SNOWBOUND AMISH SURVIVAL by Mary Alford is the wonderfully crafted, can’t put down, suspense filled story of Hope Christner and Hunter Shetler.

Hope’s life isn’t what she had pictured it to be. After a dispute between old friends – Abe, her father, and Levi, Hunter’s father - caused a split between families and eventually Hope and the man she had always envisioned being married to, her life now was divided between taking care of her widowed and ailing father and her job as a midwife, which she loved. He heart still ached when she thought of what might have been.

While tending to Naomi Hartzler, pregnant and close to her due date after having four miscarriages, and reassuring both Naomi and Conrad, her husband, that this was a false alarm and that everything was ok, they are all startled to have the home invaded by men armed with guns demanding to know where the midwife was who they said knew where Penny was. While Conrad took the blunt of the attack, Hope was barely able to escape with Naomi out into the snow storm. But where could they go for help? Can they evade these bad men? Can they survive the winter storm to enable them to get there safely and to call the authorities? Hope didn’t know the connection between these men and Penny, but she knew Penny and her newborn, who she had just delivered, were in grave danger if they found her. Would they be able to get to Penny before harm came to her or her baby?

Awoken from a bad dream, Hunter was shocked to find Hope and Naomi on this doorsteps – especially out in this horrible storm in the middle of the night. After hearing their story and fearing for Conrad, his best friend, he knows he will do everything and anything to protect Hope, regardless of their past history, and Naomi and to get help to Conrad. When the bad men ended up at Hunter’s house and Hunger shot one of the men, they were able to escape into the woods. It was the start of a night of trying to survive the snow storm, while trying to stay two steps ahead of the men determined to find them. Unfortunately, they find at each step more adverse conditions and stumbling blocks. On top of that, the storm’s snow was deep, the wind was strong and they were constantly in almost white out conditions. The storm also knocked out the phone lines making the phone shanty unusable. Even cell phones were useless.

Can they help Conrad? How did they know where Hope was to start with? Her father is the only one that knew where she was. Did they harm him? With his past strokes and medical issues was he ok? How will they get to Penny? Will they finally find out why these men are out to get her? Will Naomi be able to protect her baby and finally be able to hold a baby in her arms? Will the trials of this suspenseful night bring to light the love that still lingers in two young people’s heart? Will it open the eyes of an old man about forgiveness?

SNOWBOUND AMSH SNOWBOUND is a book that once you start reading you won’t want to put down. The suspense grabs you from the very beginning and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. Mary Alford weaves an amazing thread of faith through the entire story making your heart ache for a couple that was meant to be together and a hope that there may be a happily ever after for them yet. There is also the love and dedication to family, the determination of a faithful and loving couple to bring new life into the world and the fact that you’re never too old to admit your wrongs and work to correct them. Highly recommend this book and this author! I can’t wait for the opportunity to read another book by Mary Alford. FIVE STARS!

This book is so full of suspense. It totally leaves you on the edge of your seat as it tells its tale. It is so riveting! Hope and Naomi find themselves in danger and that danger is relentless on finding her. There seems to be no escaping the attackers and no safe place to run to.
Wow, this book took my breath away. It's an absolute page turner, and you won't be able to turn the pages fast enough to see what happens next.

I love a real mystery and suspense and with a little bit of romance edging its way into the situation.

This is a book that doesn't disappoint and never has a dull moment. I highly recommend it!

I received an ebook copy of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own.

Will the storm get them before the killers do?

Which one is more dangerous, mountainous roads in a blizzard or a psychopathic killer and his equally murderous henchman? Well, why not both at the same time! That's exactly what author Mary Alford delivers in her latest Amish Love Inspired Suspense novel set in the West Kootenai Amish community in Montana. On top of the murder and mayhem is a second chance romance between to two people who let the assumptions and bitterness of others tear them apart.

Snowbound Amish Survival is the perfect title for this book and completely sums up the story in three chilling words. It was an enjoyable read and kept me turning the pages to see how bad things could possibly get for our brave characters the cavalry, or rather police, could drive in to the rescue. I liked the story, though, FYI, bur oaks do not grow in West Kootenai, and enjoyed every bit of the unrelenting danger and taut suspense.

