Resistance to Magic:
The amulet Sariah found buried in the mines looked liked her ticket out of her half-starved backwater life. The pendant was surely very valuable.
The assassin who tried to steal it apparently agreed.
Now all she wants is revenge. Or at least justice.
With a little help from a friendly mystic she learns about magic. Only with its help does she stand a chance to vanquish the forces that destroyed her life.
She hates magic.
But will her thirst for vengeance drive her into magic’s open arms?

Hey all! I'm a fantasy author with a love of all things Disney, Star Wars, magic, and dragons.
My life-long love affair with books started at the tender age of four, soon moving on from Mr. Man books (remember those?) to more traditional fantasy by authors like Terry Brooks and Tolkien.
An off the wall writing prompt in the third grade about Sir Lancelot fighting a dragon and falling off a cliff vaulted me into writing, and I've since created many a wondrous world (including a series of short stories about Sir Lancelot I hope to re-create one of these days).
I live in the Pacific Northwest with my wife and four children, and I strive to keep the magic alive with them each and every day.
Once again another heroin rises in a well-crafted story
Peter,. Knowing that you read many of these first thank you for writing this putting your heart and time into assembling a story that was thoroughly enjoyable and engrossing to read. As many series within this universe I started it because I hit the end of another and I had purchased the box set and I have to tell you your writing is good enough I would have bought each individual book at full boat price but thank you for offering up this box set. The different love interests the battles the personal struggles and overcoming the obstacles all were put together in a fashion that was as good as any other I've read it was very good to someone reading this that hasn't read the series while it may be set in a universe that other books are tied to it is good enough to stand on its own and just start with book one and read through it and maybe it will do for you what the rise of magic series did which is where I started in this universe and now I've read easily 50 plus books by different authors with different styles all tied together with a similar backstory. The ending was tied up nicely so going into any more storyline with the characters would be a lot of fun because it would be new and not just a continuation where it left off. Again Peter thanks for the writing and to Michael thank you for collaborating with him to have this be another gym in my collection of books in this universe
I read the entire box set of The Sariah Chronicles. I enjoyed all of the books. They were well written and quite entertaining. I must say that I found the main character, Sariah, annoying. I guess she is a typical teenager. She is a loud mouthed, know it all who gets things done. Mostly by luck and with the help of some great friends. Well worth the read. I'd like to see this storyline continued.
A basic storyline. Quite run of the mill. But it kept me wanting to read. Downsides stunted speech, use of the same descriptive words in same paragraph or on a too regular basis ( sorry one of my pet hates). The turning of Gabe didnt make sense, nor did the way that Sariah made friends with Valerie. Good points, I really liked the main characters, good pace.
I really wanted to like this book. The story tells of a young lady, Sariah, whose world is turned upside down when she happens across a relic in the mine she works in. This leads to a series of tragedies and other misfortune which she has to overcome. She also has to cope with her own conflicting feelings about magic.
My biggest issue with these stories is, every character is a smartass. Good guys, bad guys, even the animals seem to be smartasses. The dialogue is unbearable at times.
The story itself is decent but i was just to turned off by the dialogue and characters to really get into it.
Currently I'm reading another series which involves one of the co-authors of this book. It has the same issues but is more tolerable.
I'm sure there is an audience for these types of stories though, so I'll wish the authors all the best. But do consider giving your characters more depth and distinguishing features. Not everyone has to be funny.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Sariah makes a great realistic heroine as she learns to trust magic and embrace her exceptional magic skills until she’s able to fight real well. The suspense was intense.
At first, because of the age and behavior of the two main characters, I thought I started a series for children. I hate to quit something once I start so I read on. It turned into a pretty good adventure.
I really enjoyed this series. It was really good to read.Hopefully there will be more Sariah books featuring Bear and their futures with the Dust Ravens .
What a load of crap! This story has potential, but lacks perspective. I wanted to finish it but was so appalled but the lack of depth, I simply could not.
