Grady Romance #2

All the Right Reasons

Rate this book
Jessie

Most people think of me as the town screw-up. They’re not wrong. I’ve made more mistakes than I care to admit. My biggest mistake of all? Letting go of the most important person in my life. Tracy was my first best friend, my first love— my first everything. After a falling out, I left her and our small town behind, never looking back. But when the big city chewed me up and spit me out, I ran home with my tail tucked between my legs. Now that I’m back, I realize just how stupid I was for letting her go.

Tracy

Seven years. It’s been seven years since I’ve spoken to Jessie. Seven years since I’ve let myself think about him. To do so would be a fall into a downward spiral that I can’t allow myself to plummet into. Again. I finally have my life on track, running my own business, and taking care of the most important thing— me. That is until he blows back into town like a forbidden gust of wind that takes my breath away and reignites the sparks I’ve tried to smolder for so long.

Distance was what I thought I needed to heal from the heartbreak he caused, but now that he’s back, I can’t think straight. Do I listen to my heart and give him another chance, or do I listen to my gut and run like hell to avoid another heartache?

All the Right Reasons is a steamy, small town, second chance romance. Grady Romances are all able to be read as standalone books, but you will get more from reading them in order.

Hmm...since everyone is raving about this masterpiece, let's dissect it a little, okay?

SPOILERS.................

H & h have known each other since they were 5. They were each other's "firsts" and the love of each other's life. (Oh Pleeeese.!😏) . While in their last year of HS, Hero gets in with a bad crowd and begins taking drugs and drinking. He wants to move to Nashville to get away from his small town but heroine does not. They have a fight and break up and 3 days later she goes to his place to apologize and make up but finds him balls deep in with OW (Sheila).

Hero then leaves with a couple of his friends and goes to Nashville where he becomes a junkie and an alcoholic. He meets OW (Gabby) and falls in love. Turns out she is a junkie too and a great catch! He then impregnates her and while the baby is a few months along, OW starts taking drugs again and has a miscarriage. Hero wanted to marry her and make a family but he didn't know OW was still taking drugs when he asked her to try again to have another baby. He eventually finds the OW giving a BJ to her dealer and he breaks things off and comes home.

First page opens to this marvelous Alpha Hero picking up a Blonde (Courtney) who came into the Bar he works at and he decides to have a "quickie" with her while on his break. Just as they are about to get on with it, the OW pulls out some cocaine and he ends things and goes back in because he is trying to stay clean & be reformed for his lost son (the one he had with the OW).

Heroine comes into the bar shortly after, sees Hero, starts flirting and they get back together. (Spoiler alert - blurb is a lot of baloney. There is no pushing away, angst or whatever. So what happened to her being devastated at his cheating, etc you ask? Uhm... I would like to know too! .(No I don't! 🥴).

They start talking and he tells her he almost had sex with the OW because he really wanted to but he had to cut her off when she offered him cocaine as he was a changed man now. (My Hero!🥴).
Of course OW (Gabby - Sorry, this one had WAY too many OW(s)!) comes back into the picture and tries to create some angst but we get to have the privilege of learning they had great sex with him hand cuffing her to their bed and all. Blah, blah, blah...The End & HEA.

Now for the wisdom here, cause you know there is always some sage advice incorporated in these beautiful fictional reads and here it is> Wait for it.......

It's not the man's fault for screwing someone else (especially since the sheets were not even cold yet) when the woman who is supposedly the love of your life tells you to shove off because you want to selfishly ignore her wants & needs and focus only on yours. And how totally RUDE of me to think a woman is justified to kick his ass to the curb and find herself someone worthy who is not a selfish, egotistical, cheating scumbag.... But hey, what's the old saying???... Oh yes, they were young and didn't know better. (Uhm...does that excuse really work?)🧏‍♀️

And just because someone becomes a junkie and can't keep it in their pants, doesn't mean they stop loving you or is not trust worthy. Nope. Doesn't matter if they erased you from their heart and thoughts for 7 years and fell in love with someone else right away who they not only made a baby with but wanted to have a life and more kids with and wouldn't have broken up with them if not for that little itty bit about them cheating on you. Yeah, nothing speaks "Love of My Life" when you can easily replace them with someone else and only come back to you when they kicked you in the nuts.

