Alena's Revenge

Rate this book
Pain is all I know, it’s my constant.

The one thing I can count on in this hell hole. In the basement I’ve been locked in since I was stolen from my life and made into nothing more than an animal. The place where they took my body and cracked my mind.

There is the Alena from before...and the Alena now.

The woman who does whatever it takes to stay alive. Who revels in pain and death. The one who dreams of screams and violence. But then he comes, the Boogeyman. He promises he is no hero, but that’s okay I’m no damsel in distress. Down here in the dark even the monsters might just find what they were looking for.

My name is Alena and this is my Revenge.

**Alena's Revenge is a short-standalone set in the same world as Scarlett Limerence and Nadia's Salvation. To understand her story you don't have to read theirs but it might shed some light on some of the content. Please note, this is a dark story with content that some readers may find triggering.**

We saw this in violent tendencies BUT Ka added more stuff!! And my heart broke even more for Alena.. I changed my rating I this one

I think you should read the 2 books (Nadia and Scarlett books) before this to understand the series. But again you don't have to
I have been waiting for Alena story since I finished reading Nadia book. And it did not disappoint!! Be warned this one is on the dark side like super in that.

Alena has been tortured, beaten, raped over and over again for months she has fought stayed alive just so she can get her revenge one day. My heart broke for her she went though so much stuff had to do stuff to stay alive but now she has a cell mate that's more dangerous then the people who took her. And boyyyyy she made a impression on him. No one fucks over the Boogeyman Idris was retired until he was betrayed now hes in a cell counting down the hours until he breaks everyone's necks and has some intresting convos with Alena next door. At first he doesn't care he's a one man show until she worms her way into his skin he wants to help her.

And when they do get out its bloody and sexy lorddd talk about blood play lol these two make Desiel playtime look like kid play. Hunting down every sick person who is apart of this trafficking ring.

Heavy Angst, secondary charas, drama, sexy times, no virgins

Dnf at 43% . I will only lament that I didn't dnf this sooner.

First of all, I am tired of pseudo "monsters" who toot their own horn. And here, both the MC's are doing that. 😣

Idris/Boogeyman

“I’m a monster for my crimes. My soul is so black, I will burn forever. I know that, but I don’t fucking care. One more body, one more death, it means nothing to me.”

I watch from outside in the dark like the monster I am. With a disgusted sneer on my lips, which is aimed at myself, I turn and head home.
No, Bessie is better staying as far away from me as she possibly can.
After all, they don’t call me Boogeyman for nothing.

Second, Is it just me or are this author's heroine's always so OTT and have such a flare for drama?

I’m a creature.
The monster they created.

⚠️ WARNING!! ⚠️ This book is DARK AF. Its a brutal read and even i struggled. It made me feel physically sick at times. Stick with it, the satisfaction you get from the revenge is worth it. Twisted, but worth it. If you are ready for a ride to hell and stay in hell, then pick this book up. There is no sunshine or rainbows. ONLY REVENGE.

Short read - I would suggest reading Nadia's salvation first although they are stand alone.

I knew this book was going to be a tough read after finishing Nadia's book as we already know that Alena gets taken, we just didn't know the extent of what she went through.... I have never read a book with a lead female like Alena. Putting it blankly, she is psychotic. I've read lead females who are bass ass and kick ass. But this is different, Alena is feral. Its what they made her, she is a monster rising from hell to drag everyone who ever wronged her back down to hell along side her. And well, Idris is the male equivalent. This book is so f*cked up. But you can't stop reading, it has you hooked. The perfect description; The Joker & Harlequin 😂🙌🏼 maybe darker...

"I was invited. Google said it was rude to ignore the invitation" - boogeyman 🤣

Overall I loved this story, it wasn't as long as the others but in all honesty it didn't need to be!!

DNF. I didn't get more than half way before I gave up. I couldn't suspend disbelief enough to get out of the cages/dungeon with the MC's. The stuff going on in there made me snort in disbelief. It took forever to get through the amount I did read. This book wasn't for me.

Alena's Revenge K.A.Knight

I Previously read this Book in the Violent Tendencies Anthology (it was limited timed, and is no longer available).
This book is being sold separately and has been expanded.
No Spoilers.
This is also a updated review ☺️

I Give this book a 4-4.5/5, Listing as 4.
HEA(?): Yes.
Stand-alone(?): Yes. It’s a part of a universe but can be read by itself.
Cliffhanger(?): No.
Relationship Type(?): MF
Dark: 4/5, but this book may be darker for others :)
Dark Heat(?): Heck Yes and I Loved it! 5/5 for me! Some of the smexy times did make me laugh out loud it was so awesome and so good!
Heat: 5/5
Romance: 4/5, it was completely forked up and delicious!!
Drama: 4/5
Suspense: 4-4.5/5
Pacing: Pacing fits the story, it doesn’t feel rushed. This one, reads a lot smoother.
Humor(?): I Loved the sarcastic humor! 3.5-4/5.
Loved the vibe in the book based off of favored films as well.

