Maxim proved he would give his life to defend mine.

I proved I would kill to keep him by my side.

But is the bloody devotion of a united king and queen enough to win this war?

My fated mate and I are finally fighting on the same side, but our enemies have burrowed deeper into our pack than we ever imagined possible. Before we face my mad sister and her army, we’ll first have to free the minds of our own people.

Meanwhile, Maxim’s sister is still in enemy hands and black magic rises with the full moon.

Can we save the people we love and heal the shifter world before it’s too late?

Or will we lose everything we hold dear—our hope, our freedom, and maybe even…each other.

Look, this entire series is unhinged but I couldn't stop reading??? If you were into twilight fanfiction when you were a teen, this is the book series for you.

Shifter, romance, suspense – this series has it all…

And this was the action-packed, emotional powerhouse conclusion of Willow and Maxim’s courtship. Can you call it a courtship when love is mixed with trying to stay alive and saving the world? In this case, a resounding yes! If this is the first book of the series you are starting with, STOP, and go right back to the beginning as you don’t want a miss a second of how they got here…

Each instalment left with a doozy of a cliffhanger so you know I couldn’t wait to read how it would all end. Willow had been through the wringer (more than once!) and the way Maxim had left things… Well, I wasn’t sure how they could come back from that, how Maxim could dig his way out but… Love is about respect as well as forgiveness and what followed gave Maxim many chances to redeem himself. And Willow? She reminded everyone how to roll with the punches and realize one moment (one horrible mistake) does not define a person necessarily. And those other moments were spectacular…

I should be completely happy now but the twists in this story aren’t done. Diana’s future is still uncertain and I hope the author feels the same way I do – she needs more… ~Diane, 5 stars

I liked the story. But you know the phrase this could have been an email? Well books 2 and 3 felt like that. I finished all four within 24 hours and it was a fast, fun, easy read that felt like it could have and should have been one long book.

Wolf Mate is the phenomenal conclusion to Bella Jacobs’ Dark Mafia Shifters series. Book four resumes right where we left off as Willow and Maxim continue to fight to survive. They must keep each other safe so they can return to the pack and find a way to stop Bane and Kelley. Wolf Mate is packed with romance and suspense with a surprise or two as well which just makes this series even more entertaining and fun to read.

As I have stated in my other reviews in this series, I am not typically a reader of fantasy or shifter novels. But Bella Jacobs has positively changed my mind. Her writing style is so descriptive I can practically envision what is happening as I read the story. This was a truly exceptional series, and I must admit I am a bit sad that it is over. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from Ms. Jacobs.

Debatable Cliffhanger

The final book in the series was decent. It offered multiple POVs which I usually don’t like but felt like it needed to be done to help tell the full story.

However, multiple characters story lines aren’t closed in this book. Maxim and Willow’s story yes, but others no. The final chapter ends with Diana’s POV but doesn’t close out her story, so cliffhanger in my opinion, but it’s debatable.

In addition, the climax of the story was perfect. I felt it wasn’t too drawn out, wasn’t too dramatic or unrealistic. Overall the series was a good in between read. I won’t stalk the author for another book in the series, but if I come across a new book launched for the New York Wolves, I’ll buy it.

🚨Spoilers🚨

I am reviewing all 4 of the book in this series in one review because they were just short 4hr books, and i don’t have a ton to say about a 4hr book so i did them all at once. .

It’s basically like they took one or two books and cut it into 4 books to make more money. I say that because i listened to it on one of those apps that is just romance all the time in audio form and they either charge u a monthly fee for unlimited access (which is what i do) or $4.99 a book. That can get very expensive especially if they are broken down to small 4hr books. But some of the story’s are pretty good so it feels worth it. ( be careful there are some apps that charge $1.99 a chapter, but chapters can be any size and those books are often broken into 130 or more chapters because they know you want the whole story. The story’s are catching but just don’t fall into that trap! It kills your book budget super fast)

These 4 books are about Willow and Maxim, they are wolf pack books.