One of my favorite aspects of the story was that both hero and heroine are active Amish. The contrast between the Amish belief in non-violence and the characters' inborn desire to protect the innocent and defenseless helped make the story all the more suspenseful.

If you are up for a freezing adventure in the mountains of Amish country do check out Mary Alford's wintry Love Inspired Suspense novel entitled Snowbound Amish Survival...

Snowbound Amish Survival was non-stop action and adventure from the very first page. I really felt for this group of people who worked so hard to stay one step ahead of the bad guys. And these bad guys were ruthless. I kept wondering what in the world was motivating them to not give up on catching the group.

I really enjoyed the fact that Hope and Hunter were thrown together in this scenario and had to trust each other and work together to survive. They had broken each others’ hearts five years earlier, but it was clear that they both still loved each other.

I have read other books set in this community, yet this book stands alone and does not rely on someone having read any of the other books.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This book was very similar to the storyline and the characters to her previous book the Dangerous Amish Showdown. I think I would have enjoyed this more if I hadn’t just read her other book. But because of the similarities it was very predictable.

Snowbound Amish Survival
By Mary Alford

Hope Christner never thought she'd be running to Hunter Shetler for help, not after the conflict that tore them apart. But when armed men come looking for her she does the only thing she can to save the life of her patient.

But the men looking for her aren't easily dissuaded and will go to any measure to find her to get what they want. Murder, beatings, kidnappings - nothing will stop them not even a blizzard.

This is a story of survival and hope in the face of unspeakable terror. It is also a story of potential second chances. Hope and Hunter allowed a misunderstanding and false accusations between their families to drive a wedge between them. Loyalty to family hurt the other, breaking their love. Or did it?

Hope's seeking out Hunter in the face of danger says something but has too much time passed? And how does one decide where loyalty lies? Does it lie with the family one was born into? Or does it lie with the one who holds your heart?

This book is perfect for February and the upcoming Valentine's holiday. Happy endings aren't always a guarantee but with Love Inspired Suspense you are guaranteed a satisfying ending though the path from beginning to end is fraught with dangers, bumps, and wrong turns.

I was provided a complimentary copy of the book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Mary Alford is one of my favorite Love Inspired Suspense Authors. I have read her last several releases. There are several things that you will get when you read one of her books. You will be drawn in within the first few books, you will have heart pounding suspense and action throughout the whole book and there will be a message of faith throughout the whole book.

In Snowbound Amish Survival, it opens with Hope helping one of her clients who is nervous about having her first baby. Suddenly everything changes when armed men burst through the door looking for Hope. Naomi and Hope are suddenly running for their lives through the snow and blizzard and end up on Hope's former fiancé's doorstep. Hunter and Hope have been apart for awhile, but Hunter knows that he needs to do whatever he can to keep Hope and Naomi safe.

Why do these men want an Amish Midwife? They are looking for someone that Hope had previously helped. Hunter and Hope both are broken 5 years later after their break up. They have to work together to keep everyone safe and alive. The author has thrown in some good twists in the book and it left me guessing.

As always the author has created well written characters. The storyline is suspenseful. This is part of the series that follows this Amish community - however they can all be read as a stand alones. A special thanks to the author and JustRead Publicity Tours for allowing me to read a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Amish Fiction is my Favorite Genre of books. I discovered Amish Suspense Fiction a couple years ago and I really like it also. Snowbound Amish Survival by Mary Alford is the latest book in the Suspense genre that I have read.

Wow, this book is a definite page turner. I was captivated by the storyline from the very first page. Hope is a midwife and is helping her pregnant friend Naomi. Hope is being sought after by some bad guys, who find her at Naomi's house. They break in and the ladies feel they are in danger. Hope's ex boyfriend, Hunter, comes to help them. All of this action is taking place in while a Snowstorm rages on outside.

