A good grasp of grammar enables the foreign-language learner to build skill and confidence in communication. Here's the "ultimate," painless way for intermediate and advanced learners to brush up on the rules. Each grammatical concept is explained and then illustrated with lively sentence examples; extensive exercises offer practice at applying this knowledge in everyday conversation. Also included are "culture notes," authentic documents, vocabulary boxes, and verb charts, as well as a full answer key and index.
There is a lot of practice as advertised but it's not a fun language learning resource for review. If you do learn well through steady homework, all the exercises have an answer key in the back. There is also a useful list of idiomatic phrases in the last chapter.
Finished every exercise in this book. I think it's a great summary of everything you need to know and presents everything simply. I will continue to use it for reference.
After using this book for some months I am marking it 'already read' and moving on, but I have certainly not done all the activities and I do intend to come back to it in the future. This is an excellent review and practice book that fits in well with some verbal practice you could find elsewhere. It is not a suitable book for beginners.
