Finally a textbook about Android programming in Java which really gives detailed explanations and introduces the Android API terminology in an approachable way. Besides, a good introduction in Java. However, some chapters in the second part of the book don't explain new code with the same level of detail as the chapters in first part. Also, I recommend the publisher to do another reading pass to correct some typos and mismatches between the text and the presented code.

That being said, this is definitely the best introductory book I have read so far about Android Programming in Java. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to start with Android app development in Java.