This version is more seamless. Returning to this book was better the second time around, cause you knew what to look for. What questions I had previously were answered.
This will be a continuous reread, cause you can tell it’s gonna be one of those reads where you’ll find new detail each time you read, and that make its all the more enjoyable.

Quick ✅ Dark ✅ Bloody ✅

Alena is a lonely girl. Her boyfriend dumped her and she has no family and limited friends, so when she goes out drinking alone looking for a hook-up, she makes the perfect target for sex trafficking. Unfortunately for her captives, they were not expecting such a spitfire of a woman who fights them at every turn. After months of being held captive, someone new is brought to the cell next to her who she focuses on to keep her sane (or as much as she possibly could be at this point). Alena is on her last whim- her only reason to live being one thing: revenge. The Boogeyman in the cell next to hers quickly sees the fire in Alena and can’t help but be impressed.

This book was so damn dark and bloody and I was here for it. I’ll be the first to admit I would’ve loved a thicker book because I loved both Alena & Idris, but it was still a great read!

Well it was really good, and kinda darker than the other two books. I was curious about Alena and her story (surely not a easy one to read about) but what i really wanted to know was the Boogeyman's 😍
Idris is freaking amazing: a big scary a$$assin who doesn't give a f*ck about anyone but her 🔥🔥
Together they are so HOOOT 🤩
And now gonna wait (im)patiently for Ronald book, the lethal silver fox 😏😏

Not what I’m used to from her…

This isn’t like the few other books I’ve read by K.A. Knight, similar in a way to her Den of Vipers, which is one of my favorites, but I think this was a bit darker in a way I didn’t care for, and slightly more unrealistic that already stretched by being a fiction book as is. Wasn’t bad, and was pretty short to read, just probably not my fave from her. Won’t stop me from reading other of her books, but she goes into pretty dark material, some is inferred and others are more detailed. Which could explain her hit and misses with me.

-Overall? 4
-Spice? 3.5 ( I like dark spice, and rough sex, but right after a r*ping….not so much)
-Plot? 3 (this isn’t much of a read for plot, it’s short, violent, triggering, and painful sex fueled)
-Character Dev? 0 ….sorry
-Triggers? YES! Check your warnings always. Details of r*pe scenes, rough sex, violence, murder, assault, forced scarification, forced water play and torture.

4.6 stars.
Damn.
That was shorter than I expected, and also bloodier than I expected.
I really enjoyed all the darkness in this book.

If you read Den of Vipers, you’ll know that was dark in its own way. But this tops that by about a million.
Check Trigger Warning for sure.
Torture, rape, murder, mutilation, it all happens on page.

This is not for the faint of heart. It’s dark and practically drips blood from its pages.

But I really enjoyed Alena’s fire. Her drive for revenge. Her complete and utter savagery.
And Idris was there along the way to guide, contain, and reign over his Bitch.

Its completely fucked. Way more than Den of Vipers ever was.
But it was also hot as all hell in my messed up head.

It’s not anywhere remotely sweet. But it’s also sort of romantic in its own fucked up way at times.

This is no romance where the assassin cracks under the damsel’s presence, changing his ways and falling instantly in love with her.

This was an assassin who had run from his ways and Alena is in the right place at the right time to bolster him back up and push him back in.
He fights it a bit, but Alena’s fire and shadows reel him in and continually surprise him with their destruction.
By the end they’re working together pretty smoothly. The darkness inside each of them colliding and twining together irrevocably.
It’s sort of beautiful despite how fucked up it is.

I absolutely loved this. And I thought the ending was totally perfect and fitting.

I know I skipped the two books that are connected to this one and happened before this but I’m not sure I give a fuck about the other women. After Alena I don’t think they’d stack up.

But we’ll see. Maybe I’ll end digging into those books too.

d. a. r. k.

This is a very intense and dark book. I really enjoyed Idris (MMC) as a character. I thought that he did a great job being an assassin, and also becoming slightly soft for our FMC.
Our FMC (Alena) was wonderful too. Going from sad and tortured too crazy and vengeful. It seemed like an appropriate progression and was believable. I enjoyed this book but I’m going to be honest I don’t think it is for everyone.
It is genuinely hard to read at times in the torture is extensive
The spice is perfection, and the romance is believable

Warning, this review contains some spoilers.

I'm going to start with a regret. I wish there were detailed revenge on D8ck Number One and D8ick Number Two. Like, Mrs Knight made a point putting them in the story, so she should have made Alena take them right out just as she imagined.

