Day 45: Action Comics #278 (July 1961):

"The Super-Powers of Perry White!"

Another “Supergirl-as-a-secret-emergency-weapon” story where Supergirl provides an assist to Superman to get him out of a tough spot. However in this story, for the first time, Supergirl disobeys Superman’s direct orders and problem solves on her own, leading to an overall better solution which ultimately saves Superman’s life.

"The Unknown Supergirl!"

Based on Supergirl’s consistent good thinking and successful good deeds, Superman has decided it's finally time that the public learn of her existence. However things don’t go as planned when Supergirl inexplicably loses her superpowers.

*I am reading one Supergirl aka Kara Zor-El (Earth-One) story every day, starting with her introduction in May 1959 in Action Comics #252, until her final appearance in October 1985, in Crisis on Infinite Earths #7.
