Once, the name Macalister Hale was uttered in the boardroom with respect. Now, it’s whispered in disgrace at cocktail parties hosted by Boston’s elite.

Scandal nearly destroyed me, but the one thing larger than my infamy is my bank account, and I’ve learned money can solve anything.

Well—almost anything.

Sophia Alby’s preferred currency is secrets and the way she trades information puts Wall Street to shame.

This girl charges into my life and claims a partnership can restore my reputation. My downfall was swift, but with her, my climb to redemption will be greater.

Our arrangement is professional. Appropriate. It has to be, because she’s half my age. But it doesn’t stop me from wanting . . .

To move on. To control and indulge in her. To hear the name Macalister Hale echo in her breathy moans.

But I can’t. Giving in to temptation led to my undoing before, and I won’t survive it a second time.

The Redemption is the fourth book in the Filthy Rich Americans Series. This series must be read from the beginning to truly grasp the full scope of the Hale Dynasty. After serving time, Macalister Hale is ready to reenter society and get his life back together. He is working hard to move past his feelings for his daughter-in-law and ultimately, he wants to reconnect with his sons. When a beautiful spunky younger woman enters his life, his entire world is turned upside down. Sophia Albys may be young but she is a force to be reckoned with. When she makes a bargain with Macalister, she has no idea how Master Hale plays the game!

"The man who owned me was becoming the hero I'd hoped he could be."
Told in dual POV, The Redemption is a fast-paced passionate read full of heart-stopping twists and turns the entire read. Ms. Sloane has concocted a perfect blend of tenderness, romance, redemption, and scorchingly hot passion! I was captivated by Hale and Sophia from the first word on the first page to the very last. I simply could not read fast enough. I have always had a fondness for Macalister and witnessing his transformation (all while keeping his focused and determined spirit) was simply breathtaking. Sophia is a perfect counterpart for "the KING" and I could not be more thrilled that he finally has his Queen!
"Oh, God. He was going to make me come again, and in this position, where his cock seemed to go on forever, I wondered if it would kill me."
Overall, I cannot shout my praise enough for this book (or this series). This was my first Nikki Sloane Series and I can say with complete certainty that there is a special place on my Kindle reserved for all things Sloane. She is an expert storyteller, and I will never get enough of the Hale men and their women. I am looking forward to more!!!! The Redemption is an absolute must-read for contemporary romance fans who enjoy a smoking hot silver fox paired with a spunky millennial. The Redemption is definitely on my Best of 2020 Shelf! I cannot wait for more!

Well this was everything I wanted for Macalister's book! I loved getting inside his head and I loved that the villain/anti-hero of the series got his own HEA. Even though I kind of wanted Marist to choose him before, Sophia truly was the perfect heroine for him. Their romance is dirty and hot with a huuuuge age gap (I'm talking ~30 years lol) and some good office romance. The way Macalister respected and treasured Sophia? PERFECTION. (The diamond piercing he gave her? I just loved him 😌👌🏼🔥)

I highly recommend reading the series in order even though this one is the best! You get to see Macalister's character development throughout each book and the payoff in The Redemption is that much better if you've read the series. This villain grows a heart (well, just for Sophia and his family) but he's also still the dominant, possessive, powerful man he's been since book 1.

Everyone loves a bad boy who’s secretly a good man.

Macalister Hale was HORRIBLE in the first three books of the Filthy Rich Americans series. That being said, myself and many others still loved him. Sometimes very bad men (in fiction) have something about them you just can’t help but feel drawn to. Mac had that “something”, and it pours out of him in The Redemption. What I loved about this story is Macalister becomes who he was always meant to be. Not only because he meets his perfect match with his heroine, Sophia, but also because of the things he experienced in the first three books. His failures, his losses, and now all of the things he is gaining back in this novel. Let’s just say that Ms. Sloane does a great job taking him from mean old baddie, to sweet sexy Daddy... I mean man. 😉

This read is definitely older man and younger woman, with a submissive lite vibe. It doesn’t have that salacious feel that the first three books had. He isn’t just chasing after some young woman, who doesn’t belong to him, that he wants to conquer. He’s chasing after a woman who WANTS to be chased. While Sophia submits, she is also on the same playing field as Mac. Not only do they want each other, but they come to find they need each other as well. You can tell they are equals in so many ways even though it’s reluctant at times, from some sides of the equation.

