Sometimes vengeance isn't enough. There are times when a man is forced to choose the wrong side of the law. When everything is stripped away and ruthless, cold revenge is all that remains. They call me Wraith for a reason. When people need to disappear, I'm the one that's called in. I move through the shadows and strike without mercy. But taking what is mine and leaving me for dead? Yeah, that’s a grave mistake. There's no holding back now. I might have a hell of a lot to lose but it's nothing compared to the suffering I’ll unleash. Halloween is a time when the devil likes to come out and play. But the devil never counted on one of his own beating him at his own game.
*** For best enjoyment, it is highly recommended that Hell's Fury is read before Grave Mistake.
* WARNING - This book contains dark and mature content, human trafficking, and violence with a paranormal REAPER twist.
Nikki Landis is a romance enthusiast, tea addict, and book hoarder. She's the USA Today Bestselling Author of over seventy novels, including her widely popular Tonopah, NV GBMC series. She writes wickedly fierce, spicy romances featuring dirty talkin' bikers, deadly, possessive reapers, wild bad boys, and the feisty, independent women they love. Nikki loves to write character-driven, emotionally raw stories where protective, morally gray anti-heroes fall hard for their ride-or-die.
She's a mom to six sons, two of whom are Marines. Books are her favorite escape.
There is one drawback to the RBMC Tonopah books; I can't get a new one every day. Nikki Landis is by far the best paranormal MC author ever. Amazing, wonderful, fantastic. There's nothing more to say, there aren't enough good adjectives to describe these books.
I knew this was going to be a good book and I wasn't disappointed. Jasper and Tawni's future was stolen from them on Halloween night. He was left for dead and they tried to rape his girl. Now after seventeen years he sees her again by accident and her son Zane. There's plenty of action, redemption and revenge to be had. But there's a lot more to come. Can't wait for the next book.
Wow…Wraith and Tawni both went through lots of hardship before finding each other again. Both believed the other died on a Halloween night 17 years before they meet again. Seems like there are more secrets that are close to coming out. I know one question will haunt me till Biker’s Wish comes out in December😝 and looks like Shadow’s story will conclude in Eternally Mine which comes out next year some time. The whole RBMC Tonopah series is filled with lots of twists, turns, surprises, drama, angst, secrets, revelations, betrayals, things going sideways, heat, and will bring out a range of emotions from readers. I know I got teary eyed, laughed, smiled, got mad, and a host of other emotions. To me all of the elements above make Grave Mistake a book that I did not want to put down and I did not want to be interrupted (have to apologize to my husband as I didn’t cook or do much of anything till o was done reading although I did wait to write the review 😊) I highly recommend Grave Mistake, RBMC Tonopah Chapter series, and Nikki Landis as an author. I will be diving into Papa Noel next while waiting for Biker’s Wish. Seems like a long wait. But it will be worth it as I have not been disappointed not once when reading Nikki’s releases. Happy reading.

Grave Mistake is the seventh book in the Tonopah, NV chapter of the Royal Bastards MC series written by author Nikki Landis. The Royal Bastard MC series (RBMC) is a dark and gritty series written by a collection of amazing authors. Each author tells the story of a different chapter of the RBMC, with each chapter located in a different city. While it’s unnecessary to read all of the books within the MC world, I think you’ll understand and appreciate this story better by reading the Tonopah, NV series from the beginning. With that said, Grave Mistake is best read after Hell’s Fury and before Papa Noel.
Grave Mistake tells the story of Jasper “Wraith” Cornell and Tawni Baker, and I’ve been really looking forward to reading their story. Jasper has been a bit of a mystery to me, and I now understand his need for vengeance. It has been seventeen years since that horrific night, and on every Halloween, the memories haunt him.
Grave Mistake is another fabulous story and a great addition to the series!
This is one of my favourite RBMC Chapters, and I always look forward to a new story from this author.
What starts out as a sad, emotional tale, eventually changes into one of reconnection and happiness, but it takes a lot of years to get there. When Tawni turns up at the Crossroads with a bundle for Naomi, and Wraith realises who she is, and why she's in danger, all his thoughts of leaving her alone disappear. But, will Wraith and Tawni finally get their HEA? Not without putting some old demons to rest.
