Everything is going great in Magnolia Cove. Well, almost great. There's a new sheriff in town and he's more like a pirate than a law enforcement agent. He's made it known that if folks don't do as he says, well, they're going to jail.
Nobody likes that. Not one bit.
So when a mysterious stag appears in Magnolia Cove, everyone is interested. Some only want to see the stag. Others want it for a trophy on their wall. All Pepper Reign wants to do is protect it, but not everyone feels the same way. With hunters, poachers, and animal right's activists all vying for the stag's being, it's no surprise that someone winds up dead.
And the new Sheriff Pirate is convinced that everyone is a suspect, but he particularly doesn't like Pepper.
To keep him off her tail, Pepper will have to go door-to-door to find the killer, all while managing her teething baby and attempting to keep Grandma Betty in line. Goodness knows, that's impossible.
But can Pepper do it? Or will this new Sheriff Pirate haul her into jail?
Hey, I’m Amy, I write books for folks who crave laugh-out-loud paranormal mysteries. I help bring humor into readers’ lives. I’ve got a Pharm D in pharmacy, a BA in Creative Writing and a Masters in Life. And when I’m not writing or chasing around two small children (one of which is four going on thirteen), I can be found antique shopping for a great deal, getting my roots touched up (because that’s an every four week job) and figuring out when I can get back to Disney World. If you’re dying to know more about my wacky life, here are three things you don’t know about me. —In college I spent a semester at Marvel Comics working in the X-Men office. —I worked at Carnegie Hall. —I grew up in a barbecue restaurant—literally. My parents owned one. If you want to reach out to me—and I love to hear from readers—you can email me at amyboylesauthor@gmail.com. Happy reading!
This author has such imagination, and the storyline showcases it! I enjoy this series and the characters so, despite the rather clichéd and surprisingly moralistic bent for a paracozy, I accorded this story four stars. I'm trusting there will be a return to the charm and humor this series has been notable for.
Pepper, Axel, Betty, the cousins, and the entire crew are back. There is a red stag in the area and lots of people are fighting over trying to kill it. Somehow this leads to a murder and Pepper is the one that discovers the body putting her right in the thick of things. Mullins Rob, being the new sheriff in town, doesn't really know how to take Pepper, her meddling and her uncanny ability of finding herself right in the middle of trouble all the time. Can they all come together to solve the murder, save the town and just get along with each other? All the usual characters are back in this book, plus we get to see how the baby is growing and becoming more a part of everyone and everything. Shoo is full of surprises and Mullins Rob finally shows a little heart after he and Pepper have a serious discussion. I loved this book, I enjoy checking in with Magnolia Cove and finding out what is going with everyone. I highly recommend this book, series and inkslinger. I fully intend to continue reading this series and all the others she writes, I only wish they could be written as fast as I can read them.
A new sheriff, a red stag, and murder; we must be in Magnolia Cove! This book was written like a true whodunit and I loved every second of it! We also learn the legend of The Red Stag, one of my favorite details about these books Is that there are such wonderful gems used from legend and witchcraft mysticism. Sheriff Garrick has been replaced in Magnolia Cove with a brand new type of Sheriff. This man has rough edges, missing limbs, and a very bad attitude; but I think our favorite Sweet Tea Witch can crack his hard exterior. One of the local poachers is found murdered, but we know no one is getting away with a murder in Magnolia Cove. Shoo and Betty get into a ton of drama trying to help Pepper sell her overflow of exploding mini cauldrons. This book was so much fun and a nice bridging book in the series. I felt like this book showed us how our characters really interact with each other. We also get to see the highs and lows between Pepper and Axel, it makes their relationship so much more real and relatable. I can’t wait for book 22 because I heard a rumor we will be in a Christmas filled paradise of Magnolia Cove.
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. I find cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Pepper rain is a witch and a small southern SuperNatural town. She lives there with her husband her baby and the rest of her witch family. The town is full of supernatural‘s mostly witches and werewolves but a few others as well. Pepper owns a familiar shop and somehow gets drawn into issues going on around town on the way or the other. Either she does or her husband does. The whole family is drawn into any drama because the family is one of the founding families of the town. They help the local law-enforcement Find clues and solve mysteries when they can. Other supernatural issues going on nisi Asher teeth of pepper because she is a head witch and is more powerful than some. Read on the sea where peppers adventures take her this time.
I love these Sweet Tea Witch mysteries. Axel and Pepper are great characters as are Betty Craple and Cordelia and Amelia. There are newer side characters like Shoo and the new sheriff. This particular book was funny at times and of course involved a murder setting up the "who done it" scenario. Pepper gets into as much trouble as ever and Axel is the perfect husband. This was a quick read and I was entertained. I enjoyed it.
You may wonder what I mean in the title above, but first I want to say this entire series is wonderful. It's not just a witchy murder mystery , it's a story made up of people that are different in so many ways. We've all heard the saying about not judging a book by it's cover, well that goes for people too. Amy has written her stories that keep you in suspense to the very end. Can't wait to read her other series of books.
Southern Cauldron (Sweet Tea Witch Mysteries) book #21
Book 21 is like the others in that the Southern dialect & expressions are spot on! I laughed out loud so many times that my husband kept asking me what was so funny. Naturally I couldn't tell him. It is one of those, "you just had to be there" situations. I'll miss Garrett, but maybe he will turn up when we least expect him later, another time or place. Great book, great series, great characters. Easy to recommend!!😍
At some point this got to stop feeling as if she running around like a headless chicken. Its not that different from the rest cause its just a different mystery but everything the same, the running around, miss use of magic and even get the wrong person until the end.
Southern Cauldron (Sweet Tea Witch Mysteries book 21
This was another winner. This Author Amy Bottles sure has a great imagination. I love this series and I love her characters. I highly recommend all her books and different series. I can't wait to order book 22 and start it tomorrow. Love Diana Romano
Every one of this series of books have grammatical errors in them. Is this book, I found 12.. Some sentences had words left out, words were misspelled. These frequent mistakes are very distracting from the book. Please be more careful.
Another great Sweet Tea Witch mystery!I finished book 21 and will start on book 22.These mysteries are fantastic! I recommend reading them if you like mysteries that end with happiness.Pepper,Axel,Betty,Cordelia,Amelia,Sassy and the rest of the town will pull you in.So Njoy the stories.By the time you finish, you’ll feel part of the family and town.
I can always count on this series for an easy and fun reading break, and with Halloween this past weekend, I thought it would be perfect to read the newest. Nope. This was my least favorite out of the entire series. I couldn’t wait for it to be over.
Pepper learns more about the new sheriff and Shoo.. She accidentally orders a bunch of exploding cauldrons and Betty and Shoo decided to help her get rid of them. I loved this book and can't wait to read the rest of this series.
A magical stag that helped them put out the fire that was going to burn there town. Could be taken fro a true story wit the fires that happened near Lake Tahoe.
This is a well written and developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
