Remember, each one of us is a Boss, each one of us is special. Some books speak what we always have on our mind and this book is one such book. There is nothing which we can disagree with from the book.
• You need to get up and try to walk again. It doesn’t matter how many people laugh at you; what matters is how many people walked with you. Again, it’s perfectly okay if no one walks with you, but try to be the support that someone needs so that they don’t have to walk alone.•

Book:- Boss Lady : Leap, Rise & Shine Author:- Smita Shetty Format:- e-book Rating:- 5/5
Review:- The book is all about how a woman can live for her dream. The theme of the book is to be yourself, recognise your strength and weaknesses. The author very marvellously explains the fact that one must not try to be someone else; because originality is worth copy. Women empowerment is focused on by the author. She jots down few facts which are as follows: • No one else can change your life except you. • Woman must protest the word "being allowed" or someone "letting" them do something they dream to. • Everyone has right to make their own decisions; including women. • No one need to be perfect; including women. • You just need to proud of being imperfectly perfect. • No one should ever apologize for being ambitious, self confident and strong-minded; including women. The author wants every woman to fly high in the sky. She also asks women to consider themselves as a surviver rather than a victim. The best point in the book is :- Never expect everyone to like you! It's not your job to be likeable, you just have to be you, yourself! Few points from the book that hit me hard are:- • Dream Big • Rebuild yourself • Accept Criticism • Own your mistakes The author have also explained the beauty of being a "FEMINIST". To avail yourselves with the same beauty, just dig deep into the book now. Believe me, you'll love each and every line of the book. Conclusion:- Recognise and accept your weaknesses.
This is a book based on motivating and inspiring one to work harder and bring out the best version of themselves. The book is divided into several chapters explaining the different perspectives of professional life and the ground on which a female has should work to achieve her goal. It is one of those books which has so much to give its readers. It is presented in a very unique manner that the reader enjoys reading and understanding it thoroughly. The author has included in the short stories in form of the chapters which makes it interesting and also it gives that extra boost of motivation to the reader. The language used in this book is very simple and easy. The narration is very friendly thus making it a good read for all the readers. It's definitely a good read. Plus as it's a short book, it was a quick read and I finished it in one sitting only.

The simplicity of the language and the brilliance of the words show the creativity and brilliance of the author. #Bosslady - Leap, Rise and Shine by Smita Shetty was an inspiring and empowering read. The book focuses on believing in oneself and not giving up. The book inspires every girl out there to dream big and achieve every one of them. Shetty shares her personal and professional experiences and how she learnt from those.
Everybody has their own potential. We just have to strongly believe in ourselves and never forget what we can achieve. The author discussed day-to-day basic problems faced by women and how to overcome those.
We all live in this society with gender differences. Women are often discriminated against and not given a chance just because of gender roles. Shetty motivates how to overcome such problems and hold on to your dreams.
A woman must and always fight for her dreams and passions no matter what. Crossing the barriers might be tough, but worth it. ✨
I liked the bold picture the author created by penning down this book. It's a must read for every woman out there who dares to dream big. It's a book mainly based on feminism and gender equality. It was a small read under 100 pages. Do give it a read.
" The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before"~ Albert Einstein
🌸We as women know our strengths and weaknesses and definitely know how to balance our lives accordingly but still there are certain situations at times in our lives where we take a back seat and compromise. This book is an informative and motivational push for each and every woman to stand for themselves and make their mark. The author of this book has been a market researcher where she had the opportunity to meet and work with women from different walks of life. There she experienced how women have to go through different lanes of discrimination and bear the pressures of society. She explains how women need to understand their worth and look beyond imperfections to achieve their goals.
🌸Book starts with a very optimistic poem named "Fly high girl!" where she speaks to break the norms of the so called society and let your dreams fly. Author has also shared her real life experiences in the book which is really interesting to read that how at a very early age of 22 itself in her career she stood for what was right without caring about the repurcussions. It's a very well thought book as being a woman I can highly relate to whatever has been written in the book.
🌸 Topics that I really liked were that how you should work on your strengths to make them better than concentrating on your weaknesses. You got to be fearless and accept your failures with your head high. A woman should be a woman's friend (sakhi) and motivate other women to move forward.Last but not the least "Reset and realign expectations" which implies how to balance between work and personal life so that we can achieve what we want without being guilty or selfish.
