I’m a house husband. I keep things together while my wonderful wife makes our living. I’ve worked as a machinist, short order cook, electronics assembly tech, and several other jobs. My hobbies include vehicle maintenance, (I’ve had the transmission out of my truck. Twice) free flight airplanes, electronics, and shooting. I was born and raised in the Ozarks, and now live in Mid-Missouri.
This is a serious you have to come to with an open mind. Especially if you are an avid reader because? It's like 98% dialogue. I've never seen another series like it. Also some continuity issues and some basically magic hand waving and suddenly all their problems are easy to solve. Once you get past that, that's wonderful adventure. I think the series was made for audible. However, I do wish and aggressive editor had gotten their paws on it before it was released. I still recommend it. It's fun. I've read some pretty rough reviews on this series, so just a comment as to the other characters involved that are residents of the town accepting the idea of aliens and spaceships quicker than one might expect. Bob and John both allude to prior military service. For those of us who have been in the service and had seen combat. Because of this, and from my own experience, I would expect them to accept this idea a little faster than most. As for the rest of the town, there are some 'likelihood' issues. But like I said, it's still a fun series.

This book was pure fluff. A little silly and wasn't too heavy on the sci-fi. If you want something mindless to pass the time, you may want to consider this. Filled with hokey dad jokes, this has the potential for a great series. This is quite the commitment with I believe 52 books in the series. Also, there are a lot of characters; who were hard to keep up with. Overall, it was a fun beginning to a comical series but I am not sure I am in it for the long haul.
The various charters are a hoot and the listening to the story was great Therapy just after having major surgery. Narrator does a Great job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.
Audiobook version. The audiobook narrator was a little strange to listen to at first, but then I realized that the narration fit the Jerry Boyd’s writing style. It’s not great literature, but it’s fun.