All in all this is a great read. For some reason I did expect this one to be a bit darker, but it wasn’t really. It was definitely a redemption story. A man who had lost everything climbing back out of the hole he dug himself with the help of the savvy woman he falls for.

**Also. I can’t end this without saying that I’d love to stay in Cape Hill forever and read about all these corrupt as hell families. Vance, that sweet cinnamon roll, needs his story too.**

Macalister Hale is the ultimate anti hero. As soon as I finished the first book in this series Royce was dead to me and it was all about Macalister. Marist absolutely picked the wrong Hale but ultimately I wasn't that much of a fan of hers either and didn't think she deserved Macalister.

Now, can you imagine reading 3 books where you don't even like the main love interests but are rooting for the bad guy?? Cause that was me for these books. He completely eclipsed Royce and I was purely reading for scenes with Macalister and that ending...well when this book was announced I was giddy.

This book was absolute heaven. Fair warning there is an age gap that normally I'd be a bit uncomfortable with (26-55) but given that the h isn't a virginal teenager it worked really well for me.

The sexual tension was off the charts and the actual sex was...well just have your BOB charging ok?

I'm so glad Macalister got someone who was worthy of his love, Sophia was perfect and truly did make him a better man in the end.

holy alpha hotness

Nikki Sloane knows how to write good smut. The foreplay and seduction in this book really got to me, it was antagonizing and slow and fucking delicious. The dominance shown by Macalister was downright wicked and i'm fucking here for it.

'Seduction was a game a man should enjoy playing, and there was no victory in bedding a woman who couldn’t surrender willingly'

Macalister accepts assistance from our heroine, Sophia, in order to try and redeem himself in the 'rich prick' of billionaires, after the "incident" with his past wife. Sophia poses as his assistant at work and their relationship moves forward from their.

the Dominant/submissive relationship here was highly erotic and satisfying; especially since they don't sleep together until over 40% of this book.

“Say it.”
Possession was nine tenths of the law, and I felt utterly possessed. “I’m yours.”
“Only I’m allowed to touch you.”

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. There were some extremely cliche and borderline cringey moments, but the soft moments where our H breaks down his walls made this book worthwhile.

“You have this power where you make it feel safe. We become the only two people in the world with no one else to tell. When I’m with you, everything outside of that ceases to exist.”

to be honest, after the events of the deception, i really did not see a way that nikki sloane could convince me of a love story between macallister and someone new, but oh boy this did something for me. somehow this book was even more addictive than the previous books, but just as delicious. i can't wait to read more by her. an easy 5/5 stars

Macalister fucking Hale .... I hate that I love you but goddammit I love you deeply!

THIS.BOOK. It’s dark and it’s edgy and so damn sexy and just everything you’d expect from a Nikki Sloane story. IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.

Sidenote: I don’t think you necessarily have to start at the beginning of this series to enjoy this story for everything that it is, but it would definitely help you understand Macalister Hale a whole heck of a lot better.

A Steamy Redemption

When “The Deception” ended I was torn up leaving the world of Macalister Hale. There was nothing I wanted more than one more taste of the power that he wielded in Cape Hill. One more book where he was the dominant, hot executive that many fans of the Filthy Rich American series had rooted for, even though we knew it was just wrong. What can I say, some of us like the “Bad Boys”…

Along comes Nikki Sloane reaching into the depths of her very steamy, creative mind and handing us all a bit of “Redemption”. From the first page I was hooked into the Hale world again wanting to know after his time away had Macalister rid himself of the Marist obsession? Could he come back to his beloved company and gain back the prestige? What would it take for him to become the hot leading man a large group of us fangirls had made him out to be in the first three books?

