When alien males started arriving, it brought hope to Earth. Alien mates are the hottest thing on the planet—but only if you can afford one and your tests guarantee alien hybrid babies are in your near future.
And guess what? I don’t meet either requirement.
Condemned to watch from the sidelines, I convinced myself that helping others get their happily ever after was good enough…until I saw him.
Straxx. Shy and massive, I’ve never seen another Draalian like him. And when he needs my help I don’t hesitate no matter the consequences.
Now I am back on my family farm, licking my wounds and trying to forget the only male who made me want to risk everything for just a chance.
When the universe puts him in my path for the second time, can I defy the odds and keep the one male who can give me my very own happily ever after?
Straxx
When ships landed on Draal seeking males to relocate to a planet called Earth, I knew it was my one chance to find a female who won’t care that I am different.
On Draal I am considered nothing more than a reject, an unworthy male who has been unwanted since I took my first breath. Earth promises something different—a place where any male can be chosen. I arrive full of hope only to be passed over again and again because I can’t work up the courage to even speak to a female.
Cornered in the hallway by cruel males from my home world, I am saved by a female who gazes at me with kindness, curiosity…and something else I can’t define.
All I know is I want more. Charlie. Tiny and fierce— I vow to make her mine. But Earth has rules and Charlie informs me we will never be allowed to be mates.
When the universe takes her away from me, I refuse to let her go. I will find her. When I do, can I prove to her she is meant to be mine? And can I defy everything and everyone to keep her by my side forever?
AWOL Alien, written by Kelsey Nicole Price, is part of a collaboration of authors collectively known as Cosmic Kissed. It has no cheating, no cliffhangers, lots of steam, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Publisher’s Note: There are sensual, graphic sex scenes throughout the book. Intended for readers 18+.
Kelsey Nicole Price is a midwestern girl who shares her brain with a lovable bunch of cyborgs and a stray alien or two. While other girls were dreaming of Brad Pitt she was crushing hard on a certain android from Star Trek TNG.
As an adult she longed for a cyborg of her own so she decided she'd write him. One blue cyborg turned into a whole bunch of different colored cyborgs and she couldn't be happier that she gets to tell their stories.
When she's not writing she can be found watching Unsolved Mysteries with her hubby, snuggling her two cats, indulging in any kind of dessert and secretly wishing for a pet sloth.
4.25 stars 🥹😍. Oh this was such a sweet read and I’m really hoping that that the author opts to expand on this as her own standalone series, she left the door wide open for one in the epilogue.
This book features a MMC who is discriminated against and severely mistreated on his home planet because of his looks. Unlike the other alien males he has yellow and blue scales, is bigger and was born with one penis instead of two. It makes him inferior in the eyes of all his species. So he’s pretty shy and grows to accept his severe mistreatment. Until he comes to earth via a mate agency and is rescued from bullying by the FMC.
The FMC just like the MMC has her own battles. She works as a waitress during mating mixers for women who can afford alien mates. Not only can she not afford an alien, she also would be denied from the program because she can’t have kids. So is she a little lonely too, but she’s full on accepted that she will never a have mate.
These two were so sweet together. It is a bit insta love heavy on the MMC part, but it works so well for this story. It’s easy to see why he fell for the FMC as she is one of the few people who is kind to him early on. I have to warn anyone who picks up this book it’s a lot of terrible side characters. From the aliens who mistreat the MMC for being different to the woman who won’t let the FMC forget that she is “less than” because she is infertile.
This was a really good read of two people coming together who are taught they should be alone. Also bonus points for the FMC loving moms, pet cow and sexbot turned really good friend.

So sad, but sexy and romantic at the same time, I could not stop reading this once I started! Like, I was angry at the way Straxx is treated right from the get-go, but it just didn't stop, and he still kept moving forward. It's not like that kind of bullying didn't exist on Earth too, I mean, consider how the security officers and the government treated women like Charlie, who was a bad ash, and she was amazing right from the beginning, but she wasn't valued enough to qualify, and they never let her forget it either. I could never imagine a world without men, but now you have me thinking about it, and yeah, it's not cool, lol, so I'm hoping this book doesn't end up being the 1984 of our generation. Can I just say, look out for the moms and Bessie, they kind of steal some of the shine and just make the story a fuller experience. The author made some valid points to think about concerning governmental control and power. I love how love finds a way in these pages, and I hope there are more in this series. I don't think I've read this author before, but I'm going to look for her books now so I can fix that.
