The Black Hand. The group of criminals I'd returned to Cypress to destroy, only... things are so much more complicated than I ever knew.
I used to have a plan: kill them all. I used to not care who got caught in the crossfire of my vengeance, but then I realized something. That's not who I am. I don't take pleasure in killing. I kill only when it needs to be done. It is a job, nothing more.
So I'll settle for the one person responsible for my family's death, and while I hunt him down, I'll protect the Black Hand heirs that stole my heart.
Blood will coat the streets of this city, but it won't be blood spilled by my hand. Another killer stalks through the shadows of Cypress, and he's willing to play whatever mind games he must to get me on his side.
The Cobra. I can't trust him, and yet... yet I feel drawn to him all the same. Whether he's the moth or the flame, only time will tell.
But forgiveness isn't an option; only cold, hard justice will do.
Evil Spirited is the fourth and final book in the Black Hand series, so expect violence, steamy scenes, swearing, and lots and lots of blood.
Where to start? This book missed me at so many points. I found myself skippy through certain scenes. Not her best work. Although I do like RH, this one was overkill. Th plot was good and well written. This will not stop me from reading CM Wondrak's books.
*Spoiler Alert* * * * * * I understand and like the heirs being in the harem, but I wished Misha could have stayed. I think they were on the verge of being civil toward each other. I know everyone deal with pain differently, but did she have to fall on Atticus d@?k as well. I mean whoever had a boner, Shay was ready to get on it. She had Dex, Jett, Atticus( that's the twin's dad...yes she get it on with him too), Shade and Nix. There's a scene in here that probably shouldn't have been, but to each its own. I wish you could have left out the part where Tristan was kissing and grinding on Shay. He knew who she was all along, whereas he just felt familiar to her. I'm someone who will clap with strong FC, but she just wasn't it.
I really didn't like this book, it ends with Shay still hiding things from some of the men, the author kills one of the guys that she kept letting us think that would be at the harem, Shay still seems to have romantic fellings toward her brother, ....

Ugh this is kinda hard because I really really liked this series. Things kinda took a turn last book but I was keeping a open mind. However that death hurt cause I was really hoping for something there (that chemistry tho). Then the kiss felt out of place in my opinion. And of course I fell for the bad guy, story of my life. But then he turned into something that there was no coming back from and I don’t even know what to think.
Overall I really enjoyed the first couple of books but kinda sad about the final book. Honestly don’t even know .. 🥺
I have been waiting for this book since reading book 3, extremely curious about the direction the author was planning to take it. One thing I did like about this series was it is a bit different from other books of a similar genre. Not so much in relation to the crime family aspect but in the relationship choices. Plus there was a question about whether the author would cross another boundary in an extremely taboo way, which I won't answer in this review. I think 1 thing that let the story down was that it kind of felt like for the first section of the book was simply counting down scenes with each of her guys 1 by 1, intermingled with scenes with her and the Cobra. I've seen this in some other reverse harem books where the author seems to feel that there a requirement to provide a sex scene with the heroine with each of her boyfriends, and I get it, its hard in some RH books to build connection with so many guys, particularly when they aren't all stuck in the same space, and aren't a fully cohesive group, which with this group of men really isn't possible anyway. I'm glad that we finally get full answers about past history, the whys and how's. I feel like there was a little inconsistency between Shay's memory and the description provided but I'd probably have to go back to the first book to check. I think we learnt from book 3 that no character is safe, and this definitely was true in this book. I admit I had some assumptions in previous books that didn't pan out, and I think I'd worked out in this book that it likely wouldn't and then the possibility was completely removed ... I know cryptic but trying to avoid spoilers. I thought the ending was good. Its always nice to reach the end of a series and not have to deal with another cliffhanger. Its also a relief to finish a series when I feel like I'm in the middle of so many. Overall, I think the author produced a really good series. I don't think 5 star but definitely potential for 5 star and certainly a lot more interesting than some of the other options out there.
I was deciding at the end between 4 or 3 stars, but finally decided on 3.
I loved this series but... I have mixed feelings. I feel like there were a lot of things unresolved. Like for example them confirming that Nixon killed his parents and Atticus' wife, the twins finding out that Nixon in their half brother. That they left the Cobra alive I didn't like either and feel it's not really a true ending to his story. I would have liked more of Atticus and Shay to come out, he really is my favorite character of all the harem boys and we didn't get many scenes with him either so it bothered me.
