Wren Donaldson rejects her wooer, wanting him to only be her good friend. When Mildred Crenshaw, her mother's cousin, sends "the perfect groom" to Wren, she begins to realize her dream man already proposed. Too bad she rejected him.
Her rejected wooer has moved on to another girl—or has he? And what about the man sent by the matchmaking cousin? What desperate and dangerous measures will her mail-order groom do to be sure he marries Wren?
The author has penned a sweet and heartwarming story with lots of twists and turns. This is Wren Donaldson and Reynolds Harper's story, and the character development is outstanding. You will recognize some old friends from Bailey's Meadow from previous stories in this series. Reynolds was in love with Wren but Wren decided she wanted to only be friends and wanted to check out a proposed groom that her mother's matchmaking cousin had recommended. However, Wren discovered the proposed groom was not what he had claimed to be. By that time, Reynolds had moved on and was only a friend to Wren. Will Wren realize her mistake and work at convincing Reynolds that she truly loves and wants him? Will Reynolds be able to protect Wren from the danger that is stalking her? Will Wren and Reynolds have their HEA? Be sure and read this outstanding page turner to find out; I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Oh how really loved this sensational story! All the ups and downs of trying to get married to Reynolds has been blocked by one thing or another! This story has so many twists and turns with mystery and suspense to keep you very entertained! I truly enjoyed this one most of all! It has incredible characters and each character plays such important roles in the others life’s! The true faith of finding true love and never taking anything less! So much tragedy has happened to both sisters but their relationship with God proves that there’s so much more to life! Thanks Marisa for an awesome story!! ❤️Truly a must read and don’t forget to read Ruby’s and Sookie’s stories in this series!
Very Enjoyable! The family's story continues (each book is a stand alone)... This time it is Wren's turn to fall in love and get married but she almost blows it when she reject's Reynolds proposal. So much happens before she can make her final and positive decision and thank goodness Reynolds is as persistent as he was or we would not have a happy ever after. It was lovely to meet up with characters from previous stories in this series by this author and though this is a quick read, there is a lot happening between the pages and I enjoyed it all. I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of the ebook and my voluntary and unbiased review is recorded above.
This is a sweet love story written by Marisa Masterson and she has provided excitement and adventure aplenty. Reynolds is a well to do, very attractive young farmer, but he carries secrets from his past that shadow him. Wren come to town to help her sister, Sookie as the town school teacher and mail order bride of the sheriff. Sookie needs wrens assistance because of a horrible accident that leaves her unable to speak. Reynolds is Oney’s, good friend. He meets Wren and a feeling crests a bond or friendship between them. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
I enjoyed Wren's story. One suitor is sure Wren is meant for him, Wren isn't so sure. So, when her aunt sends a groom her way, she decides she must at least give him a chance. Her first suitor doesn't think so, so he stays around to make sure Wren is ok. Everyone thinks the new suitor isn't who he claims to be, but no one can prove it. Will they be able to prove it before something happens to Wren? Will her first suitor ever make Wren happy by declaring his love for her, not just saying they're to be together?
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
4 1/2 stars A rollercoaster ride of emotions from love, fear, understanding, endearment, nervousness this story has it all. Two people having to endure so much before they can be wed.
This is part of a series and although it is a stand alone and Anne read without reading the others ( asi did) I think I would had understood more had I read these in order or at least Sookies story. But if you can’t read in order don’t pass this one up the author gives you enough background that you aren’t terribly lost.
This was a wonderful book, that I thoroughly enjoyed. Marisa Masterson always writes a great book and this is no exception. Wren has feelings for her friend Reynolds, but when her cousin writes that she has found the perfect husband for her, she puts him off. She is suspicious of her prospective groom from the minute he steps off the train and Reynolds still says she is going to be his wife. This was a very entertaining story, that has humor, suspense, mystery and of course a HEA. Another wonderful addition to this series. Highly recommend.
Wren has a friend who wants to marry her and a fiance on the way. She feels she must honor her matchmaking aunt's choice for her but will she follow her instincts and marry the right man? Danger and mystery surrounds Wren and also her friend/suitor Reynolds. This story was too exciting to put down. I especially loved the epilogue and the recipe at the end.
I loved this follow up to Sookie’s Silence. Wren had followed her sister to Bailey’s Meadow to help facilitate her transition to teaching and marriage considering her inability to speak. Wren has picked up her own suitor. This book has the perfect balance of humor, romance, mystery and danger. I recommend this book.
Wren is confused, she has strong feelings for her best friend but her matchmaker aunt has sent her a message she’s found a match for her. When her match arrives something seems wrong. But who should she choose? Really entertaining story, great storyline!
This is a sweet love story for Wren and one of her suitors. The story had some surprises that made you hate to put the book down. There are characters from other books but you do not need to read the other books first. I highly recommend this book!
We continue from Sookie and Ruby’s stories. Wren has a man who feels led to marry her but her cousin is sending a possible groom. Deception and attempted murder. Can love conquer all?
Loved this continued story. Now the family is complete. Wren questions her feelings and her sense of obligation in determining where to place her affection. A satisfying story and lovely ending.
Thank you Marisa Masterson, I really enjoyed reading Wren and Reynolds story, it was so sweet, poor Wren, What she went thru but Reynolds saved her every time,
