When I inherited my grandmother's house, I didn't realize I was also inheriting her obnoxiously attractive billionaire neighbor. I just wanted to renovate the place to honor my grandmother’s memory, but when all the contractors mysteriously cancel on me, I have to come crawling to my jerk neighbor for help. Riggs Abernathy is the CEO of Abernathy Construction, and he’s more than happy to take a look at my plumbing and lay some pipe. Yes, he used those exact words, and he even gave me an insufferable wink. Riggs is hard-headed and hands-on. His big arms and broad shoulders are perfectly built to swing a sledgehammer, and before I know it, my house is sparkling new. He won’t let me pay him though, instead, he asks me for a big favor. It’s a long story, but he’s signed a contract to marry a former client’s daughter. Unless I marry him first. A favor is a favor, and I do owe him big for the house, so I’ll be his fake wife long enough to bail him out. As long as he keeps his filthy paws to himself. Riggs It doesn’t matter how fake the marriage is, I’ve still got to kiss the bride. That one kiss is all it takes for me to know there’s nothing fake about this, and now it’s only going to take one touch for her to beg me to put these “filthy paws” all over her.
Melinda Minx lives in Seattle with her loyal Corgi. She writes late into the night with a hot cup of Earl Grey. She likes to write romantic comedies, the cuter the better!
Nora is trying to fix up her grandmother’s run-down house that she inherited. Riggs Abernathy is the CEO of Abernathy Construction and her grumpy neighbor. He makes a bargain with her that he will fix the old house in return for a non-sexual favor.
Riggs’ lawyer has been reminding him for a long time now about a contract he signed years ago with an Egyptian client. He had promised to marry the man’s daughter. Now he has until the next month to marry the daughter or she is contractually entitled to half of Abernathy Construction. With Egyptian custom, that really means that his former client will actually get the company – unless, of course, Riggs was already married.
Riggs needs that favor already that Nora agreed to. He asks her to marry him, just on paper, to save his company. Although she agrees to pretend, the Egyptian prince doesn’t believe this is real and arrives for the wedding! Riggs’ lawyer, Mike, even hired a fake family for Nora since he figured she wouldn’t want her real family to know about this fake deal. Nora had been promised she wouldn’t have to even touch Riggs, it was all to be on paper. Will she back out now? Will Riggs’ scheme keep his company safe? And will Riggs and Nora find themselves actually falling in love by the time the craziness is over?
This was a cute story line with great characters, although Riggs has to grow on you a bit before he becomes more likable. One of my favorite parts was when they realized they would have to kiss, so they practice but cannot make it “fake”. They both thoroughly know it’s definitely REAL. When he asks her what her last name is right after the kiss… I thought she would punch him, especially when he then kept calling her “Vozenilek” since he knew he would forget it otherwise. The epilogue nicely wraps up their story, so grab your copy and see how the plan works out.
This was a laugh out loud romantic comedy with a dash of adventure.
Nora Vozenilek inherited her grandmother's run down house in Montauk. She does not have much money to pay for repairs so she plans to do as much as possible herself. She decides to start by demolishing the outhouse even though she does not have running water in the house.
Riggs Abernathy is the CEO of Abernathy Construction, a billionaire, hates most people and is a perfectionist. He sees his new neighbor trying to take down the outhouse and has to go over to tell her how to do it correctly. He acts like a real grumphole and manages to set her temper off so she kicks him off her property. He fixed her outhouse including making a hard carved seat and buys out all the plumbing laborers in the area. She storms over to his mansion and he offers to help her repair the house and teach her how to do it. Plans change when he hears from his lawyer that the Eqyptian princess he has been dodging marrying is on her way to NY with her father. He made the promise to her father but always assumed his lawyer would get him out of it. He decides to ask Nora to be his fake on paper only wife to fix his situation. She agrees and the Prince invites them to honeymoon in his palace in Cyprus. Riggs and Nora have explosive chemistry and end up having a real honeymoon until the Prince finds out their marriage was fake and the two race to the airport to flee the country on Riggs' jet. Nora invites the princess Sara to escape with them and they take her to NY. They get into financial trouble with the Prince over that but Riggs cares more for his marriage. They end up having a real wedding with her real family and friends and get their HEA.

