Remember, each one of us is a Boss, each one of us is special. Some books speak what we always have on our mind and this book is one such book. There is nothing which we can disagree with from the book.
• You need to get up and try to walk again. It doesn’t matter how many people laugh at you; what matters is how many people walked with you. Again, it’s perfectly okay if no one walks with you, but try to be the support that someone needs so that they don’t have to walk alone.•

The book is all about how a woman can live for her dream. The theme of the book is to be yourself, recognise your strength and weaknesses. The author very marvellously explains the fact that one must not try to be someone else; because originality is worth copy.
Women empowerment is focused on by the author. She jots down few facts which are as follows:
• No one else can change your life except you.
• Woman must protest the word "being allowed" or someone "letting" them do something they dream to.
• Everyone has right to make their own decisions; including women.
• No one need to be perfect; including women.
• You just need to proud of being imperfectly perfect.
• No one should ever apologize for being ambitious, self confident and strong-minded; including women.
The author wants every woman to fly high in the sky. She also asks women to consider themselves as a surviver rather than a victim.
The best point in the book is :- Never expect everyone to like you! It's not your job to be likeable, you just have to be you, yourself!
Few points from the book that hit me hard are:-

This is a book based on motivating and inspiring one to work harder and bring out the best version of themselves. The book is divided into several chapters explaining the different perspectives of professional life and the ground on which a female has should work to achieve her goal. It is one of those books which has so much to give its readers. It is presented in a very unique manner that the reader enjoys reading and understanding it thoroughly.
The author has included in the short stories in form of the chapters which makes it interesting and also it gives that extra boost of motivation to the reader.
The language used in this book is very simple and easy. The narration is very friendly thus making it a good read for all the readers. It's definitely a good read.
Plus as it's a short book, it was a quick read and I finished it in one sitting only.

🌸We as women know our strengths and weaknesses and definitely know how to balance our lives accordingly but still there are certain situations at times in our lives where we take a back seat and compromise. This book is an informative and motivational push for each and every woman to stand for themselves and make their mark. The author of this book has been a market researcher where she had the opportunity to meet and work with women from different walks of life. There she experienced how women have to go through different lanes of discrimination and bear the pressures of society. She explains how women need to understand their worth and look beyond imperfections to achieve their goals.
🌸Book starts with a very optimistic poem named "Fly high girl!" where she speaks to break the norms of the so called society and let your dreams fly. Author has also shared her real life experiences in the book which is really interesting to read that how at a very early age of 22 itself in her career she stood for what was right without caring about the repurcussions. It's a very well thought book as being a woman I can highly relate to whatever has been written in the book.
🌸 Topics that I really liked were that how you should work on your strengths to make them better than concentrating on your weaknesses. You got to be fearless and accept your failures with your head high. A woman should be a woman's friend (sakhi) and motivate other women to move forward.Last but not the least "Reset and realign expectations" which implies how to balance between work and personal life so that we can achieve what we want without being guilty or selfish.

It’s okay to become a sore to someone’s eye, Fly High Girl, Fly High!...’
The book starts with these beautiful lines as a part of the poem. When I started the book, I thought it would be more about the insights of corporate life as a leader. However, it was much more than that. The author has written so many motivational, positive and beautiful insights and learnings about self-love, acceptance, beating the orthodox beliefs and societal stigma about women, treading in life with confidence, learning from mistakes, camaraderie and staying true and supportive to the friends and much more.
In the write up called ‘Allowances’, there is a mention of how we must not follow the predefined or predetermined notions of the people that bog us down or jeopardises us and our happiness and dreams. We must take a stand for our wishes and spend a quality ‘me’ and a ‘we’ time. There is also an emphasis on the importance of equality, bashing the patriarchy.
In another write-up called ‘never APologize For your ConFidenCe’, the author has mentioned about her experiences at work and how she was judged or assessed with preconceived notions about women. And how positively she has dodged them, learnt from them and overcame the barriers. She has also added necessary quotes from leaders or influencers that holds a lot of meaning. Another write up which I loved was Imposter Syndrome, which speaks about trying and entering into new ventures and exploring your capabilities and thinking out of the box.
All the write-ups are patronising, cheerful, inspiring and it gives great insights. This is a highly recommended read, especially for women. Adding to it, I liked the aesthetic cover and the illustration added in the book.

