Voxeran Fated Mates #7

Her Alien Rebel

Rate this book
Ren has to be the grumpiest Voxeran in the universe. So why does his touch light me on fire?

With the arrival of a ship from Vox, we’ll finally have a chance to escape Nuthora. Unfortunately, the blue-skinned alien rebel who comes to rescue us is the most frustrating man I’ve ever met.

From our very first meeting when he pulls a knife on me, to the pointed barbs we trade back and forth, I think it’s safe to say we don’t like each other very much.

But that doesn’t explain why he suddenly kisses me in the middle of an argument… or why I kiss him back.

It doesn’t matter, though. There’s no time to try to untangle the confusing mess of emotions he elicits in me. With the freedom of our people on the line, we have to put aside our differences and work together.

Getting off Nuthora means undertaking a dangerous mission, and it will require all of our wits and skills to pull it off. I’ll have to rely on Ren, and he’ll have to rely on me.

As long as we don’t kill each other first…

Her Alien Rebel is a full-length standalone sci-fi romance featuring blue-skinned alien warriors, a headstrong heroine determined to prove herself, and a gruff rebel warrior who doesn't think he needs a mate.

If you like sexy aliens, steamy romance, and thrilling adventure, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!

Note: each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be read in order.

I love reading romance, baking (well... eating) cookies, and binge-watching sci fi shows with my husband. I'm a sucker for a dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold, and I write stories about fierce aliens and the strong Earth women they fall in love with.

Scarred Hero!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🤎🖤❤️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😍😚😉🙂
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Felicity - She is a human woman who was abducted by aliens after her government traded her and other women for alien technology. When her spaceship crashed on Nuthora, the alien prison planet, the women were saved and protected by a race of alien called the Voxeran. Felicity was a gambling addict back on Earth, and is an independent female.

The Hero: Ren - He is a Voxeran warrior who was injured and nearly dead under a pile of rubble when the rebellion first occurred on Vox and was thwarted when Prince Droth’s own brother told his uncle, the usurper king about their plans. Most of the rebels were banished to the prison planet Nuthora, but Ren was not. He and some others continue the rebellion on Vox until getting a communication from Nuthora, so Ren stole a ship and came to Nuthora to rescue the Voxerans.

The Story: When Ren first lands on Nuthora and is searching for the Voxeran males, he comes across Felicity. He takes her hostage and demands she point him to his people. Things go downhill from there. Neither of them can stop thinking about the other, but every time they come near each other, they trade barbs and are not friendly.

I like that each book in this series has a different journey that the two main characters go on. I thought this one would be a bit different than it was, since Ren came to rescue them from the prison planet, but the journey up the mountain to disable the surveillance system was interesting. Just not quite as interesting as the last few books.

Also, it really bothers me that in every series of alien romance, there always has to be one where one of the main characters (usually the man) has some hideous scars on his face. I don’t know why romance authors love that so much, but I don’t like it. Why do they have to destroy a perfect male face? Is it to show the female isn’t interested in looks? I just don’t get it.

This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by C.J. Grey and Stefanie Kay. These two narrated the last book and both are very good and age appropriate for the characters. So far this series has had terrific narration on all the books.

Presley Hall continues to be incredibly talented at writing sex. Are there other things about this book worth mentioning? Of course! But really, I'm not kidding when I say the sex scenes are amazing.

Omg! This one was crazy! Such an intense push in the overall plot of this series. This book leads us closer to the next chapter of reviving the rebellion back on Vox. Can they make it there, or no? Will they finally be able to leave Nuthora and claim what is rightfully theirs back on their home planet Vox? And now with the Terran(Human females) as back up and a new hope?...

This 7th installment was great! And hilarious at times too. But sexy as always. Sweet, intense, scary, all of it... I really liked this one.

Ren is a refreshing take on the Warrior spirit in comparison to the others we've met thus far. He's older, has some salt 🧂 in his black pepper hair😜, sexy. Has me blushing 😊 And is a Warrior through and through. He was not banished with the others, he is aiding in their escape. He's new to this prison world they've been on for 5 yrs & he's caught off guard by the human women under the protection of his brothers... Ren is fire and determination all in one. And he and Felicity compliment one another awesomely. She is his match in every way. 😍

I would recommend this series. Please read in order. All are on KU.

On to the final book. Book 8.