The basics of these 4 books are Willow is a strong independent woman who is tired of being bossed around by people in her life and when she is forced by her alpha to marry his son(who is an awful person) she takes matters into her own hands and knocks him out and runs away to another pack and begs for sanctuary within their pack. She lies and says she maybe pregnant with the rival packs baby and this is the only reason they keep her.

Maxim who is trying to be the best Alpha possible, is very suspicious of her because of an attack on his family in recent years. So he is very reluctant to have much to do with her or give her much space or consideration, he just wants her “baby”.

Willow sees she is going to have to fight for her own life and she begins gaining allies in his pack, like Maxims sister, first in command and father. Once she has secured her place by talking with his father and his father and her decide that Willow and Maxim should be mated.

Willow is just trying to save her own life but his father has other motives. Apparently there is a prophecy that had been written in the stars somehow and has happened once before and is due to happen again. Which basically says who ever has a baby with one of these two sisters first ( Willow and her sister Kelly) whose stars all align will become King of all the packs. Well Maxim is not happy and thinks this prophecy business is ridiculous. But he goes ahead and agree for his dad but is secretly not planning to do anything like that until it is confirmed from a pack historian that it is very true what his father told him.

Even though Maxim doesn’t like it he is trying to do whats best for his pack and he begins trying to woo Willow bit. Willow is very attracted to him( he is very attracted to her too, even if he won’t admit it), but she isn’t sure about this prophecy and thinks there could be another way.

The prophecy demands she becomes pregnant by Maxim ASAP and she really is attracted to Maxim but she doesn’t want to bring a baby into a crazy world without trying to make it safer and more equal.

Time is not on their side because Maxim long lost brother Bain (who is awful) and Willows long lost sister Kelly ( who is deranged) have broken in and stolen some artifacts and plan to be the first to have a baby, and no one want them in power because they are clear not the good guys.

When Maxim try’s to take matters in his own hands and drugs Willow in order to get her pregnant ( which he feels really badly about but he doesn’t see another way to save his pack, and doesn’t really care about being King of all). He justifies it by saying they had a strong connection anyway and if she wasn’t so suborn this would have happened naturally anyway and he just wants to save his people the bast way he can with minimal damage.

Well Willow figures it out fast after they hook up and is livid as one would be and her and his beloved sister Diana escape.

Once Maxim realize they have left he is frantic to get them back for their own safety and because he realizes he is in love with Willow and of course he is worried about his head strong baby sister too. In trying to get them back everyone is captured by Bain and Kelly.

Maxim is sent to a torture chamber, where he is tortured within an inch of his life, on command of his brother Bain. Willow and Diana are taken to Kelly and basically told that Willow will be a surrogate for Bain and Kelly.

Willow is not happy but plays along until she sense Maxim near and then goes out of her way to save him and they escape. They make up and decide to try for a baby for real. Diana excepts too and meets a guy who accidentally turns her into an owl and then a plan is made by all and an attack is made and good defeats evil and all is good. In the end babies are had marriages happen and they all lived happily ever after the end. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Its your normal pack type books and are good to pass the time but probably not something you will read more then once.

The Narrators are always really awesome in these book apps like this. Which is a little sad, because these are not the highest quality books, kind like reading harlequin romance novels. They are good enough to pass the time but thats it. A lot of really wonderful books either don’t have an audio option or have computer readers or readers that don’t fit or are awful. For some reason the “C” level books always have great readers 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️.

⭐️⭐️⭐️= entertaining enough
🌶️= does have spice however not as much as i expected
⚠️= there are so possibly rape situations, violence for sure.
®️= rented it from an app
🔊= audiobook

Well this was really long! Next time maybe i should review 2 of these 4 hr books at a time instead of all 4 at once. 🤔

Off to the next 📖 book

I loved every moment of this book. The action was non stop though the whole thing. Maxim really makes up for his stupidity , thank goodness! I really didn't want this book to end. I hope one day we hear more about Diana. I absolutely adored her! Do yourself a favor and check out this entire series!

