Millie Copper, writer of Cozy Apocalyptic Fiction and preparedness mentor, was born in Nebraska but never lived there. Her parents fully embraced wanderlust and moved regularly, giving her an advantage of being from nowhere and everywhere.

Millie Copper lives in the wilds of Wyoming with her husband and young son, tending chickens and attempting a food forest on their small homestead. After living off the grid for several years, they've recently gone back on the grid. Four adult daughters, three sons-in-law, and five grandchildren round out the family.

Since 2009, Millie has authored articles on traditional foods, alternative health, homesteading, and preparedness-many times all within the same piece. Millie has penned seven nonfiction, traditional food focused books, sharing how, with a little creativity, anyone can transition to a real foods diet without overwhelming their food budget.

The twelve-installment Havoc in Wyoming and six-installment Montana Mayhem Christian Post-Apocalyptic fiction series use her homesteading, off-the-grid, and preparedness lifestyle as a guide. The adventures continue with the upcoming Dakota Destruction series.

Mental Health and the Apocolypse

Millie Cooper tells a fantastic story of life when the world ends as we know it. Her perspective is different from most authors in this genre. The Havoc in Wyoming series puts plenty of emphasis on the mental health aspect of dealing with high stress and constant tragedy. If you are reading this genre to help prepare you for the possibility of such an event, this is a great series to include. Grab your high-lighter and plan to learn many and varied tips, tricks, and pieces of wisdom to help you prepare, survive, and possibly thrive if the day ever comes that you need to know these things. While the information Millie shares in this series is valuable, the biggest take away for me is the recognition of how different people will respond emotionally, and mentally. It is said being mentally prepared to face life at the end of the world as we know it, will be critical to survival in the new world we may find ourselves living in. Millie is very clear in her story that those who have a relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ are much better equipped to deal with whatever happens next, than those who have not yet come to know Him. Knowing where your hope lies, brings peace to hearts and minds of those living in the chaos of a world falling apart.

I enjoyed immersing myself in the saga, and stories told from points of view of multiple characters. I learned a lot about prepping, and I appreciated the clean reads.

With Havoc many Heroes are made, spoiler near the bottom

I loved this series! I wish I could give it more stars. It has everything I want in an apocalypse. I loved getting to know Mollie and Jake and all their friends and family. They were amazing characters that I grew very attached to. I loved how the Christian faith was written as an important part of the groups lives. I am inspired to pick up my bible and find verses that were mentioned. There were gun fights and plenty of action. Millie Copper sure knows how to write suspense. I loved how everyone got a chance to be a hero in this story. There was romance and characters, facing problems but who worked hard to keep their marriage and family together. There was lots of great pepper information that I will be utilizing in my own life. As I was getting close to the ending of the story I didn't want it to end. I hope Millie will write an update for the group. I have lots of questions

Spoiler:

On a personal note, I lost my mom a year ago. The death of Mollie was hard for me. It was written so beautifully that it brought me comfort in my own grief. Thank you Millie.

Ok, to start with, I don't typically read Christian books. I am not really into the whole religion thing, but I love this series. I have always liked reading Post apocalyptic books, and I live in Wyoming, so that is why this series caught my attention.

I started with the first book, then skipped several and then read all of the last ones as they came out. Only to go back later and read those that I missed. It is a gripping story. The series is set in fictional towns, but the area it is in, is so true to that part of the state it makes it very believable. Millie Copper makes sure that everything in the books - as far as homesteading, weapons, etc. is correct, where as a lot of authors don't seem to put that extra effort into it. It makes the story so much more engrossing - for me - when the things in the book are accurate and not very generic or made up.

I liked this series so much more than I thought I would and would highly encourage anyone that likes post apocalyptic books to read this series.

Great Series

This story kept me guessing with the twist and turns plus new characters coming in and the author did not leave any loose ends with the characters. I am not sure how she was able to keep the characters stories going and keep enough mystery to keep me entertained. I bought the series and read it in a week and felt like I knew the townspeople and didn’t want the last book to be the end. I will definitely read the next series to find out what happened to one of the secondary storylines this series created. There are repetitive parts but I can see the necessity of this with so many characters and so if it has been awhile since the previous book was read it would jog the memory. I hope Ms Cooper is able to do a series around the children and grandchildren.