I really enjoyed this story. Hope is a strong woman who wants to help others. She realizes that she is in need of help and when Hunter comes to rescue them, she decides to put the past in the past and allow him to help. Hope and Hunter realize they still have feelings for each other, even though 5yrs have passed since they broke up. I also really love how Action packed the story is. I was on the edge of my chair while reading this book. It is not a "predictable" storyline and I like that. I highly recommend this book for anyone who LOVES Amish Fiction, Romance, and Action. GREAT BOOK!

I read the other books by Mary Alford set in West Kootenai about Hunter's brothers. One thing about this type of series is that while it's nice to see familiar characters, it does seem a little less than realistic that all of the four brothers would be involved in some sort of life and death situation that brought them to their "happily ever after". The book was a quick read and had a lot of action and suspense. Them fleeing through a blizzard was a unique story plot idea. I did wonder why the Amish people kept driving the cars once they had "Englischer" people (especially when the car belonged to said Englischer.) There was character growth and a faith thread.

I got a free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and given voluntarily. No compensation was received for my review.

Snowbound Amish Survival by Mary Alford
She’s caught in a snowstorm…
with a target on her back.
When armed men burst into her patient’s house looking for her, Amish midwife Hope Christner barely escapes with her pregnant friend. Now running through a snowy forest with enemies in pursuit and a blizzard raging, Hope has no choice but to turn to the closest neighbor, her ex-fiancé, Hunter Shetler. But facing the heartbreak of their past is just as frightening as the attackers on her trail…
This is Hope Christner and Hunter Shetler's story.
Outside, the wind howled around the corner of the house with enough fury to shake windows. The blizzard had continued to grow in strength with nightfall. It sounded like a wild animal raging.
“It’s getting worse by the minute.” Midwife Hope Christner did her best to pull her focus from the distraction. Her expectant mother patient and gut friend, Naomi Hartzler, was nervous enough without the added stress of the storm. Naomi needed her full attention. Gott would take care of the weather.
“Try to relax. I’m almost done.” Hope patted her friend’s arm. Naomi had been on edge since her pregnancy began—and with gut reason. This was Naomi’s fourth pregnancy. The first three had ended in miscarriages.
Hope finished her exam and came to the same conclusion she’d had when she’d arrived at the home. “I’m afraid it’s another false alarm,” she said as gently as possible. The second one in as many days.
She was about to ask Conrad what had happened when an angry voice Hope didn’t recognize yelled, “Where’s the midwife? I know she’s here.”
Going to Hunter for help was something Hope could not have imagined until now. But she and Naomi were all out of options. There was no other choice. She’d do whatever necessary to save her friend. Even if it meant reaching out to the man who’d broken her heart.
Something banged against the front of the house loud enough to wake Hunter Shetler from a troubled sleep.
He forced out a breath, while his sleep-filled eyes darted around the room lit only by the fire glow and a lantern that was ready to burn out.
Had the sound been part of his dreams, like the gunshot he’d thought he’d heard earlier?
Another series of knocks—coming from the door—confirmed this wasn’t a dream. Someone was outside. A second later, a familiar female voice jumped out to him from the past, chased by the same hurt he experienced every time he thought about her.
I recommend reading.
Snowbound Amish Survival by Mary Alford is a wonderful well written 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Mary Alford.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Snowbound Amish Survival. I'm a big fan of Mary's work. I really like Amish stories and I really like suspense so her work is a good fit for me. This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of suspense. I know you are going to love it.

Hope Christner is an Amish midwife. She is called to a friend's house but it is a false alarm. It's storming and the husband had a hard time getting Hope to their home. They decide it would be better for Hope to spend the night. A man breaks into the house looking for the midwife. They argue. The women hear a struggle and then a gunshot. Both women take off into the storm. Hope has no choice but to seek help from her ex-fiance.

Hunter Shetler had loved Hope and planned to marry her but because of a misunderstanding years ago, she had left him and taken her father's side. Now she is here seeking help. He will do everything he can to protect the two women. He must keep them safe even as armed men threaten them.

A terrifying journey through a blizzard with armed men following them at every turn. God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too; a good plan for peace and not for destruction even in this chaos.

