I've only discovered Moonscape about a month ago, but now I've read almost every one of her works. She might just be my favorite Thai author this year. ปลูกดอกไม้ในดวงใจ is a charming slice of life. Moonscape always has a clever way with words, and she does that in ปลูกดอกไม้ในดวงใจ too; the language of the book makes me feel warm, at ease, almost like returning to a long-lost home. I love how the book touches on several social issues such as the patriarchy, LGBTQIA+ representation as well as exclusion, and capitalism; Moonscape does this in a non-subtle yet flowing manner, so it doesn't feel forced at all. I also relate to the character of ย่านาง so much and want to give her a hug after every chapter, haha. After finishing this, I have overwhelming emotions, but the strongest one above all is hope. This book gives me hope to create, to be creative again in this capitalistic world where creativity is so restricted.
