Kendra Archer has big dreams in life. Ever since she spent her summers volunteering with neglected animals as a teenager, she’s wanted to run her own horse rescue center. And with her new job working in the Alaskan mountains at a small town vet clinic, all she needs is to work hard and build up her professional reputation as a horse whisperer, and she’ll be one step closer to making her dream a reality.
Jesse Barnes was born a cowboy and will end his days as one too. Working with his brothers on their family ranch in the shadow of Eagle Mountain, they protect the land, while owning and running one of the top producing ranches on this side of the country.
Passions collide when Jesse rescues a mistreated horse who needs specialty care. Knowing he can’t do it alone, he calls in the only person who may be able to save the animal—the town’s new horse-whispering vet.
Just seeing the sickly horse ignites Kendra’s compassionate side. She’ll go above and beyond to save him, the bonus being the time she gets to spend with the horse’s rescuer. Something about Jesse has her feeling things she’s never felt. But his habit of pulling back the moment they get close has her beyond confused. And then there’s the strange dreams she’s been having. It’s almost as if the Mountain is communicating with her…
For Jesse, meeting Kendra ignites something beneath his skin that feels a lot like fate and a lot like something he can’t ignore. The idea of finally meeting his soulmate seems almost unreal, but as time goes by, it’s a feeling he can’t deny.
These two dedicated souls will need to navigate their feelings for each other and understand the meaning of the mountain spirit’s Call, all while staying true to themselves and their dreams for the future. *** Hold on to your hats! Cowboy Seeks a Horse Whisperer is book 1 in the new Eagle Mountain Ranch series. They're the same kind of sweet, flirty, feel-good, and heart-felt stories you've come to love from Marley, but this time you'll get the big, gruff and tough mountain ranchers living off the land and protecting their own near the town of Kinleyville. The mountains have always provided for the keepers of the lands, and now the Eagle Mountain prophecy has been fulfilled, it's time for their soulmates to warm up their hearts and their bunks, and make their lives on the ranch complete. Can we all say, awww.
This book could definitely benefit from some heavy proofreading. There were quite a few instances where multiple lines were considered, but no final one was decided i.e. "well look what the bear the eagle dragged in."
Other than that, this book just kind of meandered and repeated itself quite a bit. It could've ended at least five times before it actually did. It was a cute enough story, but did not hold my interest.
Honestly a teenager should be capable enough to do better than this. The author's writing read like a children's television presenter reading a story out to kids, in that childish, over-animated, voice., paint by numbers, step by step, monotone and just really childish reading the author's 'writing voice'.
And the writing level is an uneducated mess, with every sentence beingvumpteen lines long, without a single comma. Most are so long they're missing three, even four commas. They have too many "and, and and's", because again, the 'author', and I use that word loosely, shows a lack of even the most basic knowledge of punctuation or vocabulary. The grammar is bad, with wrong words used, and there are singular words when the plural should have been used, and vice versa.
As for the story, again it's like a teenager wrote it, so cringing, clichéd and juvenile. Not only that, it just doesn't appeal, because the hero only likes the heroine because she's his mate. He says "she was nothing special to look at", and "she's not his usual type". How nice of him to talk about her like that. Not! I just couldn't keep reading it, it was so cringingly immature.
Shocked this has been published. I know anyone can self publish, unfortunately this really proves that anyone can publish. Even those without the most basic level of education in writing, and with no ability in storytelling can publish it seems. It also proves Amazon has zero quality control regarding self publishing authors.
I am so glad the mountain Spirit is still actively calling good people together to find their destiny as we begin the first book in the Eagle Mountain series.
Jesse Barnes does not spend time on relationships. He is a hard-working rancher, and turns out to be the first brother to receive the mountain’s Call. He and Beau rescued a mistreated, starving horse from a neighbor. The horse is in such bad shape that it needs special handling and veterinarian Kendra Archer is called in. This is the beginning of the mountain’s magic as the two of them feel that deep, instant connection. Jesse struggles with his overwhelming feelings and how to proceed. But Kendra has an offer of a job elsewhere. Can he get their relationship started? Will she stay here now and accept the man who is meant for her?
A amazing story about the men of the mountain waiting to hear the call of the Mountain, letting them know that there one is here. It's now Jesse's turn. He meets kendra and they both feel something when they touch and can't seem to stay away from each other. Kendra is amazing with horses and helps Jesse's horse buster be use to being around people and not scared of them.
Will Jesse and kendra answer the call and decide to be together?

