Vanished is Season 2 Book 1 of the Robin Matthews Psychological Thriller series, written by Audrey Walker. I swear, poor Robin Masters just can't help but get caught up in serial killer cases. Even though she retired a year ago, the Captain weasels himself into getting Robin to come back to investigate the murder of a man who has been dead for fifteen years. I immediately thought either Witness Protection or faking his own death for some reason. You'll have to read the book to see if I guessed right, or if I have mush for brains. Robin's sister, Abby, has had a baby boy since the end of Season 1. Robin is living with Kyle, but her constant nightmares and the guilt she feels over last year's Executioner case has kind of put a barrier up between Robin and Kyle. She feels guilty about Captain Roy dying to save her, and she feels guilty about Officer Andrews, the young man who wound up being the Executioner. I had guessed early on that he was the Executioner because of foreshadowing narration and certain dialogue spoken. And now Robin has to deal with a satanic cult that kidnaps and murders people all in the name of God. The poor girl can't keep herself from getting kidnapped, this time by a whole sick group of individuals. What's going to happen to Robin? Will Kyle of somebody else be able to save her this time. I gave this book 5 stars.
This series returns and you couldn't ask for anything more. Robin has been away from the police force for around a year and she is starting to miss it. She has tried various jobs, but just can't seem to get motivated. Kyle gets a call that is about a body that has just been found and heads out. Just as Robin is thinking about it, she receives a call from the Captain who asks her to help with that same case. The body is identified as an individual that was supposedly dead from an accident that happened many years ago.
As Robin and the rest of the team search for evidence, they come up empty. While Robin was home, she received a visit from an unknown party who was able to supply information that provided a lead. As Robin look into this information, she discovered a pattern. One of the incidents that was similar had Robin and Kyle going to a distant town to check out a story that Robin discovered. When they got to that location, things didn't work out as expected.
To discover what this all related to and what occurred when Robin and Kyle got to the distant town, then you need to read this book. It will leave you wanting more.
Another incredible edge of your seat thriller in this series by Audrey Walker that will keep you turning pages until the end! Robin, having turned in her detective shield after solving the last traumatic case is home trying to find where she feels she belongs by taking menial jobs hoping she can straighten herself out and get rid of the nightmares that keep plaguing her. When a very strange case comes up and Kyle gets a call to the scene, the captain calls Robin and wants her help with this case. We are treated to so many twists and turns and the occult, satanic rituals and red-herrings. Robin and Kyle pull no punches when they try to figure out who the murderer could possibly be. Without giving anything else away, this book in the series will draw you in from the first page. Will Robin be able to solve this murder without getting her deeper into her personal ordeals. I really like this series and this book does not disappoint! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own!
A Great Addition To This Series When I found out that Audrey was adding to the original five (5) book Robin Matthews series, I was thrilled, as I had really enjoyed her character and the series to that point. And "Vanished" did not disappoint. Robin has left the police force after The Executioner case was solved, but was struggling in both her personal and professional lives. Her nightmares resurfaced and the menial jobs she took on never worked out. When a bizarre murder occurs and the PD is looking for help, the Captain calls her back to consult. From there, things get really interesting, again. As always, Robin does not do this halfway, and puts herself in harm's way. The story unfolds and the facts of the case are very twisted. A quick, engaging read that is well worth your time. I am a member of Audrey's ARC Team.
Born again Christian, Bane Vince's bloodless corpse is found spreadeagled and Satanically desecrated, fifteen years after he was supposedly dead. His officially-exhumed coffin is empty. Detective Robin Matthews must risk all to get to the truth, helped by her sidekick (and lover), Kyle. How can a corpse 'die' twice? Who is Adrian Evans? Who else is killed for helping Robin? When is she later duped by a supposed cult escapee?
A denouement full of danger for our impetuous heroine, sees Robin fall into a trap from which there may well be no escape. Without backup, who will know where the so-called Redemptionists have her held?

Robin Matthew's is back again with a new exciting and thrilling story. After being away from the police force for a while, she is brought back in on a strange new murder case. Robin is back in her element again and gives this case her all, risking everything and not surprisingly, putting herself in danger. I really enjoyed reading the previous set of books, and am glad she is back with more. Ms. Walker does an exellent job of building the intrigue and suspense and creating plot twists that will keep you guessing till the end. This is a series you will easily get hooked on! I definitely recommend!
