I can't really pin it down, but there's an appreciable difference between U.S written comics and U.K written comics. The story, scenarios and the dialogue. It's a nice change from what I used to. When reading RT, I felt so cold. The book definitely has a 'cold' feel to it. Really gives you an idea of the type of apocalypse Rogue is living in. I've always been a fan of lone-soldier, one-man-army type heroes like Wolverine, Punisher and Conan. There's just something to be said about having a small group of characters instead of a large cast. My favourite story was 'Millicom Memories', which basically explains the origins of RT and his companions. If you like apocalypse, end of the world, warfare, good vs evil, revenge, soldier camaraderie, etc then RT is for you.
Ok now I am on track again - with the first book in the series. The stories here tell how helm, gunner and bagman all came to be part of the team they are today. The artwork is very atmospheric of the time - remember this was the early 80s when they were written up - which can be both a joy to read and at others rather taxing - I am no comic book or graphic novel expert but I will admit there are styles and artists who I get on very well with and others I struggle with, I suppose a bit like written authors. Either way I am coming to an end of my Rogue Trooper collection - its been an interesting joinery.
