Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).
If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.
Note: WorldCat is an excellent resource for finding author information and contents of anthologies.
The first thing you need to get used to here is that this is a collection of short stories meant to be an introduction to new “voices”, in the “woke” lexicon. It accomplishes this mission marvelously. It’s only defect is that it feels inconsistent, but it can’t be helped with such a diverse cast of talent “creatives”.
The best stories are so good in art and writing that you’re just messed up when they end abruptly. 😫 They leave you begging for me! The worst stories leave you rolling your eyes and wishing you had never read them. 🙄 And then there’s everything in between on the “spectrum”. 😬
Anthologies are generally mixed bags, and this one has its share of stinkers (the sci-fi stories left me cold, and the interpretation of "noir" was GENEROUS at times), but the winning stories really hit in wonderful ways, and it's great to showcase such range of talent in a genre historically exclusive to straight white men.
I very much enjoyed all the short stories in this graphic novel. I hope the creators will continue writing them. I hope more content like this will be coming out in the future!
The anthology is comprised of black authors and black characters but the stories are a diverse depiction of black characters. Very much enjoyed reading it.
