Did not finish this at about 35%. It wasn’t the writing in itself, but the lack of development of the story. Even at more than a third of the book no surprises had happened, everything was really cliché and superficial. Ad to that that the 2 MC’s were so much in their previous experiences and their hurt and repeating their thinking. I couldn’t connect to them at all. After I skipped more to the end of the book to see if it would improve for me and that didn’t happen I quit reading. Others might like this book though. I saw some positive ratings. Initially I bought the book because of the blurb, but it was not for me.

3.75 stars. Truthfully I started out disliking both main characters in this book. One was a major user and totally self centered and the other was weak and totally without any self confidence or self respect. But….the last 15% everything changed and I ended up liking this story. Also several hot scenes to get your blood up!!

I was intrigued by the synopsis of this book and boy am I glad that I read it!! I loved everything about it! Not many authors can effectively pull off writing a novel from both characters’ points of view. Ms. Billings did a phenomenal job writing as both characters, giving them each strong personalities and adding depth to the plot. This book was a lot of fun to read and I could not put it down. It was was steamy, sweet, and sexy. I look forward to reading more from this author!!

4.5 Voyeuristic Stars

I am totally a voyeur and I enjoyed “watching” Kiera and Evelyn fall in love. There were small continuity errors here and there but overall a great read with some sexy times sprinkled in. Well written and easy to follow. I enjoyed the first person POV with the characters breaking the fourth wall and talking to the audience.
I liked the premise. I was looking to level out my read list after I did some checking and noticed I’m low on my FF and MM reads. I had to rectify that immediately so I went hunting for some FF to read. And I came upon this and the premise just grabbed me. Also I am a sucker for Femme/Femme. 👌🏽
Evelyn Sharpe was cheated on by her seven year girlfriend, but not only did she find out but walked in on them having sex in her shared home, on their bed! This messed up Evelyn and she was angry l as expected. But not only was she mad at her ex, Sera, but also with the bombshell red head other woman, Kiera.
Her anger concocted a plan, a plan to satiate her anger and curiosity: She would sleep with the bombshell other woman to see if she was worth ruining a seven year relationship for, and if her ex found out along the way all the better to stick it to her ex.
Problem there is, Evelyn never thought Keira would be so much more than she bargained for. After one taste she cant get enough. They continue their tryst for a lot longer than Evelyn planned and then she develops feelings for Keira but as Kiera is oblivious to their shared history, she knows she can’t move forward with a relationship between them until the truth is out.
The truth will set you free but first it’ll hurt like a bitch though. Therefore when Keira becomes aware of their history she feels hurt and betrayed, stupid and naive. She storms off and leaves Evelyn behind. But that’s not the end folks.
Some meddling from Sera’s part helps the two love birds get back together and well onto get their HEA! I will admit I disliked the low amount of groveling from Evelyn’s part like she truly was a bitch, how she went about things and Keira forgave her way too quickly if you ask me.
Overall, a fun and easy read with low angst — low but not none existent, with little and short smut added in. I enjoyed it very much and will be diving into another ff read. I recommend but doubt I’ll reread. A good quick and done read, a hit and quit it. Lol

This felt different in a way compared to others by this author...less risque, dominating etc. Perhaps the perceptions that both are femme made it so. Notwithstanding, entertaining revenge to lovers story

I am going to need a break from romance. It has been one POS after another. I wanted to like this one, I really did. And at first, it seemed promising. But the more into I got, the more it lost me.
First of all, this format of 'What happened next, Dear Reader' doesn't do it for me. And not just my distaste for the format, but it was done badly. For instance, one of their POV's does a reader note, and it's weird. To give an example: "What the fuck do I do? I shield my face, but one strategic look, and she’ll recognize me! It’s not like I can hide my hair or my thighs spilling out of this skirt! What? It’s eighty degrees out here! A girl gets hot! Hot, fuck you!" And I'm just wondering why I would be addressed like this? Trust me, they were all that weird, and some weirder.
Keira as a character was a little whishy-washy, which is something that always annoys me. I can't help it. Just figure out who the hell you are, and then tell me, you know? So there was a lot of back and forth to keep up with her, what she wanted, what she didn't, and that got confusing. I never could tell where she was at.
Okay, I didn't finish the book. Not quite. I got 92%. Because I reached the scene where they finally talk, really talk, and the facts of the past...kind of changed. Evie tells Kiera that she knew who she was when she asked her out, mentions the PI. But mere paragraphs later, says, "...and she cheated on me. I didn't find out until the day I came home early and saw the two of you in my bedroom." *throws hands up into the air* Really? Because I remember the beginning of the book. In which Evie explained that she'd known for two months. Because of said PI. She'd been planning to break up with Sera for it, but wanted all of her ducks in a row. And then before she could confront her, she found the two of them together. Uh...so, which is it??
Sorry, I can't go on when you can't even keep your own facts straight. And quite frankly, I'm not invested in this book anyway. 2 stars, and only for making the beginning interesting.