I love the way Marley Michael’s writes Mountain Men. I gobble all her Mountain Men stories up and they never disappoint! Cowboy Seems a Horse Whisper was a great book! Low drama, you get a bigger picture of the Call on Eagle Mountain, and of course a HEA.

When The Call of The Mountain comes to Jesse he cannot resist the pull and magnetic force of Kendra, only she is not aware that Eagle Mountain is the latest mountain to have the spirits want to give back to those who love and care for the land. If you love a swoony cowboy romance with great characters, fun dialogue, then this is your book. Also for lovers of Elsie Silver, Laura Pavlov and Melanie Harlow. I was literally swept away with this book about a spiritual love that comes to the various mountains now on Eagle Mountain. It literally took my breath away and I am so happy to have stumbled across Indie Author Marley Michaels. I tend to get hooked on a book by an author then binge read them and I can safely say that MM will now be added to one of my Go2 Romance authors. Her writing is confident, it is about real people in real situations, her FMC is strong and determined and her MMC well he just melts your heart. A winner on both scores for me and a beautiful story to boot. Kerry Kennedy Author
Just like all of the previous stories about the Spirit of the Mountain, this story sets the basis for the rest of the brothers on Eagle Mountain. Jesse and Beau rescue a couple of neglected horses, but after one doesn’t make it, they call in the horse whisperer. Kendra is the newest veterinarian in Kinleyville, she answered a call to visit Jesse’s ranch to help with a rescued horse. Her dream is to have her own horse rescue ranch. Never would she have dreamed what would be her destiny when she answered that call. What follows in this book will have you hanging on till the very end to learn all the Mountains secrets it has in store for this couple. You won’t regret reading this story.

The vet Kendra and rancher Jesse met while she was tending for an abused horse. They both felt the pull or rather the Call but both were hesitant. Jesse knew about the Call but it kind of freaked him out. The former player is no spellbound and wants Kendra but tries to take it slow. Another great start of a new series. Eagle Mountain now starts to search for the ranchers Soulmates. Can't wait for the next story.👍👍
Some dialogue was just too cringy… Completely unlike any 40+ men I know, especially the rugged ones.
I didn’t like Kendra’s reaction when Jesse told her about the call. She just “can’t” believe it. But she dreamt of the spring before she’d ever been there... The evidence is there, honey. It just didn’t seem super authentic. Kind of manufactured to be more than it was for the sake of the story. But maybe I’m just too accepting of supernatural/fantasy things due to my usual reads. 🤷♀️
It just got… boring. And I think maybe it’s too pure? Too romance-y? Too perfect? Too sweet for sure. I finally gave up and started skimming in an effort to actually finish it. There were just too many declarations of undying love for my action packed morally gray male lead loving heart to stomach.
Oh my Balrog. I get being a LOTRs fan, but to have a character that's named Gandalf and dresses like the white wizard is a bit much for me. It verges on corny. Sorry. 🙁
This is book one in yet another connected series from this wonderful author. In this one, we meet a host of characters, some of whom we’ve met before. This love story is about Kendra and Jesse. Kendra is the new vet at the Kinleyville District Veterinary Clinic. She may be Alaskan born and bred, but Eagle Mountain seemed to call to her in a way she’d never felt before. One of her dreams is to also open up a horse rescue and treatment farm. She’s had flyers placed around town to advertise her ‘horse whisperer’ skills to those in need, and Jesse was definitely in need!
Jesse calls her with a horse emergency and she’s both nervous and excited, to be able to start proving herself in this new community. Jesse and his brothers own Eagle Mountain Ranch, so have a lot of pull. The feedback she gets from them will count for a lot. There’s an instant attraction between them when they meet, but she won’t allow that to detract from her professionalism and work – well, she’ll try anyway.
Their interactions are sweet and flirty to start off, but fairly rapidly grow into more. With their friends and family encouraging them, they show their passionate and loving sides without holding back. But when Kendra finds out about the Call (not from Jesse), she’s understandably confused and upset. A long-awaited work opportunity in Canada comes up and it seems to be the perfect time for Kendra to take some time away from the intensity of her feelings, and to further follow her dreams. Will this sacrifice be worth the possibility of losing everything else too?
It was a really emotional and believable story that had some disappointments, concern and feelings of betrayal and uncertainty, along with plenty of family love, hard work, determination, vivid dreams, and wonderfully entertaining animals. The setting sounded glorious, as always – especially Paradise Springs! Each time those springs and clearings are written about, I truly feel like I’m there (wishful thinking).
I seriously cannot get enough of these books. It was great to get to know all of these characters better, and gain even more of an insight into the way the mountains choose the Ones for everyone. I really love the way the characters from the different series come together. I’m excited about how Kendra is going to take on her new role at Eagle Mountain. And while I’m sure Randy and Sawyer will get their turn, I can’t wait to read about Beau and Molly’s journey next! I give this book five seer stars.