Like always, there are a few twists that I wasn’t expecting such as why was Sophia Alby showing up to work for Macalister Hale? Her father already did and she was just a little gossip in the other books. There would be no reason I’d want to be on her side in this story. WRONG!! Nikki made me fall right in line with Sophia and wanting her to win as much as I wanted Macalister to become the hero that she (and we!) deserved.

This book brings all the things we loved about the trilogy into a book focused on Macalister, including the heart attack moments & the surprise twists that make these books exciting. Bring the towels though, it’s a steamy read!!

My favorite book in the series, hands down.

I loved seeing Macalister go from down in the dumps to back on top. I loved the heroine and how she challenged him. The little bit of Daddy kink was the cherry on top.

I loved the little taboo aspect and the story as a whole was a great addition to the story while still being its on thing.

5/5 steamy stars.

⭐️ 4.5 "I Wore This For You" Stars ⭐️
When I met Macalister Hale in the first three books of the Filthy Rich Americans Series, he was a man ready to win at all cost always using wicked tricks. It cost him almost everything: his company, his family and the respect of his community. The Redemption was the perfect setting for his resurgence in this wealthy world of pretense, secrets and manipulation.

Sophia Alby, that we met briefly in the previous novels, as an agenda. She needs the help of Macalister to realize her secret goal, but she’s not the only one mastering the art of duplicity. Despite her few decades younger than the man, they share an intense physical attraction that soon turns emotional. The more time they spend together, the more they discover the true person under their own persona. The banter between them is playful and always charged with lust and power. Macalister is still the same vicious and dominant man, but he also shows signs of regrets for his mistakes. I enjoyed being in his head and reading his thoughts about his first wife he loved so much, or how he deplores his actions toward his sons. As much as this man is bad in some ways, he’s also very good and dreamy in others. I easily fell under his charm.

Sophia was a very interesting heroine. She knows about Macalister’s past and wrong doings, but it doesn’t diminish her fascination with the man. Confronted to his very domineering ways, she just pushes back and it creates sparks. She’s fearless and sassy. I admired her personality that was the perfect complement to Macalister’s. The slow burn of their romance was flawlessly paced and made the anticipation for them to succumb to their desire so strong. They certainly share some pretty ardent sensual moments that burned up my kindle.

Nikki Sloane penned another compelling story that I devoured. This couple had the most amazing connection and the revelations were unexpected and thrilling. The Redemption was exactly the kind of story I was expecting! Every amateur of age gap, steamy romances with trace of mystery should get a copy now!

I think it was wise for me to take a long break between the trilogy and this one to read because I sure as hell enjoyed it more than I did the first time I gave it a shot.

You just can't think ahead of the moment in this series. Every moment feels like a plot twist.

It really was redemption for Macalister Hale(H) and damn, that old man is cute. At first, I was skeptical about Sophia Alby(h) but I really liked her character and how she didn't give up total control to Macalister and fought back.

The only thing that I didn't like this time around was fucking 'Daddy-kink' and that difficult writing. Sometimes I was lost as to what was happening in the scene, had to go over it twice and thrice.

The smut was exquisite. Damn, Macalister can fuck. *fanning myself*

P.S.- In my mind, Sydney Sweeney was Sophia and Eric Dane was Macalister. Now, that fan-cast is either too good or too deranged, there's no in-between but they're both hot, I can't deny that.

Gahdamn how I love me some Macalister Hale.

This was everything and MORE! Seriously, Macalister is EVERYTHING. He’s an asshole. He’s lethal in business. And most importantly, he gets what he wants.

I loved seeing this side of Macalister. He’s so much more than what he appears to be on the outside. Make no mistake, he’s dominating and always in control, but this Macalister finally realizes not all things will come easy unless he’s willing to make sacrifices.

