the best financial planning book you’ll read. I just loved how Shinobu constantly let you check in with yourself and your one feelings, as you progress towards your financial goals, and lays out the steps that you need to take always keeping your feelings in mind.
I felt like talking to a combination of a financial planner and a therapist, and that made me smile and even cry a bit with feeling like someone else understood what I was feeling!
I loved this book so much.

a little too “girl boss” for my tastes, but had a lot of helpful info. i’m glad i bought a copy because i bookmarked a lot of pages and will definitely be referring back in the future. the title is a little misleading — this runs through money management pretty well from start to finish, so it’s worth picking up even if you’re not in a place to begin investing right now.

Overall, this is a great overview of personal finances and how to operate within the U.S. system of capitalism successfully. It's all the things you wished you had learned in high school and/or college.

My central critique is that the feminist angle felt overly simplistic. It felt geared towards middle-upper-class, cisgender and heterosexual women. Unfortunately, there is a certain amount of privilege you have to have to begin building wealth through investing (i.e. some savings and/or extra cash flow, work with benefits, etc.).

Great for people beginning to understand their finances and anyone who has minimal to no knowledge on investing or what it takes to ACTUALLY retire. Great examples. Some overt ‘girl-boss’ energy but nothing too over the top or prejudiced. Also, any book that includes what SMART goals are is decent read. (Seriously, if you want to get your life together start reformatting all of your goals under the S.M.A.R.T criteria)

I was expecting more concrete tips for investing. This book is good for people who have never put much thought into financial planning and don't have much knowledge of basic concepts. Unfortunately, not what I was looking for.

SI ERES DE México te sugiero a Sofía Macias.
