Life is good for Stella O'Neil. She's found her mother at last and is finally getting a chance to get to know her after 20 years apart. She's also just landed the listing of a lifetime!

Trouble always seems to find Stella though and this time it feels personal. When she goes with her client to visit the beautiful remote mansion, her client is brutally murdered. No one else is around for miles. Stella becomes the prime suspect. It's up to Stella to clear her name and find the killer.

She has no clues to follow until files start disappearing from her computer. Soon a threat follows. Stella is sure if she can find the person responsible, the hacker can lead her to the killer. But she doesn't have much time until she herself is arrested and tried- will she go to prison after her mother was just released?

Stella O'Neill has an appointment for an exclusive showing of a house for sale to Mr. Hardcastle, a very rich individual. This sale is termed a Pocket Sale, since the property has not yet been officially listed for sale. Stella arrives at the mansion a few minutes late and rather than showing the house to Mr. Hardcastle, she meets his Assistant, Andy. After showing the house, Andy was only back in the car momentarily before yelling, that Mr. Hardcastle was dead!! Looking in the car, Stella could see that Hardcastle had a knife sticking out of his chest.

As the father of a new baby and a recent divorcee, the question of motive continues to mount. While researching online, Stella uncovers several pictures that only add to the mystery.

Who killed Hardcastle? Why was he killed? When was he killed? Can Stella figure out who is responsible? Is there any way Stella can solve the mystery without endangering herself?

CeeCee James has another intriguing mystery here with plenty of suspects plus an abundance of misleading clues. While the primary mystery is solved, there is a minor background question that is left open for a future episode.

Fell short

I really like this series but it seemed a little obvious who the killer was. Also, she's a real estate agent who's landlord is selling her house but it never occurs to her to consider buying it? I like the other characters but there is just no heat between her and her boyfriend. She had more chemistry with her neighbor. Lastly, why doesn't she know who lives next door? She wonders if the cat belongs to them but doesn't know them by now?

A few problems with this book for me. First off the murder seemed so obvious, I wondered why the police didn't jump on Andy from the start. It was strange that they targeted Stella at all because she was never alone with Hardcastle or even saw him.
Plus it bothered me that the book before this one, Stella had to swim for her life and it was a swim that even a Olympic swimmer would have had a hard time surviving, and then in this book she can barely swim.

CeeCee James’ Flamingo Realty series is one of the first series I fell in love with when I discovered that cozy mysteries were a “thing”. [Who knew?] Eight volumes into the misadventures of Stella O’Neil, and that love affair is still going strong.

Somehow, Stella’s career in real estate is fraught with dead bodies and mysteries to unravel, and when she finally gets her biggest listing, you know it’s going to give her more headaches than commissions.

James has woven an intricate tale here, and though I had my suspicions as to who the culprit was, that did not in any way keep me from reading on. I mean, after all, I’ve been wrong so many times! This is a great, fun read – I read it in one sitting – and easily works as a standalone, or as your first taste before diving in to catch up with Stella. Highly recommended!

I just can't get enough of this delightful series. Stella is a wonderfully fun character and her family is quite unique and very interesting.
The mysteries Stella gets involved in are super tough to solve and so much fun to read about and attempt to figure out before she does. I can't quite manage to solve them first though, as CeeCee James definitely knows how to write a wicked cool mystery.
If you enjoy cozy mysteries with a splash of clean romance, you will adore this book and the whole series.
Highly recommended!

This is a short installment in the Stella O'Neil real estate mysteries. Stella and her mom are slipping into a comfortable relationship and Stella is still looking for her first real estate listing that does NOT include a dead body! This time, a gentleman who was waiting in the car while his assistant asked Stella to show him the property. Stella's boyfriend Carlson would prefer that Stella not be involved in the investigation, but she just can't help herself!

As always, CeeCee James delivers another fun tale for Stella and her ever-growing family. Nice to see her settling in and a new romance blooming. The murder mystery was good. Would have liked a little more of the computer hacker stuff and her Uncle and Oscar helping but overall, I am always happy to read one of these books. I am really looking forward to seeing how things turn out with the next installment.

The love of life one day at a time!

CeeCee James really knows how to tell great stories around murders. Her main character Stella is surrounded by family, friends who support her as she supports them. Love a cool mystery? Read her Flamingo Realty series and laugh, cringe and try to solve each mystery. ENJOY!!!

This is a good cozy mystery series based in Pennsylvania at a Realty Company. Stella has moved back home, and after her Mum was released from prison, things are settling down.

However, things don't stay quiet for long, and when a client is murdered whilst she's showing a house to his assistant, she's considered a suspect, especially when her computer is hacked!

These books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.

Will Stella get the sale of a lifetime or end up dead like the body in the car? Will she lose her boyfriend or will they stay together? So glad she finally found her mother and they are getting to know each other.

This book seemed as if the author was in a hurry to write this one without checking her previous books. How did Stella’s landlord go from Mrs. Crawford to Mrs. Carmichael? Also, not sure the name of Uncle Chris’ bar is correct.

Another solid entry in this series. There isn’t as much about the house (I.e. the real estate porn), but plenty of opportunity for the characters to shine.

Who killed the rich guy?

So well-written. Lots of subtle clues, and the characters are the best. Stella and Oscar are my favorites. Impatient for the next one.