Marley Michaels’s New Series is FIRE! Marley Michaels’s new Eagle Mountain Brothers series is the latest spinoff of the Moose Mountain/Bear Mountain Brothers series of romances that have a healthy dose of hot heroes, amazing women, and the mystique and magic of the natural world. This stuff is so far out of my wheelhouse normally that I am so very pleasantly surprised by the fact that I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF THEM! You need to understand: Usually, I could love anything and everything about a romance novel, find out it has some kind of fantastical element to it, and simply put it down. However, Michaels’s work has me waiting on pins and needles for each new release, and Book 1 of the new series was no different. In “Cowboy Seeks a Horse Whisperer,” we start the journey of the Barnes Brothers, whom we’ve seen many times in the Bear Mountain series. Jesse Barnes is the love-em-and-leave-em brother - a wealthy, hardworking rancher who is insanely sexy, charming and sweet. He is absolutely blown away when he comes face-to-face with beautiful veterinarian Kendra Archer. Kendra is smart, driven, and passionate about two things - her work, and the steamy, instantaneous connection she feels with Jesse. Once again, Michaels treats her fans to a well-crafted story, full of ups and downs, heart-tugging aww moments, lightning hot chemistry, and amazing characters. The author seems to take great care in maintaining the consistency and reverence for the Mountain Lore around which each of these series is based, and it’s very easy to get swept away by it. I really love that all of the characters are interconnected: we meet them long before they get their own HEAs, and they are threaded throughout the other stories. This honestly makes it so easy for a reader like me - someone who gets such a kick out of family and multigenerational series - to become invested. We also get epilogues that happen years in the future to punctuate that the work and rewards of life and love continue long after “The End.” This new one is my favorite...for now...since my fave seems to change with every new Marley Michaels release. I’ll shut up now. Just pretend there are TEN stars here instead of five!!!
Mountain Speaks Again - Cowboy Seeks a Horse Whisperer is book 1 in the new Eagle Mountain Ranch series. I am beside myself with feel good endorphins I’m not kidding you! You would think after so long the same story line would grow old but Oh My Goodness not “The Call” of the Mountain, I don’t know is it that happiness we all seek, but this author just has the ability to pull you right into the pages and the lives of the characters which by the way the chemistry is dangerously Hot! Hot! Hot! Trust me you can’t put these stories down until you are at that very last word and saying “Oh my Goodness when is the next release date”? This is Jesse and Kendra’s story the very first call of the Eagle Mountain after the calling of Ellie-Mae and Miller, Ellie-Mae as the Mother (if you will imagine) and she wants Jesse Barnes who has always and always will work the ranch along with his brothers as they protect the land while owning and running one of the more successful producing family ranches on Eagle Mountain to answer her call of sending Dr. Kendra Archer one of the local Vets in the area. Jesse and Kendra meet when Jesse rescues a mistreated horse who needs special care that Jesse and his brothers are not equipped to give the kind of care it needs so he calls in the new Vet who just happens to be a horse-whisperer. That’s all it takes, hand shake upon meeting; Electric Bolts exchange! Thump Thump Thump goes the hearts! They are on their path to discover the mountain has decided they are Soulmates and she wants them together! Not only is Kendra a Horse-Whisperer, but along the way they discover another extremely very important bit of information about her that the Mountain has bestowed upon her. This is an absolutely wonderful story as with all of the series connected to and with the Mountain. They are definitely ones you need to allow yourself time to not have many interruptions. I recommend they are such easy and comfortable feel good stories. These are absolutely a wonderful addition to my reading library that I definitely will read and reread again again. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.
When Miller and Ellie-Mae married, then had their daughter, Whitney that opened the prophecy on Eagle Mountain with the Barnes Brothers, to start receiving the call. The first brother to receive the call was Jesse the second oldest. His came one day when he called the new veterinarian/horse whisper for a horse that he and Beau had rescued from a neighbor that was mostly starved to death his mate did not survive. From the moment Jesse met Kendra, he turned into a tongue tied teenager. She was not much better. It took him days to realize what was going on, then he disappeared trying to figure out the situation. Kendra was new to the area, so she had never heard of the call. Beau talked Jesse into asking Kendra on a date and Beau would go along as the wingman. That was the opening that both Jesse and Kendra needed to get their relationship started. Jesse was still afraid to tell her anything about the call, so Randy took him on a delivery to the Homestead to see Gandalf where Gandalf was able to help him, and also be told him that Kendra was going to be the seer for Eagle Mountain. As soon as he got back, he went to see Kendra, she had already heard a little bit about the call, but she did not understand the call, and she did not know what to believe. She was a scientist after all. She had just gotten and an opportunity to go to Canada to work as head veterinarian for six months on a horse rescue ranch, her dream job. She decided, she would take the position. She would then come back to Jesse, she needed time to think and clear her head. This was the start to the Eagle Mountain series with a full length novel, and what a start it was too. It was emotional as well as funny. The sex scenes would burn the sheets right off the bed. Way above the other two series, even though it was building off of them.

