Reluctant Lumberjack is my very first book by Lynn Burke. This is part of the Cocky Hero Club world. This is a MMF second chance romance with a sweet little girl that will melt your heart.
Nolan Oakland left Rawlings, New Hampshire twenty years ago without a goodbye. He broke the hearts of his two best friends when he left. But not because he truly wanted to get away from them. Instead, because he loved them both so much that he couldn’t choose. But now, his brother has passed away. They didn’t have a relationship. But Nolan is the only living relative to take over guardianship of an adorable four year old little girl, his neice, Trina.
Liam Headley and Nolan both grew up in foster care. Liam also was in love with his two best friends, Nolan and Charlotte. The difference was that both Nolan and Charlotte were straight. Liam was gay. Charlotte is and will always be the only woman he has ever been attracted to. Liam also left Rawlings for college and medical school. Now he is a successful surgeon and has accepted a position right back in the town he grew up in, Rawlings.
Charlotte Mathis is a first grade teacher in Rawlings. In the twenty years since they left, she has never stopped loving Liam or Nolan, her two best friends back in school. But they are gone. Charlotte has always dreamed of being a mother. She has no prospects to make that happen the natural way so tries other methods which also don’t work. Just when she had given up hope, the two men she never thought she’d see again moved back into town.
First, little four year old Trina was so adorable. I fell madly in love with that little princess right from the start, as did all the adults in this book. She and her little stuffed lamb she calls lambey stole the show.
Not one of these characters had ever experienced true happiness since they went their own ways. It was apparent as soon as they were back in one place that they belonged together. But, each of them is harboring secrets. Each of them feels they could be coming between the other two and are willing to step back, because that’s how much they love each other. Enough to step away so that the others can truly be happy.
This might have been a little of a slow burn in the beginning as these three took awhile to find their ways back to each other but let me warn you, once they do, let they scorching heat begin! They…were…HOT!!! This is an excellent ménage. I really did feel the love between these three. And as I said, this little girl stole my heart. I’m so glad I decided to take a chance on this new to me author. I loved everything about this book and won’t hesitate to try something else of hers in the future.

I haven’t had a book irritate me like this in a really long time.
From the get-go the main hero is a complete manwhore.
“Rumor stated he’d slept with all the sluts in school”
Why do the girls get to be called “sluts” and he isn’t considered the same for sleeping with all of them?
He has sex with both of his friends in high school, taking their virginities without the other knowing, and leaves town for 20 years. He only returns to town after his brother dies, and he is given custody of his niece.

Hero is splitting wood and doesn’t pay attention to his niece, so she gets whacked in the head with a piece of wood (she’s ok). In high school, the hero doesn’t kiss his gay friend while having sex with him, because he was “afraid it would turn him gay.”
“Still gay for me?” Liam asked with a grin as I coated my tongue with a guy’s spunk for the first time. I took my time licking both of my fingers clean before answering, my dick wishing to be eighteen again.
“Always.”

I must admit, I was skeptical going into this book because I’ve read enough Cocky Hero Club books at this point and they’ve mostly been on the shorter end when it comes to pages and I just wasn’t sure the story would have enough development to it or at least a proper development, but I love me some MMF so I threw caution to the wind and said why not. Well, I am ecstatic that I did because not only did the story unfold easily and organically, but it also left zero holes and as it developed and Nolan, Charlotte & Liam moved thru the levels of their journey, it was deliciously sexy and made my heart sing!
Lynn Burke penned a story full of heart, hope and most of all friendship & love. She brought three people destined to be back together and added a sprinkle of adorableness with little Trina into the mix. I was hooked from the start and super stoked I took a chance on this one. I look forward to reading more from this new-to-me author in the future! Well done!

