Rate this book
In the past two years Sarah Sulmona has been jilted by two lovers, suffered a miscarriage, and lost her mother. To escape her depression, Sarah travels to a remote location in a dangerous country.
As Sarah begins to fall in love again, she is unaware that her new boyfriend has just ended a relationship with a sociopathic killer, a dangerous woman who unexpectedly comes into contact with Sarah.
Traveling into a remote jungle for adventure, a small group–including Sarah– get caught in a horrific tropical storm. A murder occurs. A terrible darkness descends. It’s as though an evil force has penetrated the smoldering jungle. Someone in the group has become a killer, or has the jungle become a bloodthirsty beast?
By morning, the body of the murdered victim has strangely disappeared. Before the end of the day, others vanish without a trace. As night falls once again, will anyone who is left survive the darkness? Is there some way to escape?
The Darkness is a suspenseful and absorbing mystery. It will leave you profoundly unsettled. In the tradition of Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, the insatiable jungle presents an existential crisis mirroring our own search for meaning in a troubled world.
The Darkness is a twisted psychological thriller that will quickly pull you in and refuse to let you go. The puzzle of what is happening will keep you guessing until the very end when you will be blindsided by the truth.

A story of love and betrayal
The Darkness by BC Harris is an interesting love story about betrayal and one woman’s fight to stay strong amid the storm. Sarah Sulmona is the main character in this story who suffered 2 heartbreaks in 2 years. As if that wasn’t enough, she lost her mother and also suffered a miscarriage. At some point, while reading this novel, I had to take a break to ask the subtle questions why her? Her story is pathetic and only takes one with a strong heart to survive the things she survived. Somehow, she still had love locked inside and manages to fall in love again after running far away from her country to one that is less secure. But something more sinister was lurking in the shadows in her new relationship. She was about to discover a dark secret in her new relationship. You need to read this book yourself. I assure you that you will love the story.

Murder mystery from a remote jungle

A miscarriage, the death of her mother, and two bad relationships caused Sarah to run off to a remote country where she finds herself falling in love again. Everyone has baggage and Sarah sure has her share but her new love also comes with his own baggage in the form of an ex who is a murdering sociopath and just happens to run into Sarah. Now drop the entire situation into a remote jungle with a tropical storm and a murder. This sets the stage for an epic struggle for survival. Check this one out folks. The characters are well developed and the scenes are descriptive. The story has twists that will keep you interested from the first page.