Snowbound Amish Survival is a very riviting story written by Mary Alford. The characters in this story really bring it to life. With this story taking place during a blizzard the author does an amazing job making her readers feel the conditions throughout the story. This story is filled with the mystery as to the reason bad men are wanting to get their hands on Amish midwife Hope Christner. When forced to run with one of her pregnant patients Hope turns to the only person close by, her ex-fiance, Hunter Shetler. This brings the story to a whole new level and really keeps the readers interest. This story is filled with intrigue, drama, dangerous encounters, and forgiveness. The author has once again delivered an amazing story for her readers enjoyment.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

This story had me glued to it's pages. I've read Amish stories but not too many Amish suspense. And boy this story kept to it's genre of Suspense.

When Hope is taken by surprise by evil armed men, her last thought was the her ex fiance Hunter would be the one helping her and her friends outrun them. Is page by page that Author Mary Alford has you engulfed in this action packed, and surprises at each turn. You'll run through tress and drive on hills, cliffs through a freezing blizzard.

When unsure of what they are running from to what they are running to, their friendship, hope and Faith is what will save them. While they save a young mother and her baby son and themselves from past hurt, past mistakes. And at the end, the Faith in God conquers the hearts of those who truly love.

This is a different kind of story, but I enjoyed it.

Snowbound Amish Survival is a fast-paced suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat all the way through the book! Hope and Hunter are great as the hero and heroine of the story. Neither of them will give up, even when it looks like they can’t escape the men who are looking for an Englischer who returned to the West Kootenai community after the men killed her husband.

To escape the men, Hope has to drive a car, something she’s never done before. Not only that, she has to deal with her feelings for Hunter as he protects them. The two were supposed to have been married years ago, but Hope’s dad accused Hunter’s family of stealing timber from him. When Hope took her dad’s side, it destroyed their plans. And now they’re on the run from the men in the middle of a terrific blizzard.

This is a book I believe suspense readers will love. I couldn’t put the book down, and it kept me up until past midnight with me saying Just one more chapter…

Hope and Hunter are gentle Amish people with a broken relationship. When Hope is on the run from some killers she ends up seeking out Hunter. Her job as a midwife and a delivery she did are what the killers want to know about. But not only is Hope on the run but also her pregnant friend. The danger is getting closer and the are trying to make it to safety. When it seems they are so close to safety they somehow get found again by the killers. In a cold, snowy storm there is more than one danger and Hunter will fight to save them. Maybe once they are safe he and Penny can fight for their broken relationship. This is a fast moving suspense story, it certainly kept me entertained.

4.5 out of 5 stars for this gripping suspense! You know when you pick up a Mary Alford book that the suspense will be fast and furious through the whole story.
Hope is an Amish midwife who is helping her friend Naomi when terrible men break into Naomi's house looking for Hope. From there they go on a wild journey through winter storms to get themselves and those they care about to safety with the help of Naomi's ex-fiance, Hunter.
I subtracted half a star because I found some of the situations extreme and hard to believe would actually happen in real life.

This book has lots of action every time you turn around. Hope and Hunter get thrown back together after having been pulled apart years earlier. Hunter must help Hope and Naomi run from thugs that are looking for someone that Hope had earlier helped. There is some romance and lots of snow, action and crashes. This will keep you on your toes. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

This is a suspenseful, quick read in the Love Inspired Series. The author didn't give the characters time to rest as they tried to flee from some bad men who wanted to hurt them. The snowstorm they had to contend with in the mountains of Montana didn't help them either. I enjoyed watching the main characters outwit the bad guys.

From the first page there was suspense that continued to book. Danger held on as strongly as the blizzard. Sometimes through unbelievable circumstances that appeared to you.
In the midst of all the trouble a miracle of love is ignited. Will it be able to sustain through the day.

Set in the mountains of Montana, an Amish midwife suddenly finds herself and her patient fleeing for their lives and don't even know why. Other characters are called upon to aid in the struggle for survival. A very fsst read that is somewhat predictable but keeps one interested throughout.

The action begins almost immediately and the suspense doesn't let up. The antagonists are determined and will stop at nothing to get what they're after. The hero and heroine are honorable and admirable as they struggle to keep the people that have been entrusted to them safe.
