I don't know what to think of this one. As someone who's been working in the field for some years, this book had very little that was new to me and I felt like it never really went deep enough with any of the topics it discussed. The text sounded repetitive and the examples were so broad and so devoid of any practical details that they stirred my curiosity at best and left me rolling my eyes at worst. Furthermore, there was a lot of focus on big analytics teams in organizations with plentiful resources and commitment to the field, so if you're working in a small team in an organization where the function is not taken seriously enough, you will likely not find this book very useful.

Overall, this read more like a collection of blog posts rather than a guide as to "how to use workforce data to create business value". Would I recommend this? Yes, but only to people who have extremely limited knowledge within the field of people analytics and don't know where to start.

However, one noticeable drawback is the repetition of certain ideas throughout the chapters, which can make the reading experience feel somewhat redundant.

Moreover, considering the profound impact of COVID-19 and the rapid emergence of AI technologies in recent years, some parts of the book now feel outdated. While the core principles remain useful, it would greatly benefit from an updated edition that reflects these significant changes in the landscape.

Overall, it's a valuable read with meaningful insights, but a revision is necessary to maintain its relevance in today's context.

Superb read on the realm of PA w plenty of corporate examples that bring the models to life; Very in-depth & provides a landscape to see the big picture - written in a way where you want to learn more

Any company would benefit from the proposed Operating Model along with the 9 dimensions identified; The authors also do a great job of connecting the overlaps that exist within each dimension

Good god this was awful, it’s full of case studies and horrible analysis of each one. I was initially disappointed because I wanted this book to be a practitioners guide for someone starting out in the field. It just got worse the more I read it, if anyone with an engineering or technical background picked up this book they’d probably lose whatever little respect they had for this field that’s just starting to see widespread adoption.