I loved Sophia. She was the perfect match for Macalister in every way. She gave him as good as he gave. She was likable, down-to-Earth, and genuine. She was his antithesis AND his counterpart.

The chemistry is so hot it obliterated my kindle. I’m so damn eager for the next book, Vance’s!

I was NOT expecting to like this book as much as I did. Macalister did some pretty messed up stuff in the first three books of this trilogy, and I wasn’t sure if I could actually be convinced of his redemption. But somehow, Sloan made me root for Macalister and Sophia even when I was reluctant to. This was a beautiful story of coming face to face with your own mistakes and learning to make amends and move on.

Electric! LOVED this book. Very Hot. I almost gave up on this too soon. I wasn't sure about the set-up and sometimes i can be impatient if a book doesn't totally grab me in the first chapter. But holy SHIT I am glad I gave this book a chance. This may be my favorite story in this series and Macallister is definitely my favorite of the Hale men. LOVED it so much!! Lots of D/s and it worked very well with this couple. They were perfect for each other. It's a big age difference but it doesn't come across as squicky. This one will definitely be re-listen!

On my 4th read. Just so much comfort. I love Macalister and it’s better than the first 3 lol. There’s just something about this one that is the best age gap book I’ve ever read lol. Macalister is a G and I truly love Sofia. They make a great team. Sexy as fk.

“I’d told Marist a long time ago that Royce and his brother Vance were hot, but Macalister was the best of the Hale bunch, and it was still true today.” Agreed.

This is now my 4th reread. I love this character and he always sticks out as one of my favorite book boyfriends and redeemed characters.

“…he was so much older, and arrogant to the point he was rude, not to mention . . . maybe a murderer? Alice Hale’s death was an accident, but I was currently shaking hands with the man who’d caused it.My body didn’t give a fuck.” Word girl word!

And My god did Macalister redeem himself on every possible level imaginable.

Two of my favorite quotes in this book used numerous times—-“I didn’t give you permission to touch me.”

And

“I wore this ….for you”

Cutest sht ever.

He truly grew and of course he is dirtier than ever. I always wanted to see s*x scenes with him while reading the first 3 books so this one was really a blessing lol

“The remainder of my run was spent considering how much money it would take to track down the commenter, inform them they were wrong, and extract their apology. Whatever the figure, I could easily afford it. I had to let that knowledge satisfy me instead of acting on it.”

Chess and s*x. Hating yet loving his cat and s*x. Sending private jewelry and loving that he is the only one to see it and s*x. This guy is just s*x and I wish he was “my boss is better than yours”

Macalister's point of view and seeing something good happen with him was really all I wanted. I honestly loved his creepy and sexy older silver fox self his games and his mazes (both mental and physical lol)l. I always thought his perspective was the best and felt bad at the end of the 3rd book. I felt so unsettled about him. I really needed him to have his own story and love. He deserved it honestly as messed up as he was lol

“Ladies and gentlemen, in light of what has happened, Damon has decided he will not be speaking this evening. He’ll be using this time to reflect on his actions and discuss them privately with his family. He thanks you for your understanding.”

I had no idea this book was even a thing until stumbling upon the rest of the saga- I read the entire book in 1 day. Magical. Lots of bookmarks.

I love this billionaire alpha sht. It’s just so good lol

“If the rain had touched Macalister, I couldn’t tell. It was more likely the raindrops were too frightened to dare fall on him”

The dialogue was splendid. You could really get into the characters heads and you felt all the feelings.

Lots of Sage advice throughout and you really see the character shift and change so much.

“They’re not pressuring you because they’re concerned about your happiness. They do it because seeing you in grief makes them uncomfortable, and they’d prefer you stop doing it. Ignore them. Don’t think about moving on—only think about moving forward.”