Overview: Another cracky good SFR series, it seems to contain the Presley Hall formula - huge, protective heroes who love wearing loincloths and nothing else. The Voxerans were banished to a prison planet called Nuthora and have lived there for 5 years when they see a spaceship crash and, thinking that they can salvage the ship for parts, head towards one of the crash sites. Unbeknownst to them, two human women have just found out that their world leaders basically sold them off to alien warlords as sex slaves in return for alien tech. Fantastic. When the ship they're on accidentally crashes on Nuthora, they also found out that there's a whole bunch of other women on the ship with them. The fight for survival begins, but along the way, you guessed it, we got some fated mate situations happening.

All in all, I like this series alot more than the previous series I'd read by Ms. Hall, the Kalixian Warriors. The premise of being able to reject the mate bond is still in effect, but I think the storytelling here is better and there's much more character development on the way to that HEA. There's also a cohesive overarching storyline that snaps into place and keeps the reader turning that page to find out if they succeed in their plans. I liked alot more fo the books here. If you're into SFR where the romance is central, then I'd recommend this. Now onto the individual books:

Book 1: Her Alien Prince (Charlotte and Droth) - solid start to the series, romance was right blend of insta and built up love. May have issues for those who would struggle with married heroine. Husband basically helped her get on this flight/no love, and there's no way she's going back, so I'm counting that as his fault, it didn't bother me. 4 stars
Book 2: Her Alien Savior (Sadie and Jaro) - I liked the couple, no external complications, all character driven. Deals with anxiety issues and survivalist action. 4 stars.
Book 3: Her Alien Beast (Elizabeth and Axen) - tender, protective hero with pregnant heroine. Probably messiest of the books with a prickly heroine but I still enjoyed it. 4 stars
Book 4: Her Alien Warrior (Gemma and Kzuri) - MCs captured and sold into slavery, so a little darker but my main complaint is it slowed down in the middle but made up for it by the end. 3.5 stars
Book 5: Her Alien Rogue (Raina and Kaide) - I always love with the grump is the heroine and the sunshine is the hero, so this is probably my fave. The overarching storyline is really building now and while sex on the run can be tricky, this made it work. 4 stars
Book 6: Her Alien Protector (Willow and Bohrir) - Gentle giant of a hero, traumatized heroine. Probably the darkest of all the books, dealing with physical/mental abuse and slavery. The last few books lag a little in the middle but make up for it by the end. 4 stars

Book 7: Her Alien Rebel (Felicity and Ren) - enemies to lovers, with a gambling addicted heroine and a grumpy, work obsessed hero. I struggled a little more with this one, mostly because I didn't particularly care for either of them at first. The overarching storyline is what kept me hooked. 3 stars

With the communicator finally repaired, the Voxerans were able to reach out to a reliable ally on Vox, Ren, who had avoided capture and exile to Nuthora unlike the other rebels. He is their last hope for a permanent escape from the prison planet, and Ren is resolute in his mission to save them all. When he arrives aboard his stolen ship, he is unsure of what to expect, and his initial encounter with the human women, particularly Felicity, does not go smoothly. They clash immediately, both being stubborn and strong-willed. To leave the planet unnoticed, they must deactivate the signal atop the mountain. Ren volunteers for the task first, followed by Felicity, who is eager to prove her worth and show Ren that humans are both trustworthy and stronger than they appear.

This book was much shorter than the other ones, but I didn't mind at all. The plot was straight to the point and dynamic. It did what it had to do without making it unnecessarily long for the sake of more pages.

Felicity was a cool heroine. She was brave and I liked that she was a little bit sassy when speaking to Ren. I liked that she didn't let Ren dictate her around. She had a gambling addiction back on Earth so getting abducted and crashing on an alien planet is a little bit of a second chance for her. She'd always wanted to become a therapist but she the bad habit of spending her loans on gambling. Stranded on Nuthora, however, provided her with an opportunity to overcome her addiction and start anew.

“Should we show the sun and the sand and the wind how much we love each other?”-Ren

As for Ren, he was somewhat older than his fellow warriors, bearing a scar on his face and an overall rugged appearance. He was stoic, a bit grumpy, and intensely focused on his mission. The solitude of being on Vox while his friends were imprisoned on Nuthora was a torment for him, consuming his thoughts daily. Initially impatient, stubborn, and easily irked by Felicity's equally stubborn demeanor, Ren found his attitude shifting as he began to feel an unexpected attraction toward her.

