The Beach House Trilogy #2

Beach House Vacation

Rate this book
Ava Ingerson knows what she wants: the beautiful California beach house she just inherited, a career in teaching supplemented with income from her vacation guests, and a life full of friends, fun and family—right here in Seahaven, California. She’s never moving again, no matter what, so when handsome entrepreneur Samuel Cross arrives to stay at her beach house for two weeks, Ava knows the last thing she should do is act on her attraction to him.

When Sam forgave his business partner and fiancée for falling in love with each other, he didn’t expect them to invite him on their pre-wedding vacation jaunt to Seahaven, or that he’d actually agree to come. But Sam knows his ex. She’s planning to use the trip to make a bid for control of his start-up. He’s prepared for two weeks of unmitigated misery with the happy couple and their other guests, but things look up when their pretty host, Ava, quickly takes stock of the situation and maneuvers Sam into the best room of the house. Now if only he can convince Ava she needs to spend more time with him, he might salvage this vacation, after all.

Ava isn’t sure why she keeps coming to Sam’s rescue, but she’s having more fun than she’s had in years as they explore all the area has to offer—with and without his friends. If she doesn’t get her heart under control, she’ll end up hurt all over again. After all, Sam has made it clear his home is in Chicago.

Sam knows his life is waiting for him in Illinois, including the big contract he’s been working so hard to land, so why is he daydreaming about a life under the California sun? He needs to persuade Ava to come home with him. It’s the only sensible thing to do.

But neither Ava nor Sam feel like being sensible anymore…

Good story.
I liked this one.
Ex drama in form of ex fiance who is engaged to someone else but scheming.
Both have family/friendship issues.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
There is a paragraph where the Hero is thinking how enamored he was with his ex at first, including her kisses.
Secondary characters that have loads of potential for more books.
HEA.
Epilogue.

ARC.

Beach House Vacation is book 2 in the Beach House Trilogy series by Cora Seton and so different from her Chance Creek series…in a good way!

Up next is Ava who has inherited the Blue House, a beautiful BnB from her aunt who while she was growing up, traveling all over the world with her parents, sent her letters from Seahaven that represents a home base she always hoped for. Bad breakup, not moving for a man, new friends, new job and a new reservations are just what she needs for her happy place. Until she meets Sam who comes for a 2 week engagement vacation for his ex fiancée, his BFF and his employees.

What happens next will keep you turning pages, laughing, wanting to shake someone, sparks flying and so much more! Can’t wait for the next book in this trilogy and maybe new stories surrounding the secondary characters in this book!!

This is the second book in the Beach house series and focuses on Ava. Ava just inherited this amazing seaside house from her Aunt. It's called the Blue House and is a beautiful bed and breakfast on the water. Ava's just coming off a bad breakup where she traveled the world with her boyfriend only to find out that he never wanted to settle down. Of course, as soon as he leaves her, he settles down with another woman (but I digress). Ava's decided she's not moving for a man ever again. It's bad enough that she has her family living far far away and they put her down. But Ava's happy in California in this place and is starting a new job teaching at an outdoor adventure school. Did I mention that this bed and breakfast is located between her two best friends houses?

Enter Sam and a group of employees. Sam and his best friend Ben have been working in Chicago on a start up company called Scholar Central that's trying to bring school and outdoor experiences to every student through videos. He wants to bring the great outdoors and all these wonderful places to students who might not otherwise see these places. But there's Chloe. Chloe's an employee of the company but is also Sam's ex-fiancee. She's been climbing the ladder at the office and trying to get Sam and Ben to give her shares in the company so she can get a big payout. When Sam refuses to give her shares, she leaves him and starts dating Ben. She's now engaged to Ben and this trip was supposed to be a fun trip that Chloe's running, only she's a dictator and it's quite funny how she runs things.
From the moment they arrive, sparks are flying between Sam and Ava. But is she willing to date a guest? How will Sam handle being around his best friend and his ex-fiancee? There were so many fun layers to this story. Watching Ava and Sam together is so much fun that you're routing for them to take the next step. But what happens when the week is over? Read to find out!

