Chemistry is unmatched and incomparable when two beings are in the same room. He describes his energy as charged whenever she’s in his presence. She claimed to have inhaled all of him. She’s been holding her breath ever since the day he left her.
Inhale is the prelude to a love story. EXHALE will be released soon. K. Yvette debut release, Friendsgiving is now available on Amazon.
It is so refreshing when elders are still looked to and respected for guidance and wisdom. Inhale truly dropped gems that can be appreciated by any age group and bot genders. K. Yvette is giving lessons with few words & I'm hanging on to them! Great job!
I felt every emotion reading this book! This is for every women that has been through a heartbreak! The questions...the reassurance..the closure...THE PEACE! I clung to every word!
Inhale is a story inspired by Jazmine Sullivan's latest album, Heaux Tales. It's a story of a woman navigating her life after a breakup, while incorporating some "tales" from other characters in the story. "She felt tossed out on the street. With no fair warning. No closure. No last round of sex to say goodbye." When the main character, Naomi, feels damaged beyond repair, she ventures to a sort of AA group for women, that talk about their breakups and help each other heal. It's in the basement of Leedy, the unofficial den mother, that she creates a bond with women so strong, she's deemed them as her family.
Naomi Simone Carlton was what most women aspired to be. "She was an Olympian athlete. Her credentials were lengthy. She'd done it all and surpassed every goal that she'd personally set for herself, along with smashing the records of her predecessors." But even, with all of her fame and fortune, her heart is in need of repair. A breakup that occurred five years ago was weighing on her heavy. "A smell would do it. A particular song on the radio could too. It was certain foods she didn't eat anymore because they reminded her of him." She's unable to get her heart and mind on one accord. Heart still longs for the love that her and Bishop once shared, but her mind knows that what once was, will never be again. How could things ever go back to what they were when your ex thinks God had a hand in their breakup. "I will remain in your life until God tells me to leave it."
This short story was written so beautifully I was sad for it to end. I found myself rooting for Naomi to overcome her heartbreak and continue to slay life as a bomb ass individual, but I also found myself rooting for her and Bishop to find their way back to each other. If you don't know, K. Yvette is Nako's pen name, and if you've ever read a book by Nako then you know that sis is going to give you some dope sister girl relationships, along with some gems to incorporate in your life, and sis is going to take you to church. "You're worthy of love. You deserve everything that you FREELY give. See, the difference between you and that fellow is that he knew his worth. You didn't." Again, I loved EVERYTHING about this book and can't wait to dive in to Exhale.
Very interesting. Naomi had a very bad childhood and her man left her. She decided to close herself off to the world. Fortunately, once she met Leddy and a few other women, she was able to allow herself to heal. Very relatable.
We've all felt these emotions before and the author stirred our spirits with this one. I felt every page and every word. Naomi's pain leaked through the pages.
The ending caught my breathe !! This book was pour emotion we can always count on gems growth and real ishhh with this author ❤️🤧😭. My emotions are so involved in this story I can’t even put it my feelings into words
I’ve read this book 5 times since its released date. This book is the epitome of healing from a heart break. Every time I’m going through with a man or thinking about that old thing that might’ve got away, I’m rereading this page turner.
Although this book is fiction it helps women who have been through heartbreak self reflect. This book pulled raw emotions out of me that I didn’t even know I had. Naomi Simone Carlton is real, so many women can relate to her. I know I saw myself in her. And on the last page, I definitely shedded tears. This book was well written and I think everyone should read this book atleast once in their life.
K. Yvette did her thang. There's so much of Naomi in each broken woman that's just trying to really value their worth. We've all experienced all the emotions of the women in the basement. We all need a "Leddy" in our life. This was a very good read. It was refreshing. It was liberating. Left with a cliffhanger and I can't wait for the next read!
This book is real raw, too raw. It is relatable. The characters are YOU! Fr. Each of them have unique layers and very personable. The plot will keep you on your toes trying to figure out past transgressions of characters, illnesses, etc. This book is so on point about the heartbreak to healing process a person goes through, that it may be hard to read for some people but if you can make it through the 70 pages, you will feel refreshed. Now Exhale, is the next step so I can see if Nae gonna continue her healing or risk her healing.
I know this is only the prelude, but I am FULL!!!! I have so many screenshots of quotes just from this prelude! When she blocked him, I did the proud fist pump lol!! I was so proud! I was reading this book like “if you know you know!” I know y’all know the breakthrough of hitting that block button!!! Naomi represents so many women (ME) that gave our hearts prematurely. And what I love about it was she gave herself time to heal. That’s the step we don’t want to go through. That painful healing process. It’s necessary! It’s important! It’s needed! I’m super excited about the upcoming book. I know it’s going to be a banger! You are my favorite author. Your books always come at a time when I need it! You did it again, sis!! I will always support!