Ren is hard-edged and gruff in an off-putting way, obviously irritatingly single-minded, and quick to jump to conclusions. In short, absolutely nothing that I find endearing about a person.-Felicity

Their first kiss had a touch of instalust, but the rest of their relationship developed at a more measured pace. I appreciated how they connected on many levels and genuinely understood each other. Overall, I don’t have many critiques; everything about this story was good enough.

Ahh so this was a pleasant book to read in the series. I will start by saying the spice scenes were HOT. The author can write spice very well.

The characters were interesting, and so were their backstories.

———————
“Sometimes people cling to things they shouldn’t, because it makes them feel fulfilled,”
———————

But there was a LOT of repetition in inner monologues. I had to skim past the 90% mark. Absolute filler. And usually I am one of those weirdos that kinda LIKES filler… but this was overly sappy filler.

I don’t mind lovey dovey stuff. That’s what romance is. But the extent that there was here was OTT. And it went around in circles.

I do like this series though, overall.

Buh bye Nuthora! Every book has led to this one and it’s very welcome. Major shift from this to the next. The adventure of this one was super fun. Like the background of Felicity and how she overcame it. Ren is a lovely hero. Good pair. Can’t wait for next one!

Another great addition to this series! A group of Voxerans and human women are stranded on the prison planet Nuthora. Having managed to create a communication device over the last books, here they are finally able to make contact with an ally, who sneaks a ship to them to rescue them. The planet however is being monitored and escaping won't be as easy as sneaking in. Will they be able to take down the surveillance system enough to escape the planet's atmosphere and safely make their way to the Voxerans' home planet Vox?

After six books, the chance to escape Nuthora is finally here. I was really excited for the group as it's what they've been working for for so long. Ren, who's come to rescue them, is a strong and fiercely loyal warrior. He doesn't easily trust the terran woman- and having seen his prince betrayed by his own family- it's understandable. He also has his insecurities due to the events that took place during the usurpation. Heroine Felicity is strong, determined, and stubborn. She's made mistakes in her past on Earth and is determined to be helpful to her people and the Voxerans in aiding their escape- and also for herself as a means of pushing past the things that held her back through her life. Felicity and Ren definitely had a rocky start. But their journey and mission together brought them closer and it was nice to see. Their comradery built their bond rather then a slow wooing and pining.

I really enjoyed this book and was excited to be in this stage of the overall story. Very well written and storyline flows smoothly. I definitely recommend it. 5 stars.

Love this series!

Another great addition to this series. Using the communicator they were able to piece together, the Voxerans on Nuthora have been able to contact the rebels that were left on their home planet, Vox. Ren has been sent to rescue Prince Droth and the rest of the crew and bring him home. But first, they must disable a communications tower so they can escape Nuthora undetected. Ren will lead this group and Felicity has volunteered. Ren is distrustful of the human women, and can hardly believe that some of his brother warriors have bonded with some of the Terrans. While Ren doesn’t want Felicity on the mission, he’s not really given a choice. Now he not only has to fight the terrain and deadly animals, he must also fight his feelings, because he’s pretty sure that Felicity is his mate.

Once again, we have a strong female lead that is well matched with a Voxeran warrior. Their dislike for each other at the beginning wasn’t exactly toxic, and it was very satisfying to see them both overcome their issues with each other and finally admit, and accept, their bond.

This entire series has been an enjoyable story to read. . . A wrongly deposed royal who had his birthright stolen by another family member. Stranded on a prison planet only to find females from earth who are also stranded. I have loved every story, every couple and the suspense of if they’re going to get off Nuthora and whether or not they’ll be successful in restoring the crown to Droth. If you like sci-fi romance books, I highly recommend this series.

Her Alien Rebel

This is the story of Felicity and Ren. If you’re following the story you know about the communication radio the Voxerans built so they could contact their home planet Vox. Ren is the warrior who accepted the call and is a member of the group trying to return their rule to Droth who had been banished to Nuthora. Ren ,who lives to serve Droth, flew a spaceship to Nuthora to rescue his prince. There, the first person he meets is Felicity. That first meeting did not go well. Strangely, they both feel an attraction to one another after just meeting. Ren thinks she’s all fluff and worst of all a woman. The other warriors waste no time in telling him that the earth women are smarter and tougher than they appear. When a mission is required to shut down a heavily armed and electrified facility Felicity volunteers along with other warriors and Ren. He thinks this is worst situation he can imagine. Through the course of the adventure they prove to each other that first impressions are not always correct. And… the story gets more interesting. There is a lot of action in the story as we see these two learning to respect the differences in each other. There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers. I don’t mind a few sexual scenes at all. But, toward the end it seemed as though the author was describing sex scene after sex scene to maybe increase their word count. If there are a lot of errors in this review please forgive me. It’s 2:20 am.