Misha getting killed off...that hurt, because there wasn't really a chance for him to have a thing with Shay even though he was attracted to her and for the author to put Shay at the end as not liking him as a member of the harem also seemed kind of inconsistent to me after all the chemistry. And the epilogue, with all the harem members' points of view I didn't like either, I don't know, I was hoping for a better ending to the series. And although next year there will be a new series in the same world of the Black Hand, it won't be the same because it's not the same protagonist, so I won't read it. The rest... well it was good and I really liked all the characters.

I absolutely loved this series and this book brought everything to an end, not a tidy and clean end but a heart breaking and bloody end. This has been a favorite of mine since book 1 and the momentum continued throughout the series.
Some more taboo themes were explored in this book but tactfully done…I know it doesn’t sound possible but trust me on this. While this author doesn’t stray from the darker themes in her books, this pen name is purposely for the more darker taboo concepts so I expected the little bit of it that we got. The author did a great job creating the forbidden connection between Shay and Cobra. The reluctance of Shay was obvious which then spread to me as the reader. It was all about how the author written the characters and their relationships.
I would love to come back and see these characters later on I’m their lives. I would even love to see some of the other characters pop up in their own series later on.
This was the last book in the Black Hand series and it was full of secrets, violence, and steamy scenes!
I don’t think there are any spoilers here BUT, if you haven’t read any of this series yet or haven’t made it this far, you may want to skip it just in case. You’ve been warned! * * * * Ok, I’ve given you enough room to skip the rest! I want to preface this by saying I have a love-hate relationship with series endings. Some are REALLY good and wrap things up in a satisfying way and I’m content to move on; some leave me feeling like ‘What?! Why is this ending now! I need more!’; and some leave me feeling a bit frustrated. I would say this fall into the first category. A lot of questions were answered and loose ends cut in this book that seemed to leave things nicely wrapped up. I do wish I felt a little more excited about reading this. While I have enjoyed the series as a whole, this last book left me feeling a little disconnected for some reason. Its entirely possible its just me so take that with a grain of salt! However, this was such an interesting series! It brought something a little different to the RH situation with a plot that twisted and turned. I felt like the characters, particularly the guys, were very different from some others I’ve read, definitely didn’t all get along, and can be considered not even that close (it is often true in many RH that the guys are pretty tight-knit) EXCEPT where Shay was concerned. It provides an intriguing dynamic. Some of the things I would like to talk about would ruin the ending SO, I will refrain from doing that and let you read the ending! I will say there are some unexpected surprises and no one is safe.
Honestly while I found most of this series intriguing and where written in such a way they pulled you in, while I absolutely loved the first 3 books I found I really did like the ending or this book, personally this book ruined it for me.
Possible Spoilers Ahead.....
What happened to Misha completely sucked I honestly thought he was going to be one of the guys.
How they dealt with the Cobra didn't sit well with me especially after everything that happened.
And I just felt like the Harem was never really that, they didn't really do anything together and it just seemed like one boyfriend past her off to the other when his time was up, they never felt like a real unit.
Forget the ballpark! This series hit it out of the galaxy!
For me, this has to be one of the top favorite series by this author. It was so dark and twisted and so so delicious! I really figured out the mystery man early but I still was shocked by him in general which was awesome!!! And each person in this series was so developed that you couldn't help but love or hate or both in several cases! It was so easy to get emotionally invested in the story. And I must say, the sex wasn't good. It was so hot it overloaded my a/c and broke it! Yes it was that hot! (Well it may have been the unit that malfunctioned but it sure was an odd coincidence if that's what it was!) Anyway, if you like dark, twisted, incredibly hot reverse harems, don't miss this one!
I am not going to lie I skipped to the end of book 4 because I was over this but wanted some resolution though that really didn’t happen given el psycho still alive.
So here’s the thing this sounded like it be a great series and right up my alley but the execution was painful. Fmc wasn’t a badass anywhere but in her head and that pretty much went for all the men too.
And that was the fundamental problem the characters were just wordy badasses in their heads when in reality they read like horny teenagers have bland sex. It was just boring to read and nothing made you root for any of the characters which meant I did not care whatever one way or the other, especially when I figured out the family annihilator was the plot twist — 🙄
Holy fires on a firecracker what a deliciously twisted, bloody, heartbreaking, ruthless, mentally unstable, with some sick twisted stuff in it. I'm gobsmacked with the ending! I mean literally gobsmacked! I was so very conflicted by Tristan, his obsession with his sister having gone way past too far, and definitely incestuous which he at least fought himself over. Mental illness is no joke. I definitely wouldn't mind a novella update on the black hand, and Tristan as well.
