Ultimo episodio (per ora?) della serie di Ruby Steele. In effetti, a parte il nuovo caso che le viene chiesto di risolvere da una turista la cui amica è stata accusata di omicidio, essendosi ritrovata a letto con l'amante sgozzato mentre il marito di lei e la moglie di lui erano da altre parti del resort in cui soggiornavano, le altre sottotrame, quelle che costituiscono la trama orizzontale, si risolvono, ma non in maniera definitiva: Mia Gold probabilmente ritiene conclusa la serie ma si lascia aperto uno spiraglio per un eventuale quinto episodio.
Io vado via dalle Bahamas con un certo sollievo: per colpa di Ruby Steele, le isole non mi sono sembrate certo un paradiso, ma un covo dei vizi più sordidi.

5 stars for Straight Up (Ruby Steele Book 4). Where do I begin? Love Ruby Steele and all the characters in this series. How she gets out of tough situations while trying to lay low is amazing. Truly hope there are more books to come in this series. After all, there are still lots of possibilities for Ruby's redemption and freedom.

I listened to this one on audiobook too. They changed the narrator and she was awful! It’s not a bad book for the woman’s voice will put you to sleep. I also didn’t care for the abrupt ending. Overall, though, it was a good listen because I really like Ruby’s character.

I enjoyed this book 4 in the Ruby Steele series. Ruby is a loveable albeit flawed character who really wants to help everyone, even when things in her own life are complicated. Interesting setting and nicely paced. Fast, easy read. Can’t wait for the next Ruby Steele adventure.
