This was a fun catch up with Owen & Becca and even some insight on some of the other couples in this series.
It was a nice look into their relationship while they are trying to maneuver parenting and their everyday lives.
I loved the extra short story KR threw in at the end for Preston and Essex. Also, the bonus material of the deleted scenes from some of the other books.

I loved revisiting the Hot Jocks characters, especially Owen and Becca.
It warmed my heart catching up with them and seeing how they're balancing family life and still keeping the romance alive.
Breaking the Rules is a quick and sweet read and a lovely addition to the Hot Jocks series.

4.5 Star Review Breaking The Rules (Hot Jocks #8) by Kendall Ryan
I was excited to dive in to Breaking The Rules and even better we get updates on the men and women we have met and loved before. This book primarily centres around the continuation of Owen and Becca’s story and then we have Preston’s story.
It was wonderful to catch up on all the characters that we have come to love. Owen and Becca’s story brought back memories of bringing up my children. It will tug at your heart and was realistic as they struggle to juggle the kids. I could feel the emotions that these two went through and . The connection that Owen and Becca have is soul deep and made my heart melt.
Preston and Essie’s story was everything I hoped for. He is such a swoon worthy, loving man who deserves to find the happiness that his team mates have found. I was disappointed when their story ended. Is Essie the woman who will be Preston’s forever?
They may have been short but they were fabulous reads and are great additions to one of my favourite series.

Kendall Ryan gives you a insight on the reality of real life. Juggling kids, husband and a household. Such a sweet and heartwarming story! And to top it all off , there’s a second story added on! Breaking The Rules is a fun short read!

If you’ve read the Hot Jock series then this is a book you’ll want to check out!
It was fun and sweet. The first half of this novella is from Becca and Owen’s POV and there is no shortage of the rest of the group. It truly is a fantastic catch up and sneak peak into their lives years down the road.
While catching up with everyone else, there is also a new rookie introduced and I LOVED that he get a little short story. It was fun, quick, and the two characters had a ton of chemistry from the start. It was a roommates to lovers/friends with benefit situation.
If you love the Hot Jocks series and love hockey romances this is one to check out!

Just a quick novella to catch up with Becca and Owen. The other guys and their families made their appearances too so it was fun to see how they’re doing. And I loved that we get Preston’s story too.

3 stars for Breaking the Rules
Becca and Owen’s epilogue story. It was cute and sweet and short. Nothing too major happened and it was nice to catch up with some of the gang in the future. Of course, Becca and Owen were the stars because they have to be Kennedy Ryan’s favorite couple of this series (they appear in everyone else’s stories like a disproportionate amount). Elise and Justin, Ana and Grant, and Harper and Justin make appearances but that’s it from the gang. No one else was even mentioned actually which was very disappointing. I would have probably bumped my rating up half a star if we heard anything about my favorite couple Teddy and Sara or even my second fave couple Asher and Bailey (who were pregnant at the end of the last book). I would have even taken an update on my least favorite couple, Landon and Aubree, if it meant we got to hear about the whole gang again.

Everything that occurred was perfect for a novella so I don’t even know how it could be made into a full length novel but that is my only critique! I wish it was longer and we got a full book about these two because I think they are both very interesting characters.

Reading this book was like being excited for a family reunion and not being disappointed!!
We get more of Becca and Owen in Playing for Keeps along with their besties and their families. I loved revisiting these characters and seeing how they are all doing.
We also get a short book about Preston (rookie on the current team) and his love interest, Essie. Her sass and disinterest in his profession puts him in his place and just makes him want her more!
And as if that wasn't enough... Kendall gives us some EPIC deleted scenes from previous books!! I DIED laughing with Justin and Owen, swooned hard with Owen's love letters, and got hot under my collar with Asher and Bailey in that last scene!!
All in all, if you're a fan of this series, you simply HAVE to have this book!! It had me wanting to queue up the audios for a re-listen!!

