Felicity Radcliffe is the author of the Grand Union series. She divides her time between a small English village, where she lives with her husband and dog, and a narrowboat on England's beautiful canal network, which forms the backdrop to her novels.

Here's what Felicity has to say about the Grand Union series:

"It comprises three novels: Union Clues, Broken Lock and Grand Stand. Whilst boating features prominently, I did not want to write traditional canal-based novels, where the protagonists travel from A to B and have a bunch of adventures along the way. I have tried to do something genuinely different and, judging by the reviews, many readers really appreciate that.

At the heart of the series lies a very unusual crime, which sets off a train of events that gains momentum with each book. I can't say anything more without giving away the plot, but I'm confident you won't have encountered a crime like this in any other novel. However, the books themselves are not crime novels per se. They are about friendship, guilt, revenge, courage, deceit, despair, love, loyalty and - above all - self-discovery.

Over to you - I hope you enjoy the Grand Union series and I look forward to receiving your feedback."

I thoroughly enjoyed getting back to the slower pace of life on the canal network around the UK, and catching up with a few old friends from Union Clues, plus some new faces, in the second part of this trilogy, Broken Lock.

I loved Nathan, freshly released from prison he is the character you end up hoping, oh so hoping, everything will come out alright for in the end… but will it? Then there’s Jennifer, Stella, the wonderful Nancy, and Dawn, who turns up in the wrong place at the wrong time for some of this cast.

But, the best bit for me, the absolutely best bit, was the twist. I honestly did not see it coming and loved every moment from the other side. I will be very interested to see how this all pans out in the final part of this super series.

Really good follow up to the first book in the series. Very clever to tie up all the ends from the previous book and some great story lines for the next book. I am so looking forward to the third book.
I am really gunning for someone to get that "snake", now in Dubai!!!!! Well done Ms Radcliffe.

Very enjoyable. Felicity continues from the 1st book (Union Clues) but reintroduced the characters well so you don't have to go back. In fact all the characters are further developed. Interesting story and I'm looking forward to the third and final part of the trilogy.

Great Sequel

Really enjoyed the sequel, the twists and turns continue and you get to meet some new characters and explore some familiar faces in more depth. Can’t wait for part 3!