Except for the above, all I wanted to say was that K.A. Night knows how to write her torture scenes as well as some freaky spice. You either love her or hate her. Or like me - wants to hate her (because it's what society tells me to do) but actually really like her. At least to some degree. We have this argument with every book I pick up of her - as some of her books are all smut and have no plot, but if she takes her time to write some story - that's when the gem comes out.

Wow, K.A. Knight blew it out of the water again. This story definitely had some Den of Vipers vibes going on and I was totally there for it. There was certainly the potential of a lot of triggers in this story because when I say it's dark I'm not kidding in the slightest. First, we meet Idris, the MMC, there's definitely something dark about him straight off the bat. He seems to be living alone trying to lead a normal life, but nothing about his life is normal as we find out later on. Alena is the FMC and we jump straight into her story as she is held captive and tortured by her captors.

It was a total page-turner and I enjoyed every minute of it. Both Idris and Alena are total bad a$$es in their own ways and I loved them both. Literally, every page of this story drips with blood and the revenge that Alena and Idris will get on those who have wronged them. And as always it was brilliantly written, with amazing execution.

A quick, gory, brutal, savage, sexy, story!

General gist, with spoilers:

--Rating - 3.5 stars - I skimmed a little in the third quarter of the book...somehow loosing interests in the inner dialogue despite its craziness.
--Steam - 5 stars - K.A.Knight never disappoints in this department. It's savage, and uniquely torturous at times.
--Storyline - 3 stars - a simple story to follow...revenge.
--Plot Twists - 2 stars - everything is out in the open in this book. It's not a suspense, we're not trying to discover some crazy plan that's going on. It's straightforward.
--Emotional Pull - 3 stars - Alena endures A LOT! But you won't find yourself crying or anything like that.
--Writing - 3 stars - doesn't feel like K.A.'s normal voice behind these pages, but pretty comfortable to read nonetheless.
--Denouement - 5 stars - everything is wrapped up well. No loose ends.
--Cliffhanger? - nope. nice quick stand alone read.
--HEA? - surprisingly YES!

*Trigger warning: this book is FULL of torture, rape, gore, blood, knife-play, guns, violence, mental abuse, physical abuse, and more. There is no skipping it, so if that's not your taste, don't attempt this book.

Dark, very very dark. READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS before you start this book.

This book was very dark but worth it. It is about Alexa who gets drugged at a club and kidnapped. These people try to sell her but she is crazy so he tries to kill every one who tried to buy her. Eventually , they settle on torturing and r*ping her. Enter the boogeymen, he is a retired ex assassin who is investigating his neighbors disappearance when he is taken and brought to the same facility as Alena. They form this odd relationship since their cells are right across from each other. They talk about revenge and her life and his life. Eventually, Alexa has an opportunity to get back at the men\woman who took her and she takes it. I won't say anymore on this but I will say this book was dark and it was bloody and I loved every min of it. Read it if you like dark romance but be warned this book is not for the faint of heart. Read it at your own risk and read the trigger warnings before starting this because this book was brutal!

4/5 "No. You're the only thing in this world I fear. I don't fear death. I don't fear pain. I don't even fear everything that comes between that and this. All I fear is you. Letting you close or walking away from you. You reminded me why I do this. For them, for the faceless innocents who suffer in this vile world. I took this job to protect them, to save them, and along the way, that got lost. Tonight, you reminded me why, and now...I fear you. You have the potential to be the only one who gets close to the monster everyone fears. If you betray me, if you die, if you walk away, I'll become the monster they all fear again, maybe even worse." Well, I honestly don't know what to say. Katie has a way of writing characters that you love to hate. Idris is one that you just don't like, but somewhere along the lines, you start to care. Alena is kidnapped and turned into a life of being a sex slave. Idris is the assassin everyone fears. These two find each other and turn their life into one of revenge.

5/5 - there are no heroes in the story - zero

If you have are not a fan of blood, torture, sex trafficking, blood play, knife play, rape, extreme violence, and murder, DO NOT read this book. It’s not just a dark romance, it’s the blackest of black romance. There is an HEA and it’s so earned but seriously beware.

Alena and Idris and broken people. Both tortured physically and mentally. Alena is a survivor that has been turned into a blood thirsty monster bent of revenge. Idris is a brutal assassin. They find each other in a dungeon and forge a partnership to take down a sex trafficking ring.

This is a brutal story. Explicit torture scenes. Alena and Idris get off on violence and blood and it translates into dirty and sometimes bloody sex.

PS Idris’ nickname for Alena is Bitch. There’s a reason, but again, if this offends you, don’t read this book.

THIS BOOK ISNT FOR EVERYONE!!!

CHECK YOUR TWs!!!!

This book was fucking crazy! Start to finish! Holy shit!!

The intensity of this story blew my mind at one point I thought I might give it up cuz of the forced assault! That shit was no joke!