What can I say? It is hard not to love a very hot and sexy cowboy who is Called to his One….his perfect soulmate. The mountain spirit has now activated the Call on Eagle Mountain where Jesse and his brothers reside on their ranch. Though she doesn’t know a thing about the Call, Kendra has come to the Eagle Mountain area because it satisfies something in her at a soul deep level. From the moment they met, Jesse and Kendra have felt a tremendous pull or attraction to each other. A touch sets off sparks, their hearts race and they begin to sense each other’s presence before they actually see each other. They are the soul mates that Jessie had heard his sister and her husband Miller talk about. Jesse doesn’t know what to believe. He knows he is attracted to the beautiful new veterinarian who has come to the ranch to care for a mistreated and suffering horse he rescued from his last owner. At first he is not ready to believe the lore about the mountain spirit, then he realizes the Call could give him everything he has wanted….a life mate and a family of his own. He fails to let Kendra know anything about the Calling, fearing her rejection, but that decision returns to bite him in the butt. It makes Kendra wonder if she can trust him. Little do they know, Kendra will have a closer connection to the mountain spirit than either could have ever expected.
This book is a wonderful addition to the mountain men series of books that highlight delightful and sexy romances with just a touch of mystical magic. In order to get more information on the mountain spirit lore and the Call, read the previous books about Bear Mountain and Moose Mountain. They are all highly entertaining and engaging. This is a romance, it does have a Cowboy who lives on a ranch/commune at the base of a mountain, his lady is a Veterinarian and she has dreamed of running a horse rescue rehabilitation.... Thats were the believability kinda ends.... there is no Native Indians in the story which could have tied the supernatural in and then to make it more unbelievable there is a Gandalf Mountain Seer from another mountain family/commune and a romance writer who's stories come true about these commune mountain family groups and how THE CALL is the mountain spirit rewarding men who use green methods or respect the MOUNTAIN... FOR me this was not a good story it had me ready to put it down before I read a quarter of the story... it was just too fairytale with very little conflict or angst and The Call is just unbelievable. I kinda wanted a Cowboy story with horses but it was more fairytale than Cowboy and the Horse parts are very unrealistic... it is also disappointing that the author chose to state things that maybe true of a few racehorse owners but not true about the majority... I was very disappointed in this book... I do think perhaps a younger audience who don't like angst in a story might like this as it's mostly happy unicorns, unfortunately the whole story is clearly FANTASY FICTION and there are no facts even in the jobs and actions of the characters. Sorry not one for me I nearly gave it 2** but the writing and editing itself is pretty good, the story is what turned me off well before half way.
This is the first book in the new series Eagle Mountain Brothers. If you’ve read the Bear Mountain Brothers series, then you’ve met the brothers of Eagle Mountain Ranch. If you're looking for Ellie Mae's story its book 9 of the Bear Mountain Brothers series. No worries if you haven’t read the Bear Mountain series, it’s not required to enjoy this one. Honestly, I highly recommend any of Marley Michaels series. Every story is steamy, well written and very entertaining. The call is definitely going to shake things up for Ellie Mae's brothers. Jesse’s up first. He meets Kendra when he calls her to the ranch to take care of an abused horse they brought home. Kendra is new to Eagle Mountain and is there because she wants to start a horse rescue operation. Poor Jesse is tongue tied and always says the wrong things around Kendra and is nervous about the call which he's starting to believe really is going to happen to him and his brothers. Kendra has no clue about the call and thinks Jesse's just not that in to her. I really loved watching these two stumble in to love and find their way through to answer the call. I love the Barnes brothers and can't wait to get my hands on the rest of their stories. The author draws you in to the story. You'll laugh, you'll cry, another excellent book for Marley Michaels.

