are a few more grammatical issues in this story than most, but nothing that is difficult to interpret, or that detracts from my enjoyment of the story. These included incorrect grammar, capitalization, word choice and word tenses, missed word, typo, and an inconsistent data and inconsistent formatting errors. I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.

This story begins about three months after Daneur Khour’s death and the slaves on the property have been released. This included eight gladiators that were punished, tortured and buried in a cell and five human females. Dawn was one of the five, but she was fortunate and didn’t evoke Daneur Khour’s sadistic streak.

Dawn was abducted in her sleep from her family’s farm in Georgia, and she doesn’t really have any skills useful to space pirates, so she does what she knows and takes over raising the prens (I think of them as space chickens). They have an excess of eggs so she found a vendor at the fair to buy them wholesale. While there she noticed a male that makes leather goods of all types. Everything from the usual to the unique, like hangings appropriate for above a sofa.

His name is Revikk and they have spoken and flirted with each other. Today Dawn is going to make her move and see if he is interested in some playtime. She doesn’t have have any interest in any of the males at the farm so why shouldn’t she grab some happiness and fun if she can? So Dawn approaches his booth …

Revikk has had his eye on Dawn since the first time he first saw her walking and smiling to sell her pren eggs. She just seems to radiate happiness. He still isn’t sure why he did it, but today he will give her the present he made. Then she asks to see the place where the magic happens before he can gift it to her. Heck yes he is interested. So he autozips his booth and gives her the grand tour of his ‘workshop’.

⛔️ SERIES / GALAXY UNIVERSE contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, etc.; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, restraints, etc.; violence throughout typical of the alien abduction genre such as kidnapping / abduction, murder / death, torture, assault, rape, fighting, human (species) trafficking, enslavement, pain/kill collar, mental, physical and sexual abuse of adults and children, prostitution, coercion, etc.

What I liked:

Star Trek references.

The found family dynamic is my favorite.

His need to make sure he had her consent and that she enjoyed herself

What I didn't like:

The casual sex in the beginning. Sex isn't supposed to be casual. It's supposed to be important and for serious relationships only.

Revikk being promiscuous. I think it's gross. If someone has sex with a bunch of people, it makes sex unimportant and not special. It also doesn't make sense given his past. While I don't agree with promiscuity or casual sex, I also think people should do what they given there's consent and safety. If he was single and the females knew he wasn't looking for a commitment, then fine. I don't personally like it, though. And I feel like it would make more sense if he was wary of sex and picky about who he slept with instead of sleeping with everyone.

Him telling her "In a way" when she asked if he was going to have sex with Merna even though he had already told Merna he wasn't going to have sex with her. It doesn't make sense at all.

The unnecessary exclamation points. There were multiple times that something was yelled and it sounded awkward because it's not natural. Some of the dialogue was written very well, but some didn't sound right.

Their "caper" felt very similar to another in this series or another related/connected series. It just didn't feel unique.

Overall, it was a good story except Revikk being a man**ore and the other details I mentioned. It could have been great but had some wasted potential. A very low 3 Stars.

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Dawn's way to contribute to the group was by selling her eggs from her little prens. One booth at the fair caught her attention or someone. Drawn to the vendor Revikk on a multitude of ways..was he a bad boy? Finally working the guts to go after the leathery man. Could he bring her world shattering in ways she as only dreamt about?  Dawn has gotten into the narrating role that it's bring Revikk pleasure just to hear his pretty Dawn speak. Wow that was didn't go well after the sexy time moment she was feeling.
Revikk knows he is a grump but something in the human pulls him to her, but it can't last…right? Because nothing ever came without price for him, what would be this cost for a slip of happiness. Would Dawn show him he was not his past and worth fighting for. This was another moving read only it's not the human that suffers and the point system is hilarious.

Stopped too soon

SPOILER ALERT
This was too powerful a story for one book. I was so engaged up until they left the barn. Then suddenly the resolution arrived in such a rush I couldn’t e en enjoy it. I wasn’t ready.

Ruby has Such an excellent ability to get into the psyches of these two opposites, strong characters who really flew off the page and became real. Fantastic head space perspective and reactions that had me riveted. I really sank my teeth into this one but I truly felt the ending was rushed. There was so much more left unsaid between the drama of crisis and acceptance. That stuff I want to see. So it was a four star rather than a five but that doesnt mean I wouldn’t recommend it. I fully enjoyed and hope that there are more as powerful as this story being planned!!