'Women empowerment' this term has many dimensions and all of these dimensions are well explained in this excellent book '#BOSSLADY' by author Smita Shetty.
We live in a society where women face discriminatory treatment- whether at their workplace or in their own family.
She has to struggle a lot to overcome the odds set by society in every field of her life.
This book is for all women out there because they are the ones who need to examine their motives, influences, and attitudes. Women should not give the authority to anyone— not even to bring change in their lives. They should be the decision-makers of their own lives.
There are many books available in this genre but there are a few points that make this book unique.
Unlike other books, this book is not just for working women because every woman is a working woman- either she works in any organization or she is working in her house.
Many stereotypical notions like this have been broken in this book.
The very first chapter has left me amazed. Here, the author talks about how women give the right to men to 'let us do something'. Be it our husband or our father, we are not obliged to anyone to take allowance for anything.
This book also talks about how we are built by our experiences. Here I would like to quote the author—
"Life gives us experience but it takes away our Innocence."
I love one chapter the most - Strength and Weaknesses and it changed my perception.
From our childhood, we are instructed to overcome our weaknesses to give our best but nobody ever tells us to embrace our strength but when we sharpen our strength, we get the best result. It is okay to have weaknesses as long as you recognize them and try to work on improving them. I got this valuable lesson from this book.
This is a captivating read that resonates deeply.

The very first chapter has left me amazed. Here, the author talks about how women give the right to men to 'let us do something'. Be it our husband or our father, we are not obliged to anyone to take allowance for anything.
This book also talks about how we are built by our experiences. Here I would like to quote the author—

I love one chapter the most - Strength and Weaknesses and it changed my perception.
From our childhood, we are instructed to overcome our weaknesses to give our best but nobody ever tells us to embrace our strength but when we sharpen our strength, we get the best result. It is okay to have weaknesses as long as you recognize them and try to work on improving them. I got this valuable lesson from this book.

the book. Every girl/ woman they like to call themselves "BOSS LADY".
I know it is not easy to become one. In this book the author SMITHA SHETTY
clearly explain about self love with her own experiences and thoughts.
In this book, from all her life experiences and challenges the author makes the
point that we are all great, we all have enormous potential, we all possess the
power to succeed at absolutely everything we direct our energy towards. Smitha
identifies common thought processes and behaviours that keep us from living a
truly awesome life and she coaches the readers on how to identify them, replace
them and move forward like a badass.

Everyone should read this beautiful book. The book is all of 96 pages and deals with most issues women face.
The writer address the topics she has faced being a woman as of now. It has some hilarious stories, so sad stories, some stories to ponder over however every story has depth in it and every story teaches us the meaning of being a woman in some way or the other
Women for centuries have been told what to do, the book focus on that, it's time we women learnt what is correct for us and what is not. I really did like a point made in the book that said most upper income class women face mire patriarchy than others. Maybe consciously or subconsciously but it actually made me think and how true is that.
The incident in the book about the author being harrased by one of her clients nephew in her early career days in sales, I found it so relatable, I however liked the response of her husband and boss.

This story is about a women, a women who is you and me, a Boss Lady. It can be you and it definitely is me. I could relate myself to each and every word of this book. Author who too considers herself and the women around her as Boss Lady is strong, helps others, is powerful, stands for powerless, bosses around and at the same time stays on ground. She is an extremist, a pacifist, an educator, a farmer and an epitome of patience.
One thing that inspired me and made me feel strong about a very important decision of my life is the importance of ‘pause and play’. Yes today I can actually feel that after working for 16 years in my life, I finally decided to take out some time for myself.
Out of 3 options suggested by author Smita Shetty I chose option C: When everything is going fine, it’s the time to pause and enjoy the moment and I totally agree to her that It’s very important to pursue success and happiness but it is more important to pause and enjoy the moment.