He not only has funny and sexy interior monologue (some of it made me melt and also giggle) but the sex scenes are ridiculous. Like screen shot good. Refer back to good. Go back and reread constantly good. The scene in his living room. I mean all the scenes when he gets naked are quality.

just ridiculous.

again- I am so happy this was written- I was really really missing this guy and not that I have this book- I shall be coming back to it for motivation lol.

This man! If there is a villain character who deserves his own story, and redemption, it is no doubt Macalister Hale.

I hopelessly fell in love with his ruthless persona in The Initiation series, so it is my dream come true that he is the sole antihero in this absolutely riveting novel.

He commands attention even in his lowest hours. And now, after paying the price for his many mistakes, he comes home to shadows and diminished ambitions. Even Lucifer, the family mansion's black cat, is a damaged reflection of his present status.

I loved being inside his head. It is still terrifyingly hard in there, but also a place of rumination and self-judgement. He wants to let go of his sins, start fresh and better, yet he also fears that love is beyond his soul.

It really is a pleasure to read about this character. It's like savouring an aged Scotch after a tide of cheap beers. Though I would have wanted even more chapters from his point of view.

Now, the plot.

He meets a young woman who surprises and challenges him. It is a duel of the mind which slowly translates into hot, carnal temptation. They strike a Devil's bargain, and the consequences are a trap of wild emotions, strategic machinations, unveiled secrets, and a chemistry that rivals Caesar and Cleopatra's.

I loved every scene because each one is laced with seduction and sophisticated tension. The characters may seem opposites yet they light a fire with their words and their bodies.

Macalister wants to extract her innermost secrets but Sophia puts up a relentless wall. An admirable woman in her resilience, dedication, and drive. Beautifully vulnerable in her desire to please the formidable and feared Hale king. I was mesmerized by every intimate encounter, they are all so intense and vivid.

It truly feels like a miracle to witness this man's thawing towards a world of feelings. He never loses his imperial ways, his domineering touch or his strategic mind, yet he opens up to her fresh influence and it is a thing of beauty.

I was besotted with some scenes where they exchange texts, or at a lush gala where two amazing things happen, one of furious sensuality and one of inefable romanticism.

And oh the last part! It is spectacular. The sudden, heart-squeezing drama of it, it brought me to tears. How could they not be together after everything? It was excruciating to find out that secret, and then feel torn from their ardent relationship, but then the final plot twist was pure art. A masterful plan. And I have never read a more heartfelt act of contrition from a villain-turned-hero in my life! He still wins and gets away with everything 😂

This tale is one of a kind, and worthy of as much praise as drooling over.

Favourite quotes :

I wanted to be the woman he'd fall in love with and break the curse.

I'd lived for so long with a broken heart, the sensation should hold a familiar comfort.

So I told myself that I was not going to read this book after how dirty Nikki Sloane did Macalister in the original trilogy. But I’m a hypocrite, so what’s new.

I wasn’t looking forward to having Sophia Alby as a heroine. She gave me these really bad Regina George vibes during the previous books, but I’m happy to report that she’s likeable in this one. Her whole unrequited crush story really made me connect with her even though I’ve never been unrequited HA HA WHO AM I KIDDING?! And her side story was intriguing enough to keep me guessing.

Anyway, Macalister is still his sexy self and he has the best smut scenes. Seriously. I enjoyed the power dynamics between the couple and the whole dominant-submissive games which were a surprise, but not completely unexpected coming from Macalister.

Currently side eyeing Vance’s book because even though I’m not interested in his character, Nikki Sloane doesn’t seem to be able to miss the mark.

After the first three books, I was excited to get to read Macalister’s story. Unfortunately, as much as I REALLY wanted to read and love the villain’s redemption story, I sadly wasn’t convinced.

Honestly, it’s because I can’t understand how Royce and Marist would still let him within a 20 mile radius of them. He did some seriously irreversible, traumatic, heinous shit to both of them, especially Marist.
