Awful! I wanted to like this and was excited about 30 books. Don't waste your time.
This book is the most repetitive group of stories I have ever seen. If you read one of the 30 (!!!) In this set, you have read them all! The same phrases. The same exact wording for each and every suspect. They assume everyone is guilty and act like they have to prove their innocence and instead of the other way around. I keep thinking. Did I read this already? And I have! Don't waste your time, believe me. I am a bit OCD and I will finish any book that I start, but I just couldn't do it anymore. And I gave it a long go.
The descriptions of mundane activities go on and on and it's not even important for the story line. Ugh. Enough
These mysteries were easy to read, short and interesting. I read them all, but honestly, by the time I got to the fourth or fifth , I felt like I was reading the same book over and over. The basic plot was the same, the methods used were the same, only the names and location were changed. The stand alone stories were a little more varied than the series books but still very close to the same storyline. Maybe if I wasn't reading them one right after the other, they would have been less tedious.
But, if you like short, fast paced, cozy mysteries, I am sure you will love these stories. They get your attention and hold it. I just like more variety in a series of stories.
I like cosy mysteries but over 30 similar stories is too much, I read it in sessions of about 20% to have a break, from cheating spouses to murder with 3/4 suspects All with alibi's , I really would have given 4 or 5 stars for some of the stories but not all together.
I'm glad to come to the end of theses stories. The first part of stories were boring and repetitive on the whole. Whilst some of the story lines were interesting the repetitive information got too much. The second half books were better but it was if they were written to a template and only the crime changed. On the whole very disappointing.
There are a lot of good books in this collection, but there was a lot of repetition. Every house in one town must have been Spanish style. Some of the stories were so short that they felt unfinished. There were a significant number of errors. That being said, I liked it well enough to finish it.
Loving a good mystery, this group of short stories filled a fun filled day of reading. Every story kept you turning the page until you were disappointed the series of stories had ended!
Love the short cozy murder stories! Love detective, the cat and the dog. At time some of the plots seemed to lose your interest if you read a large number all in one session so my suggestion is to do smaller readings. 30 is a large dose anyways. 😉
Each story co!we with it's own reward after the !mystery is solved. You will find yourself laughing through some and some will leave you perplexed by the outccome. Worthy reading
What a superb collection of stories to make your week brighter. Each and every one was just perfect to catch your attention and keep you reading. Don’t miss out.
I gave up halfway through. Incredibly repetitive and the dialogue is really terrible. Would it kill her to put names and verbs against the interminable "I like cake" "So do I" conversations?
I really enjoy Meredith's books. No profanity where I have to quit a book just when it gets interesting. Thank you Meredith for giving me a reason to read a lot, again.
Although many of the short stories in this collection have their own charm the predominantly short, even staccato, sentences turned reading into a penance for me.