And it doesn't matter if the "love of your life" is in town for several months and never bothers looking you up. But then again, you can easily be erased, so what the hell?!.. When it's meant to be, you'll get his leftovers. .BTW, where can I find such an ideal man??? Ugh...scratch that. Let's not give the Universe any ideas....) 😂🤣

And my favorite - nothing wrong with telling the love of your life whom you betrayed several times mind you and haven't seen for 7 years, that you were horny for another woman right before she walks back into your life. Yeah, that one would really work if I was just single again to try it on an ex. Hmm.... Anyone want to test it out? Anyone?

So to wrap up, I can truly see how this is all so romantic and the ideal love story. This should definitely get a Pulitzer Award!

All the Right Reasons by Stephanie Renee is book two in the Grady Romance series. It is a steamy, small-town, second chance, friends to lovers romance that can technically be read as a standalone. We were introduced to Jessie and Tracy in the first book. These two were a former couple and best friends, but they parted years ago. Jessie doesn’t exactly have the most stellar reputation in town and has worked hard to recover from his drug and alcohol addiction. Jessie returns to Grady after seven years and crosses paths with Tracy. Tracy has grown into a strong, smart, independent, and feisty woman after having her heart broken by Jessie. Old wounds have reopened, sparks ignited, and chaos ensues. Will Jessie and Tracy end up together after the dust settles?

I really enjoyed this book. Jessie’s fight to get Tracy back, their connection, love, passion, and heartbreak were written so beautifully. They still love each other after all these years, but things have changed. Their story captivated me from the first page and I couldn’t help root for them. I really loved this couple and can’t wait for more in this series!

In All the Right Things, we were introduced to Jessie and Tracy. Jessie is the not-so-little younger brother to Jonas who is considered the black sheep of the family. The town gives him the side-eye, whispers all around him, all while he's not the same person he used to be, and refuses to be like his father. Tracy used to be Jessie's best friend and ex-girlfriend but she's grown into a beautiful, independent woman who is best friends with Andi, Jonas' wife.

When Jessie and Tracy end up seeing each other again for the first time in years, old wounds are opened and sparks are lit all around them. Sizzling romance brings them back together but drama soon follows Jessie back to Grady. Jessie, while taking care of his business and trying to prove his love for Tracy, ends up lighting a match that may ultimately blow up the relationship forever. Tracy has to make some decisions while learning when to trust and when to throw punches.

Steamy romance with a happy ever after. Can be read alone but I suggest reading All the Right Things first.

Definitely a privilege.
Going from a horrendous blind date to the love of her life, even after 11 years. Tracy has had it and goes into the small town bar and meets the one guy that broke her heart, Jessie. He's the town mess up and still has a reputation, but he's not letting Tracy get a way this time. "Tracy is fragile like a bomb." She is definitely a fire cracker and I loved her, especially in the flea bag hotel near the end. "You still have on your s@x goggles." Jessie is trying so hard to make up for his past mistakes but sometimes he gets caught and it exploded in his face. This was a slow and sweet read about the right way to win the girl.

There are priorities in life, and mine was to finish this book instead of getting the sleep that my body thought that I needed. I loved the first book, but I think that Jessie may have swooped in and stole my heart from Jonas! I found myself falling for Jessie quickly and loved that even though he had a troubled past, his heart of gold made him so perfect!

I also LOVE Tracy and she’s the best friend that every woman needs! She’s so feisty and wild that I wanted to go hang out with her, just to see what kind of shenanigans we could get into.

I absolutely adored this second chance romance and the ending left me with so many warm fuzzies! If you haven’t started this series, be sure to do so! You won’t regret it!

I received an ARC copy from the author to review.

This second chance romance was so beautifully done. It at first felt like a classic story of boy meets girl, they grow up together, and then drift apart only to find each other years later. But I was so wrong!

The connection between Jessie and Tracy you can feel through the writing. It's full of love, passion, steamy bedroom scenes, some tragedy and heartbreak, but also so much joy and happiness.

Once I started this book I was engrossed in their history and what the present/future was laying out for this couple. Not ashamed to say I finished it in one sitting either, it was THAT good.

It took me less than half a day to finish this book, I totally could not put this down! The characters and the plot were really well written. This is a really sweet small-town HEA romance, with a second-chance, childhood best friends to lovers trope. This is book 2 in this series, but it can be read as a standalone as well.

