Midnight Kingdom is the fast-paced and exciting conclusion to the King of Shadows trilogy. Amelia Wilde's spin on a classic Greek mythology tale is dark and sensual and edgy.

" I want all your summers Persephone. Every fall and winter and spring until you don't have any more left to give."

Hades and Persephone have changed so much since they first clashed into each other, and I really like where the author took them as a couple. They learned to work towards a common goal together when their relationship and their lives were at risk. I liked that Hades still had his ruthlessness intact even while Persephone brought out a softness to him that he didn't know existed. He stayed true to who he was as leader of a dark and gritty world, and Persephone was able to find the inner strength to stand beside him as his queen. The two of them together was just as sexy and tension filled as it was in the beginning of their relationship.

"Every touch is a lesson, a reminder that she is now and always will belong to me in every way possible way. She's mine."

The story had grit and violence and some great intimate scenes between Hades and Persephone. The plot moved quickly and included some really interesting secondary characters. I am hoping Poseidon will be getting his own story because I found him so intriguing, and a dark pirate romance by this author would be so epic. I am really looking forward to Zeus' story coming up next!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Revenge is a dangerous game, but I played it for Persephone. Now we'ere locked in battle with a lethal enemy. I own her body and I'll win her heart. But with enemies at the gate and my fortress under attack, there's something more at stake-our lives.

This is the third and final book in the Kind of Shadows Series from Amelia Wilde. You have to read King of Shadows and Summer Queen before Midnight Kingdom. I am so loving this series and Hades and Persephone. I am so sad that our time with them is over. They have had one heck of a journey and now the war is at their doorstep. If you have read the other book then you know that if these two have been on one heck of a roller coaster ride. We have gotten to watch these two grow and change as they have gone through all they have been through. Working toward a common goal has really made them grow as people. We get to see both the soft side that Persephone brings out in Hades but don't let that fool you into thinking he is still not the same ruthless man we have all come to know and love. I don't want to give away anything about the conclusion of this book. But I will tell you that it is dark and twisted, full of passion and fire, will have you on the edge of your seat and the twist will blow your mind. I loved this book so much and devoured it!!! If you haven't started this series than you need to. I don't know why you wouldn't. And if you have been waiting like me on this third book then you will love it, get everything you ever wanted from this series and fall deeper in love with these characters. Amelia Wilde has done one heck of an amazing job writing these characters and their story.

This is the third and final piece of Hades and Persephone epic story. You do need to read all these books and in order to obtain the complete story. The journey that these two have been on has been quite the roller coaster ride of intense emotions, drama, excitement, suspense, hot passion darkness and jaw-dropping twists. I loved these two so much! They totally stole my heart. I'm so to say goodbye to this couple but I eagerly look forward to more books set in this world. This is my forthright, volitional review.

This is the most intense, the most thrilling the most emotional, the most breathtaking story in this series. WOW!
I didn’t think that Ms. Wilde could outdo herself one more time, but she did.
Secrets are unlocked, loose threads are tied and feelings are revealed …
Hades and Persephone's story comes to a fulminant conclusion. It's heartbreaking and at the same time enchanting to see Persephone grow from a shy girl to a confident woman and it's even more exciting to see Hades become a tiny bit more open, a little less cold and stony and a little bit more caring and warm ...
This is the brilliant finale of a phenomenal series and a real page-turner!

It’s been two days since I finished Midnight Kingdom by Amelia, and every where I turn or at any mention Hades, I’m instantly transported back to this trilogy. I wasn’t even 10% in and I could already feel my stomach in knots and my heart racing! Reminding myself that I needed to slow down, and not fly through it, but did I listen? NO! How dumb was I!

This series will always hold a special place in my heart. A perfect combination of the dark, intense vibe of Hades with the bright, all-encompassing need of Persephone. While I’m sure the retelling of this story will occur again and again over the years, this will always be my favorite. Everything about it hit those buttons in me, that had me pinching my thighs together while the temperature in the room rose significantly. I’m still working on a way to physically obsorb this tale into my very bones.

Midnight Kingdom was ending to this trilogy that I didn’t want, but NEEDED! Giving me more of the man that is Hades (my complete obsession), and what makes him tick, while having Persephone come more into that Queen she was meant to be. Amelia has outdone herself, and this trilogy is just another reminder of why she will always be my favorite. A true Queen herself!

I confess, I wish I could forget I read this trilogy, just so I could start fresh from the beginning and re-read AGAIN! That is how much I love this, and knowing I’m going to get more of the Gods I can’t seem to get enough, sets my blood a-pumpin’. If you are looking for a new author, or just a read that will have you making a deal with the devil for more, THIS IS IT!