I pushed through cuz KA Knight knows how to write a good ass story that is fucked beyond anything from beginning and is truly wonderful at the end!

The strong female determination is what captivated me! She fought tooth and nail and came out stronger then before! I honestly loved every minute of it!

I was shocked that he craved bitch into her skin I honestly didn't even kno wat he would do 🤦🏼‍♀️ I just felt so bad for her that that is the one thing that broke her! The bastards name on her! Bro I was livid! I couldn't believe it!! But be hold Boogeyman makin her come to her sense of that boss ass bitch that she is!

Dark romance with anti heroes

Alena and Idris - this is one broken, messed up, super dark love story. Please note that if you have triggers do no read this book. If you enjoy villains as your main characters then I highly recommend. Alena is out for revenge and rightly so - the nice, pretty girl no longer exists and in her place is a pissed off woman out to get what's due to her. Luckily for her those she dreams of getting revenge on make the mistake of trying to get their revenge on the Boogeyman. A broken assassin pretending he was enjoying retirement. And so their love story begins...this was a dark romance full of bloody action and I liked it a lot. Two lost, crazy souls found each other amidst their revenge....worth a read if you're into dark romance

This is the extended version from the short story in Violent Tendencies and it does not disappoint! If you read the short story, you already know this is created in the same world as Nadia and Scarlette’s stories. You don’t need to read them to read this story, but I highly recommend that you do! You also know that Alena is out for revenge! We get to see more of her story and all that she has endured. This is a dark story, be mindful of that before diving in. There is steam, lots and lots of steamy steam. The story is easy to follow , the pace matches the story, there aren't too many twists and turns, we know what Alena wants! The story wraps up nicely, it is a standalone so you're not left with any cliffhangers! It is a fitting end to a wild , dark ride!

I really didn't like this book.
Most of the torture is there just for the shock value. The plot feels like an afterthought. And the characters are pretty one dimensional.

Some elements are missing for me and I just couldn't feel the characters. So the torture was there but had no emotional impact for me. Which made this experience flat.

The over the top John Wick world didn't really help either. Tho now I wonder how the movies manage to make it not feel so out of please and ott.

I have the feeling that the horror genre or maybe thriller does the whole "let's torture someone for 50% of the book in all kinds of ways" better than this. This book screams "I am edgy" but the emotional scarring part is missing.

Dark and bloody

Ms Knight has a talent for writing violence and her standards have not slipped yet. In Alena, we have an fmc with a flippant bloodlust, created due to her captivity and her own inner strength. Idris is a man who thought he had escaped his violent life until he too was captured. Combined they make one helluva team, working together to take down everyone involved.

Despite the graphic depiction of the acts , there is an undercurrent of developing emotions neither expected to feel, with lust turning quickly and surprisingly to love, with the deep trust between them.

I love Katie's books and this is no exception.

So dark and unlike anything ive read

Its definitely not for the faint of heart. Its gritty and dark and shows the ugliness of the world most would never know about and few would survive. It shows some are born monsters and some become one thru circumstance. Alenas strength thru it all is a thing of beauty and boogyman sees it. It shows even monsters have a soft side just not in the way normal people do. This book is 1 giant trigger so if ur squeamish or have ptsd from mental, physical, or sexual abuse you definitely do not want to read this book but for those strong enough and curious enough to...its worth it.

Okay..so I went into this book blind not realizing it was a standalone from a universe series, so maybe because of that I missed the mark a little bit.
With that said, I was quickly sucked into the book but quickly found myself getting desensitized about half way through .. I love to read dark material but not for the shock value alone.. I personally need something that feels a little more believable..

For those who are interested in reading something with a laundry list of trigger warnings - gore - grit and sinful spice, then this is the one for you.
I kept picturing Heavy Metal.. in other words.. very slap happy smut or grindcore p0rn vibes

**Beautifully Dark and Disturbing**

I can’t say enough amazing things about this book! Yes, it is very dark at times but it wasn’t ever overdone. The plot was very well planned out and Alena and Idris were so perfectly developed over the course of the story. My heart broke for Alena but it didn’t last very long before that raging fire blew up and I couldn’t wait for her to get her revenge with help from Idris. And the steaminess factor was OFF THE CHARTS!!!! I will definitely be re-reading this book over and over and over!!!

“The Boogeyman and the Bitch’ has a nice ring to it.”

Alena is introduced in the novel Nadia’s Salvation and I already knew she would be a bad ass. I knew going into the story that there would be very dark elements because of the premise of the story. With that said, it was beautifully played out and as the title says, Alena gets her revenge.

The Boogeyman was also introduced in Nadia’s Salvation and he may not have been but my favorite male assassin, but he kicked butt and was all for his girl so he gets some stars in my book. Max is still my favorite though. 😂