This was a great read

This was great. Yes it is Christian based but not to the point that it overshadows the whole book. The scriptures and love for God is beautifully done that even someone that does not believe I don’t feel like it was too much. The characters are many but are so well written they aren’t confusing. I enjoyed that the books are written about other people during the same time so you can see what life is like throughout the entire ordeal. The last book with a different again but it did not lose the story and made it great.
Highly recommend for Christians and non Christians.

Great read

Each story in this set was very good. I enjoyed the pure gumption in each survivor in getting where they were trying to go and keep surviving. The faith shown in the characters was inspiring. In prepping for an unknown event and falling short in so many ways and finding ways to continue on was definitely an eye opener. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone but know the Christian religion is there as much as the prepping and fighting for survival so if you have an issue with that, I would say skip it.

Havoc in Wyoming

I read the complete set in 8 days. Over 3000 pages. You can guess I did not do much of anything else! But I couldn’t stop reading it. I read 36 to 40 books a year so this will up my average for the year, no doubt! Good thing I’m retired. These books are excellent. The characters become your family and you sometimes get too engaged and read much later than you plan to because you have to find out if they are successful at whichever project that is going on. I highly recommend it.

Could not put it down

Each book was great, the last one made me cry. I would of liked to know if ,if the group leaving before all the havoc in prospects were all safe . one had crush on one of the girls, and 2 of the best sharp shooters was with then. Did they find the boy at camp, I guess we will never know.I am glad I bought the books so I can read them again. Lots of prayer and bible reading and learning was wonderful.

An excellent series!

I chose this series on a whim when the authors I regularly read didn't write fast enough for me. The Caldwell family have become more than characters in a story for me, they have become family. Millie has really written an excellent series set apart from most authors in this genre. With her writing, she has reminded me of what's missing in my life. No clues but please take the time to read it, you will see the worth.

Absolutely Believable and Realistic

I couldn't put this series down! It's absolutely believable and realistic, especially considering today's political, social and spiritual conditions! Even today, as WW III stands at the brink, and Russia, China, Iran, North Korea wagging the tail at a corrupt, incompetent and traitorous US government...it could happen at any moment! This should be required reading!

Just amazing

This was my first book by this author. Mollie, Jake and their huge brood were the best kind of people. They give me hope that if this did happen we would overcome it. This book had it all. I laughed and cried. I loved the different POVs. I do wonder about something’s left unanswered. I loved the Christian aspect. Made me think a lot and I’m great for it. My only complaint is that we never found out who set the series of events into place us or anything like that. I highly recommend Havoc in Wyoming.

America under Attack

This was a great story. With many twists and turns, romance, friendships, attacks, little warlords trying to take over, families becoming one, all the normal SHTF scenarios, but also God's abiding Grace. No it did not have a Happy Ever After Ending in some ways, but it did in other ways! God is our Refuge!

So difficult to set this down!

Millie Copper has done an excellent job of not only creating a could-be-realistic even, but has also skillfully created several complex characters in a rich landscape. I love following the different chars through the event, learning what they know or don’t know, and how that impacts the communities they encounter.

Next, I love how she weaves faith, introspection, anger towards God, and the promises of redemption into some of the characters stories. It’s sometimes hidden, other times blatant, but it really spoke to me in volumes.

Overall, I couldn’t put this down! I will definitely be reading what comes next.

. A Refreshing Take on this Genre

Thank you for including both seniors and kids as valuable members of your cast. The problems the group must overcome were realistic and both The kids and the grands were treated respectfully. While illness and death are part of life they did not overwhelm the narrative .A good read.

Armageddon ?

This series of books about an attack on the United States is inspiring! The courage of the people so affected by the bombing of bridges and refineries, nuclear blasts and resulting EMP taking out electronics is a testament to the strength to humanity! Knowledge of survival techniques and Christian faith enable many to take care of the, selves and others.

Greatread

I chose this rating because this book keeps your attention. You learn to love the people and get wound up in their lives. I love they loved the Lord and never gave up even when horrible things happen. Also, unlike many dystopian novels the future seemed hard but getting back to normal.

A Series That Captured My Heart

This series is one of the best I have read. I was very sad to reach the end. Hopefully we will see more of Baskerville and the characters I learned to love.

A long series, very interesting

I very much enjoyed this series. A different slant than most catastrophic fiction. The emphasis on Christianity and community was forefront. Telling the stories from different characters perspectives was a nice touch. Definitely worth the time.

It will make you cry

I stayed up until after 4 most nights reading this book. I knew where it was going towards the end but I was still surprised at how hard it hit me as Mollie died. My tears were real and my faith in the Lord reaffirmed.
