“The greatest journey you can take is the one within yourself.” -- don Miguel Ruiz Jr.
Outside Mexico City lies the ancient pyramid complex of Teotihuacan, which, according to the oral tradition of the Ruiz family, is the spiritual center for the Toltec people. For over twenty years, don Miguel Ruiz Jr. has been traveling to Teotihuacan to teach others about the powerful mysteries found there.
In The Mastery of Life, Ruiz explains how the sacred pyramids and plazas of Teotihuacan act as symbolic stops on the transformative path of Toltec Warriors—those who apply the teachings of the Toltecs in their own lives to win the inner war against the forces of domestication, fear, and self-judgment. At the same time, he guides you on your own inner journey, helping you to experience firsthand the transformative power of the Toltec teachings without ever leaving the comfort of your own home. Each chapter contains practical exercises and reflections designed to help you find peace and personal freedom in your own life, right now.
I used to read several books by Don Miguel Ruiz, who is a father of Miguel Ruiz jr and he continues in his father'sToltec traditions which I like. This book also gives new perspective and look to Toltec teaching. I got to know new, interesting things in the book concerning approach to life and will definitely return to it for rereading and future references.
This Book offers toltec guids to master your life through the four elements of this world. Starts with water,Air,Fire and Earth .I really enjoyed it and find it quite helpful. So I Definitely recommend it.
It was a great book to read out loud with a group and share with a partner I love his books they always help me have a better outlook on life on experiences and transforming the self
Great book if you are in to spiritual enlightenment and liberation of the thinking mind, this is the book for you, I also highly recommend the four agreements also from Don Miguel Ruiz. Good luck and God Bless.
I believe that for many people, including myself, the first part of life is about discovering the world outside of us, while the second part of life is about discovering the world within us. And I also believe that one of the purposes of every person on this earth is to know oneself. If you are already on the inner quest, then any book by the author will be helpful to you. Miguel Ruiz Jr. expresses Toltec wisdom through analogies and stories that help us see more clearly the world within us. In this book, we find some of the clarity we need to see what hides behind the "smoke of the party" as it is called in the book.We also find some useful practices to spend more time with ourselves and to understand ourselves better.
This is interesting and thought provoking book, with lots of practical exercises throughout. However, I didn't engage with it as much as with the other Tolec guides that I have read. I think it is because each chapter is dedicated to different parts of the Teotihyacan pyramids and, while this is a clever way to organise a book, I would have preferred the chapters to be led by the advice or wisdom being discussed.
another wonderful book by ruiz Jr. motivating, inspirational. great exercises at rhe end of each section. I love how the book followed a path through teotihuacan. at this point, I'm just going to read every book by every person in the ruiz family.
Overall, a good book with a positive message. It ties together the elements with the original four agreements and affs a bit of mindfulness. I enjoyed it.
This is great for fans of the Four Agreements. It can be used a a companion piece that goes deeper. I’m a big fan of the Ruiz family’s work. Highly recommended
The overarching Teotihuacan metaphor distinguishes this from an array of different self-help books. Nothing groundbreaking, but still good to read these on a semi-regular basis to keep yourself grounded.