4.5/Stars This book has such serious twists and turns, that both are tragic and steamy! The truth is out and now the fall out has to come. Celene is really Shay Arrowwood, and everyone is going to find out. Killing Cobra is the only revenge she seeks now. But will the truth behind who the Cobra really is be too much for her and the guys to handle? This book answers this and so much more, but I am so not giving that away. I will say that the guys in this book and the steam are very good, as well as the vengeance and blood shed! TW 18+
I liked this series because Shay was not the typical female victim. She owned her men & accepted them with all their faults and they in turn accepted her need for an unusual relationship. However, the Mask's taboo obsession with her made me a little sick, especially because she seemed a little fascinated as well. Yuck. I was saddened by someone's death and disappointed because I was hoping something would work out with that person. There seemed to be too many obsessed psychos running around that city which kind of jumped the shark there.
Wow what a freaking amazing ending to a fantastic series! I do t even know what to say. Everything that went down was exactly how it should be. Shay was so me baddie even after everything she still hear a heart and soul. The relationships between her and the guy was still growing and great to see. This series had so much pain. So much heart ache it made you feel every emotion Shay was going through. My heart bled for her. Fantastic ending to such a great series
Well,I ice the storyline and the characters! I guessed my way through it all which was frustrating! Ideally wanted a true BAD KICK ASS heroine but all she did was screw everyone and their daddy and remind everyone what she was capable of. I wished she would have killed, maimed, bathed in blood.....if finished the series only because I just knew it was gonna get better and I paid for it on the synopsis alone!
Definitely one of my favourite series of the year. Loved everything about it.. the guys are great but Nix is still my favourite.. Jett, Dex, Slade and Atticus are fantastic and I really do love them all but nothing beats a good psycho and Nix meats that in every possible way. Shay is bad*** and I'm glad she stayed strong throughout the series.. she was kick*** from start to finish.
Brilliant series. Shay is finally getting answers but they are not really the answers that she wants to hear. Atticus as head of the Black hand has been keeping secrets but its time for those secrets to come out and what devastation it causes. Dex and Jett are finally learning to work as a team, yet Slade and Nix have their work cut out for them. This was a brilliant read.
I love everything you write and this series is astounding!
Shay is the perfect character. I loved her throughout the series and her relationships with the guys, yum. But i have to say a certain Daddy Atti is my favorite 😋
Evil Spirited by CM Wondrak is the fourth and final book in The Black Hand Series. This series is such a well developed world. There was so much happening in this series and I loved it all. All the characters were well developed, raw, and real. Now I have to go find more books by Wondrak to read to fill this hole left by these books being over.
Will this book was a shocker to say the least Discover this author by accident Didn’t think I would enjoy 😉 but nope couldn’t put this 4 part series down It was that DARN good 👍 Keep me interested and I figure out the most part or how it would turn out very quickly Won’t give away the whole story but please go find her you will be happy that you did!
I liked this RH, the characters were good. But I just felt the amount of redundancy was kinda boring. They just kept saying the same thing over and over. The last 2 books, even though I read them were hard to get through at points because of how predictable it was. It’s an okay series if you just need to read something.
I was willing to look past Shay getting down with basically anyone with a working dick up to this point. Her interlude with Nix had me a little ehhhhhhhh last book, but whatever. I can't get past her and her brother, though. I don't know if that's where this is going (I HOPE NOT), but it's at least one-sided on the part of Tristen, and that's gross. Sorry, I'm out.
Such a great ending to this series. I loved this author and all her works and this one definitely is a top favorite. The spice was spicy and the story was so good. I felt so bad for Shay throughout this final book. I think Nix was my favorite guy of the series towards the end something about his devotion to Shay just did it for me. There were definitely times I cried when someone was gone
Oh wow what an ending Is it wrong that I feel for tristan I feel sad for him locked away and dont get me started on poor misha that was a bit of a shock and pokr Slade and nix 😢 shay is a bad ass though 💪I really enjoyed this Series cant wait for the next installment
I thought this book was a giant cliff hanger. Each chapter left you wanting more and never disappointed you. The love of the guys and the strength of the female MC was beyond my expectations
Seriously?! I freaking love this author! I don't think she has put out a book I haven't 5 starred! This series was AMAZING! I definitely recommend you read this!
This book is a bit dark and twisted but it was good. You finally get to see more character development but I still found some of the relationships a bit unbelievable. The ending was definitely unexpected for me! Not sure I like the ending even if I somewhat understand it.
Wtfffff did I just read!? Like this series went sideways and downhill fast. Atticus is a fucking idiot. The black hand members are all clearly amateur morons. And shay is straight up fucked in the head. Just no.