This author's niche can be described as spiritual and therapeutic. I appreciate that this author stresses the importance of sisterhood and the scriptural basis of the elder women teaching the younger. I wanted to be in the basement with Leddy, Naomi, and the sisters that meet on a constant basis. I would love to be in a circle to lay down my concerns, anxieties, and fears in order to be empowered and strengthen. This was a great prologue and I am looking forward to reading Exhale.
I’m quite interested in seeing how Exhale is going to play out, so without giving away how this book ends, I’ll stick say the author ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. I’m wondering if we’ll get the answers to sooo many questions like, what’s going on with Leedy’s health, where is and who is Journey’s birth mom, will we get more on Naomi’s family dynamic. Oh so many unanswered questions, but this was definitely a good read and I love Naomi’s awakening and hope it isn’t derailed…
I get there will be another part to this but I found the story line interesting but left me so unfulfilled with so may wholes. Like there was a lot of good connections and relationships that could have been build up so well if it was a full length novel but since it was a short story I would have like to see one particular top of issues fully through. And the jumping from past to present was to much in the short amount of time. I am going to read exhale in hopes it would be better and nice me more substance.
I think Naomi struggled with not being able to move on from Bishop because there wasn’t any closer. It seems when Bishop got the call that he would take over his Father’s church he dropped her and moved on to start a life that he’s not even happy about. This book shows truth when it comes to leading the church while also battling a “un-godly” outside lifestyle. I look forward to reading what Exhale brings.
I can’t imagine longing for a man for almost 5 years being miserable and sad. Naomi is young, beautiful and famous and can have whoever she wants. Why was she stuck in this man. Why did he have to be married with children. I don’t like stories of infidelity and this may just be that. Hoping that in the end that Naomi chooses to love herself and not a miserable married man.
This book was ehhh okay. This didn’t have a impact to it at all. I felt like it was a prolonged confusing book. What I did love about it is the spiritual affect this tried to put out, but it wasn’t compelling in the least. I couldn’t really feel the emotion, or the raw need. Some stories I feel was there just to have chapters. This is my first read from the author so Idk if I should move forward or not.
Unfortunately, my review may be a bit bias. I love to read, however, I don’t want to be depressed while reading. So if you’re like me and not looking for such a heavy book then this might not be the one for you. The writer is good it’s just that the lead character has a lot of sh*t with her and it’s like it’s a dark cloud over her head. It was just too much for me and I didn’t like the headspace that it was putting me into.
This novella introduces the reader to Naomi, a woman who has loved and lost…not by her choice. From a front row seat, we witness the hurt and self doubt that comes from a devastating breakup…especially when there's a soul tie.
My introduction to K. Yvette left me breathless. Not only was it beautifully written, but it was very relatable. I highly recommend this to any woman who has been hurt by love.
I almost didn’t buy this book. I am so glad I did. This author took my emotions on a journey. I felt the main character was me. The emotions and pain was so great I felt myself inhaling so deep I almost passed out. I cannot wait for the next book. This a short book but it is an amazing book for anyone who needs closure.
This book was like a fresh breath of air.. I actually went back and read it twice. Thank you for sharing these Gems with women. Thank you for allowing us to experience such growth in your writing. THANK YOU for always letting us know we are enough even when we feel like we aren’t. If you are looking for clarity in your life i highly recommend this book .
This book is so good!!! It's about losing yourself in the day to day, heartbreak and finding your peace. Naomi is experiencing all these things but with a new sisterhood she's putting her self back together again. That last line took me out, “You lost Bishop?” I'm so ready for book two.
In true Nako fashion, the hidden jewels in this story is WHOA! Naomi and Bishop have is it all and has nothing at the same time. To be held hostage emotionally (on your own) is a terrible thing, but the beauty of turning the corner makes it worth it. I cannot wait for Exhale!!!
This one made me think about my past relationships and how I let things go down with men, I'm glad I came to love me and being with me. It's good to take care of self first and foremost!!! Moving to exhale, I hope she doesn't let him back in cause he not leaving his wife.
“We always love them. We love them first. We love them fast . And we love them hard” - READ THIS. Soak in the gems and hold yourself accountable and to a standard. Wrote TF out of this.
Intense! I was immediately wrapped into the emotions of Naomi to the point where I had to just stop and breathe. Miss Leedy and her home of healing seems so therapeutic. There are so many emotions from both sides. I can’t wait to exhale!
I love this story so far and it's only 70 pages. But for me in those pages it has so many life gems being dropped. K Yvette does it again. The bonds created by these women allowed for a real sense of community and I loved it.