Revenge, rituals, spells, zombies, fated mates, and sexy scenes. These books are so addictive and the narrators on the audiobooks are amazing! The only downside to this book was that everything happened so fast. Willow kills Bane in the first part of the book. Then they contact her parents. Willow’s mom undoes all the mind manipulation and the shifters are on Willow and Maxim’s side. The ending felt rushed, nothing was explained, and she left us on a cliffhanger with no talk of another book. She built up to this big war between the brothers and sisters, fighting to be king or queen. Kelly and Maxim were supposed to go head to head. Then the wraiths blow up the portals leading to the other worlds known as the parallels, which traps, Kelly and her army, and several other people. So the war never happens and we don’t know what’s happening on the other side of the parallel. Then there’s the issue of Bane being turned into a zombie, and he started infecting people. Maxim kills him and burns all the infected. After, he is just proclaimed king. There’s no explanation how he got everyone to follow him. I was disappointed that this whole series led up to Willow becoming queen and fighting for women’s rights. Then she just excepts that he is king and she isn’t a queen and has a baby boy. Don’t get me wrong, I love that Maxim and Willow are finally together and happy and have a darling baby boy and another boy on the way. I was just hoping that she would take more of a lead role since she wanted so much change to happen in the shifter world. Plus, Diana, Maxim’s little sister is just stuck being an owl. A curse was placed on Diana when she had sex with her fated mate, Axe, who is a cat shifter, and her boyfriend‘s brother. She had to have sex with him so she was no longer a virgin and could save her boyfriend since the witches were looking for virgins. By the time they got to Kelly’s camp, her boyfriend along with everyone in Kelly’s army were already trapped in the parallel. I really like Diana and Axe together. Very fiery and unexpected. I need to know how their story ends! I need to know how she becomes a shifter again, if Axe comes back, if they end up together, and what their cat wolf babies would look like. Very upset this book ended so abruptly. I need more information!! She better write a Diana and Axe series!

Well this is the fourth and final book of this series though I will tell you that this can go on and on because it has other stories intertwined and those stories are not ended so obviously she wants you to read the other series the author when I picked this up it was cuz I was in the mood for a good shifter series or faded mates book and it is don't get me wrong it very much is but now I remember this author from Reading one of her other series that just kind of went on and on. If you don't mind that you're good to go but if you do mind that well obviously this story is four books it takes you four books to go through at all it is very good I'm not going to deny that I enjoyed this the four books very much but now if I want to know what happens to the sister I'm going to have to go and read the next ones I don't know if they're already out or not I did this in audio so the audio was great I enjoyed that it was with Jason Clark and the female narrator I had never heard before but she did awesome her name was Lily I forgot the last name the story definitely kept your interest it moved along quickly it would have been one big fat book had it been put all together so it definitely you know had a lot and you did there was no like filler it definitely was good you definitely needed the parts you needed the back story you needed everything that she wrote so she did a well job on that.

Wolf Mate is the fourth and final book in the Wolves of New York City series by Lili Valente. You can not read these books as standalones. They follow one couple who have a complicated and intense relationship.

Maxim and Willow are now working on the same side once again. The trust is there and they have one goal. To save his pack and the future of the world. With Diana still with the enemy, they need to figure out a way to get her out of the way of danger while figuring out how to make Bane and Kelley surrender. It’s all on their shoulders. First, they need to decide on who they can and can not trust. Can they overcome all of their obstacles?

I can’t say any more than that. I will say that I love this couple and Diana! There were some unexpected twists that I am obsessed with. It was awesome to have many POVs in this story and I am sooo hoping there will be a spin-off.

Quotes:

“Wake up, little wolf,” I whisper, brushing her hair from her cheek. “Time to save the world.”

“Now, how do we do the whole ‘getting ready to fight the bad guys’ thing? Are we going to need snacks? Pep talks? Maybe a montage?”

He’s starved for me, for touch, for release, and he’s right—there’s no turning back now.
The storm has broken, and we have no choice but to let it rage.

I didn’t think it could get worse. I was wrong.