Jesse had been told that he would be the first one on Eagle mountain to hear the Call but he wasn't sure if he actually believed in it until he met Kendra. Kendra is a vet and a horse whisperer that Jesse had called in to help treat an abused horse. He was instantly attracted and when they touched his heart started to pound and he felt tingles. He asked his brother-in-law Miller about the Call and what it felt like since he felt it. Jesse definitely is having all the signs of the Call but he is still having problems believing in it. After more time spent with Kendra, he is finally ready to admit that he is feeling the Call but he is at a total loss on how to tell Kendra.
Kendra has been drawn to Eagle Mountain for a long time. Now she is lucky enough to start her vet practice there. She is working and saving for her dream of starting a horse santuary. She is thrilled to prove her horse whispering skills to Jesse and his family because it will help her business grow. She also really enjoys teaching abused horses how to trust other people again. Kendra really enjoys spending time on Jesse's ranch but she is confused about the strong feelings she has for Jesse. If that isn't bad enough she is having weird dreams.

Marley Michaels debuts her new Eagle Mountain Brothers series with the absolute awesome Cowboy Seeks a Horse Whisperer. A spin off of the Bear Mountain Brothers (and the preceding two Moose Mountain series), the magic of the Mountain Spirit and Her Call has moved to Eagle Mountain. Jesse is the first Barnes brother at the Eagle Mountain Ranch to receive the Call when a beautiful veterinarian and horse whisperer arrives in town just in time for Jesse and his brothers to rescue a couple horses from a nearby ranch. From the moment Kendra arrives at the ranch to treat Buster, Jesse feels drawn to her, and she to him. However, Jesse is skeptical of everything in spite of witnessing Miller and Ellie-Mae's romance; especially how to explain what sounds like a fairytale to the scientist and physician in Kendra.
Marley Michaels has a gift of drawing you in and writing stories you cannot put down, and Jesse and Kendra's is no exception. Absolutely engaging and wonderful characters, steamy and romantic encounters, and the magic of the Mountain Spirit. Every time I pick up her newest novel, I think it cannot possibly be any better than the last, but somehow Ms Michaels continues to surprise me. I cannot recommend Jesse and Kendra's love story enough!

This is the beginning of a spin-off series, but reads like a stand-alone. This book follows vet/horse whisperer, Kendra, and rancher, Jesse. They come together to take care of neglected horse, Buster.
This was a little different from your typical western romance as there is the addition of The Call from Bear Mountain. I expected this to have a more American Indian backstory, but it really presents more like the reward for honoring and caring for the land, mountain, animals, etc. (More like Mother Nature, but not exactly.)
I enjoyed this read and am interested to see how the series develops for the other brothers. The premise might infer a clean romance, but definitely not one for under 18 due to language and conversations between characters. I might have enjoyed it more if it were a little more wholesome, but it was fine, not excessive crassness.
You will get your HEA. There are two epilogues (5 years/10years) which I thought was unusual. If this is supposed to be a series with overlapping characters, I would have maybe preferred the historical development of these characters over the series? Either way, it is fine. May just be a preference thing.