This book had me at the cover and blurb. There is just something about a big, possessive, bear of a man that turns my crank and Nolan is exactly that. The Reluctant Lumberjack was my first read by Lynn Burke and it will not be my last!
The three main characters Nolan, Liam and Charlotte are so very different from each other. Nolan, Liam and Charlotte met in their teens. Their friendship sustaining them. The dynamics between the trio is complicated. Nolan is straight and he’s attracted to both Charlotte and Liam. Liam is gay and in love with Nolan and also attracted to Charlotte and Charlotte is attracted to both men. Complicated much? You betcha. Does it make for an incredibly hot and sexy, over the top romance read? Absolutely!
Watching the three of them work their heads around their complicated relationship and the overwhelming feelings consuming them, made this a read in one sitting romance. Reluctant Lumberjack is the perfect combination of over the top and sweet. I really, really, enjoyed it and give it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval. TBR and Enjoy!

Liam is very openly gay and Charlotte is on the plus size for girls. Both received their share of bullying in school and instantly took to each other in an instant kinship. They have been friends for over thirty years and nothing could get between them, well almost nothing except Nolan.
When they were high school seniors Nolan had a brief affair with Liam and also with Charlotte. Torn between the two and never wanting to choose between them or wanting them to break up a friendship he left, but after twenty years he's back in town. Could they all make amends? Could they all be more?

This is a new to me author but I saw some great reviews for this book so thought I'd give it a go.I didn't like any of the characters and found Nolan to be a sexist douchebag tbh. The only good quality he has about him was his love for Trina but then he was constantly making snide comments about her. Not really for me!

Homebird Charlotte stays in the small town where they grew up yearning for love and her own family. Liam remains her best friend and moves home to plant roots. What neither of them count on is Nolan moving back to the town.
There is a complex web of emotions between the three. I kinda wanted to bang their heads together and get them to talk. Too many secrets and second guessing. And Charlotte broke my heart with her insecurity. But they get there in the end and this is a threesome founded on a deep love connection that has remained over the years.

This book had a very unique storyline and I loved that we got the story from all three perspectives. I love a good MMF and this one had a nice twist. After leaving behind the two most important people in his life 20 years ago, Nolan returns to the town he left behind to raise his little niece. The light angst between the three kept the story moving and kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a slow burn but the chemistry was there from the moment the characters reunited. If you love a good MMF romance this is definitely one you want to check out!

The characters are wonderfully written and complex . Nolan is a tortured soul , he is torn between the two loves of his life. He is a big burly man who is gruff and possessive . There is a broken soul buried deep inside that just really needs to heal . He is gentle and oh so sweet when he lets his guard down. Liam is a confidant man who knows what he wants and will get it when the time is right . Deep down he is still the vulnerable young man that is still fighting for what he wants. Charlotte is the girl next door living in the same small town . She is not really confidant about anything. She is a curvy girl who has been knocked down all her life . When they are all together they really bring out the best in each other . They truly belong together as a family.
This is a book that you will be hooked by the end of the first chapter . The characters are so relatable and intense . You will like them when you first meet them and fall in love with them by the end of the book. The author can really paint a picture of a tortured soul and the ways that that tortured soul can be saved . This book really tore at my heart strings , I felt like all the characters needs hugs . This is a book where you need to carve out a couple of hours to curl up and read, because once you start you will not put it down until you are finished . This is a great book for your fall reading challenge. So check it out.

WOW!! I really loved Reluctant Lumberjack!! It sucked me in right from the first page and didn't let go till the very last cause I had to find out what happened to Nolan, Liam, and Charlotte. And little Trina was beyond adorable!! These 3 have known each other since they were young teens, and they've been in love for a lot of that time. Nolan is the first to leave the small town for college and he takes it and his secrets with him. He can't run away from his feelings though, as they follow no matter how far he tries to run. Liam also leaves, and he has no intention of ever coming back, but an opportunity comes up to work at the hospital there and he decides to take it. Basically the only one who stayed was Charlotte. Even Nolan ends up coming back, not really by choice but maybe it's for the best when these 3 are able to finally let go of secrets that they've held on to for way to long, and maybe they can find a way to all have what they want most and have wanted for a very long time. I am so recommending this book, it is definitely worth a read!!