🌸 Conclusion of the book is really impressive where author has simplified the meaning of boss lady in a nutshell and I would like to quote two lines from this "A boss lady is a supporter and a giver She is ambitious and an achiever She is in every girl or woman who has a dream and flies high"
🌸I would highly recommend this book to each and every woman out there, no matter if you are 20 or 60 this book will definitely help you in some way or the other. It's a 5/5
"#BOSSLADY: Leap, Rise & Shine" is a powerful and inspirational book that aims to uplift and empower women to achieve their dreams and break free from self-limiting beliefs. Authored by Smita Shetty with passion and sincerity, this book is not just a guide but a heartfelt call to action for women to dream big and soar high in life.
The book opens with testimonials from prominent leaders in the business world, emphasizing the importance of women's voices and contributions in the professional arena. It sets the tone for what follows—a compelling narrative filled with the author's personal experiences and life lessons, both from her career and personal journey. It consists of 17 lessons that are short but will give practical help to women in the work force and take control and write the story of your life the way you want to.
The central message of "#BOSSLADY" is clear: women are encouraged to aspire for more, take the leap, and rise to their full potential. It's not only a rallying cry for women but also a call for men to actively support and champion women in their aspirations. The book recognizes that achieving gender equality and fostering diversity in the workplace is not just a women's issue but a collective responsibility.
What sets this book apart is its authenticity and relatability. It speaks directly to women, offering them a reliable companion and reference guide during life's challenges and crossroads. Despite its concise length, it packs a punch, delivering motivation and encouragement to women who may be facing adversity or self-doubt.
The author's heartfelt commitment to the cause shines through in every page. She genuinely wants every woman to believe in her potential and strive for success beyond her perceived limitations. Her personal anecdotes and insights provide valuable guidance for women starting on their journey toward success, reminding them that they can conquer greater heights.
In a world that often tells women to give up or settle for less, "#BOSSLADY" is a refreshing and much-needed source of inspiration. It ignites the spark within every woman, encouraging her to pursue her dreams with determination and resilience. The book champions the idea that women have the power to achieve more than they think possible.
....You will be told not to dream, You will be taught not to scream, And that you deserve only the milk, not the cream; Don’t let them crush your self-esteem. Fly High Girl, Fly High! It’s okay to become a sore to someone’s eye, Fly High Girl, Fly High!...’
The book starts with these beautiful lines as a part of the poem. When I started the book, I thought it would be more about the insights of corporate life as a leader. However, it was much more than that. The author has written so many motivational, positive and beautiful insights and learnings about self-love, acceptance, beating the orthodox beliefs and societal stigma about women, treading in life with confidence, learning from mistakes, camaraderie and staying true and supportive to the friends and much more.
In the write up called ‘Allowances’, there is a mention of how we must not follow the predefined or predetermined notions of the people that bog us down or jeopardises us and our happiness and dreams. We must take a stand for our wishes and spend a quality ‘me’ and a ‘we’ time. There is also an emphasis on the importance of equality, bashing the patriarchy.
In another write-up called ‘never APologize For your ConFidenCe’, the author has mentioned about her experiences at work and how she was judged or assessed with preconceived notions about women. And how positively she has dodged them, learnt from them and overcame the barriers. She has also added necessary quotes from leaders or influencers that holds a lot of meaning. Another write up which I loved was Imposter Syndrome, which speaks about trying and entering into new ventures and exploring your capabilities and thinking out of the box.
All the write-ups are patronising, cheerful, inspiring and it gives great insights. This is a highly recommended read, especially for women. Adding to it, I liked the aesthetic cover and the illustration added in the book.
'Women empowerment' this term has many dimensions and all of these dimensions are well explained in this excellent book '#BOSSLADY' by author Smita Shetty.
We live in a society where women face discriminatory treatment- whether at their workplace or in their own family. She has to struggle a lot to overcome the odds set by society in every field of her life.
This book is for all women out there because they are the ones who need to examine their motives, influences, and attitudes. Women should not give the authority to anyone— not even to bring change in their lives. They should be the decision-makers of their own lives.
There are many books available in this genre but there are a few points that make this book unique. Unlike other books, this book is not just for working women because every woman is a working woman- either she works in any organization or she is working in her house. Many stereotypical notions like this have been broken in this book.
The very first chapter has left me amazed. Here, the author talks about how women give the right to men to 'let us do something'. Be it our husband or our father, we are not obliged to anyone to take allowance for anything.
This book also talks about how we are built by our experiences. Here I would like to quote the author— "Life gives us experience but it takes away our Innocence."