I'm going to start out this review by saying that Midnight Kingdom is the third & final book in the King of Shadows trilogy, which means that you HAVE TO READ IN ORDER, King of Shadows (Book 1) & Summer Queen (Book 2) FIRST! And since it's a crazy story based on mythology, and there are the previous two books out, I'm not giving any important details from the story. I will say that it's fast paced, exciting, and kept my heart rate up cover to cover. I'll also say that Hades & Persephone definitely developed very well throughout the series, but we're at the place where things come to a head with Hades' enemies. The secondaries only added in more goodness to the bigger picture, and I'm desperate to have Poseidon get his own story (hint hint Ms. Wilde). And of course there's the twists & turns which were bigger this time around, so my normally loud f-bomb dropping was next level loud. Y'all have to hit those one click buttons immediately, and if you haven't started the trilogy, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Anyway, I'll just end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO ALL!

MIDNIGHT KINGDOM by Amelia Wilde is book three in the King of Shadows Series. This continues the story of Persephone and Luther Hades so you really should read the previous books 'King of Shadows' and 'Summer Queen' before starting this one. This book starts where we left off where we see Persephone and Hades both fighting together. They both have grown through out this series and with this book we see their full potential together. Hades is still the strong dangerous man we learned to love but with Persephone he has shown his softer side to her that no one knew he had. I am so in love with this series and with this author's writing! I hope to read more from this author.

So sad to see Hades and Persephone’s story come to an end, but I can’t wait to see what’s next to come. These two have been through the mud and coming out the other side together, stronger than ever. Persephone is strong willed, smart and a perfect match for Hades and with her by his side he can conquer anything. Their story has suspense, passion, drama and you will tear through the pages wanting to know how it all ends. Great read, loved it and patiently waiting for what’s next to come. I received a copy of this book.

Midnight Kingdom by Amelia Wilde brings the steamy, dark, intense and thrilling conclusion to an epic series. Hades and Persephone's mesmerising love story gave me all kinds of feelings!

Persephone and Hades are standing on the precipice. Their relationship started as hunter and prey. And gradually it became a soul deep connection. But his evil brother Zeus is threatening to topple his mountain kingdom with diamond mines. Can they beat the monster? Will Hades' weakness be a problem? Will Persephone become his true queen?

This story has a very fascinating and intriguing storyline. It was very fast, action packed and full of adrenaline rush! Hades is the perfect anti hero. His cocky, possessive, arrogant and ahole alpha personality fed my depraved and alpha-loving heart so well. And Persephone's transformation and growth was amazing! She bloomed from a shy and innocent woman to a confident, self assured and fierce queen. She fought side by side with Hades and her love was source of his strength. But Hades is still the dominating and uber possessive man who has claimed Persephone completely. And Persephone thrives under his care and protection and possession.

Midnight Kingdom by Amelia Wilde was a heartaching, steamy and delightfully dark romance. Hades and Persephone's angsty and steamy love story made me fall in love.

I love Amelia Wilde’s version of Hades, he ticks all of my boxes. Persephone grew from naive girl at the start of the series to a strong and exquisite queen deserving of a spectacular diamond encrusted tiara in Midnight Kingdom.
I devoured this sensual, intense and thrilling romantic trilogy in a day and a half and now will wait impatiently for Zues’s story to be completed.

The stunning conclusion to one of the best series of the year. I loved everything about Hades and Persephone. Their story while messy and complicated at the beginning turned into a swoon worthy romance, where they learned to love and fight for each other. I could not read it fast enough!!

Midnight Kingdom by Amelia Wilde is the final book in the King of Shadows trilogy. This picks up right where Summer Queen left off. I don't want to say too much so I don't spoil anything, but Persephone and Hades have to work to protect the mountain from attacks in this final book. Persephone and Hades' relationship was really great in this one. They've definitely grown since King of Shadows, and I liked seeing a more vulnerable Hades. I loved seeing Persephone grow as well. There was a lot of suspense in this book and I was always unsure of what was going to happen next. We got to see a lot more of Hades' past, which I loved. The only issue I had was the sudden ending. I felt as though the climax of this book wasn't too much of a climax, and I wished there had been more explanation and more about what happened after. I did love certain parts of the ending, but I do wish that there had been a bit more with the whole mountain and sibling conflict. I cannot wait for Zeus' book, which is next! I definitely loved reading about Persephone and Hades and I think this trilogy is a great retelling!

Wow what an ending going out with a bang. Hades and Persephone went trough the final fight protecting each other and it was the most exciting emotional part of the series as they became stronger and with value of each other.
These two were made for each other the perfect fit of bad and good and very very steamy. I Loved it I'm sad to see the end but look forward to more in this world.

Persephone and Hades’ story has come to an end. I was curious to see if their story would end the way the myth is, but I was pleasantly surprised. Amelia Wilde wrote their story based on the myth while changing things up to make it new!

The mountain is under siege. Hades has to find a way to keep everyone and especially Persephone safe. He’s ready to go in extreme lengths and form unpleasant alliances to make it happen. The book is all about them fending off enemies and trying to stay together. It was really good seeing Persephone evolving to her true self. She’s a Queen, Hades’ Queen, and she’s ready to rise to her rightful place. The only person she’ll kneel to is Hades!