It's great to see how Wraith changes into the final reaper he was meant to be, and for his family to embrace it all.
There's also the freaky sexy bit..... let me just say, his reaper doesn't like to take a back seat with his woman, at all!!!!
Catching up with the other reapers and families was an added bonus.
If you haven't encountered this RBMC Chapter yet, go get the series and binge read the other books first. If you have already read the others, you're gonna freaking love this.
Its hard to see a future from the past. Wraith is no stranger to this thought. The fury that he unleashed is one of such a man from the past. The epiligues messed with my head a little. I can't wait to see what happens next. Nikki Landis, has proven yet again that she is a brilliant writer with Grave Mistake.
Grave Mistake is book seven in the RBMC Tonopah, NV a s this is Wraith and Tawni's story. This book is so goid. From beginning to end this book keeps the pace going. Wraith and Tawni's story is one that makes you believe in second chances. This book does get graphic so be aware this book is not for the faint of heart. I can't wait to see what's next from Nikki Landis.
Jasper and Tawni have a darker beginning to their story but they get a second chance. This is an incredible story that kept me hooked form beginning to end. There are amazing twists that will you on the edge of your seat.
Wraith and Tawni story was absolutely amazing. Their story was tragic, steamy, romantic with a happily ever after. This has become one of my favorite Nikki's Royal Bastards books. I can't wait for Shadow's story.
Grave Mistake is the 7th book on Nikki Landis’s Royal Bastards MC Tonopah, NV chapter. This is Wraith’s story.
This story is so raw and gritty, Nikki Landis does a fabulous job bringing Wraith’s story to life. There are so many twists and turns. We see how “Wraith” came to be and why he has this need for vengeance.
I love the PNR aspect and it’s one of my favorite MC series.
Oh holy all that is Wraith! Who has not found this series!?! If you are reading this then you know that this is one of my all time favorite series and I am not biased against any of the chapters within the RBMC. I say grab this chapter TODAY! Miss Landis is one that will grab you by the throat and squeeze it just so it puts you in the stratosphere with all the feels you could possibly muster! She is a novice in this genre and one of my favorite authors! Ok I cannot say too much or else I will start word vomiting... here! So I will say this, (deep breath and swallow) You are in for one hell of a ride with this book! Tonopah has NEVER disappointed yet and it only gets better as time flows into this Chapter! Full of twists and turns you will not see coming but you better get yourself prepared for the fallout!
I will state this each and every time I read a book from this author and this Chapter of the Royal Bastards....but I freaking LOVE this Chapter and their Reapers! And this author!! This book has had me in tears, quite literally, and my heart has been in my mouth! But what a ride!! And that end?! Holy shiiiittttt!!! More, I need more!! Bloody fantastic read!!
I Love this MC and the stories author Nikki Landis writes about them! I'm Sooo Loving the ending to this book and I'm already looking forward to reading More Soon!
So, I’ve come to realize I love the damaged characters, there’s something about them that just make the story so engrossing. And, to be fair, I really love a damaged bad boy…
Now take a damaged bad boy, add a beard, make him a biker with tattoos, have everyone think he’s been dead for 17 years, then add the girlfriend he thought died 17 years ago who grew up to be a social worker while raising the baby boy he never knew about, and yup, I read it all in one sitting.
Oh, did I forget to mention he’s a reaper? And has a rather odd problem that he needs to discuss with Lucifer, yes that Lucifer, soon?
And nope, that’s not all that’s going on… Now, it’s Nikki Landis, so if you’ve read her before you know I left out the good parts, if you haven’t, well why not? Get reading!
17 years ago Jasper was left for dead having been buried alive, he resurfaced and became Wraith of the RBMC, Tonopah chapter and his Reaper was born. Imagine the conflict when the girl he was going to marry and thought had died that fateful day turns up at the Crossroads, as a social worker delivering a child to Naomi who is the childs new guardian, not only that but with her is their son, and they are now both in danger.
Absolutely fantastic, I couldn't put it down and devoured it in one sitting, this MC chapter just gets better and better.
