The Bolds Go Green

Rate this book
Give a hoot and don't pollute! The Bolds have decided to do their bit for the planet and go green. They're reducing, reusing and recycling as much as they can. Not all of their eco-friendly ideas are welcome, though - especially when it comes to 'watering' the neighbours' front garden with wee . . . An eventful trip to the charity shop leads to a new rescue adventure for the Bold family, and an old friend returns with an unexpected list of demands. Can the Bolds keep their cool as temperatures rise?

The Bolds! They are aren’t people but hyenas from Africa who is living disguised as humans in a very pleasant house in Teddington.

During the last day of school break, the twins; Bobby and Betty and her friend, Minnie got some important task that need to be Green Monitors for the whole school next term. (Need to do an eco-friendly environment like reducing, reusing and recycling)

They will make sure that no one can thrown rubbish on the floor, left taps dripping or lights on when leave a room. If they find anyone doing anything wrong, they will be forced to arrest them.

The Bolds have helped lots of animals ove the years. Their door is always open to waifs and strays and word of their kindness has spread far and wide across the animal kingdom!

Reflections and lessons learned:
“You must never tell anyone your birthday wish, but I know that the twins wished for everyone’s birthday to be as happy as theirs. And for the earth to heal and be well again…”

Still a lovely story, filled with some wonderfully cheesy puns, but did this one have too many characters? A series that I’m going to encourage both of my children to keep up to date with, as shall I bring so too with any future releases

We love The Bolds and so we were very excited to be approved to read 'The Bolds Go Green' on NetGalley.
The Bolds are hyenas that flew over to England (in book one) and are now living in a residential street. They wear clothes and pretend to be human! The two young hyenas Bettie and Bobby are at primary school and the Bolds both have jobs.

This hilarious story starts with Bettie and Bobby (the young hyenas) becoming the school 'green monitors' This encourages the Bolds to start becoming more eco friendly. They start recycling clothes, give up meat and make an eco den. Obviously being the Bolds some of their ideas are not welcome by the neighbours! My daughter's favourite part was when all of the charity shop clothes blew away and lots of the passers by ended up wearing them. Very funny! There's a new rescue in this story and an old friend pays them a visit.

The illustrations, as always, are fab and add to the humour of the story. My daughter laughed out loud all the way throuh this book. Another great read! We're looking forward to the next one!

Thank you NetGalley and Andersen Press for this ecopy.

Mér finnst sagan algert bull og mér leiðast sögur sem vita ekkert hvernig þær ætla að vera en fullt af fallegum íslenskum orðum sem fara vel í munni. Vel gert, þýðandi!
