It was lucky chance that I read this book after reading High Stakes- but that is the absolute correct reading order, as this book picks up a few months after that one... I think? It seems like a few months, it's definitely AFTER .

I see little reason why these two books couldn't have been one. In fact, this book delivered a lot of what I was looking for in the last book. I see more character development and a better grasp of the paranormal world. I think I would have enjoyed the two books combined with a little more world and character development added in - that would have made one very solid 4-5 star book.

There's something mildly ironically humorous about both books, which is a kind of humor I tend to enjoy. The fashion scene makes me laugh and at the same time I enjoy it... if that makes any sense. It's just dumb and fantastic all at once.

I once again really enjoyed Arika Rapson's narration - I think she delivers the characters personalities well. I really would enjoy a full length novel in this world and hope to find one!