I wasn’t a fan of all the POVs in this one, lots from Diana, and you’ll also have Axe and Kelley, with Willow and Maxim.

This story was just so stupidly ridiculous. I skimmed most of it because it just was so ridiculous and predictable. And it cuts out scenes that seem important, but they just skip over it all.

I absolutely hate Diana now. Her idiotic logic that she loves her boyfriend so much that she’s willing to give his older brother her virginity so she can go save her boyfriend. What!!!!!? Yeah, so Diana, 18yo, encounters Axe, 27yo in the woods as she’s escaping Kelley. And then she takes off all her clothes to seduce him. Why? Because virgins will set off some psychic alarm the witches have and so she needs to not be a virgin in order to take part in the rescue of her boyfriend, who happens to be Axe’s younger brother who she’s been dating for a while and supposedly is in love with. Oh what a sacrifice she is making. She completely enjoys herself. Oh and Axe is her fated mate but Diana doesn’t know thy🙄

Again this book is stupid. Don’t waste your time!!

Perfect conclusion to Willow and Maxim’s story

I loved the final book in Willow and Maxim’s fated mates, wolf pack shifter romance with a side of crazy prophecy. This book is part four of a quartet and concludes the story. As long as you are aware of that you’ll enjoy the book. The story starts right where Wolf Queen left off. Now that Willow and Maxim have escaped the crazies, all that’s left is saving their pack and the world. This book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steam, exciting action, danger, strong friendships, painful pasts, mystery, evil actors, henchmen, plot twists, imperfect characters, mystical prophecies, and even a few chuckles. The book is well written, with witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. I really enjoyed this quartet. I hope there are follow up books in this world.

Wolf Mate by Bella Jacobs was the gripping conclusion to the Wolves of New York Quartet. I devoured this audiobook all in one sitting because I needed all the answers to Willow and Maxim's fated mate love story, and it did not disappoint! Willow and Maxim's journey to HEA was full of so many epic twists and risky turns, and there were so many dangerous factors in place! I was so happy that Willow and Maxim could seal their fate and create their own destiny!

Lili Valente and Jason Clarke narrate this audiobook, and both were amazing giving life to Willow and Maxim. They also voiced a few chapters in some of the side characters that gave the listener even more POVs to find out more characters' thoughts. I loved it!

Overall, I loved this book and this entire quartet! If you love a PNR Shifter Fated Mate romance, then I highly rec these awesome books!

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the last instalment of the series and we finally find out what happens between the two pairs of mates and high pair come out on top.

Both side have people pushing them in a direction, but who is the pair that is the good fit for queen and ruler of the shifters and wolves?

Maxim finally proves that he wants what is best for his mate and will put her first if need be, Bane proves he is still a nasty piece of work, especially as he beats up his own mate.

Diana also is in trouble but finds an ally to help her, with un unexpected consequence.

I really liked the world building and the the connection of each of the characters. The fight was over before it really started, but the book closed up most of the gaps, just leaving us with a taster of what may yet come from the author.

If you’re like me and have been eagerly anticipating this next installment to the Wolves of New York series, you’re in for some exciting surprises!

Full of twists and turns and shocking reveals, this one kept me on the edge of my seat and I read though it quickly in one sitting. Although it looks like the main plot points are resolved, something tells me there's more to come, and I can’t wait!

Since this is a series that builds book by book, you’ll want to start at the beginning and read your way through. PNR romance lovers will absolutely flip over this story. And for those of us who don’t read much PNR, it's still a fascinating, attention-grabbing, phenomenal read!

Such a great ending.

So each book has built on the last one and as Book 3 was winding down - you knew there was too much of the story still to be told. Book 4 does NOT disappoint!!

This has been a fun, PNR series. Shifters, fae, humans, witches - this book has some paranormal for everyone.

Willow and Maxim are in the battle to save the North Star pack. Things aren't going to be easy, but together you have to think things will somehow work out.

And let's just say that the Diana side story line was quite the treat!! Bring on more Axe!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this series and am hungering for more! There's still a lot of story left - please Bella!!

I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.