Grumpy Fake Husband was a quick, fun read. I was surprised to find how quickly I read this book and was sad when I realized I was done with the book. While there are a lot of book with the storyline with the fake husband premise, this one was a bit different. His business contract with a Prince and an arranged marriage to a princess as payment for said business contract aren't typically found in this type of storyline. But what I think drew me in most was the connection between Riggs & Nora, neither wanted to fall for the other, not even wanting to admit it. Definitely recommend reading to follow Riggs journey to his HEA especially after he figured out and could admit that Nora was the one person he wanted in his life, after all he made her a contouring toilet seat for her comfort. You really need to read it, some things were too hilarious and need to be read first hand. Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I also purchased the book/read with Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.
Riggs, what can I say is a character that will grow on you. The connection and the bantering between Nora & Riggs is priceless. I really enjoyed this book and the characters.

Nora is trying to fix up her grandmother’s run-down house that she inherited when her grumpy neighbor, Riggs, comes over to tell her she is doing things wrong. Riggs actually owns a billion dollar construction company but he is not a people person and enjoys annoying Nora. They reach an agreement where he will fix her grandmother’s old house but she will have to help him and then she will owe him a non-sexual favor. After they begin the work his lawyer reminds him that he signed a contract years ago with an Egyptian prince where Riggs agreed to marry his daughter or give the Egyptian half of his company if he was not married. He calls in his favor from Nora and asks her to marry him on paper so he can keep his company. The prince shows up with his daughter for Rigg’s wedding and invites Rigg and Nora to his property in Cyprus for their honeymoon. Will Riggs and Nora be able to convince the prince that they married for love and might heir fake relationship become real?
I enjoyed this fun story where the grumpy neighbor helps Nora with her house and she ends up helping him try to save his company. Some of the circumstances were a little far fetched but it was fun to see their relationship develop. The epilogue was a fantastic ending for their story.

Comments-I interpreted the synopsis of this story to be one where there would be more fun. Melting a grumpy hot neighbour during construction but the fake marriage part happened too quickly and the story's fun disappeared leaving me disappointed. Made it almost to the end.
This is a story about one grumpy neighbor, Riggs who owns his own billion dollar construction company and Nora a woman who was left her grandmother’s home that she is starting to renovate the entire house. Nora meets Riggs when he tells her she is doing some work wrong and Nora can not believe how big, sexy and bossy Riggs is. These two agree to disagree and boy does Riggs enjoy to push Nora into reacting to what he says. Nora agrees to let Riggs do the work along with a condition or two…no sexual favors. After they start work on her house Riggs is told he will need to marry the Princess and he knows exactly how Nora can pay him back. Nora agrees to fake marry Riggs and as they were right on her home and get to know one another the Prince shows up with his daughter and family for his marriage to Nora. They are now forced to marry at a moment’s notice and Riggs’s lawyer mysteriously arranges a real wedding with guest. Then the Prince offers for them to spend their honeymoon with them in Cyprus. Things get more complicated with the story they are telling along with the feelings and relationship between them becomes something good until the Prince discovers their deception. I enjoyed how Riggs grows and Nora is there to push him to be a better person. The epilogue is good but I wanted more… I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In this book we meet Nora Vozenilek and Riggs Abernathy. Nora has come to fix up her grandmother's house that was left to her. There are two problems she seems to be having. One is she has very little money or true knowledge on how to do this. The second is the neighbor Riggs. When she realizes who he really is it only makes things worse. So now she realizes she really does need his help and when he offers to help her with a couple of conditions she jumps in. Riggs wants Nora but he wants her irritated if not mad at him before he has her. When he learns a deal he made years ago is about to come to pass he finds himself calling in that condition he made with Nora. See he either has to marry a Egyptian princess or already be getting married. The alternative is to lose 1/2 his business. So he calls on Nora and tells her what he needs. What happens though when real feelings get involved will it be a HEA or the end of the road as they know it?
Another hit out of the park by this author. These characters pull you in from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I really enjoyed reading, Grumpy Fake Husband: A Fake Marriage Romance by Melinda Minx because it was a romantic comedy about a grumpy neighbor, Riggs and the woman, Nora who lived next door. Riggs was a great character even though he was grumpy and cranky most of the time towards Nora his next door neighbor. Nora was a spit fire of a character who told Riggs what she thought of him all the time. I loved their chemistry and dynamic. Each chapter was told in either the female or male character and I liked that. Riggs needed to marry someone quickly due to a business deal and he chose Nora. It went down hill from there. It was funny and steamy and I really hoped that they would stay together even though there relationship started out fake. Love fake relationships and marriages because it always seems to end in real feelings. I would highly recommend reading this book. I absolutely love the cover as well. Riggs in my mind is so good looking!!!