This was a little different take on the MMF trope, and I really enjoyed it. It's part friends to lovers, as well as second chance. All 3 of the MC's have secretly had feelings for each other but then they all went their separate ways. 20 years later, they are all three reunited living back in the same town: Nolan to become the caretaker of his newly orphaned 4 year old niece. Liam is a surgeon who accepts a new position at the local hospital, and Charlotte (who never left) is a school teacher.
I liked that the MC's are not 20 something's, (they are late 30's), they are flawed and even the female MC is a larger girl with insecurity issues that both Nolan and Liam work to erase. The story is a more of a slow-burn, but when they finally all get together, the scenes are hot and original, with a satisfying, unconventional family HEA.
Little 4 year old Trina, was an added bonus to this story and I hope that one day she gets her own second generation book!

Holy moly this book was so wonderful! Lynn is a new author to me and I wasn’t disappointed. This story was so wonderfully hot and sexy and had all the feels. Childhood friends Charlotte, Liam and Nolan went their separate ways but years later reunite and wow!! Also throw in one cute little girl and you have a great book. This MMF story had me hooked with everyone trying to figure out what they wanted from each other plus dealing with outside influences. A truly enjoyable read. This book is part of The Cocky Hero Club but can be read as a standalone. I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion but if you love MMF then this is a book you need to read.

This MMF menage is pretty great. I loved all three leads, and found they complemented each other perfectly. The physical connection is strong, but not stronger than the emotional one, which is the only balance I like when reading MMF. The addition of Trina gives the story an added sweetness and lightness it needs, and I found I loved all of them. What a great addition to the Cocky Hero Club!

This was one of those cases.

Lynn Burke is a new author to me and it started beautifully.
Hot, sassy, and intense writing got my attention in a sec.

This was my first book my Lynn Burke, and also my first MMF romance. It was so sweet but oh boy, were there some steamy parts that got my heart racing.

Oh how I love, love! This MMF romance will keep you in the feels at every turn.
Nolan (one of the MMC’s) is struggling to find love that compares to his first love and youthful lust. However, life has a way of changing quickly. Nolan's brother passes away leaving behind a young daughter that Nolan knew nothing about. He hated his brother, and even though kids are not his thing he knows what growing up in the system is like. He meets his young niece (Trina) and it's love at first sight, Unc No-No becomes a dad. He wonders how his first love Char (Charlotte) is doing, and if now that he is back is there a chance again. Nolan is not the only one back in town, his first youthful lust Liam (the other MMC) is back. Liam is a surgeon and just returned to put some roots in after being away for the last 5 years. His first stop was Char’s to reconnect and build that friendship back up. Char (the FMC), is so happy to have him back, but learns of Nolan’s return as well. This is a wonderful addition to this awesome series and is Nolan, Liam, and Charlotte’s journey. These three were best friends, and when Nolan left town without a word, the other two were left heartbroken. Nolan left town as he loved Liam and Charlette, and he was unable to choose between them, now 20-years later fate has destined them all to reconnect. When Nolan’s brother passes away, he is left with custody of his cute little 4-year-old niece Trina, and he returns tp New Hampshire, and coincidentally at the same time Liam and Charlotte are also back in town, Liam is a successful surgeon, and Charlotte is a 1st grade teacher. Confronting their pasts, they all need to accept and work around the dynamics of their complex relationship. This is a well written story which is sweet, entertaining, witty, and with secrets, which all leads to a steamy and all-consuming riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I adored this heartwarming, romantic storyline. The author gave us a well written storyline with characters you can’t help but fall in love with. As the synopsis reads, our reluctant Lumberjack, Nolan, fell in love with two people in high school, Charlotte and Liam. The three of them were best friends but no way could he choose between them. So rather than hurt either, after graduation he ran. Well it’s 20 years later. Nolan’s brother has died and he is left with his estate (well if you can even call it that), his lumber business and a very precious 4 year old little girl. Another character that will melt your heart. Have Char and Liam moved on? Is Nolan going to become faced to face with his past?
I can’t even describe how enchanting I found this storyline. It is definitely a marvelous addition to the cocky hero collection. I highly recommend grabbing it up, sitting in your favorite reading spot and simply enjoying. You won’t regret it.