Cowboy Seeks a Horse Whisperer is the first book in the Eagle Mountain Ranch series and it is amazing! Jesse Barnes rescued two neglected horses from the ranch next door and realized that expert help is needed after losing one of them. When Jesse meets the new veterinarian, Kendra Archer, he starts experiencing the symptoms of the Call, which he did not believe in. As Jesse and Kendra work with Buster, the rescue horse, the attraction each feels becomes combustible. Jesse is forced to acknowledge that the Mountain Spirit legends are true, but struggles with how to tell Kendra about what is happening. When Jesse does tell her about the Mountain Spirit, Kendra reacts just as he feared - with disbelief. Despite the smoking hot chemistry between them, Kendra has a hard time believing in things not confirmed by science. It is her journey to acceptance of the Mountain Spirit that makes this story so interesting. I highly recommend Cowboy Seeks a Horse Whisperer - there are horses, hot cowboys and a strong woman who has to figure things out the hard way, the perfect combination for an addictive story.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Eagle Mountain Brothers why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. The call of the mountain is something amazing especially how it knows which two people belong together. Jesse is a sexy as all get out rancher who is doing just what he has always wanted to do run the family ranch. Dr. Archer (Kendra) sweet, kind to most, loves animals and is the local vet for the area. Jesse and Kendra meet when he rescues a mistreated horse in need of special care that they aren’t able to provide forcing their hand in calling the vet. The chemistry is intense, the thump, thump of the mountain making the magnetic pull impossible to ignore. So will Kendra the Horse-Whisperer and the Rancher find happiness?
This book is amazing! The Call has moved again and this time it’s to Eagle Mountain and it starts with Jesse on the ranch. Now that Miller and Ellie-Mae’s daughter is born, the Call has awoken at the Eagle Mountain ranch and Jesse is up first. The rescue of 2 neglected horses will bring his one to him in the form of the new vet in town, Kendra, who seems to have a way with horses. Her dream is to open a rehabilitation center for unwanted and neglected horses. They meet when Jesse and his brothers need her skills to check on Buster, a horse they rescued. The more time she spends with Buster and around Jesse, the closer they get. It will take a bit before he accepts the Call and he will wait to tell Kendra. It is at that time she gets the offer of her dreams and she will make the decision to follow it. As always, the time they spend apart will be hard but when she returns home, she is ready to embrace her place in Jesse’s life and her role on the mountain.

This book brings us Kendra Archer and Jesse Barnes. Jesse is a true cowboy, enjoying his life and his horses. One night, they find 2 mistreated horses, and tries to bring them back to the ranch, however, only 1 of the horses survived. The following morning, Jesse calls Kendra, the new vet and she has a way with horses. When Kendra arrives, she is horrified with the sight of Beau (that's what Jesse named him), and she vows she will do whatever it takes for him to lead a better life. Jesse is intrigued with Kendra, and when he feels something that he has never felt before, he realizes that he has "gotten the call" from the mountain. Kendra is also feeling something, but she has no idea about "the call." Jesse and Kendra decide to start to date and go slowly, but that quickly changes the more they get to know each other. I loved how Jesse would spend the night in the stable to be close to Beau. This was an amazing story and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.
I love this author and her books rarely disappoint. This is the story of Jesse Barnes and Kendra Archer. I like that the brothers are a bit "older". It's great when you read about younger lovers finding their mates, this is a great start to the Eagle Mountain Brothers series.
Kendra dreams of owning her own horse rescue center, but until she can do that she is called to Eagle mountain to work as a animal vet and use her horse whispering abilities. So her instant attraction to a cowboy that fills out Levi's, and dreams of a paradise, is confusing and disarming.
Jesse is a cowboy, born & bred, and plans to die one. He doesn't believe, at first, that the "Mountain Spirit" has come to their mountain, or will provide "his One". But seeing a sassy, sexy, spirited horse whisper, and the electricity when he touches her, he's starting to believe.
Enjoy their journey. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

No matter how far you go or how long you travel down your different path, I’ll always be here, on this ranch, waitin’ for you with open arms.
Look, I'll be honest. I did not expect this book to be as good as it was. I went in with low expectations and thought it would be a fluffy romance with a paranormal-type spin and that would be that. But no, this is full of heart and full of heat and full of feeling. And it knocked me over!! I loved Jesse and Kendra, I loved Eagle Mountain and the whole story of the Call and the power of the Mountain, I loved that too. This is my first Marley Michaels book (and at some point I will go back to the Moose Mountain series and start from there) and I can't wait to keep on reading more! More from this series and this author. And for anyone who hasn't read any of Marley's books, this one is fine to start with. Yes I think the experience will be richer if you start from the very beginning but enough is explained in this book that I didn't feel like I had no idea what was happening.
Kendra is the new Vet in town and has always had big dreams for her life. She’s always wanted to own her own horse rescue center. Now working in the small town in the Alaskan Mountains she’s one step closer to making her dream a reality. Jesse was born a Cowboy and will always be a Cowboy. He works with his brothers on the family ranch in the shadow of Eagle Mountain. They take pride in protecting the land while running one of the top producing ranches. Jesse rescues a mistreated horse that needs speciality care and he knows only one person, Kendra, the new Vet. When they meet there is immediate chemistry. There is magic on the mountain, strange dreams and soulmates to find out about. This is a very good, fast reading book. I really liked both Kendra and Jesse. You get to meet the other brothers for future books but they are part of the story. Kendra and Jesse both have to accept what is happening between them and allow each other to grow. I would definitely read more books by this author and this series.
