To the victor belongs the spoils.

My life changed in an instant when my best friends were killed in a car crash. Having planned a vacation to the Virgin Islands together, I decided to go ahead on the trip, but I sank into a depression fueled by survivor’s guilt. That is … until a beautiful barbarian boarded the yacht to steal my freedom. He feels more like a hero coming in hot, than a pirate coming in cold.

When Alejandro Barbados (undercover DEA Agent Gabriel Managus) leads a pirate raid, he finds a beautiful woman (Marie Daniels) crying on deck and recognizes her as the sister of a SEAL. In a split second, he makes the decision to go rogue and rescue her, risking not only the mission but their lives.

5 Star Review Coming In Hot: Mission: Marie (Born To Fight Task Force #3) by Jessika Klide

Jessika Klide is a relatively new author to me but what I have read I have found to be well written and as I enjoy romantic suspense stories I could not wait to dive in to the third book in the series, Coming In Hot: Mission: Marie

Undercover DEA Agent Gabriel Managus is on an assignment, posing as Alejandro Barbados a man who leads a pirate raid when he comes across beautiful and sad Marie Daniels. Marie is struggling after the death of her best friends and is suffering from survivors guilt which is slowly crushing her.

There is so much more to Gabriel than he can afford to let on and it was interesting to note that Marie could see beneath the surface immediately. Things are made more difficult when he recognizes her as the sister of a SEAL. The decision he makes will put them both in danger.

Will he be able to keep Marie safe and also help her heal her broken heart? This was a fast paced story that drew me in and kept me riveted from the first to the last chapter. There is suspense, danger, intrigue and heat and there were times that I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading.

Gabriel is deep undercover trying to break a trafficking ring when he discovers one of the victims on board a yacht is actually a fellow team members sister…. Who is off limits.
Gabriel doesn’t waste a minute saving her but as a result of claiming her he upsets the balance while he plays his part in being undercover & trouble is brewing.
Marie is drowning in survivor guilt after losing her friends in an accident and decides the best way to
Honour her friends is to Still go on their planned vacation alone, but the vacation turns out to be something that will change her life in a split second the minute she boards the yacht (in more ways than one).
Marie has no idea who Gabriel is or that he was a team mate of her brothers but is drawn to him and responds immediately to his alpha “Dom” personality. The more time she spends by his side the more she wants him.
The gifts Gabriel gives Marie were original and cleverly done all the way to him artfully dropping down to retrieve what was dropped.

Another awesome book in the series with strong characters that were totally engaging and had strong chemistry.
I love this series and how the whole series is interconnected!

This is my first read by Jessika and though it is the third book in the series it is able to be read as a stand-alone. Jessika does give an extensive list of the former navy seals and their specialties. Marie had planned a one month vacation in the Virgin Islands with her 3 friends to celebrate finishing their studies. Unfortunately, her 3 friends lose their lives in a car accident but despite this Marie decides to still go in honor of their memory. Gabriel is on a secret undercover mission to expose human traffickers. When the boat they stumble upon is the one Marie is on and Gabriel recognizes her as Cash's his ex-training officer's little sister. There was mystery and intrigue as Gabriel tries to keep Marie safe.
I received an arc for NNBB to do an honest review. If you're looking for a short read before bed containing a hot seal with some hotness, mystery, and intrigue you will like this read

Coming in Hot: Mission Marie.
This is the third book in the series, and doesn't disappoint in the continuing fight against Human Trafficking.
Marie having lost her best friends in a accident, and decides to go ahead with the holiday they had all planned.
Gabriel is an undercover DEA, who is working on bringing down a gang of human traffickers, and infiltrate the gang enough to work is way up the ranks, so he can catch the kingpin.
On boarding a boat to kidnap all the girls on board Alejandro (Gabriel) see's Marie and instantly realised, she's Cash's baby sister, so has to claim her for himself, to stop her from being sold.
Instantly both are attracted to each other, and the chemistry is hot as hades.
Can Gabriel along with Cockblockers, save Marie and the other girls, before they are sold.
A fast paced read, well written by the author. Great reading.

