But Cruz Ortiz keeps a watchful eye on her, and her chances to make a break are growing smaller, while the wedding is drawing closer.

Only, Jolie Phillips, the office manager for Shadow Force and a woman determined to be an operative, is assigned to the case with him, and Ryder is not a happy camper.
A new organization comes to light as Ryder and Jolie travel around the southeast. As they get closer to the answers, the danger escalates, and Ryder and Jolie are running for their lives.

PART FIVE: Shadow Redemption Levi Slater has fought crime since his time with the DEA, but never before has he encountered a more evil and sinister group than the Los Caballeros del Camino, The Knights of the Way.

When she runs smack into Levi Slater in the woods outside the compound where she was held, she faces a decision—trust him with her and her son’s life or go it alone.
Good details and character development... Friendship, love and taking down the really bad guys. Lots of twists and turns along the way.... Strong women and men with love and laughter and doing the Right things.. Buy the set read and enjoy.
This is a new author for me. I loved all the stories. Yes there were injuries that the characters seem to miraculously heal from and yes, some pretty outlandish things occurred but overall I loved all of the characters, the suspense, the romance, and the HEAs. The last book in the series was by far my favorite and a fitting end.
This set of stories are full of edge-of-your-seat-adventure. Highly recommend to anyone with interest in romance and action. Shadow force delivers both!!!! Great job!
I like a series that even though you know things will turn out they are still exciting. This series does that. The characters were great and each story different and fun.
I found the 1 story lacking and I wasn't willing to go on to finishing it or to start with any of the other books in the set. I find the main female lacking a back bone when it came to the main lead character.
She spent ten years of her life nursing her broken heart and when she finally was able to move on and start a relationship with a new man who ends up being killed (I didn't go far in the story and I don't plan to continue reading any farther then I did) she then set's out to take revenge on his killer only to run into the man who broke her heart 10 years previously.
Now she's fighting her hormones when she's around him and she pathetically pushes him away. I mean really I've never dated before so I've never had my heart broken like she claimed hers was but I wouldn't allow a man who's broken my heart that close to me let lone be as friendly as she is. Yeah she gives him a tough time in some moments then the she's all but telling him that she wants him to bed her in others.
She finds out that the man whose like a father figure lied to them both about the other not wanting have anything to do with the other but she treats him (father figure) like the plague and treats the main male lead character like she's wearing kid gloves.
The main male character chose not check up on her. He chose to be away from her for ten years. He chose to close that part of his life away. That's the key part that everyone should realize he was the one to chose how the past 10 years went.
Now I can't say he should have all the blame because she could've tried looking for him once she was out in the working field. Because by the time she was working for the FBI (or DEA) she had plenty of sources to track him down. But like him she closed that part of her life and moved on finding love and was about to be married.
I find it leaves a bad taste in my mouth reading story's where the main characters just jump in to bed with each other as if the past should be ignored and if nothing has changed. If the characters had that many years away from each other they have changed they are not the same people anymore.
Its like if I hunted down the boy I liked when I was seven who treated me kindly and expected him to be that same Naive little kid. First off 28 years have passed and both of us had different life events happen to us. He could be a widow with 2 kids I could be missing all my teeth due to being a drug addict looking for my next fix. Or he could have beer belly due to a college football Injury or I could be mentally unstable and out looking for people to kill.
No true relationship could last on that kind of foundation. Yes we should move one from our past and for give but we all have those past events for a reason. The past is there to remind us that when hardships happen we can become stronger and grow.
It's like that stick story each time one stick is broken we have something has changed about us. By the time we pick up those piles of sticks there are so many changes to us that we can't just pick up the whole pile and try to snap them all together in one go.
That's why I rate this story one star. The characters are not forming a healthy reality in their relationship or what there end goals should be if its to lead to something beyond just sex.
No plot spoilers No potential triggers There are no grammatical or editorial errors that I can recall. The characterisation isn't the best, each male character is interchangeable with the others. They all have individual issues, but the dialogue and internal thought is pretty much the same right throughout. The first story sets the scene for the rest of the book, except that the acronym TSTL (Too Stupid To Live) was coined especially for the FL. It sort of sets the level for the rest of the book because it is so naively written. We are meant to suspend belief in order that an outfit consisting of five blokes don't need to call upon superior forces and equally specialised agencies such as CDC and Homeland. That the President is happy to permit five odd blokes handle everything. Then there is the level of competency, or rather the lack of it. Each character makes so many basic errors I find it totally unrealistic for presumably highly trained high level operatives. Then there is Jolie, recruited as an office manager and declared a competent operative after a few weeks of hand to hand and time on the gun range. Of course, she didn't need any of the other job requirements specialised operators spend the better part of a year learning. There is a whole host of niggles such as these, but the bottom line is that the book is silly. I have other books by the author and enjoyed them, but this was a step too far. There are light sex scenes, no detail and no swearing (the thugs and terrorists are well spoken apart from a few slurs to the women) I gave three stars because of the length of the book, and the consistent grammar/editing, not because it's truly engaging, I finished it to prove a point to myself because I honestly found the book immensely irritating. I don't think I will purchase more by this author even at the bargain price of 99p.
Several glaring errors. Not the usual kinds of problems (well written, proper grammar, syntax, spelling, word use - except for the use of IUD in place of IED). But they seem to think that bubonic plague was a viral infection that was transmitted through the air, when it was quite famously a bacterial infection, and blood borne. Rats and fleas, folks, it's not really an obscure fact. It's middle school information. Annoying, and takes up hundreds of pages.
Shadow Force: Complete 5-Part Series by Camilla Blake, Kimberly Briggs. Shadow Force was set up as a deniable black ops group. 5 strong men in mind and body, each finding their soul mates in equal strong women. They fight a group of men trying to destroy the future of America. This book grips you from the beginning and doesn't let go till the end.
This box set was such a joy to read. I fell in love with the characters, getting to know them and following them on their journeys to find love and happiness. None of these characters were family by blood, but sometimes the connection between them can be just as powerful. I really enjoyed every page of this collection.
This is a amazing story of a elite force manned by some really great guys and the badass women who find love with them and join the force to help their men. The things that happen with a redesigned virus is scary especially with the crazy times we are experiencing now. This a story you will not want miss reading it's five books in but worth the read
Starts off with great gusto. I really enjoyed the whole plot which evolves over the series. But spoiled a little by all the repetition. You can predict the scenarios to easily of each of the romances. But for that I would have opted for 5 stars
Every character has a great story and everyone has that special someone to get attached to. You will want to be in the storyline with them. Will hold your interest throughout. Must read.
I chose the rating as I enjoyed reading these books that told the story of people's lives, work at a secret security firm and the families that formed along the way. At times it could be a bit much, but a good read all the same.
Excellent book set, the books pulls u in, you won't be able to put the book down, it is gripping and intense and will have you in the edge of your seat. Well recommend.
These ladies definitely know how to keep you on the edge of your seat. This story had more twist and turns than a freaking rollercoaster!!! I loved all the couples and their stories.
Very interesting and riveting series. Each story became a little darker and the evil was more obvious. The cruelty that drives and makes people think they are justified in taking revenge is frightening. Over all the authors did a good job.
Action packed, lots of interesting turn of events, liked the bantering between the two subjects, realistic settings, believable events, enjoyed the romance