This was probably on of the sweetest books I have ever read! The story was great and flowed beautifully. The characters are what really make this book special though. Even the secondary characters were extraordinary.
I mean this - no shade - it's the best and worst of wattpad writing. The highs are high. Squealing, yelling, kicking my feet belly down on a bed. This book has that ✨️romance✨️ feeling. When it's good it firing on all cylinders. The highs of it carry you through the lows.
The dialog is a bit cringe for me. It reads like mind fantasy you think of before you go to sleep at night. They're almost like too in love It's like chill it's been a week...it's not that serious.
Then maybe I'm a hater. I will concede I liked his shy, gentle, damaged nature. But, like, sometimes with novels like this - I question - are you in love or is this the first person to treat you with kindness and dignity. Are you in love or is this the first person to have a full conversation with you. It's not a gripe with this book in particular, but everytime I read a romance and a love interest character has a horrible upbringing, I ask myself this. They say they're mates, they go through trials and tribulations, but I'm not 100% convinced that these people are soul mates - they may just be the person that works. That's a kind of love too. I don't think that's the conclusion I'm supposed to be drawing here.
Also, maybe just me? But I'm kinda sad that Sam and Straxx ain't ⚔️ Like the MMF and/or MFM was right there. I can't get a little scene. He's a sexbot, and I get nothing. 😔
I did find that this book dragged in a few places. Overall, I had a decent time and more importantly a fun time. Highs outweigh the slog of an undyanmic narrative. Prose and structure are pretty unsophisticated, but I liked that. Life has been life-ing lately for me so I enjoyed this easier read.
Also may serve as a good pallet cleanser between serious books.
Straxx isthataalian a lizard like race with gorgeous blue scales. He's a bit different along with his blue scales he has beautiful yellow ones. He's treated behind horrible his whole life because of his differences. Spit on, harassed just treated awful. He heads to earth who desperately needs males to continue the race. He hope and dreams to find someone who will accept all of him. When he gets to earth he meets Charlie! Charlie is a waitress she's been lonely since a virus took killed the makes of earth. The planet is female dominated and only those who pass the health exams and can pay the very exorbitant fee can buy themselves a spot to get a mate. While doing her job at one of the mixers she spies a gorgeous yellow and blue Draalian who size does not go with his shyness. When she sees something horrible happening she steps into nonstop it knowing she'd get into trouble for speaking to the beautiful male.Sheridan care she helps anyway . In that short meeting they both feel a instant connection, but the rules say they can't be together. But that doesn't stop Straxx. He knows what he wants and he wants his Charlie! It so good the characters are well developed I and the story will have you calling in love with this couple! I love Straxx. He's the perfect mix of alpha male with a soft vulnerable side that he only wants to share with the female that captures his heart. Charlie is warm caring and tough she has a lot of love to give and wants to find her one and only to share it with. Going on the journey of their relationship was a fabulous ride and I look forward to reading more it sounds like Kelsey Price is going to revisit Draal. Is also like to know if she's going to add to her Cyborg series. I loved that and would adore seeing more in that series as well!. Highly recommend🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥
This book…I was crying in the first several chapters. Straxx’s story is so sad. He’s been mistreated and looked down on his whole life for the “abnormalities” he was born with. Even by his own family. Alone in a world where everyone is linked to their clutch mates (siblings). Instead of being angry, violent, and bitter, Straxx is a gentle soul who gives up everything for a chance for a human mate who won’t care he’s different.
Charlie is sweet, and strong. Also treated differently for things beyond her control, she is exactly what Straxx needs. She is so loving to him and he slowly starts to believe his own worth. The growth they both experience because of their love and total belief in each other is wonderful.
Great characters with amazing chemistry. I was rooting for them every step of the way.
Took away 1 star because: lots of spelling mistakes and incorrect words (ex. singled instead of signaled); and SO many inconsistencies and contradictions in the story. Plus, there was no epilogue with Straxx and Charlie but that’s purely selfish on my part because I didn’t want to let go.
That reminds me of another issue. The epilogue is about the brothers who treated Straxx horribly! Now we’re supposed to believe they behaved that way because they were upset their mother died after giving birth to him. (spoiler: the doctor said he was sterile so, since the couldn’t sell him for breeding, they kicked him out of the house). I would love to read more of this world but PLEASE don’t make the brothers the mains.
