Welcome to Enchanted Enclave, where coffee, chaos and cauldrons are a way of life.
Fall has come to Enchanted Enclave, and with it, drama! The election to decide on a new mayor is fast approaching, and things are heating up between Aunt Lucy and Ariadne.
Meanwhile, Ross is trying to come to terms with his discovery of magic's existence, but he's going to have to do it quickly, because someone has been stealing things in Enchanted Enclave, and he's the detective assigned to the case.
But when Cackling Witch Coffee becomes one of the places hit by the thief, Eliza, Leanne and Kaillie aren't just going to stand around and wait idly by waiting for the case to be solved...
Samantha Silver lives in British Columbia, Canada, along with her husband and seventeen-year-old dog named Terra.
When she's not writing cozy mysteries, Samantha loves travelling (she's most recently been to Egypt, Jordan and Florida) skiing, eating Dairy Queen, and complaining about how hard running is.
Just how many times will Eliza explain all the things she told Ross in the previous book?
The first few chapters are full of redundant information repeated as if it's never been mentioned before. On top of that they both say "I love you" which is definitely not the first time and yet it's all about how it's the very first time it's been said.
I loathe poor continuity so I really don't recommend it.
The story is weak with another "I know who it is" moment. Aunt Lucy's feud with Ariadne is just a much weaker version of Lee's Aunt Tillie in the Winchester series which are in a class of their own, being well written full length novels.
This is an entertaining Supernatural Cozy mystery series. A fun cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. A family of witches lives in a small town on an island off the coast of Washington state. They run a local coffee shop or three cousins work two of which are witches and one who is not. One of the cousins mother and one of the other cousins father or a witch and wizard. Magic comes down through the family line on the mother side so one daughter from the uncle in the family does not have magic. One other cousin left the family with her mother and father when she was very young and her parents were both passed away and she was reunited with her family and found out she was a witch. Now back together she is learning magic and also found out there are portals to the supernatural world all around the world. At this point she plans on staying in the human world and living her life with her boyfriend the local detective and her familiar a cat. The cousins always seem to get involved in murder and crime investigations in a little town and it is always an entertaining and action field story when it happens. Read on and be entertained from beginning to end. Many of this authors different series have characters that intermix in the different book series so you will on occasion see characters from her other books popping up in each other’s books. Always a fun read.
Pumpkin Spell Latte is Book 7 in the Enchanted Enclave series by Samantha Silver.
Ross, Eliza's detective boyfriend his dealing with his newfound knowledge that magic exists. Meanwhile, there are a series of thefts in the local shops in Enchanted Enclave and Ross is in charge of the case.
The Mayoral Election is getting close too and Aunt Lucy and Ariadne are up to all kinds of drama trying to get all the votes.
I love the characters in this book. Eliza, Leanne and Kallie are such fantastic characters and make my heart happy how much they love each other.
The romance between Ross and Eliza is #goals!!
The mystery was great, and I wasn't even close to guessing who the perp was.
Lots of action in this book. The thief slipped away from the cousins and managed to catch Cleo. So poor Eliza had twice the incentive to try to find the thief. Eliza had to follow the yellow-brick road to find her and had to fight the thief and wound up getting stabbed, but Cleo's kingdom critters join in to keep the thief under control while Eliza called Ross for help. The mayoral candidates continue their ridiculous fight!
I really like this cozy mystery series. I like the characters and the plot of this story. I'm a bit disappointed I have to wait until August for the next installment but I am so looking forward to it.