Ohhhhh, Wraith's story was beautifully written, I didn't know the instinct of his past and pain. Having finally reconnect with his love and surprised gift was a bit emotional, these Royals don't show their emotional sides but when they've been blessed you get everything. This was a very enjoyable read and a definite re-read when the times hits me, well done author Nikki Landis....
Wraith's story is an absolutely amazing read. It'll unravel so much dropping a few twists and a couple of surprises. Jasper and Twani have lived a life of separation. Both thought the other was dead. An amazing read with steam galore, great characters new and old, and a surprising storyline including PNR and normal if you can call anything with the reapers normal.
RBMC Tonopah Chapter is back and we get down right emotional in this one. So we all remember Wraith from the previous books. In the last book something was starting to happen to him. He is starting to disappear or become invisible. We find out his story in this book and lord is it heartbreaking. I mean I am not sure how I would have managed to do what he did. So lets meet Tawni and her son. She has been a single mom for a long time and has not moved on from the death of her sons father. She has done one heck of a good job raising her son. In her line of work though she helps people in need. In this case she helps someone who puts on the path to the RBMC Tonopah clubhouse. Things get weird when she shows up and someone recognizes her. Oh boy do things get crazy from here. Old memories resurface for Wraith and it seems a little hard to accept that some things were wrong. Wraith is no longer the guy he was when he was with Tawni. He has changed in so many ways. The one thing that never changed was the love he has for her. Finding out the there was something else he gained from seeing her again completes him. However, the past seems to creep back up and is working with the Russians. One of their enemies. His reaper is ready to be set free and to make up for time lost. Can he do it with out losing himself? Find out to see how it all goes down.
Gosh these bikers sure have had their share of pain, for this series the devil doesn't seem quite so evil, he has actually helped save these men. Twisted fate brings Tawnie back to her home town, she brings her son with her as she wants to take him to visit his father's grave. Wraith recognises the woman with a baby, he thought she was dead and he doesn't know how to deal with the pain of her not knowing who he is. With her at risk though he needs to protect her. Twisted and there is pain and joy combined with fear and violence, those Scorpions need ending, so do the Russians and their threats. The guys all pull together to help get the vengence and justice both Tawnie and Wraith deserve. I love how she reacted to his Reaper as well, true acceptance. Fantastic read.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
Sometimes vengeance isn't enough. There are times when a man is forced to choose the wrong side of the law. When everything is striped away and ruthless, cold revenge is all that remains. This is a dark book that you will want to heed the warning for. It might contain some triggers for some people. It is also advised that you read Hell's Fury which is the book before this one in the Royal Bastards MC: Tonopah, NV series. I was also surprised that there is a paranormal twist in this book that I wasn't expecting and for someone that usually does not dive into anything containing anything paranormal it was a surprise but not a bad one at all.
This is the story of Wrath and Tawni. This is a couple who each had a thing for each other in the past but they also thought that the other was dead. So when they see each other again you can just imagine how shocking and explosive that reunion was. They are two people determined to not be torn apart and I knew if anyone every tried to do that it was not going to be good for them at all. This is also one of those books that are really hard to review for fear of giving something away. I can say that this book is full of twists and turns you never see coming, there are a lot of things that are also covered in this book. I think its like being on a constant loop that you never want to get out of but also there are some major bumps in that loop a few times. You know you have a great character when you fall in love with the guy who is called to make problems disappear and has no problem doing it whatsoever. On Halloween seventeen years ago he and Tawni were attacked brutally and they left Wraith beat and broken and in a grave to die. To say it is his mission in life to hunt these two men down and make them pay, is a understatement. What he never expected in his life was for one day Tawni to show up on the doorstep of his clubhouse. I mean after all he had not a clue in this world what had happened to her. She has grown into a beautiful woman who is raising her sixteen year old son all on her own as a social worker. A son that just so happens to belong to Wraith and he never knew it. I loved their relationship so much. They are so close and cracked me up so many times. But mom and her son will really melt your heart. The reunion of Tawni and Jasper just about had my heart in my throat and tears in my eyes. I can't even imagine what these two have been though. They have mourned each other for years and years and her son is the spitting image of the only man she has ever loved. I have to shut up about the story because like I said there is a lot that happens in this book and I will ruin something. My best advise if to get Hell's Fury and Grave Mistake and dive in and enjoy these great addition to the RBMC collection. This is my first time also reading Nikki Landis and I am so going to go back and read the first five books in this series and some of her other books too. I loved her writing style. She tells a story and it plays like a mini movie in your head and I so love when that happens. I hope you enjoy these two as much as I did.
