the saga of Bob and Nikki continues in its well-established way. There is plenty of the type of dialogue the series has become known for, more good old boy wisdom, with more robot, alien, and human hi-jinks along the way as well.
Some plotlines are sown up, other new ones emerge with another variation on the lost flier theme the most intriguing. The second half of the book deals with bob and company hopefully coming to an agreement of sorts with the US government and being allowed back home to Missouri. Whether this is the actual case and how the rest of the world reacts we have yet to see.
Now into its 17th volume, the series remains pretty much as it has been from the start, amiable, humorous storytelling. If you like this style it's the series strong point, if you're getting tired of it it's the series weakness. I can understand both perspectives. At the moment my love of the characters and style, plus developing plot points are enough for me to give it good reviews and carry on enjoying it.