All you have to do is look at this book cover and you’ll go up in flames!!
Then you get the story which is action packed, insta love hot.
Marie is kidnapped by a pirate barbarian in a Speedo.

I open my eyes to see the beautiful barbarian’s face hovering inches over mine. A few wet tresses dangle free. His strong jaw is covered in a thick, rough scruff.
Gabriel Magnus is a undercover agent trying to bring down a human trafficking ring. He’s gonna save her but in the meantime things between them heat up big time.

He looks more like a pirate businessman than a barbarian now. I smirk and nod at his transformation, and he gives me that killer wink again.
The queen of short sexy military stories has done it again.

This story is hot and packed with action. It’s a quick read that will have you turning pages and wanting more of Marie and Gabriel’s story. This author really packs everything into a story that sucks you in. Looking forward to the next in series because I am sure it will be just as hot and good as this one.

I didn’t know what to expect as I am new to this author, but the book didn’t disappoint as the action started right away! The hero is an undercover agent trying to stop human trafficking, the only issue? He can’t help but save the girl he’s set his eyes on. So not only is he risking his mission, but turns out she’s the sister of one of his team members! This steam was off the charts and the storyline was fast paced and kept moving. I’m excited to see who else gets a future book.

What happens when you are the last survivor of your best friends the one girls you can depend on to keep you on your toes and honest? For Marie this is her and now she has decided in order to honor them she is going to go on their vacation and try to live a little. What she doesn't realize is she's about to take a whole nother turn and be kidnapped. Her life is about to change and it's going to take an act of God and one man who she can't deny. Gabriel is there to do his job and when it takes a personal turn well he will change the rules. The problem with that is can he save the day and the girl who he can't help but want? This story had everything you would want in a book.

Coming In Hot is the third book in this series and I love the continuation of this dedicated team fighting human trafficking. Sparks fly immediately between Gabriel and Marie! He claims her as his “spoils of war” to keep her safe and at his side. Great read in this troupe!

3 1/2 stars

This is the first book by this author that I have read and while it might be the third book in the series it isn’t an issue as the beginning has a very comprehensive list of who’s who in the series and their descriptions.

This story I feel has even more potential than it is right now. The plot is good, there are some terrific characters, emotive language that gets the feelings going, a good amount of passion, and amazing settings—which are beautifully described. I just felt it was a tad rushed, the suspense element could have been a lot more exciting than it was, and with the build-up it had, it deserved it too. Being such a very short story it could do with more content.

Both lead characters, Marie and Gabriel, are likable and their instant attraction is fine, I mean she’s a gorgeous young woman and he is a hunky, ripped man. I’m not really into the ‘daddy’ play but to each their own and it was made into a ‘thing’ between them, which was cute to a degree. I was a bit surprised and a tad disappointed that at the end there was no mention of Marie’s original aspirations. These were mostly all still achievable and I had hoped she would continue to do so, maybe she is going to but it didn’t say.

I gave the extra half a star because it does have some very good elements as I said and is enjoyable but could be so much more.

I'm really enjoying this series from a relatively new-to-me author. I've added all the back-catalogue books I can find to my ever-growing TBR list!

Marie and her friend had planned to celebrate graduation with a long overdue relaxing break but tragedy struck and now Marie has come away on the holiday on her own to pay tribute to her late friends. The yacht she was on is boarded by pirates and she's taken off as part of the female "cargo" they are hoping to sell on. Why then does she feel weirdly safe around one of the pirates?

Gabriel is on a deep undercover mission, slowly moving up the ranks of a smuggling ring. His hopes of reaching the top of the food chain are coming to fruition when he stumbles upon Marie. Hoping that she may vaguely remember him from their short meeting moths before, he does his best to keep her out of danger whilst trying to complete his mission.

OOOOH the tension was as hot as the passion. I really enjoyed Gabriel and Marie's chemistry and the BDSM elements were interwoven well - they weren't just shoved in to make for interesting and varied love scenes, they were actually necessary to keep Marie out of scummy hands.

Shorter read, sharp dialogue, believable action and some really interesting characters!