Something Lovable About This Book!
There was something so endearing and lovable about this story. Two women scorned from the same woman. Evelyn sets out to seduce her ex’s mistress- the other woman that help to destroy her seven year relationship. After meeting Keira and putting the plan in motion, Evelyn who seeks revenge and redemption,keeps the incident that went down in her bedroom as her burning reminder. Keira is quite taken with Evelyn when they meet. Even though she knows this is a disaster waiting to happen, she hopes going for drinks with Evelyn will distract from her embarrassment over what happened with her ex. When Evelyn and Keira meet for drinks, they acknowledge where this was going and quickly move to the hotel across from the Lounge. After Evelyn takes control over Keira and she leaves, Evelyn is left with so many thoughts of her. Keira was sweet and naive. Was it possible that Keira did not know that her ex was a cheater. This story unravels and with feelings so deep, Evelyn needs to tell Keira the truth before it all comes falling down. I found this story moved with ease and kept me needing to know how it ends. Great Job!

I want to give this book a good review not because it was remarkable but because it was a chill, laid back read for me. From the blurb, it's pretty noticable that the book is about a revenge. Evelyn has been cheated on by her long time girlfriend and she wants to get back at her by seducing the "other woman".
From the start, I loved the first point of view of Evelyn. I haven't read many books where authors use the first person viewpoint to their advantage, but Hildred does so quite nicely. I also personally enjoyed the cliches of this story. From the very start, or from the blurb itself, we know what's going to happen. The two women will fall on love, and it's a confirmed happily ever after. But I read this story for the cliches, and the cheesiness of it all. It pulled through with me for being a laid back read and I was not disappointed.

This review is for the audiobook version.
This audiobook is wonderful and checks so many boxes for me. I love the noirish nature of the women going back and forth telling the story of their relationship and occasionally breaking from the story to chide the listener for their voyeuristic nature. The story covers the heartbreak of a woman that was cheated on and her plan for revenge that turns her life upside down. Allie Shae did a fantastic job of giving each character their own voice that was easy to listen to and follow who was speaking. This one is going to the top of my favorites list and I will definitely be listening again soon.

This story features the no nonsense business woman Evelyn in her pursuit of younger woman Kiera, the other woman who broke up her long term relationship. As Evelyn pursues Kiera to get back at her she realises thing's aren't always what they seem. She learns that Kiera was unwitting in her part in Evelyn's break up and she co!we to forgive and even fall in love, but can it last?
It's a great story with an interesting dynamic and I fully recommend it.

Great book, it's different to others I've read in the way that the characters direct their attention to you as a reader. I loved that angle as you really felt as a reader that your inside the characters psyche. Great sex scenes in the beginning and middle of the book would have liked more of them towards the later stages of the book, but overall a sexy, insightful narrative that made me really feel the emotions the characters were feeling. I love everything about this book. The characters, the setting, the angst and definitely the lust and love. Evie and Keira were on a collision course that would knock them both of their kilter. Sera unwittingly set it in motion. Even Sera couldn’t fathom the outcome. I, as the reader, was made to feel apart of the story, like I was a silent confidant. An absolutely delicious meal of a book. Whomever dares to read this story, will not be disappointed. 👏🏽❤️😎

Loved the story, a bit too wordy for me, but still well written. Would like to know what follows up: did they get the house, are kids going to be added, but most of all, would like to know what happens to Keira’s boss, does she quit¿ does he finally grasp that not everyone is meant to be married with children, or married to a man for that matter. I love this book. The first person narration added so much emotion to each of the main characters for me. The humor when Evelyn or Keira addresses us "voyeurs" walking through the tale with them is something different and I enjoyed that. The story itself takes a hard situation and act of revenge and makes it palatable. Oh btw did I mention this is also sexy as hell? Well it is. I definitely recommend this book.

Is Hildreth or Cynthia for that matter, a psychologist? An interesting presentation, breaking the "fourth wall" and talking to the reader like we're friends in a lesbian bar. The plot was emotionally complex and I was not sure how it would end. Sera is a real piece of work, with a heart. The character that could have used more fleshing out, emotionally, was Kiera. Why was she so insecure? Was there a brief mention of an unfortunate affair in her past?

Good book
Evelyn was angry after being cheated on by her girlfriend after seven years. Keira just wanted someone to love her but after finding out that she was the other woman she just wanted to lay low. Excellent story, hot, romantic and clever, I enjoyed it a lot. Two women hurt by the same person, a player with no respect or care, two women that found each other, healed and walked forward to the future both deserve despite the circumstances that brought them together, true love always win. . I definitely recommend it.

Kept me on the edge of my seat...
A++ I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Kept me want to know whats going to happen. Loved it not my first stoer from them certainly won't be my last. Hope you keep putting really good stuff put like this. I like being kept on the edge of my seat

An interesting read.
Very readable. And I’m not all that keen on the first person, present tense viewpoint, but this was actually really entertaining, where the reader is invited to look over the character’s shoulder and offer an opinion. Well, sort of.😀 The said characters and plot were certainly different and I was invested in finding out how they reached their happy ending.

The successful businesswoman Evelyn finds out her partner Sera has cheated on her and throw her out of her house. That is however not enough for her, she also plans to get revenge on the other woman, Kiera. Kiera that never knew Sera was lived with someone until they are caught in the act by Evelyn that she never sees since Sera covered her with a blanket. Evelyn decides to seduce Kiera, sleep with her and then drop her as revenge. Things get beyond that plan though, Evelyn develops real feelings for Kiera and struggles with her secret on why she approached Kiera to start with. If she finds out things may for sure implode. Can they find a HEA despite Evelyn’s betrayal?
A quite fun listen even if the story and MCs not favourites. Evelyn is quite the bitch and this type of revenge not something I condone..

A bit different than other books by Hildred Billings. Most have experienced the "what's so great about her?" after being dumped for someone else. This look from a different perspective is good writing.