One of my favorite authors in the RBMC. Only one thing still missing.... The Devil's ride. I miss it. Come on please Ms Landis... put it back in. That's not why I gave this a four star instead of five though. It was never explained how exactly if they lived in the same area that they each thought the other was dead. If it did I must have dozed off.
Wraith hates Halloween. He was young but he lost the love of his life that night and was buried alive. He still thinks about her all the time and he will never love like he did her.
Tawni loves anything spooky and scary. She got pregnant Halloween when she gave her virginity to the love of her life before they were attacked and he died. Nobody can ever replace him. She just loves her son and that's enough.
Can love still be there after seventeen years? What even happened? What will happen when the people responsible for lost time show back up.
More surprises, dangers, enemies, and questions (only some are answered).
There are babies on the way as well as more ol ladies in the clubhouse. Grim and the brothers are hyper-aware and prepared for more battles with enemy clubs. Strangers are not easily accepted, so when a strange woman and a baby show up asking for ....... they all come to attention, especially Wraith. You'll need to read to find out why to prevent spoilers.
Just know this one has even more devious surprises for all especially the reader. An amazing read with steam galore, great characters new and old, and a surprising storyline including PNR and normal if you can call anything with the reapers normal.
Just know you are gonna love it and chew your nails waiting for the next one. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
Wow!! Wraith did NOT disappoint. I've been waiting for this book since Patriot's book. Nikki did an awesome job. To think you would never see a person again because you watched them throw him in a grave and bury him and he is now standing in front of you. Mind blown! The Tonopah chapter of the RBMC is special since they take the Devil's Ride once voted in. Wraith has been waiting 17 years to get back at the guys who left him for dead and made him miss out on his son growing up. Now Sid is caught in Wraith's crosshairs that he has nowhere to go. For Wraith and Tawni, they never stopped loving each other or wanting each other so this isn't a book about falling in love. This is about a book that the characters were already in love and were torn apart. It just took them 17 years and a lot of heartache to find each other.
It's been seventeen years. Years of pain and regret. Love and sorrow. Until Tawni walked in. Wraith knew her immediately but couldn't believe his eyes. When Tawni realized who it was she was brought to her knees. The first time they went down this path ended painfully. Now they've been given a second chance. What are the odds of having a happily ever after? I can't even give more than that in this review without giving anything away and you'll want to read every delicious word of Wraith and Tawni's story. Nikki Landis has given a heads up that reading 'Hell's Fury' is strongly recommended before reading 'Grave Mistake'. Take her words to heart because the pieces will align so much better and, if you're like me, you'll be able to pick up on all the little tidbits you might otherwise miss. I've waited a long time for the full story about these two and in no way was I disappointed.
I did not want to put this book down. Wraith was so intense, a lot to deal with. Tawni was strong, very maternal, and very accepting of her situation. Wraith and Tawni had a history and had believed that all had been lost. Fate and danger brought them together, and love bounded them heart and soul. Danger came closer and almost stopped them. With surprises for everyone, the RBMC won the day. There were definitely gritty and violent scenes, but it just made the story stronger. I liked the paranormal side of this MC, and I look forward to the next in the series and getting caught up on the ones I missed.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
This Tonopah chapter just keeps getting better and better. Wraith is definitely one of my favorites. I loved the whole storyline and the second chance that he and Tawni got to have, it all just felt right and perfect as they reconnected after being apart for so long. I also love when the old ladies embrace their old man’s reaper side as it surprises their men each time that they aren’t scare of it and find it appealing.
Wow, I did jot think this series could get Hotter, but it has. I love this series and Wraith does not dissappoint. After being buried alive and loosing his girl he had nothing to loose so he acreage to the terms from death. Uears later circumstances reunites him with the girl he thought was lost. What a roller coaster of a read that will have you glued from start to finish. Can ot wait for the next installment! I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review
