About the author

Philippines-based illustrator Kerby Rosanes works mainly with ordinary black fine liners to magically illustrate his “doodle” world. Considers his art as a personal hobby which turned out to be his part-time freelance work after being recognized by various design blogs, international magazines and online art communities. Most of his works are characterized by whimsical lines, patterns, characters and little elements that are spontaneously combined to create massive compositions depicting his everyday inspirations or scenes from his quirky imagination.

Fabulous Fantasy Coloring Book

Rosanes has produced perhaps his most beautiful coloring book yet. The incredibly detailed drawings are alive with dragons, beautiful damsels, and other mythic creatures. The pages are heavy paper which should take most media without bleeding through. However, I’d test your drawing instruments on a corner to make sure. Many of the drawings run over two pages, but that shouldn’t be an insurmountable problem.

The book begs for color. I’m not particularly artistic, but each page makes me feel like I can add some beauty to the drawings. I particularly like the description of the myths at the end of the book. The myths are gathered from around the world from Greenland to Egypt. I was unfamiliar with most of the myths, so I learned something. Learning about the myths made the pictures come to life.

This is my third coloring book by Kerby Rosanes and I continue to be more and more impressed with each I receive! His intricate designs are not for novice colorists - or at least, not those without significant patience - but for adults or more focused, patient kids, I find them to be absolutely magnificent. Each picture is a work of art. Coloring them in is challenging, but in the best possible way. The imagination at work in each design is phenomenal. The images spark story telling and imaginative play, as well as offer a wonderful way to wind down after a long, stressful day.

Another Kerby Rosanes coloring book! This is my third one and it's just as beautiful as the others. The theme is mythical creatures. He created intricate mythological creatures from many different cultures. At the end of the coloring book is an explanation of each piece of art. You get to learn while you relax and color...it's a win-win.

This is my second Kerby Rosanes coloring book and I love these! I wish Kerby would make a more alcohol marker friendly coloring book that does not have double sided pages. I say that because I color every page and could not bare to have to sacrifice one to use my alcohol markers because his artwork is amazing!!!!

I feel like putting READ on this is a cheat as it’s a coloring book.
His illustrations are spectacular and intricate. I’m scared to colour as to not mess up perfection.