They will go through many things before they can be together. Their relationship is full of twists and turns, that kept me guessing how they’d end up. I liked how we got glimpses to Hades’ past; it helped me understand more. All the secrets he’s been keeping are surfacing and Persephone is finally getting the answers she wanted all along!

If you are looking for a Hades and Persephone myth retelling, then this trilogy is definitely for you! Their story is sexy, unconventional, and guaranteed to leave you asking for more!!

Hades and Persephone go to war for love!

The fantastic conclusion to this amazing retelling of their story.

The war comes to the mountain. Zeus attacks. Poseidon makes an appearance. (Love this take on him! Please, please, please tell me we get a story for him too!)

More backstory...Demeter is one cold mama.

I love this story even more now that we've gotten to the conclusion. No big surprise this is one dysfunctional family, but Hades & Persephone are starting their own HEA. Persephone has given Hades a silver lining in his darkness. Hades has helped Persephone find her strength.

I can't wait for Zeus's story.

Note: This is not a standalone!!! Start with King of Shadows.

Wow!

Hit this one on the head! Wow! I am reeling from this conclusion to the trilogy.
Hades and Persephone gave me chills, kept me on edge and had me rooting for the antihero. They are perfectly imperfect, messed up and still so alluring.
The vivid imagery in this story had me turning pages so fast I almost got a paper cut. (Ok swipe burn? Is that a thing? I’m an ebook reader)
I was so pumped for this book and it was everything I hoped and more, I’m sad to see this end. But now I cannot wait to continue with Zeus’s story!
Way to go Amelia!

Midnight Kingdom is the epic conclusion of the King of Shadows trilogy. This entire trilogy has been one long exciting and captivating read. I really enjoyed this sensual journey. It was dark and loving, it was twisted and captivating with exceptional character growth. Obviously, the gist of the journey was not new to me, but the author integrated her own brand of magic on this classic Greek mythology, so it had its fair share of unexpected turns. This is one of the best modern day adaptation of a classic that I have read in a long while!

Well this was better, at least something actually happened in this book.

I think the second book just ruined it for me. I was literally just skimming the book just to finish it since I didn't want to DNF it.

It got better but by the end of it, there was just no character or plot development. For a romance, there was still no romance. Their relationship is just so physical and that's it... I wasn't rooting for them at all.

Yeah, not a fan.

Kind of confusing and without harmony between events.
I was curious about this trilogy because the MCs appear in the Beast of Bishop's Landing series by the same author. And of course because it's a retelling...But, hmmm, it was a little messy.

I'm not sure what I was hoping for but it felt like there was something lacking. I can't quite put my finger on it but something was missing for this story for me to give it five stars. I love Hades. He is a complicated guy and I understand why he acts the way he does because of his upbringing. But that doesn't mean that Persephone should just sit back and take it. Persephone irritated me with her actions and acted a little bit like a spoiled brat considering what she just survived in the previous book. She acted selfishly when there are other people at risk. However, she does go on to prove herself and step into her new role. I was pleased to see this. The last third of the story brought it home for me. It was better and left me satisfied with the ending. Both Persephone and Hades were great in this last third. But I couldn't believe Demeter. It's hard to believe her and Persephone are related. Overall, the story was an enjoyable read and some of the past was revealed which did explain the dynamics between Zeus, Hades and, Demeter. I'll certainly miss seeing Hades.

Midnight Kingdom (King of Shadows #3) by Amelia Wilde is the final book in Hades and Persephone's story. The story picks up where book 2 left off. Hades and Zeus end up in a fight. Some how Hades lives to fight another day and brings in his brother Poseidon to help him keep the mine safe. Of course Poseidon has a strange price for his services. In this story we get some back story to their lives when they were younger. I feel like this book was more of a set up for other books to come about Hades's siblings. I was left with a lot of unanswered questions that I hope will be answered in the other books. Eventhough I was left with so many questions I still enjoyed Hades and Persephone's relationship. Hades was not as mean as he had been when it comes to Persephone. His feelings for her continued to grow throughout this story. And Persephone grew into more than I could have ever imagined considering how she was when I first met her. Loved them. Their ending was a nice surprise and I hope to see them in the next book which is about Zeus since he and Hades have unfinished business. 3.5 stars for me.

Midnight Kingdom is the 3rd and final novel in the King of Shadows trilogy. The story was dark and intense, fast-paced and action packed and held my interest until the end. The story continues where the 2nd book left off and we continue along this wild ride with these two characters. I loved the partnership between Hades and Persephone in this book. Both characters have grown so much since the first book. The story was filled with suspense, drama, intense emotions, hott steamy scenes and twists and turns that will have you at the edge of your seat. This dark, edgy story was an excellent spin on the classic Greek mythology tale and a great conclusion to this trilogy. I enjoyed and would recommend it to all lovers of Greek myth retellings
