Sisters Faith and Jaeden Cesaro encounter brothers Johnathan and Owen Newmann in the magical land of Tarani. After discovering that they are the heroes foretold for years, they embark on a quest for the Elemental Stones. Along the way they will learn much about themselves, one another, and the evils that reside beneath the surface of Tarani.
I feel like it really was being told by the kids. They had a great adventure and I can't wait to read more by the author. Edit-I just reread the book and I have to say it's even better now that I am older and understand more. I am so happy that my mom got me this book and I can't wait to read the next one. If I could rate it over five stars I would. I love how this book is written by someone younger because it can inspire future writers. Thank you Hope, you are a great author.
I’m in the middle of reading Queen’s Arrow and this book is really good!! This reminds me a lot of the Magic Treehouse series by Mary Pope Osborne (which was one of my favorite series as a kid) even though they’re two different books with different plots. It has the same nostalgic feeling. The sibling dynamic between Faith/Jaeden and Johnathan/Owen is adorable and well-written. The characters are really lovable. The 4 pov’s in this book pull the book together and it helps understand the main characters better. This is a very light-hearted read that is a breath of fresh air from some of the gloomy books that I’ve been reading recently and is really entertaining and enjoyable for all ages!
This was absolutely a very fun story! The plot was intriguing and, excuse me, but I think I’m just a bit obsessed with Owen… He’s honestly the best character in the entire book.
There were SEVERAL things I really enjoyed about this book
I really enjoyed relationship of the characters, and above all, I just have to say the world building and the different things that go on and happen in Tarani were probably my favorite parts of the book. There were so many parts of it that made me go, “Wow, that’s a really cool idea!
To be perfectly honest, the book gave me just a feint amount of Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe vibes. I’m not sure if it was the end scene or just the fact it was a group of kids that happened to be two boys and two girls, but I'm here for it. 👌😌
And I love that the kids actually sounded like kids.
This was a great, adventurous first book by Hope Munson—and she's only 15 guys. I can't wait to see how she and her writing world grow with the next book! 💛
Queen's Arrow gave me a nostalgic feeling while I read it, it felt like a classic fantasy with elemental themes, and magical powers, and I absolutely loved the use of the markings on each character (and having it on the cover!)
Overall the story has excellent worldbuilding, real-feeling characters, and a fresh and fun writing style to it. It handles so many fantasy stereotypes without making them feel dull or overused, rather the author kept the story feeling fresh and captivating until the very end.
The main thing I enjoyed in the book is the dialogue and relationships between the characters. It felt very realistic, and made me feel like I was pulled into a magical adventure with them! I really enjoyed that aspect of the story.
Overall, I can't wait to see what else Hope Munson writes, her first book is excellent and I know she will only continue to grow and improve with her writing.