I love one chapter the most - Strength and Weaknesses and it changed my perception. From our childhood, we are instructed to overcome our weaknesses to give our best but nobody ever tells us to embrace our strength but when we sharpen our strength, we get the best result. It is okay to have weaknesses as long as you recognize them and try to work on improving them. I got this valuable lesson from this book.
This is a captivating read that resonates deeply. I truly believe that this book is worth everyone's read.
Starting with the title "BOSS LADY" it befitting the content inside the book. Every girl/ woman they like to call themselves "BOSS LADY". I know it is not easy to become one. In this book the author SMITHA SHETTY clearly explain about self love with her own experiences and thoughts.
In this book, from all her life experiences and challenges the author makes the point that we are all great, we all have enormous potential, we all possess the power to succeed at absolutely everything we direct our energy towards. Smitha identifies common thought processes and behaviours that keep us from living a truly awesome life and she coaches the readers on how to identify them, replace them and move forward like a badass.
The chapter which i like the most is "UNLEARNING TO LEARN", every one of us learns to accept the changes and learn from it. I am totally agree with her on this idea of lifelong learning to gain knowledge. I love this quote" The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn". This book served with a healthy dose of humour, a smidge of sarcasm and plenty of great quotes. It will give you the perky " You can do it" attitude.
"Self love is not selfish" the whole purpose of the book is to freaking change your life already. Make a difference, Love what you do, Love yourself, Love your life, Put your best foot forward again and again. Are you where you want to be in your life? Doing what you want? Living where you want? You have to want it, crave it, need it- can't live without it! if that's the place you are in, this is your book. Go get your copy read it, achieve and surround yourself with other rock stars.
Blurb- Are you a woman who has dreams to fly high in life? What is stopping you from being a Boss Lady?
#Bosslady brims with the author’s experiences and learnings from both her professional and personal life. A book that’s written straight from the heart, it aims to empower women to dream big.
The motto of this book is to inspire women to aspire for more and take the next big leap. It is also for men to go the extra mile to support women in their aspirations.
If you are a woman, this book is your friend, companion and reference guide, whenever you are in life’s crossroads. It is a short read that will keep you motivated when the world tells you to give up.

She shares her learnings so that women can start early and march ahead towards success and conquer greater heights.
My review- This one I think is for all those ladies out there being their own bosses!
Aim is to make young women realise their self worth & to inspire them to be their own bosses.
The authors background in the corporate world makes her an expert in this topic. The author strongly believes that all women need to be treated equal just like their male counterparts. That they need to be acknowledged when they do something right & reprimanded for their mistakes.
Though a short book, this one has opened my eyes upto something vastly different. All the thoughts the author has, the words that she had said make sense in the most unexpected way.
🍁 We are living in a society that is well-versed with the rights that women should have but are against letting them come into practice. Through this short read, the author wishes to reach out to as many as possible and make them believe in themselves. The book is based on the author’s experiences and learnings from both her professional and personal life. It aims at empowering women to dream big and gain success.
🍁 The book features her experiences in the past. She aims to inspire women and aspire them to believe that they can achieve more than what they think they can. Every woman has her own potential and this needs to be identified. She reaches out to men to help and support such women in gaining success and to let them fly.
🍁 Women too contribute a lot to society, but they can contribute more, if only we recognize their true potential and do not become a hindrance to their dreams. The author wishes to convey that women can become their own bosses. Through this simple book, she wishes to instill confidence in the readers.
🍁 The book is paced well. For a short read, it has a lot to offer. The writing style is gripping and entertaining. It is definitely an informative read. The cover is catchy and complements the content. The title is apt. Would recommend this book to all women out there who are thinking of stepping up in their personal as well as the professional life.
In this book, the author shares her experiences about her life. This book tells us that a woman can do more than what they think they can. This book encourages us to be our own boss, we don't have to take someone's permission to do the things we like.
The book's main motive is to inspire women to achieve anything that they want in their lives. The author also shares her experience and learnings that she got in her life. She also shares some techniques and rules that can help to tackle any difficult situations in life.
Fear is the big enemy of ours and It can become a hindrance in the way of our success. So, in this book, we will also get to know how to become fearless in life and move ahead toward success.
This book covers everything we need to know and learn about permissions, self-worth and self-love, harassment, how society reacts to women's accomplishments, how to be courageous, focused, and ambitious about our dreams, consistency, and motivation. And, with an excellent explanation of feminism, this book is unquestionably a must-read.