I received a free copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Although Robin quit being a detective about a year ago, she still missed the challenges of the job. She and Kyle are now together. One night Kyle receives a phone call and it all begins again. A gruesome murder has occurred and the captain contacts Robin asking for her assistance. Join Robin and Kyle as they discover a dangerous cult is kidnapping and murdering people. Will they undercover the location of this cult and who is the mastermind behind it all? This story was very intense with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat.
There’s a lot of information that the author provides on symbolism and cults. I for one enjoy the research that an author does to make the book more enjoyable and informative. To me it adds weight and value and makes my reading experience just that much more involved. I’m glad to see that there will be more books for Robin as I like the characters in this series. I’m also glad to be heading off into a new direction. I can’t wait for the next read! This is an arc review.
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Robin's back! Another adventure for Robin. Clearly still traumatised but reluctant to admit it or ask for help - no change there, she returns to consult for the police on a cult based murder. Robin is stubborn, reckless and selfish, not considering the consequences of her actions, just needing to solve the case. As usual, she ends up in danger.
I received a review copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Book #6 in the Robin Matthews series is a short, fast paced thriller. Robin and her partner/lover are involved in solving a murder that may be associated with a cult. There is danger, suspense and twists and turns that kept me flipping pages as fast as I could! Warning: there is a cliffhanger. I’m anxious to read the next addition to see how Robin gets out of the predicament she’s in! *this honest review is based on a complimentary copy from the author*
What a convoluted adventure!! This is down the rabbit hole with a shovel so the reader can dig deeper. And deeper. Robin outdoes herself in this series of books. As usual, she puts her best foot forward, right on top of the banana. This series makes us wonder about the author! What a twisted mind she has to have to come up with a devious plot. You won’t put this one down until you are finished with them all. I received an ARC copy for an honest review.
Robin has retired after the Executioner case. But a dead body is found and the Captain wants her help. Robin and Kyle are working the case. Robin ends up captured by a cult and more killings occur. Meanwhile Kyle is trying to find her. This is another fast paced, edge of your seat thriller. Join in as Robin and Kyle try to put the pieces together and get away from the cult and solve the murders.
This novella grabs you from the beginning and keeps you enthralled. A body of a man is found at the cemetery tied and posed in a satanic faction. Robin left the police force and realized how much she misses the work. The captain calls her and asks for her help on this case. A cult and a lot of missing people. Another murder of someone asked for help identifying a symbol. Another page turning thriller.
The sixth book in the Robin Matthews series follows on from an unexpected ending to the previous novella; disappointingly it ends To Be Continued. I found the reference to satanic rituals, and psychological tactics, linked to cults, compelling reading. I received a complimentary readers’ group copy; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Robin Williams has had a truly traumatic last year as a police detective due to her past. While her situation has been resolved she is still on leave recovering when a new case catches her attention. This book moves quickly, consistently keeping the reader's attention as the storyline develops. I do not believe in reiterating a storyline as I feel it takes away from a reader's enjoyment. The story is well written as it draws the reader from one action to the next. While more of a serial novelette, it will keep a reader's attention until its conclusion.
Audrey Walker takes Robin Matthews into her darkest case yet. A dead body is found in a graveyard, recently killed but everything points to him having been dead for over fifteen years. The author takes one on a terrifying journey into the world of cults and dark Satanic rituals. Deliciously dark and demonic.
What has Robin gotten herself into now? These books are so full of suspense that you can’t put them down. The characters seem real and the author makes you feel like you’re right there with them. This is an excellent series that grabs you immediately and won’t let go. The end of one book takes you straight into the next one.
I'm amazed that this author can write so many fantastic novels, I hope that she never stops writing. Her books are some of the best Entertainment I have read and worth the time to read them. Thank you for a very fun entertaining read.
Robin Matthews is plagued by nightmares of the Executioner. She had resigned as she blamed herself for the murders perpetrated by the Executioner and also for his death. However, fate has something different in store for her when a man is brutally murdered. Robin Matthews is asked by her former boss to investigate. Her findings land her into the clutches of a cult. This is another totally absorbing book by Audrey Walker. Her Robin Matthews series is a must read.
Another brilliant episode of Robin Mathews and the troubles plaguing her mind. Well written, exciting, great characters and action packed as always. Another winner for me. I received this arc for free and wanted to give an honest review.