With all these issues, I probably should have given 2 or 3 stars but the story is just that good.
Straxx and Charlie are perfect for each other, then throw in Bessy and Sam! 🥰🥰🥰
Part of the Cosmic Kissed collaboration between multiple authors. Can absolve be read as a stand-alone, but does share overarching themes.
⛔️ Contains subject matter that may be difficult for sensitive readers, such as adult language; mental health challenges with depression, anxiety, flashbacks, etc.; and violence with bullying, child abandonment, assault, fighting, etc.
How could I not love Straxx, a male that has never been wanted by anyone because he was born with recessive genes. This caused three physical differences, two visible and one not. Straxx is larger than most other Draalian males, and he has yellow scales on his chest, and spaced sporadically on his body and face. Then throw in one very personable cow called Bessy, a sexbot named Sam, not to mention the three Dams, and I am a fan. I am not forgetting about Charlie either, because she is the lynchpin that makes it possible. Together they all kept me entertained!
I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is reads, as errors interrupt the flow. There are several grammatical issues including incorrect punctuation (commas, apostrophes, etc.), transposed characters, missing words, and inconsistent formatting (thoughts not in italics or single quotation marks) and data (sorry potential spoiler if I list). I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.
Normally the above would be enough to downgrade the rating at least a little, but the storyline, plot, characters, etc. is so strong, I just couldn’t make myself lower it.
Pros: -An actually different setup than the usual Mars needs women trope and where the aliens comes to Earth instead
-the female main character is the one who saves the male character on a few occasions
Cons: -All human men have died off and it's been decades of just women on Earth. So I was hoping perhaps we might get nuanced views of other women in scifi romance. LOL, nope. Almost every woman other than the moms is a slutty slut who is out to get the main character's man. And if they are in a position of power, they try to abuse it.
-It's stated repeatedly that the two main characters probably can't have kids. And yet suddenly at the end, one is talking about how cute their future kids are. I don't know why it's so hard to find scifi romance that isn't so kid-centric, but after setting it up like it was going to be different, it's disappointing that it throws it away at the end without any explanation about why they suddenly thought they could have kids.
-the wolf attack. Authors and Hollywood, what did wolves ever do to you? Attacks in North America, even going far back in recorded history when wolves were far more plentiful, are extremely rare. And note I'm including Canada, even in the far north, they aren't common. Stop making them your go-to killer animals of choice the second there is an apocalypse. (Bears, mountain lions, sharks? Absolutely. Go for it. Although maybe not that last one lest we get more Sharknados.)
In this fantastic sci-fi romance. You meet the heart melting male Draal Straxx. Straxx has been told his whole life that he is unworthy of anything especially love and compassion. All because he was born different. My heart broke and melted for this character. He's big and beautiful with a big heart. He leaves everything behind to find even a chance at love. When he meets Charlie he knows she's the one. But the laws of earth says she's unworthy of him. When she is dismissed from her job for even talking to and saving Straxx from a group of bullying Draal's. Straxx is determined to find Charlie again and be with her no matter what. When he started out on this adventure he didn't know he would only be finding a mate but a whole family. Throw in a sarcastic sexbot/best friend, a sassy bovine and three protective mothers and you get one whirlwind of a love story. They say it would be impossible for two deemed "unworthy" souls to work but Straxx and Charlie are out to prove them all wrong. This is one book in the Cosmic Kissed series each can be read as stand alones or enjoyed as a series
It was nice to read a different series than my usual. And of course I loved this shy, awkward, virgin alien with his one cock. They always get an amazingly strong, outspoken female to advocate for them. I love that combo!
In the universe Mars doesn’t need women, Earth needs men. A female society is importing alien men and trying to make matches. You have to be a privileged one to be chosen, and making babies is even more uncertain. But that doesn’t stop our heroines from finding true love.
I do have an issue or two… he has never been with a female before and he decides to “go down”. (Of course he does. All aliens love eating pussy.) Anyway, he has never been with a female before, yet while using his tongue … “Sensing she was close, I pulled back with a hiss.” How!? How could he sense that? He has never even chatted with another female, never even had a mom.. but he can tell she is “close”!? I am not buying that.