Wow! Once again, I am bowled over with Ms. Seton's ability to keep me enthralled throughout the entirety of a story! Her tales never cease to amaze me, as she draws the reader into the story, making us feel like we are right there alongside the characters, feeling their pain and joy with them. Her characters are "real", down-to-earth, and you will either love them or despise them, and their stories vivid and truly believable.
I love the way she incorporates the characters from the previous book in the series. This was a feature that kept me coming back for all of her previous Chance Creek series', as she intertwined three different series together for one truly blockbuster read! In this episode, we not only get to follow Ava and Sam as they make their ways across their journey to discover love and happiness, but we also have the distinct pleasure of revisiting with Emma, Noah, Penelope and the rest of the locals, as they all play a part in the continuing saga of Seahaven.
Throw in the likes of Chloe and her "friends", and you're apt to wonder what Sams' bff Ben, is thinking! Full of excitement, angst, emotions that run high and low, this book will have you pulling an all-nighter to finish, because once you start, there's no putting it down. Loved the characters, pace and plot! Well done!
I was gifted a copy of this book, and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.

Another sweet addition to this series! Wonderful, heartfelt characters have us wanting to visit their B&B's on the California central coast for a relaxing vacation.

Ava Ingerson is settling into life in the Blue House B&B her Aunt left her and about to welcome a group of friends celebrating an upcoming wedding. She's heard of bridezillas but this one takes the cake on every level. And what is going on with the bride's ex joining this party? Well, Ava takes an instant liking to Sam, especially since his best friend and business partner is now engaged to his ex.

Sam can't believe he's on this vacation from hell with his business partner and his ex fiance. But something is going on with Chloe and his start up with Ben and he needs to stay close enough to them to figure it out. When Chloe's demands and control go too far Sam does everything he can to avoid spending time with the wedding party, and more time with their hostess Ava, which suits him just fine.

But will their differences create too many issues to allow Sam and Ava a future together?

I did wonder why Ava never makes breakfast for her guests at what appears to be a B & B.

I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.

This book started out really nice. I was almost ready to give it 4 stars but then I read the rest of it and it’s just meh. A lot of ex-fiancé drama. Honestly, I get Ben , with all he has been through, but he’s an adult who’s capable of making his own decisions probably and he chose Chloe over Samuel so idk …

The thing I hated the most is Samuel not standing up for Ava and Samuel not understanding Ava’s pov even when she explained it nicely. Chloe insulted Ava and Sam just stood there. Very-very later on Ava was explaining to Samuel how her ex-thought his job is better/more important than Ava’s , how whatever he was giving her was enough for her and shit and Samuel was literally thinking the same thing in his monologue….. Like how his job will earn more money bla bla …

It’s a closed door romance type of book and I’m totally fine with that but idk they were not suitable together.

What’s with everyone moving to seaheaven ? literally every character, who already has a solid life built in different cities, are ready to move to seaheavan just after visiting it once ….

A lot of side characters and unnecessary stuff - like I don’t need to know about the history of that castle in every book.

After having inherited her Aunts’ property, Ava has taken charge of her life and starting to put down roots. Nothing can upset her stable balance, or so she thought until Sam comes barrelling into her life. Although they form an instant connection, there are so many factors making a relationship difficult between them. The main one being Sam is only a temporary guest in her house on a pre-wedding vacation for his best friend and business partner. Unfortunately the bride in question is his ex fiancée who is viscous, vindictive, nasty and determined to get a slice of his business any way she can. He’s not going to go down without a fight, but is he too late? With things set to become ugly will his new found relationship with Ava get caught in the crossfire? What a story. On one hand you’ve got a nice blossoming romance with Ava. On the other you’ve got the spiteful, manipulative, selfish, bullying ex fiancée causing havoc. Not only is there plenty of love and hate in this story, the explosive tension will have you on the edge of your seat.

Vacation for the Win

Ava's story is the second in a three book trilogy about three women who are now neighbors, friends and business associates. Seahaven is a lovely coastal town in northern California overlooking the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. These three friends are trying to make the most of their inherited properties in this town ripe for tourism. Ava knows she's not really a hostess with the mostess, but with her teaching position and renting the bottom floors of her "Blue House" as a vacation house, she feels confident she can make a go of it. Of course, her first booking turns out to be the pre-wedding party from hell. Except Sam is one of that party, and he is perfect, at least to Ava. Sam is participating because the bride-to-be, Chloe, is also his ex-fiancee, and he doesn't trust her motives. So begins Sam's search for what his life really means and how Ava fits his vision. And he clearly meets her criteria as the perfect man for her. Now they both must find their way past previous expectations and be open to new life possibilities. Their journey is redemptive and rewarding. Lovely writing and story telling.

ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ava Ingerson traveled the world, following her self-centered boyfriend Todd for years.
When she inherited her beloved aunt's beach house, the Blue House, in Seahaven, she wanted to settle down with Todd, last. Instead, Todd left her only to marry someone else after a few months.
After a year Ava is renting rooms to vacationing guests and prepares for a teaching career.
She loves Seahaven, she has fun with new good friends and she is never moving again.

Enters Samuel Cross here on a pre-wedding vacation organized by his ex-fiance Chloe who is now marrying Samuel's business partner and (ex) best friend!! He accepted the invitation suspecting she is scheming to sell their business.

Ava and Sam are attracted to each other from the beginning, but they are cautious, afraid to trust again. A slow-burn romance and HEA.

I liked these characters, they are well-rounded and feel like people you would like to meet.

Ava loves the house in Seahaven that she inherited from her aunt, even though the inheritance caused discord in her family. She also loves her friends, the garden, and the ocean. As a world traveler, Ava now wants a home and an income. Blue House can be both, as an AirBnB with a separate apartment. Now the Blue House has its first guests, and they are quite a crew. Chloe and Ben are celebrating their engagement with their friends. Sam is there as Ben’s friend and business partner, and Chloe’s ex-fiance. If you can get past that, author Cora Seton gives you a story with wonderful character depth and a dilemma in the world of education. As Ava and Sam get to know each other, they spar over differing views on the best ways to learn. This is a nice story about Ava and Sam, and the people in their lives. An enjoyable visit into the world of Seahaven.

Great book 2

Ava is surprised when the group booking her rental includes a gorgeous man who is there to celebrate the engagement of his ex-fiancee and his best friend who is also co-owner of a start-up company with him. Sam is wondering why he bothered coming along, except that the group includes other employees of their start-up also! Then he meets Ava and realized that things aren't as bad as they seemed, or are they? As Ava battles her attraction to a guest who is only there for 2 weeks, Sam is fighting for his company. Will they be able to find a way to be together, or will Sam leave after the 2 weeks are up?

The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character oriented storyline that has some steamy scenes but not a lot of details. The characters are vivid and engaging. You do want to read these in order, so get book 1 and this one. Then we need to wait for the last one. Sigh... If you like character development and seeing characters and concepts from the previous story, then this is for you. I love the idea of a "trouble bench." Enjoy !

I loved the first in the series and hoping for a repeat of that in the second bit didn't find that to be true. The Beach House tool place in the same setting but focused on Ava who inherited a vacation house.
There are guests staying there, one being Sam, for a pre-wedding vacation. Sam and Ava are the main couple a d they would be performing each other bit the book focused more on Sam with his ex-fiance and friend as opposed to building a relationship with Ava. I didn't like the way Sam was treated by his so called friends and even family members. He was pushed around and rarely stuck up for himself.
It needed as expected but these two spent more time apart trying to figure themselves out then they did trying to work out their relationship.

I received a copy of the book for a honest review

This is the second book in the Beach House Trilogy and while it can be read as a stand-alone novel, I definitely recommend reading the books in order. Ava has inherited her aunt's vacation rental and she is determined to finally settle in one spot and make a home. But now that she has a home she loves, friends and the start of a new career, is it too much to ask that she might meet someone too? But is Sam what she's been looking for or simply another person bound to break her heart?
Once again, Cora Seton has written a romance that immediately pulls the reader into the story and makes you wish you were right there in Seahaven with her characters. Definitely an enjoyable read and I can't wait to see what she has planned for Penelope!

I liked this one, but not as well as the first one. I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I think it was more than the story didn't move as quickly as the first one did. Once I got into it more I enjoyed it better though. I did like the aspects that she brought in about teaching and the way people learn. I liked the debate between the characters on the education aspect. One thing I will say is that I enjoy Cora's writing. Even if I don't always connect with the story or the characters I'm never disappointed or frustrated by a poorly written book. I am looking forward to the last book in the series and I have enjoyed the change of scenery this book has offered.