This book got me hooked right from the start and you just can't stop reading it unless you finish it. The book is really good. One must buy it and get inspired thoroughly. It's a great book to learn and get motivated positively. Overall, I loved the way the book has been presented in front of the readers. The title and cover of the book go well with the story. From my side, it's recommended.
Everyone should read this beautiful book. The book is all of 96 pages and deals with most issues women face.
The writer address the topics she has faced being a woman as of now. It has some hilarious stories, so sad stories, some stories to ponder over however every story has depth in it and every story teaches us the meaning of being a woman in some way or the other
Women for centuries have been told what to do, the book focus on that, it's time we women learnt what is correct for us and what is not. I really did like a point made in the book that said most upper income class women face mire patriarchy than others. Maybe consciously or subconsciously but it actually made me think and how true is that.
The incident in the book about the author being harrased by one of her clients nephew in her early career days in sales, I found it so relatable, I however liked the response of her husband and boss.
So this book is not about make bashing, it's about balancing an act and first knowing that we women are individuals and after 18 years of age it's our life and our choices of what we do with our life, we don't need people telling or allowing us to do anything.
The writing of the book is kept simple and easy for everyone to read. The books is fast paced, it's like reading stories which all have truth in them.
“There is a moment when you need to choose whether to be silent or speak up.”
Malala
Boss lady book by Smita Shetty is a breaking glass strategy for me. This book will give you clearcut ideas of thoughts and solutions to the issues faced by the women.
The author has got my attention in her very first chapter with her bold statements like " Whether I cook, study, travel or party, it is MY CHOICE. What I wear is also MY CHOICE. The the day I turned 18, all these became my choices to make. They are my choices and ONLY MINE."
Women have got big dreams but achieving them is not so easy. This book will inspire every last piece of women's blood to fight for their goals. This book will not only help you to achieve your goals this will inspire you to dream high and achieve higher.
The author has given her life experiences about her both professional and personal life.
She insisted that women can achieve more and more when given support. The author has talked about how not only men but also women, treat other women badly. The author just beautifully depicted how For us women, getting unconditional and continuous support at home plays a crucial role in our careers.
Never apologize for your confidence because that way women can become their own boss.
So it to recommend every single man and woman around to read this book.

I was moved by the author’s contagious Excitement and upbeat attitude, which encourages women to consider their accomplishments and goals for the future. Boss Lady breaks down barriers, fosters gender equality, and makes the world a better place.
I was amazed at how effortlessly the author has narrated such sensitive topics. A lot of homework and research was evident throughout the book. If you read any part of the book you will relate to it. So my advice would be to Read it in chunks and take time to introspect.
“You teach people how to treat you by what you allow, what you stop and what you reinforce.”
This story is about a women, a women who is you and me, a Boss Lady. It can be you and it definitely is me. I could relate myself to each and every word of this book. Author who too considers herself and the women around her as Boss Lady is strong, helps others, is powerful, stands for powerless, bosses around and at the same time stays on ground. She is an extremist, a pacifist, an educator, a farmer and an epitome of patience.
One thing that inspired me and made me feel strong about a very important decision of my life is the importance of ‘pause and play’. Yes today I can actually feel that after working for 16 years in my life, I finally decided to take out some time for myself.
Out of 3 options suggested by author Smita Shetty I chose option C: When everything is going fine, it’s the time to pause and enjoy the moment and I totally agree to her that It’s very important to pursue success and happiness but it is more important to pause and enjoy the moment.
Indeed a very encouraging and motivating story for every women. I would definitely recommend this book to all my friends.

"Feminism isn't about making women stronger. Women are already strong, it's about changing the way the world perceives that strength."
~ G.D. Anderson
🍁 In this book lots of her past stories shared by the Author. Within 90+ pages you'll get to know about feminism & the unstoppable attitude of a woman for herself and the other womans. A girl boss means being yourself and pursuing your own ambitions with confidence. You have to take ownership of your own life. You do you.
🍁 The book was short, impactful, interesting, enjoyable at the same time. Totally a must read for everyone. Be it a man or a woman. Author inspired by this masterpiece to all the women's out there to get up and achieve what they want irrespective what the society will think. She inspired by her stories and what she achieved today even being in a typical Indian family.

So, this book is very beneficial as it helps in boosting confidence and keep you motivated.
I would like to thank the author for writing such an inspirational book especially for women. I assure you will definitely love this book.