Virgin rating: Innocence of virgin hero: 4/5 Innocence in losing it: 3.5/5 Build up to losing it: 4/5 Hotness of losing it: 4/5 Busted touching himself: no POV of losing it: female
Cute story with really uncomfortable eugenics undertones that I'm still not sure were intentional. Lost major points with me with that epilogue. I'm so fucking tired of the recent trend I've seen that's giving abusers HEA. Redeem villains? Sure! But people who would ?! I need to remember this author's name as I'm thinking it might be one for me to avoid. I'm not rating the story lower simply because the part I hated was only the epilogue, not the story itself.
You are really going to like this story. I enjoyed meeting Straxx, in all his yellow and blue glory. Being born with yellow accents in a totally blue race, Straxx was ostracized and billed his whole life. Even his older siblings treated him like trash. Coming to Earth to obtain a mate, Straxx meets Charlie, the woman his heart desires. Unfortunately, the star crossed lovers have to run and hide since their mating is against the law. Meet Charlie's three moms, her cow Bessy, and enjoy watching Straxx and Charlie grow in their love for each other.
Wow! This book had all the feels, laughter, sorrow, anger and joy. I loved the storyline and the characters, especially Bessy the cow. Straxx and Charley were determined to be together and I’m glad they got their happy ever after. Now there are three brothers headed to Earth looking for mates and I keep thinking about Charley’ three moms...
Tears were brimming from my eyes and I couldn’t help but cry for Straxx and Charlie. It was heartbreaking reading his plea. Their happily ever was hard fought and he deserved his Charlie.
I also loved Bessy and Sam, they may not be what you may consider as human, but they cared for both Straxx and Charlie.
AWOL Alien is a complex story about Straxx’s differences causing him to be belittled, bullied and meek to a loved, confident alpha male. For those of us who have ever experienced bullying, we know it takes love, support, and bravery to become our strong true self. This is a sweet, cosy romance about Straxx and Charlie.
I was pleasantly shocked how this characters, worlds, story was told. It was touching, endearing and had so many impactful parts. Looking forward to reading others. And I hope they get to have hybrid babies! Though I am uncertain how the author can make his siblings redeem the sins of the past.
All the feels in this book. I am impressed! I very much enjoyed this book. I do wish that some of the others were more in the books like reintroducing other characters. But on the other hand all these mostly are stand alone books you can start in any order. I will say I’m very interested in what happens next with his brothers he thinks are dead.
This story has my favorite type of hero — a big, strong male who doesn’t know how attractive he is. I also like the setting of a future Earth that has gone through a tragedy but isn’t dystopian. This is the first book I’ve read in the series but now I want to check out more.
Love this series and can not wait to see where this goes. Straxx was such a wonderful combination of shy sweet protective and alpha. The author was able to throw all those conflicting combinations fit together seamlessly. Charlie was a strong yet caring and empathetic character. Hoping to see more of this world written by this author.
Out of all these stories, I've got to say that this one is MY Favorite 😃. Straxx is different and considered worthless, Charlie is just a waitress and not allowed to even Talk to the males 😕. They come together and find Love, but will they be allowed to be together 😲? Thanks Kelsey, I truly enjoyed this story the BEST and look forward to reading more 🤓.
I loved it. It was fast paced and exciting. The scene where the MCs were separated was heart wrenching. I couldn't stop crying. I am loving this series. I agree with one other reviewer who wrote that she didn't want the brothers to get their HEAs. They are mean.
Such a funny and sweet love story. Between bullies and hiding and a lovable cow. Oh don't forget the sexbot wow. Lions and tigers and bears oh my. So worth reading more then once too!!!
I laughed, I cried, and I cheered. The world building is smart and fun. The main characters are loveable, and the supporting characters are amazing. Some bad stuff happens, but Awol Alien is a heartwarming read.
Loving me some love story!!!! No abductions nor slaves nor pirate attacks but a sweet story of love that concurs all. I really enjoyed this story and I think you should too.
Awesomely sweet , he went from a wall flower to a strong sh*t kicking male. My only complaint is that she didn't get pregnant with the changes his venom caused. But that's just my opinion.
What I liked most about Straxx was that despite the name calling, the denigration and the vitriol against him, he never gave up and he made it his personal dedication to put a chance of a happy future as his goal.
This was my first cosmic kissed book and I really enjoyed the premise of the series and will be reading more. This story had all the feels and plenty of heat.