I received an advanced reader's copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have to admit this series so far isn't my favorite from this author. I started it and got a little bored and put it down for a while. I came back and finished it, but I was more interested in the bit about the castle and what was going on with Sam's company than the relationship between Sam and Ava. The heart to heart Sam had with Ben was pretty great. The relationship mending Ava did with her family was nice, but again really didn't have much to do with Sam and Ava as a couple. I guess this is more of a women's fiction than a contemporary romance. Not that it was bad, I guess just not what I expected going in

Cora Seton doesn’t write characters; she gifts friends to her readers. Series characters become like family, and the interconnectedness of the stories in each series add to that feeling. While Beach House Vacation focuses on Ava’s story, we get to visit with Emma, Noah, and Penelope and the rest of their crew as well. I did not like either Ava’s ex or Sam’s, and there were times when I wondered whether they had taken leave of their senses by being involved with them! And, seriously Ben – was that a wise move? Chloe’s not firing on all cylinders 😊. It’s a slow-burn HEA for Ava and Sam, and it’s a blissfully gentle visit back to Seahaven and old friends for the reader.

As always Cora has another hit on her hands!
Ava is the second of the three ladies that inherited a beach house in Seahaven, California. Ava decided to open her house to vacation guest and she will also be teaching to help supplement her income.
Sam arrives with his ex and the his business partner to spend a miserable two weeks with the wedding party.
Both Ava and Sam have just come out of bad relationships and are not looking for any in the near future.
Best laid plans just never seen to work out that way when Cora gets ahold of it. Totally heart warming with a little bit of drama thrown in to keep you on your toes.

I'm loving these three ladies who have all inherited beach houses and have become friends who greet the morning together and watch the sunset every evening from their respective decks. They have even rigged up a pulley type system to send bottles of wine and chocolate from house to house.

They woman who finds love in this book, Ava, is the owner of a B&B and hosts a kind of strange group. It's a pre-wedding trip that also includes the business partner of the groom who also happens to be the ex-fiancee of the bride-to-be. It's quite the mess and even more so when Ava finds herself attracted to Sam, who will returning back to the city and his business soon.

Such a fun series!

This is the second book in this series and could be read as a standalone but I think it would be better if you read the previous one first. It was great to watch the attraction between Ava and Sam develop throughout this story. I liked that this was a romance but also a book about friendship and family There was a major conflict that had to be resolved before there could be a HEA. Both Sam and Ava had to make tough choices about their relationship. I would definitely recommend this book. I received an arc but this is my honest review.

Awwwww, I loved this book. It’s on the sweeter side, which was a nice change for what I’ve been reading lately. I loved Sam’s family, his sisters made several appearances and each time it was fun to read the interactions. There are some great interactions with Ava’s family as well. The characters all had a lot of growth, even in the short time frame that it’s initially set. There are some things that occur that really should be talked about more often. It’s amazing to me when an author puts things like that into a book. Overall, I love the whole story.

Book two in this fun beach series by Cora Seton is just what you'd expect from this author. Great characters, sizzling romance, and a nemesis you love to hate. With plenty of strong girl power, these three friends continue to find their places in this beach community. I just love these books. Cora Seton excels in building communities that people love to read about. This story revolves around Ava, as she struggles
to move on from a failed relationship. Add in her dysfunctional family, and you've got a great story. Five Stars!!!

The second in Ms. Seton's series. Before Ava inherited her beach house she was travelling with her then partner & recording educational videos along the way. She gains Fisherman's Point, where she used to spend summers with her uncle and decides to fix it up, live in a apartment on the top floor and use the rest as a rental/destination wedding venue.
As the story unfolds you'll earn about her renters, their stories and what comes to pass.
Well written plot and likeable characters make this a comfortable enjoyable read, can't wait for the next in the series

I received an ARC for a review. I really enjoyed Beach House Vacation. Cora has a flare for bringing a community to life. Ava and Todd are both very relatable and their story brings out a lot of emotion. It’s a refreshing, warm hearted adventure that takes you to the beautiful Northern California coast line.

I like the main characters and I am glad they got their happy ending. I hated Chloe and I wish we could have been done with her sooner. Her toxic personality really made chunks of the story seriously unpleasant to read. I did enjoy the character growth with Ava and her family, and Sam got some growth too, so that was satisfying.

I am so enjoying this new series from Cora Seton. The characters are always well developed and relatable. This book will have your rooting for the main characters while actively disliking the nemesis. The plot is woven well and pulls you right in. Highly recommend!

Disagreement

I did not like this book as much as the first book. There seemed to be too much disagreement and sadness in this book. I do recommend it and the next one in the trilogy to hopefully end in a more positive way.!