Won't be wrong to define the narration I witnessed in this book with the term magnificent as, it is magnificent. First things first. It's the author who has put in these efforts to bring out the struggle of a lady throughout her life and how she deserves a right to bloom and not be considered as another curtain which could be pulled down at any moment of life by the society. Author has made me travel from a zone completely different to a mood which easily once again shook my thoughts. The words can work fine enough for a lady who tries and reads this book with a pinch of hope in the mind to get up and do something which she loves or loved throughout her life but couldn't do. Being a man myself, I haven't considered myself as a part of what other men around me are. The sadistic ones. I've assisted myself in terms of helping women bloom and this book brought in hopes in my mind as well, to keep up with what I've been trying to do since a while now. This book is a worthy read and should be grabbed without a second thought.
Bosslady: Leap, Rise & Shine by Smita Shetty is a great source of inspiration for today’s young women who crave more from their careers. Through author Smita Shetty’s personal journey and stories, you know you’re not alone when feeling stuck or disillusioned with your current career circumstances. I especially love how unflinchingly and honestly she shares the stories of her life and fearlessly made moves , small and large, that moved her toward more authentic and fulfilling career path.
Smita doesn't pretend that an approach will solve all of the problems that the women in position of leadership face. Instead she looks at the playing field with a clear eye and gives a brilliant analysis of the pitfalls and heights ahead, helping readers guide their personal evolution with a strong sense of what the costs and rewards of our behaviour could be. It's incredibly empowering read and puts the focus in the right place- work and how to do it best.
I loved this book a lot. It was a short read and I finished it in one sitting. The motive of this book is to inspire young women to aspire for more and live their dreams. Author says that every woman must fly according to her wish and her dreams. She have right to chase her dream in her own way whether in a saree or in shorts. Women contribute a lot to society, but they can contribute more, if only we recognize their true potential and support them to reach their dreams.
This beautiful message was explained through life stories that will grabs the readers attention. What I like about in this book is that there are some of author's personal experiences, her family and friends stories. Everyone have the different role in one's life.
I am happy that the author was successful to convey the message she wants. The language is simply and book cover designed in a way that is exactly suitable for the story. Even the title of the book is apt to the story because author inspires women to become their own bosses.
The book is based on the author’s experiences and learnings from both her professional and personal life, the struggles that she, being a women went through & how she managed to be successful in her career.
It's a very short & simple read. This book is divided into 17 Chapters, this book is full of motivational and inspirational. In this book author says that every woman must fly according to her wish and her dreams and this book also beautiful message was explained through life stories. After reading this book you feel positive and inspired.

Boss Lady : Leap, Rise and Shine by Smita Shetty is an inspirational book, written to inspire all the humans, especially women, who are undergoing so many tough things in their professional corporate lives. 💫Having these experiences in her life herself, she has inspired and motivated so many people through this book. 💫This book's main theme is also Feminism and Gender Equality, which is very much needed in the present scenario because of the prevailing injustices being caused to women. Her sayings of how women should know and fight for their rights and also of how each and every human shouldn't give up, follow their passion, learn to accept their mistakes and also be a good listener to the criticisms helps in self development.
Overall, I think this book deserves a 5 star and I recommend everyone to read it, get motivated and inspired by it and implement some things in their life to make it a better one. Past is past, the present is where we have to do something right so that it frames our future in the best way possible!
"Boss Lady," written by Smita Shetty, is a book that is based on women's empowerment. In our country, the people preach a lot but never practice what they preach, and they're a lot of things in which preachers preach, but nothing comes into reality, and women empowerment is such a thing. This is a short read on women's empowerment and about the rights of women. . This book has explained the problems that women go through in the corporate fields. It has also described the author's journey about her journey in the man world, which is full of politics. I liked how she told the struggles of women in this world, especially in corporate, but I didn't connect with the book because of the language. I felt that the language was very straightforward, which made me not connect with the book. But this book has some beautiful poems and good illustrations, which will make a good impact on the readers. I would certainly recommend this book for beginners but not for avid readers.
The title of book explains volume about each inspirational chapter in book. This book has 17 different fragments, each with different melody of lessons. Some lines are sensitive, Explained wisely by Author. Book relates all the issues, a women face in every click of life. Words used here are simple, genric and close to heart. I would not say it’s an women empowerment but a myth buster. There are crores of holes In our society but we are failing as society. This book is a great initative to upbring the lost slogan. Author has systematically planned and narrated the issues over-ruling our society. A must read book for every human out here. Smita shetty ma’am has beautifully explained the complete universe of women life. Reading this book will change the complete perspective and ‘ll introduce you to the new garden of positiveness.