This is the 3rd book in this great series and is Gabriel and Marie’s story. Marie is struggling with survivors’ guilt after her best friends were killed in a car accident, and suffering from depression, she decided to go solo on a trip that had already been organised to the Virgin Islands. Gabriel is an undercover DEA agent, and as Alejandro he leads a pirate raid, and when he comes across Marie, he recognises her as a seal’s sister, and he needs to rescue her. This is a well written story which has me on tenterhooks, and this is a fast paced, action packed story, with danger, suspense, intrigue, healing, and love, which leads to an addictive page turner, which had me hooked throughout. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is a very intense, quick read that offers a lot that kept me on my toes. Gabriel and Marie have an instant pull to each other even though they are in a horrible situation. He's undercover and she's dealing with the loss of her best friends. He's very alpha, very dominate and they click with in that way. Even though the story is short, there's growth from each character. There's definite dark themes, and edge of your seat suspense along with that D/s relationship. I'm curious about the other characters in this book and will be looking into the other books from this series.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Marie believes that the best way to handle the devastation she is still feeling after the death of her three friends is by taking the vacation that they were all looking forward. She knew it would be a challenge emotionally, but she wasn’t expecting that not only would she be abducted but she was attracted to her captor as well.

It must have been destiny that Gabriel was working undercover and was part of the team that abducted her. He realized her connection to a fellow teammate and now his mission has become a lot more complicated when they develop feelings for each other.

Hot chemistry, intrigue and great characters combine for an entertaining story.

I like how the author kept going back and forth between Marie and Gabriel. Marie is on a cruise that was arranged by her friends. Depression sets in and while standing at the railing, she is abducted. Gabriel is a former Navy SEAL and working under cover. He is the only thing standing between her and The Crew. She plays her part in the hopes of rescuing all the other girls. Big brother has called in favors and the cavalry is on the way. In just those few days, Gabriel has laid his soul bare to Marie. He knows he has met his soul mate. Marie was dreading leaving. She would have no reason to stay in his life. Things have a way of working out.

Good read

This was a good story that probably could have been told a little better. It was a very quick read that made things happen so fast that it was hard to get a feel for the story. It began with a lot of info on the characters that would have meant a little more if most of the characters were actually more involved in the story.

Love it!

I love the action, connection and intensity of the scary situations and the heat (that is ALWAYS in Jessika Klide books)
I love how she takes things that are happening in our reality and gives us something to hope for, such as a good outcome. Military Romance? Yes, Sir, Daddy, Sir 😉

Exciting, action filled story about fated mates ( it’s not a paranormal story), Marie and Gabriel fell into insta-love and insta-love. Full of action, this Seals story is entertaining, well written, and sexy. I loved that Marie was smart and could hold up her end. When it came to Gabriel, she was a toasted marshmallow (lol)!

Marie's life changes in one Night when her best friends are killed and she decides to go ahead with the vacation they had planned. She's on her cruise when the ship she's on gets ambushed and Gabriel immediately recognizes her as Cash's sister. These two have a instant connection and they have some interesting adventures. I was a little disappointed that Marie didn't finish all her big plans she had. But these two are super cute together.

Don’t waste your time

I was so disappointed in this book. The female lead immediately falls for her”captor” even those he is violent with her. It was so unrealistic. The dialogue was poor and elementary at best.

It is a sad time for, Marie did just graduate from college. Instead of celebrating with her best friends, she is mourning the death of her roommates. It was a horrific car accident, that took their lives. They should be on the yacht with her, to the Virgin Islands, instead of 20 other women she doesn't know who is on the trip with her. In the blackness, she goes for a swim alone. When a tall broad man, boards, and rushes her. He realizes he knows her as his BUD/S instructor. But, he is an undercover DEA agent trying to take down a trafficking ring. This woman might remember him. The pirates he is working, to take down are, boarding the boat, any minute. He tries to make her jump in, and swim toward shore, but, she talks too long and stops, to kiss him. That's when he gets caught by one of his trusted men. That kiss begins the web of trust that starts to grip them both. In the meantime, her stepbrother Cash has called in a favor from Crockett for help. This is fast-paced, a fast read, and an instalove for sure. I enjoyed the ride of this couple's adventure. They took cues off one another and I liked that Marie was spunky and not a pushover.