Billionaire Grumpy Man has two to choose from! This is about Nora and Riggs. Riggs is the billionaire that happens to notice Nora trying to tear down an outhouse because her plumbing is going to get fix the next day. Nora is new at rebuilding and her only guidance is YouTube videos, so of course, she does not know what she is doing, but after her grandmother left her this house, she intended to make it all work out! Riggs has made his billionaires on construction, so of course, he sees her and knows she is doing it all wrong. Note, Nora did not invite him over but he came anyway and after falling, all he can do is scowl at her for not doing it right!
The story is hilarious from the beginning because she does not back down from him even though all she can think of is kissing him. The story does get interesting as he does something for her that ends up with her owing him a favor. Well there is a Princess involved and the story takes a turn but in the end is really lovely!

This is Riggs and Nora’s story. Nora inherits her grandma’s run-down house and is determined to fix the house up in honor of her memory, but strangely the contractors mysteriously cancel on her. Riggs is Nora’s grumpy neighbor, and he is also the CEO of a successful construction company, and she has no choice but to ask for his help, so they end up striking a deal which will be mutually beneficial to them both. Riggs also needs a fake wife to get him out of a contract he signed years previously with a client. This is a well written story which is enjoyable and with witty banter, humor, and is a sweet and entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.
Nora and Riggs live next to each other and she needs work done on her grandmothers house, which is his specialty. In exchange, he asks her to be his fake wife to get out of an international contract that could wipe out his company. When certain people show up to the wedding (the princess and her father), Nora and Riggs have to make the kissing and actions real and soon it become that full time. The characters are heartwarming and the storyline is terrific as they get over each hurdle, and there are quite a few. The romance skyrockets. Loved the fact that Sara ends up with them at the B & B and is a sweetheart.

I'll be honest and say I didnt like Riggs all that much at the start, but as the story unfolded and I saw his character develop and change, I liked him more and more. Riggs and Nora were both strong characters who knew who they were and what they wanted, I enjoyed seeing their relationship unfold. Their story was a little wacky at times to me, it was full of chemistry, connection, desires, truths, deals, favours, lies, honesty and realising what's really important to you.

But definitely a very close 2nd. I have never had the misfortune to choose a ‘romance’ that was so angry, so hate-filled, and so downright disturbing as this one turned out to be. I stopped halfway through, having completely reached my saturation level of hate and anger. Perhaps before attempting another, the writer should actually READ a romance or 10, and get the general way they work. For me, this is not just a huge NO. It’s a ‘In the nicest way I can say it, perhaps the writer needs to talk to ….somebody. There seems to be a few unresolved issues in her.’
I think this is the first book that I have read by this author and it will not be the last. I started laughing at the start and never stopped. The characters were great and did not like to play well with others. If you love to laugh well reading and love characters that do not behave this is the book for you.

So I did like this book .. They fell in love , it was sweet and hot , but the fact that Nora got mad that he didn't want to be responsible for Sara was bull .. He was being blamed for kidnapping her and Nora was mad that he didn't want her staying with him ... Nora also didn't seem to care that Sara's father took half of Rigg's company . Bora was so wrong and he shouldn't have had to say sorry to her

I liked Riggs and Nora's story, fake to real is one of my favorite tropes and this one is very well written, with wonderfully crafted characters and a very good storyline, the bonus chapter provides by the author was a very nice touch. I laughed and cried with this couple as they fell in love. I felt like I was really there in Montauk and Cyprus throughout the entire book. Riggs is exactly the type of guy a girl looks for and Nora is a typical girl next door. I would love to see more set in this world.

Nora inherited her grandmother house that needs extensive renovation when she meets her neighbor Riggs who is a wealthy construction company owner and offers to help her with the renovation with the understanding that she will owe him a favor. When he calls in the favor she never expected he would want her to be his fake bride but the more time they spend with each other the more the fall.
A wonderful well written fake romance. This engaging storyline is entertaining and captivated me from beginning to end. It's smooth flowing and includes love, drama, lots of laughs. Lack of communication and passion. The characters are interesting, well developed and have great chemistry. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
It started out to be funny and enjoyable, but turned into ridiculous. The contents of the contract is not told in full or even close to it. What did the fake Prince do for Riggs? OK, I realize this is fiction, but come on, really. The so-called prince and princess only wanted his money, all while they had plenty of their own.
Riggs and Nora well what can I say about these two, Grumpy Riggs try’s to get under Nora’s skin but Riggs doesn’t realise that he falling head over heel for Nora, with a fake marriage and a very hot under collar honeymoon and a angry Egyptian prince what more can you ask for in a book 😁 4 ⭐️
High stakes game of you scratch my back, and I will scratch yours. Trading an entire home renovation for a marriage seems lopsided, but honestly, it worked. An explosive couple, especially in private.