Won't be wrong to define the narration I witnessed in this book with the term magnificent as, it is magnificent.
First things first. It's the author who has put in these efforts to bring out the struggle of a lady throughout her life and how she deserves a right to bloom and not be considered as another curtain which could be pulled down at any moment of life by the society. Author has made me travel from a zone completely different to a mood which easily once again shook my thoughts. The words can work fine enough for a lady who tries and reads this book with a pinch of hope in the mind to get up and do something which she loves or loved throughout her life but couldn't do. Being a man myself, I haven't considered myself as a part of what other men around me are. The sadistic ones.
I've assisted myself in terms of helping women bloom and this book brought in hopes in my mind as well, to keep up with what I've been trying to do since a while now.

The words can work fine enough for a lady who tries and reads this book with a pinch of hope in the mind to get up and do something which she loves or loved throughout her life but couldn't do. Being a man myself, I haven't considered myself as a part of what other men around me are. The sadistic ones.
I've assisted myself in terms of helping women bloom and this book brought in hopes in my mind as well, to keep up with what I've been trying to do since a while now.
This book is a worthy read and should be grabbed without a second thought.

I loved this book a lot. It was a short read and I finished it in one sitting. The motive of this book is to inspire young women to aspire for more and live their dreams. Author says that every woman must fly according to her wish and her dreams. She have right to chase her dream in her own way whether in a saree or in shorts. Women contribute a lot to society, but they can contribute more, if only we recognize their true potential and support them to reach their dreams.
This beautiful message was explained through life stories that will grabs the readers attention. What I like about in this book is that there are some of author's personal experiences, her family and friends stories. Everyone have the different role in one's life.
I am happy that the author was successful to convey the message she wants. The language is simply and book cover designed in a way that is exactly suitable for the story. Even the title of the book is apt to the story because author inspires women to become their own bosses.

The narration style is really amazing, I like the author ...specially every point is explained with the help of real-life experience it was mind-blowing. The writing style is dam good. I would definitely recommend to everyone.

Boss Lady : Leap, Rise and Shine by Smita Shetty is an inspirational book, written to inspire all the humans, especially women, who are undergoing so many tough things in their professional corporate lives.
💫Having these experiences in her life herself, she has inspired and motivated so many people through this book.
💫This book's main theme is also Feminism and Gender Equality, which is very much needed in the present scenario because of the prevailing injustices being caused to women. Her sayings of how women should know and fight for their rights and also of how each and every human shouldn't give up, follow their passion, learn to accept their mistakes and also be a good listener to the criticisms helps in self development.
Overall, I think this book deserves a 5 star and I recommend everyone to read it, get motivated and inspired by it and implement some things in their life to make it a better one.
Past is past, the present is where we have to do something right so that it frames our future in the best way possible!

"Boss Lady," written by Smita Shetty, is a book that is based on women's empowerment. In our country, the people preach a lot but never practice what they preach, and they're a lot of things in which preachers preach, but nothing comes into reality, and women empowerment is such a thing. This is a short read on women's empowerment and about the rights of women.

This book has explained the problems that women go through in the corporate fields. It has also described the author's journey about her journey in the man world, which is full of politics. I liked how she told the struggles of women in this world, especially in corporate, but I didn't connect with the book because of the language. I felt that the language was very straightforward, which made me not connect with the book. But this book has some beautiful poems and good illustrations, which will make a good impact on the readers. I would certainly recommend this book for beginners but not for avid readers.

Some lines are sensitive, Explained wisely by Author. Book relates all the issues, a women face in every click of life. Words used here are simple, genric and close to heart. I would not say it’s an women empowerment but a myth buster. There are crores of holes In our society but we are failing as society. This book is a great initative to upbring the lost slogan. Author has systematically planned and narrated the issues over-ruling our society. A must read book for every human out here.
