What is Sasaki to Miyano? The question rings through Miyano’s mind as he struggles to come to a decision. After all, Miyano likes girls and not guys…right? Meanwhile, surprise reunions with old crushes and Miyano’s first drag beauty pageant push Sasaki’s self-restraint to the limit…
To be quite honest, this volume was rather uneventful. We still don't necessarily know where Miyano stands on the possibility of a relationship between him and Sasaki. It's not frustrating that he's taking his time because it is a big decision and Miyano is exploring what it means to like another individual. He's also attempting to understand his sexuality. I simply believe that I came off of really enjoying volume 3 that I expected to have the same experience with volume 4. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I'm still going to continue on with the series, but I'm hoping to see more developments in volume 5.
It took a while for Miyano to realize his feelings but what I loved is the process. It was so natural and the way he didn’t reject due to the first thought that popped in? I love how he took his time and properly thought through everything. The maturity shown by the characters despite their young age is truly admirable. Despite my reviews being shorter, I would highly recommend this manga to any manga-lover. This is truly a cute story worth your time.
*Original Review 11/16/2021* SO CUTE. I love that Hirano-senpai and his roommate got two lil bonus stories. Amazing.
I'm so ready for Sasaki and Miyano to have mutual feelings for each other and get together, but I'm honestly loving the back and forth. I'm okay if this gets dragged out for another volume, but things are moving faster and Sasaki is getting a little impatient so... AH! I love it!!
*Reread 6/27/2022* Okay so I did read this and I remember parts of this, but reading it again felt like I didn't read it at all. Like Hanzawa is in this so much?? and I thought I hadn't met him in the manga yet. Also I feel I talk very similarly to Jirou's girlfriend. Just the way she gets her thoughts out is very me lol.
Anyway! This is the start of the cultural festival and Miyano preparing for his drag contest. Miyano is clearly starting to see Sasaki as a love interest and Sasaki gets jealous so easily omg!! He's so cute. UGH. Love him. Loved this volume. This whole series just makes me so giddy. :')
Scam! It should have been a kiss! Why isn't it a kiss?! I wanna scream!! My poor heart, and poor Sasa's heart too. He's been fighting it, controling his feelings for Miya because it's just only getting stronger.
Augh, I just really love their chemistry together. I love it so so much! Everything is just great in this series. I also love the supporting characters and their stories, especially my sweet Hirano and Jirou! Since, I already got a taste of Hirano's story (Hirakagi) I would also want Jirou and Eimi's spin off if it's possible! Or, is it possible? I'm trying hard to get that puppy eyes at the moment, although knowing I can't pull one though hahahaha. I just want to cry, let me.
By the way, I enjoyed all the bonus tracks, especially the trick or treat ones, they're adorable! And of course, all of Kagi's bonus tracks. Come on, drag him on the series. I really want to see him! Just something to keep me happy while waiting for Hirakagi volume 3!
And the art, of course, I'm saying it again, just swoonworthy!

It always feels like it ends too soon. I can see Miyano starting to grow, to see Sasaki differently. I love all the side characters and the bonus stories. I'm really looking forward to vol. 5.
4.5 stars 🌟 "I didn't hurt you when I grabbed your hand, did I? Oh. I'm fine. I am a guy, after all. That wasn't enough to hurt me. It's got nothing to do with you being a girl or guy. I just wanna be gentle ...toward the person I like."
Miyano is taking his time figuring things out and Sasaki is being very patient with him. But his jealous scenes remain top tier.. and him asking Mya not to participate in something just cause of peer pressure. Ah, I love them! 😍
3.5/5⭐ Basta amo como está avanzando su relación, pero ojito Sasaki con esos celos de m1erda aunque no hace nada turbio y se que los celos es algo normal no quiero que se caiga de mi pedestal de chico perfecto😭.
HANZAWA MY KINGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HIRANO WEARING CAT EARS IN THE BONUS CONTENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUN ART AND HUMOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
in general i really like the festival scenes in manga and anime. anytime i see the characters hanging out with their friends it makes me think of my friends 🫶🏽
Sasaki and Miyano are so refreshing to read. It's interesting because some of Sasaki's behaviour is endearing in a nostalgic way in that I recall thinking acting absurdly jealous was so romantic, but also slightly discomforting now that I've grown up and realised that that's not indicative of a healthy relationship. The saving grace, and what I find really fascinating, is that Sasaki realises his behaviour is not good.
The final scene of this volume was also really poignant - the melding of the two perspectives was wonderfully handled. I hadn't really paid attention to the fact that we do switch between perspectives throughout the volumes, so it was brilliant to see!
So many things happened in this volume! I really enjoy the world building and character building that Shou Harusono is able to show in these episodic chapters. I also enjoy how seriously Miyano is taking Sasaki's confession. There's a bit of a ticking clock because of an upcoming graduation, but I have every confidence that they'll get where they need to be in their own time.
