When an overflying drone caught world-famous star of the silver screen George Calhoun cheating on his wife, the silver fox desperately tried to get his hands on the footage. Unfortunately the drone belonged to my human’s dad, who now found himself at the center of the perfect storm. Meanwhile, I was at the center of a different storm when I discovered I didn’t fit through the pet flap anymore. My suggestion to buy a bigger pet flap didn’t sit well with Odelia, and instead she took me to the vet, who put me on a diet and outfitted me with a state-of-the-art smart collar, capable of monitoring my vital signs and a whole lot more. And just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, they did!
Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).
When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.
He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.
I am binge reading in order the 90 books about Max the clever kitty, his cat friends, helping his humans, Odelia, her cop husband, and family solve mystery after murder, book after book... This one didn't have a murder but oh, the tangled web of lies, motives, love conquering all... These books can be read as stand-alone as I originally did a few in the middle of the collection, but I reread them in order this time and got soooo much more enjoyment. The Hamptons sure give a rich background for these stories, and the cat's eye view makes it a fun "ride"!
I enjoyed this immensely as always! One of my most favorite cat mysteries! This book had a great story line and wonderful characters. Max is a great cat, but as always my favorite is Dooley. He's so naive and sweet! Can't wait for the next Max mystery!
This series is so cute. The characters are great fun. You go into the books and become addicted to each new mystery. Personally my favorites are Dooly and Max, two of the cats. Dooly lives in a perpetual state of innocence and Max is so sweet in accepting Dooly as is.
This was really very enjoyable and funny with Max and the gang unwillingly becoming part of an online game and Tex filming an extra marital fling from his drone. Mayhem ensues but all ends well.
This book is good but not a murder mystery. But definitely lots of fun. I am a little sad that I only have 1 book left. All the cats are like my family now and I will miss their antics.
Odelia's dad gets a new toy...a drone! It ends up causing lots of problems. An unintended movie leads to robbery attempts by many people. Plus cat collars cause even more problems! Will things ever go back to normal? Max sure hopes so!
There was plenty of worry involved when George went missing. It was just that the majority of all that they thought he was dead. I own this book. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.
Live the in site on the animals .. I'm always wondering too what goes thru their minds when I'm talking to them & the crazy looks they give me .. Both my cat & dog who adore ea other .. So I relate to the comodariey between animals & ur characters
This time the story is about Tex getting a drone and accidentally filming a couple in a compromising position. All heck breaks loose. Everyone wants the film. George disappears to where? And guess who needs to lose weight again? Another fun read!
Visiting Max and family is such a joy. I haven't read any for a while because I find them hard to put down. Plus I save them for when I really need a pick-me-up. Somehow January seems like a good month to hear about Max's latest diet!
I love Max and the gang. This book was different, no one died. A marriage is saved and Tex learns a lesson in flying a drone. Keep up these stories of Max!
I liked this one better then last. The back premise with cats collars I liked a lot. I did find myself chuckling at antics cat and human for that matter. It was enjoyable
A couple caught by a drone, a cat caught in the pet flap, who or what will also be caught – a little bit of love??? I enjoyed the story and recommend the book.