This has one of my favorite tropes, second change romance. The story revolves around Charlotte, Liam and Nolan. They’ve known each for 20 years, before Nolan takes off without a word. He comes back due to the death of his brother and now he is given custody of his niece, Trina. I loved Trina, I could totally picture this little girls face as she chatted with her uncle, their tea party was my favorite!
When Charlotte and Liam find out Nolan is back, each is thrown into turmoil, they all love each other but have not communicated that, once they figure out that a threesome is a possibility, they go all in.
Each of these characters pulled at my heartstrings, all they wanted was to be loved but were also afraid to declare that love. Their chemistry was off the charts, sizzling. The power of love really released their inhibitions, but the power of love also made a little girl so happy to have such loving parents.

This is my first time reading this author and I picked this book up as part of the Cocky Hero Club series. The premise drew me in on this one. I love Nolan. Loved his back story and how he stepped up after his brother's death.
Charlotte and Liam were his best friends but he hasn't seen them in 20 years. And this was were the story dragged for me. No matter how messed u pyou thought your feelings were---20 years and no contact with people you were in love with?? That caused all the angst in the story and seemed unnecessary that it continued for so long. A conversation long overdue solved all the issues.
I did love the 3 of them together. They truly were a perfect triad. Charlotte just glued the men together and made everything better.

Holy smokes I need new undies! Hot damn this book was so good and the story plot was amazing! First off I usually tend to not like h's who are insecure about the weight/looks but this author wrote this book perfectly. The whole time wasn't spent on the h being insecure and it was worked into the story. Speaking of the h, Charlotte, she was such an amazing character! She was very relatable and just so lovable to everyone! On to Liam! Who doesn't love a twink! He was a mixture of alpha and feminine and I loved it! Finally our reluctant lumberjack! Damn was he hot! Whether he was with Char or Liam he dominated! So in this book you have such amazing chemistry between these 3 then you through in a precious little girl who they all adore and you have a perfect book! It was heart warming and sexy! Love love love!

Where to start! I've been a fan of Lynn's books for awhile now. When I heard she would be writing for the Cocky Hero world, I was hoping for an MMF and danged if she didn't hear me. I love these three characters. Childhood friends, they were all sort of secretly in love with each other but didn't let each other know. Coming back home after 20 years to raise his niece, Nolan finds out that Charlotte and Liam are still in town. When they all see each other, what's going to happen? This was such a good story and it fits perfectly in this world. And little Trina just made this story even better!

Amazing friends to lovers story!
This is not the normal genre I read. With that said, this was a very well written book. It kept my interest from the very beginning. I'm impressed with this authors writing. For her to keep my interest with a genre I don't normally read says a lot about this book and the authors writing skills. If you're into MMF this book is for you. It's an amazing love story and I found myself rooting for them to find that common ground where they could be happy ALL together. You'll have to read it to find out if they do. I promise Nolan, Liam, and Charlotte will take your breathe away

Oh holy hell I never saw this coming and boy did it make your insides melt. Nolan left his life 20 years ago because he could not choose between his two best friends. This is an MMF story of love, life, and survival. Nolan thought leaving was the right thing to do. However, when his brother passes and he becomes guardian to the little spitfire his life is about to change. Now he's face-to-face with the two people who have always had his heart. Charlotte and Liam have been through their own issues, but one thing never left them and that was Nolan now these three with navigating their love and lives. You will be surprised by how it all turns out.