Back to the Hot Jocks! This is a cute novella where we revisit Becca and Owen and see where their life has taken them since the ending of their story. As life has it, there is constant curveballs, and we see Becca extremely exhausted raising the kids while Owen seems to be in denial that he needs to retire. Things get even more sticky when Becca finds out she is pregnant, and Owen doesn’t provide his usual reaction. Thankfully, Owen recovers with making the right decision for his family rather than his passion, and we see the couple start to work on the next phase of their relationship. Hope we get more novellas in this series to catch up with these characters!

It’s great to catch up with our favorite hockey hotties. Life is no longer puck bunniies. These guys are all about wives and their kids. Navigating parenthood and a career. Hockey used to number one but love changes priorities. Our boys are all grown up.
The author will throw in a sweet and sexy short story and some deleted scenes to satiate your need for more of these hot jocks.
I love this hockey family the author created. It’s great to witness them all coming full circle. This was a fun read.

I absolutely enjoyed catching up with the crew a few more years in the future. Watching them navigate real feelings, and things that come up in marriage was refreshing to see. We also got a short story about the new rookie and I fell in love with him!

There is a novella about a new character as the 2nd part of this, but it's essentially an extended epilogue for the Hot Jocks titles, which is a lot of fun if you have read and enjoyed all of them, as I have.
It was fun seeing old characters, and meeting a couple of new ones too...and I definitely enjoyed revisiting these characters. If you haven't read the series, don't start here...start at book one and when you get to this one, you will be glad you did!

Breaking the Rules is a novella in the Hot Jocks series by Kendall Ryan. I absolutely love this fun, short and sexy story for Owen and Becca. We get to see what they are up to and how they are dealing with life, hockey and kids. It was sweet and sexy. We also get a bonus story with the new rookie, Preston. Swoon! Loved this friends to lovers story. And last but not least, the bonus stories. Holy moly! I laughed out loud and remember why I love all these guys!

Breaking the Rules by Kendall Ryan takes us back to the Hot Jocks world and I am all here for it. Readers of this series will love this addition to it and will devour it! This novella covers some old friends we love and a new team member and some added bonuses. I loved catching up with previous couples and it was a delightful read that was sweet and charming.

I loved reading more about Owen and Becca’s relationship and see more of all the previous characters. I expected a little more about the other couples but it was nice reading where they were now and how close they still were.
I also loved the new story about Preston, the new rookie of the team, it was short but really good.

Love this story! It gives us a glimpse into life after the happy ever after happens. Loved the rawness and realness of the story and how two people can still love each other not realize what is happening. I loved that it was short but gave us so much into the story.

Too short
Kendall Ryan is one of my favorite authors and while I enjoyed catching up with the rest of the game, Preston’s story was too short for me. I wanted more. Just when the story was getting started, it was over.

As always a perfect book written by Kendall Ryan! I just loved revisiting my favorite hockey players and how they deal with their happily ever after! The story is perfect and has so many good scenes about the future in their lifes.

Nice novella looking into the life of Owen and Becca and how hectic and beautiful it is. They have a lot on their plates and navigating so many things. The gang is also thriving and still as ruckus as ever lol but they’re still very tight knit and supportive of each other. It was great quick read.

There is not one thing that I disliked about this book. It is typical Kendall Ryan. Steam, chemistry, some conflict that gets resolved and the perfect HEA!

I love the Hot Jocks series and this amazing cast of hockey players and their significant others. In Breaking the Rules, we get to spend time with Owen and Becca as parents while he is contemplating retirement. I love the honest look at the ups and downs of parenting as you juggle multiple young kids while trying to make time for each other to keep your relationship healthy. Game for Love is a yummy morsel for the rookie, Preston, and his roommate Essex. For Preston, he loves Essie’s strength and confidence but she is anti-men and relationships. I appreciated that Preston didn’t push Essie which allows her find her path to trusting him and opening up about the challenges in her life. But will she be able to take a chance on love? So much fun and then there are bonus scenes from other characters books as the icing on the cake for this quick escape. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
