‘Audacious stories marinated in macabre, magic and mayhem.’
From the heart of Scotland, Natasha Sinclair is an independent writer, editor and artist. Working under her brand ‘Clan Witch’ for her creative endeavours and ‘Word Refinery’ for editorial works.
Her writing is often woven with horror, sex and psychological elements. She loves to frolic in the darkness with folklore and the macabre and rich history of her homeland.
Art is unrestrained freedom, as is how storytellers choose to wield the fluid movement and global diversity of language to carve captivating and authentic tales that woe, excite or terrorise an audience. Sinclair passionately embraces that, painting original characters with true form, dialect and depth. The devil is in the details.
She is the co-conspirator of ‘Brazen Folk Horror’ with her writing partner, Ruthann Jagge. The Brazen Folk Horror duo’s debut collaborative novel, ‘Delevan House’ releases in February 2023.
Sinclair is a member of The Horror Writers Association (HWA) and The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).
I got given this in exchange for an honest review and honestly I really liked it. ✔️
It's a short story collection, the stories are very short and too the point; perfect for reading before bed.
The stories are gruesome, filled with sex, violence and some disturbing.
The writing is straight to the point with no filler, it's quite influential to me personally because she makes it seem so easy to write something enjoyable.
What made me enjoy it also was she uses locations around my hometown, Glasgow. 🏴
My favourites from this collection were "Underworld Donation" & "Moonshine Cinnamon"
Highly recommend to those who enjoy short horror stories.
Also check out 'Asylum Daughter' by this author, it's also really good.
I’d read a handful of Natasha’s shorts in various anthologies and always loved them, so when I saw she had put a collection of her own tales together it was a no brainier! Murmur has a wide variety of stories, from creature features to strange possessions, so there is sure to be a flavour to your liking.
Without wanting to spoil anything, my personal favourite involved a dead relative that wasn’t quite ready to move on. Five stars!!
This Collection has Rats, Werewolves, and Supernatural themes and music sprinkle throughout this Novella.
Definitely a up-and-coming author in Horror, Splatterpunk and Supense. This is my fourth book I read of hers. I really like her writing style. 99.9 percent that you will enjoy this book.

I was sent this book in exchange for an honest review.
Usually short story collections can be a bit hit-and-miss but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and gleefully devoured each tale not leaving a single crumb.
Gruesome, violent, thought provoking and just enough gallows humour to soften some of the more harder hits.
Personal favourites: Don’t Rock the Boat Wrappers Neighbours
Oh, and I’ll never look at sweet wrappers the same way again!