TWs - The MMC has recovered from drug addiction and it comes up in a lot of the conversations and flashbacks.

Thanks to the author for giving me an advanced digital copy! I enjoyed this book a lot, it really helped to uplift my mood <3

This book this book….. wow it was so realistic and cute. It’s a true love story. This love between Jessie and Tracy is what I would want if I lived in a small town. I love how it took place in Tennessee. I love how it showed Jessie struggles with drugs. This does have some triggers if drugs are a no for you . This is a mature book. It has all the right spicy.

I loved All the Right Reasons: A Grady Romance: Book 2 (Grady Romances). Jessie & Tracy had the best chemistry & were just a fun couple to root for.

All the Right Reasons is the second book in the Grady Romance series but can be read as a stand alone.

Looking forward to reading more in this series

I really adored the story of Tracy and Jessie! It was a tale of second chance romance. They went their separate ways after graduating high school and meet up seven years later. After "experiencing the world" as Momma Mitchell calls it, they finally get a second chance to be together. Jessie's past is damaged, and when he returns to his hometown of Grady, his reputation is in tatters from his bad choices while away. Tracy is a strong, stubborn woman determined to make a life for herself in Grady and content to do so without needing a man. Jessie describes Tracy perfectly, "fragile like a bomb. She can be sweet as molasses, but the moment you p*ss her off, she will make you wish you were never born." The story is full of steam, and Jessie's dirty talk may just melt you into a puddle. Momma Mitchell is such a great side character in this book. Always there to listen and give it to you straight. She is a delight. I enjoyed reading more about Andi and Jonas as well. The Grady Romance series books are great small town romances you want to read!

A perfect tale of second chances- whether in love or life.

I really enjoyed learning Tracey and Jessie’ stories. The latter has quite a reputation that he can’t seem to shake. To his small town he’ll always be the town screwup. Tracey is a firecracker and I love it. Their road back to each other is filled with hot and steamy scenes that will melt your book.

This is the first book I've read by the author. I really enjoyed reading Tracy and Jessie's second chance. You know I cannot pass up the chance to read good second chance romances. I could not put this down. I was so intrigued and captivated by their story and wanted them to get their HEA. Both of them are such amazing characters.

Loved it. Small town romance. Second chances, best friends to lovers. Jessie had a drug problem and everyone thinks he is going to be like his dad was. The joys of a small town. Tracy was his best friend, and he broke her heart. Now he gets a second chance. She still loves him, and is willing to give him another chance.

Stephanie does it again in All the Right Reasons. In this sweet second chance romance things are not as the town thinks they see them as.

Jessie is trying to start over after his life of drugs and alcohol made him second guess what he was doing. He comes back home after living in Nashville. He is cleaning up his life and wants to have a fresh start. In walks Tracy, his childhood best friend and girlfriend. Will he find out why things went wrong? Can he make amends for what happened? Will his past come back to haunt him?

Tracy lived the last few years with a broken heart due to Jessie. She's a strong-willed, feisty and smart woman that has her own business and doesn't need a man in her life. Well does she still feel the same whenever she sees Jessie? Will the secret come out about the cause of their separation? Will Jessie's sweet ways work & get her to let him in?

Stephanie does a great job of getting you cheering for Jessie and hoping Tracy will give him a chance. I loved the way Stephanie grabs your attention and makes you not want to put the book down.

All the Right Reasons is a fantastic addition to the Grady Romance series. It had it all: small town, second chance romance, friends to lovers.

Jessie and Tracy have fantastic chemistry! After going their separate ways after high school, their lives took very different turns. What remained was the feelings that they had for each other.

The story is intriguing and I couldn't put it down!

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Jesse takes the cake! 🔥

I thought I loved Jonas and Andi, but my goodness Tracy and Jesse take the cake! I’m obsessed with the fact that they became best friends in kindergarten and inseparable for several years. I laughed so hard when Tracy and Gabby met in a hotel room! Jesse was such a lost soul and I just wanted to give him a hug and tell him it would be ok.

I love a good cowboy

Stephanie promises Dirty Mouthed Cowboys in her Grady romance series and MAN did she deliver in this one. Jessie's dirty talk is earth shattering. There was a lot less of the cow oy aspect in this book than in her first, but it flowed well. Jessie is a different kind of guy and this was true to his story. I can't wait to start reading Book 3!