Ok. Wow! So. Damn! I don’t know why I thought this book has a virgin hero because. Um.. no. No no no. It does not. It has a master… um… well.. she calls him a sadist. All I know is that he seems to know exactly how to work her body and he makes he ask for everything she wants so… there is a lot of dirty talk and this would be in…. Chapter 1. It this is really hot if that is your thing.
“It strikes me like a thunderbolt that talk is this male’s foreplay. Well, talk and consent.”

And for those of you that read my reviews…. Even though he is not a virgin he asks about her clit and asks for a “tutorial”. You know I love when the hero wants to learn!

Revikk might be super sexy but he is super damaged. If you love them that way you will love him.

A love story for Revikk and Dawn

I am reading all the books in this series and it’s spin-offs. So this one is from the survivors at the Sanctuary. Dawn is a former slave that has found her calling in taking care of Prens (they are similar to chickens) who lay eggs. Dawn sells some of the eggs at the farmers market to make a profit to go towards the Sanctuary. Dawn takes a liking to a leather maker or leather man as she calls him. There is a really good scene at the beginning with these two. This is where their journey begins. . . . Revikk has secrets though of a past that he is trying to forget and move on from. Read On!

Revikk and Dawn's book did not dissapoint. I loved the idea of sanctuary from the beginning and all the books we have on this world untill now show that it really was a great idea. Revikk looks so confidente and sexy that its dificult to think he has such a traumatic past but he actually is more damaged then Dawn. They both mix so well together and are a great addittion to the sanctuary universe. The way they talk about trauma and the ways they make it work is very inspiring! I look forward to know more about this people/aliens.

Revikk

Revikk is a miracle. He has been through so much. They all have but his story is so heart wrenching. You cry a lot. At least I did. You can laugh and celebrate with him for what he has achieved in his life. His female is his perfect partner in all things. There is so much information in this book. Twists and turns galore. I love that there is still contact with the two ships. Dialogue as well. I really love Thantose. He's A hoot. Can't wait to start the next book in the Sanctuary storyline.

Revikk, abandoned by his parents at the age of five, has led a dark and painful life. Dawn was recently kidnapped from her farm, placed in slavery and ultimately released. They meet at the market where she sells eggs, while he offers beautiful hand tooled leather goods. He is attracted to Dawn's smile and sunny disposition, while she is intrigued by his bad boy vibes. Can what started out as a fling turn into something more? Stark, haunting and riveting, I could not put the book down.

As with all Gadiators, Revikk is an ass. I thought for once, when the book started I thought I would like him right away. But, the more I found out about his life, of course I began to like him. I felt so sorry for him upon reading his story. From the beginning of the story, I thought Dawn was too sweet for Revikk. As with most of the women in the series, Dawn may be sweet and easygoing, but she had a spine of steel.

Having the Capability to Love

Revikk is a deep complex novel. Revikk is Daneur Khour’s escaped sex slave. He is carrying major baggage as “boy”. Dawn is a bright light who loves Revikk; wants to give him the gift of believing he is worthy of love.
This is an insightful novel raising the question of how our experiences form us; what we do to survive; and can the capability to love and be loved ever be entirely lost?

Sanctuary for the free.

Powerful topic to read: It's a really sad book making me cry, but I've also laughed, gotten angry, and smiled so much. These books have characters that have their own stories in other series by Alana Khan. They are excellent too and well worth a read as there are more Gladiators, pirates, and more. I love this indie author and look forward to each new release next is So'lan's story, so I'm off to enjoy it, hope you enjoy these reads.

What a emotional ride. Revikk at first seems a handsome bad boy who falls for a beautiful smile from the human who comes to sell her eggs.

Spoiler: later as the book progresses you discover the horrid life he was forced to lead as a slave to a evil bastard.

It will break your ❤️. But a HEA is found.

Ms. Alana, you made my heart bleed for Revvik. That was painful. But I am glad that you gave him Dawn, a person who will accept all of him, his dark and light side, his sufferings, his doubts, his shame until he learns that he deserves all of her and her love.