4&1\2 fabulous 🌟s!💖

This book is about acceptance. About making mistakes but learning from them and not being judged by them. This is about the healing power of love and how it can make a person stronger . Ren, is a rebel who was not caught and exiled when the first rebellion was crushed and Droth send to the prison planet. He has plenty of scars and a whole heap of survivors guilt. He takes on the rescue mission solo in case anything happens to him no one else will be put at risk. When he finds his Prince he also finds Felicity one of the human women under the Voxeran warriors protection. Sparks fly and tempers soar! Felicity even though she is there for all the other Earth women holds herself a bit away from the rest. She feels that if they new about her last and her gambling addiction they wou!d no longer like her. When she meets Ren they immediately clash and tempers flare. She thinks he's judgemental and he believes her weak and stubborn. Sent on A dangerous mission together to help them finally get off the prison planet opens both their eyes and their hearts. Acceptance is key and rings them both a love neither dreamed was possible. This book feels like the beginning to a second arc of the Voxeran warriors one that will prescribe fight for the Box homeworld!! Highly recommend!💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖

This is Ren and Felicity’s story from this Voxeran series. Ren answers the rescue call from Prince Droth. But, once Ren gets to the prison planet he and Felicity fet off on the wrong foot. They both say the wrong thing towards one another at first. But, in order to leave that planet and go back to Vox they must take down one of the guard station. Felicity volunteers to help Ren along with 3 other warriors. As they are off on their quest the group is seperated due to traps along the mountain side to detour aliens to go any further. Some are hurt and must go back. Leaving Ren and Felicity to continue. They are both fighting their attraction towards one another and yet getting to know one another as well. Why Ren didn’t get caught and being exiled to the prison planet. I loved their back and forth banter and how they worked together as a team to overcome the obstacles that arised. Omg finally after 5years these warriors can breathe a little easier with the their mates and future children. Lol waiting never felt so much better at this point.

Voxeran Ren arrives on a ship to try and return the exiled Voxerans and associated humans away from Nuthora and back to Vox. When he first arrived he pulled a knife on human Felicity not realising that she (and all the humans) are under the Prince's protection. After such a perfect start it is obvious that they don't like each other very much until during one argument he suddenly kisses her (and she kisses him back). In order to be able to take off and leave the prison planet a dangerous and difficult mission will need to be undertaken to disable a tower. Can Ren and Felicity work together in order to enable them all to leave the planet and travel back home?

I enjoyed this story once we got past Ren's irrational dislike of Felicity. It was interesting to read about all of the precautions around the tower and the way that they were finally able to work together as well as accept what was happening between them both. Easy to read and understand with lots of drama and danger in places. Contains explicit sexual content.

So I feel as though we are getting closer to the end of this series and this one book was excellent. So we have Ren who has been scarred and keeps to himself. He is also part of the resistance and when he is sent on a mission to retrieve Droth and his men he goes. No questions asked. So when he sneaks on a prison planet he does not expect to run into any females. Well he meets Felicity and we get some friction. Felicity has some secrets and she just wants to start her life over. She is ashamed of her past and trying to get on the right path. So what does she do? She volunteers to go on a mission with Ren and two other warriors. Now this is an important mission. The question is does she have something to prove. Now Ren is not sure about her and vice versa but you cannot deny the attraction. They are constantly are in danger during this mission but at the same time they get to know each other. Well you can figure out if they do get a happily ever after. However, I will say that at one point I was in tears so be prepared for that. This is another great story in the series.

At last escape is within the Voxeran's grasp

Ren is overjoyed to learn his exiled brothers are alive. He steals a ship to get them and spirit them back to Vox setting up Droth's return to his rightful place as king. He's shocked to find his brethren formed mate bonds with Terrans. His initial encounter with Felicity after landing on Nuthora leaves them both less than impressed. When she volunteers for a vital mission he reluctantly agrees. Forced to depend on each other, Ren comes to respect her tenacity and also realizes she is his mate. Now they are risking their lives not just for the future of their races but also their HEA. The frigid elements are no match for the heat they generate as they fight to complete their mission. Penultimate in the series, the exiled rebels and their Terran allies are on a collision course with those responsible for the Voxerans' banishment to the prison planet.