This is a review for the whole series “Wolves of New York”. I listened it on Kobo Plus.
The series premise is about mated pair of ware wolves, political conflicts between the packs and the gender roles in fantasy world. Unfortunately , there were too many unanswered questions and under developed story parts averaging 2.75 starts. The most interesting character is younger sister of the Alpha who ended up as an owl - so expecting to see if there is a follow-up book with her as FMC.
when to read: actually listen it and do tons of house chores.

Wolf Mate is the last book in the Wolves of New York series by Bella Jacobs. Wow. Just wow! This final book was perfect. Willow and Maxim have to fight for their freedom and not only their pack but all the packs. It's action packed, fast paced and full of some sexiness, humor and loyalty. I loved the chapters in varying POV's, so we could see what everyone was thinking. I hope this isn't the last time we get to see these shifters!

superb finale

Wow part four pulls most of it together where there was a slight confusion from book 3. I loved the characterisations of everyone, the good, bad and ugly. The action flowed with unexpected outcomes which kept everything fresh and exciting. There were a couple of loose ends which didn’t get answered so maybe there will be a future series featuring Diana. I throughly enjoyed this read and the HEA left me smiling through the epilogues. Definitely a 5* read

Binge Worthy!

Yeah I binged this whole series in two days, amazing series, different, quirky and hot. Shocks, secrets, enemies, action, rival packs, all kinds of supernatural and so much more.

There’s still a lot of unanswered questions to how book 4 ended and I’m hoping me being new to Bella Jacobs books that il find more from this series in another series maybe or there will be a possible future for this series to carry on 🤔

Immature with not much sense

It started out promising with a smart no submissive female lead, but quickly went downhill. The relationship btw female and male lead is completely unbelievable. Spoiler coming.
He basically rapes her, but oh so much loves her, and she forgives him after very conveniently he is tortured and sees the light. She loves him but why?? Why? He did nothing to warrant any good feelings.

is this the most original series? no. but it was so fun and entertaining that i literally binged the whole series in less than 24 hours (though, it's pretty short and could have been MAX a duology but oh well). it was definitely a very easy read.

this one had more POV which was surprised at first but when Diana met Axe.... ;) a shifter mountain man? well let's just say i'm excited if that series ever comes out!

Okay, listen. This series was super unhinged in some parts, but I got part one on stuff your kindle day and recently wanted to read something surrounding wolves.
So honestly, I expected it to be badly written with an inconsistent plot or similar, but it ended up completely surprising me and I binged the whole series. Overall, I liked the writing and the plot. I cringed in some parts, but it was definitely a very enjoyable read. (Especially for the price of the ebooks on amazon!!)

I'm listening to this series on an app called "Tempt." You must read the series in order, every book has a cliffhanger for the next installment. As far as I know this is the last book as it was published in 2021, but the series definitely does not feel complete. There are a lot of unanswered questions.
The series as a whole is a bit generic, entertaining, but not very memorable. I did not care for how the series wrapped up.

This was an intense, suspenseful, romantic series that keeps you wanting more. The story of Maxim and Willow is spread over 4 books in this series, but in a way that keeps your attention throughout. If you love the whole shifter, romance, suspense, romance feel, this is the book for you. My only point of sadness was not seeing a resolution for Maxim’s little sister Diana. I am hoping the author continue with a series about her and I am going to look right now!!!

In the final saga, the book series really picks up. This was my favorite out of the four. More pg romance. No 🌶

This book goes into the capture of Willow, Maxim, and Diana. The plot thickens with Kelley and Dane's plans of the future. A couple more characters are added in, but the story keeps up well enough not to confuse you on whose who. You to read to find out how the main characters escape and come to pack peace.

4th book of series

Been over a month since i read this so review is short.
Willow & Maxim scramble to prevent Bane & Kelly from becoming king & queen.
Diana escapes captivity & comes across Jacob’s brother, Axe. Her & Axe get down & dirty, which completely transforms Diana.
Someone dies…twice.
Something significant happens between their side & the parallel side.
Another great book!