I enjoyed Felicity's story with Ren. We finally got to see a Voxeran that was from Vox and hear more about what has been going on at home while the group has been exiled. I liked that Ren was a bit of a grump and older and more experienced vs. someone young and brash. Felicity was also a great character but I wish I felt like I knew her better from previous stories. The idea of her addiction was interesting but I would have loved to have seen it play a more immediate role so it made her recovery more full circle. Either way this was a fun Presley Hall read with good romance and likable characters. I am very excited to see where the group goes now that they are back on Vox.

2.5 Voxeran Stars

So I'm at the point that I'm just kind of happy about the series ending.

Some of these books became my comfort reads, but others I won't read again. This one being added to the later list.

It wasn't a bad book by any means. I liked both characters and I think it could have been one of my favorite ones if there wasn't so much repetition under 200 pages. I found their inner monologues boring because of this. It was just getting tiresome at some point.

The subplot moves forward and after seven books, we're doing it. We're going to Vox, baby! Hopefully the series can fully exploit its potential and give us the well-deserved ending Voxerans and their mates deserve.

Humans are week and worthless...

They crash landed on a desert planet filled with killer flora and fauna, banished prisoners and criminals. This is where the
adventure begins and a love story starts. When a new warrior arrives in camp he's not sure what to make of the Human/Vox camp. Ren is a male that thinks the Vox are the only warriors in the camp. Ren views the humans as weak and worthless. Felicity takes up the challenge to prove him wrong and he's going to get a surprise. Of course where there is love there is sex in story. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

Ren and Felicity

The first time being betrayed by the earth government, crash landed on a prison planet helps the heroine in question. Felicity has seen several of her female human cohorts fall for the Voxeran males and become mates. She has issues from her past that don’t make her an open book. But instant awareness of Ren who comes to rescue them from Vox to the Druxian prison planet with a ship has her hackles rising. A trip up a mountain fuels their attraction and leads to escape. Love the series.

Ren and Felicity

When Ren and Felicity meet they don’t like each other. Ren has come to help rescue his prince and the rest of the men who were put on the prison planet, but he has doubts about the women from earth. He doesn’t trust them. He and Felicity butt heads, but are quickly thrown together on a rescue mission to get everyone off the planet. Working together as a team they learn to trust one another and develop a bond. I liked the characters, but I wasn’t enthralled with the storyline. Off to book 8 I go!

OMG I loved this book! I mean, I've loved ALL of the Voxeran Fated Mates books,  but this one is the best of them (so far). Ren and Felicity are awesome together. The book is action packed right from the start and continues to the end. The world building is outstanding as is the character development. The writing is clean and engrossing. But what you really need to know is you are going to love this book!

Vox is a solid possibility now that Droth has contacted Ren, one of his most loyal followers…and so the adventure begins. I love the way Hall’s books are always exciting and different. You never get bored with this series because it is constantly developing. This time we meet Ren, scarred loyalist of Droth. When Ren meets Felicity, the sparks fly. Excellent world building…storyline too! Download and enjoy this one readers. Be prepared to be surprised.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Finally the Voxeran Fated Mates series continues.
I really liked the story of Felicity and Ren. From the first moment the two met, sparks flew between them. I loved the back and forth banter - so much fun to read!
The chemistry at the first kiss in particular was extremely hot.
All in all a great book, like the others. I like Presley Hall's writing style, and I really enjoyed the main characters too. I was particularly fond of Ren, the somewhat older and grumpy warrior.

I didnt care for either of the mc's in the beginning.  Ren stuck a knife to Felicity.  Felicity said no one would want Ren bcuz he's old and scarred behind his back to the women which he ends up overhearing.  I just didnt feel the love between them. They hate each other and then suddenly they are making out. I felt nothing really led up to it - just the mate bond. They did learn and grow together - becoming better people. I just didnt connect with them

Ren is a scarred warrior left behind after a revolt gone wrong, trying to redeem himself he leaves Vox to to rescue his imprisoned friends. Felicity was stranded with fellow woman on a prison planet after being kidnapped by aliens. Ren and Felicity have instant chemistry, distrust and neither like the other. Forced to work together, things heat up and a bond is formed. I really love this series.

So good; I’m just sad that I finished it so quickly, I just could t put it down. I love stories where the main characters aren’t in love right away and pretty much dislike or distrust each other, it just makes for insane chemistry and this book sure delivers there 🔥
Really enjoyed the story, the action and the character development. Presley delivers another great addition to the series! ❤️
